Perfect place to stay in Rome! We were able to walk to all the major sights and enjoyed the Trastevere area immensely. Room was clean and nice, roof top has great views!
A lovely guest house in a great location. Our hosts were wonderful, letting me check in early as soon as the room was ready. Comfortable bed. Snacks and coffee or tea included. I would stay here again.
You can’t beat being in Trastevere Rome for the feeling of being a local for a few days. Great location! We had a nice large king bed. The owners are graceful and helpful. Hope I get back someday.
Cant recommend this place enough. Lovely location and staff.
This hotel is conveniently located next to lots of wonderful dining options and has easy access to multiple forms of transportation. Our room was clean, large, and had air conditioning! Lorenzo at the front desk was very friendly and helpful as well. If we come back to Rome we would definitely choose to stay here again!
Inside of the property was modern, clean and very comfortable. The outside of the property could use some updates , but location is excellent! Walking distance to a number great dining and night life options. Also the view of historical Rome was amazing.
Great stay
The hotel room was exquisite. Very quiet and up to date in comfort and design. Loved the area - people are very kind
Two days in Rome after our cruise
We stayed there after our cruise. The hotel is centrally located with lots of restaurants within walking distance. The room was simple, but clean with AC that cooled us off after walking around in the heat. I would stay here again.
This isn’t a hotel!!! it’s private rooms- the shower was dirty and it sewage was coming from the drain back up into the shower. No privacy! They entered the room without permission. Beware what your booking!
The location in Trastevere was so convenient and very close to great dining and shopping places. It wasn't too far a walk to many of the historical sites in the area. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and we had a beautiful view.
Hosts were wonderful! Very helpful and friendly. Loved the area. Had a great stay!
Great location and accommodations
Great location and wonderful amenities. We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were spacious and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend staying here.
Good location. Comfortable bed and shower. Very good walkability.
Our apartment was very clean and spacious for a family. The kitchen was fully stocked and there truly was space for five to sleep. We could easily walk everywhere and we would happily stay there again if in Rome.
This property is excellently located and well appointed. The room was very large with a nice view. I’d definitely stay here again. The hosts were very very nice people.
Window in Rome located in the Bohemian area
Window in Rome family owned five bedroom hotel. It is in the middle of the bohemian area of Rome. The small adjacent ally streets are filled with restaurants and nightlife. I could see many of the iconic Roman landmarks from the roof top including the Vatican dome. I slept well in the room and would definitely stay again in a future visit to Rome.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Great location and surround by great food options and shopping! Taxi can drop off/pick up right out front so no dragging luggage down cobblestones or alleyways.
Great location, spacious and clean room, amazing roof top terrace, friendly staff. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Property was easy to find and right next to the Vatican! Just don’t rent a car if you’re going to be staying here, surrounding area had no parking.
They were super accommodating with a late check in and helped us arrange airport transportation. Great location and views. Everything was sparkling clean and the suite had everything we needed.
I can't say enough good things about the Window on Rome! Luigia is an amazing hostess and the staff are exceptional. Especially the cleaner! It was a convenient location with restaurants galore right outside the door. The apartment is an easy walk to all the sites but if you've already been walking for 12 hours there is a taxi stand about 100m away. This is convenient because the whole taxi system in Rome is very different compared to how it works in North America. I would definately stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay. Great location easy access to everything
Wonderful
Wonderful owners, location, and experience. Very clean and plenty of space.
Not a US style chain! What a lovely property. Just across the Tiber in Trastavere. Top floor with beautiful views(hence the name). Bonus rooftop patio with 360o view. Would be wonderful in warmer weather to enjoy coffee or a glass of wine. Generous size room with comfy bed. Well stocked with complimentary coffee/tea and sweet snacks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to just about everything in Rome you want to see.
PERFECT!
Fabulous place in a great location. Room was a good size and very comfortable. Absolutely spotless and cleaned daily. Highly recommend and would very happily stay here again.
Thoroughly enjoyed stay - the room, the view, walkable to many attractions, but above all the helpfulness and friendliness of the host and hostess and all staff was much better than could have been expected. Would recommend Window on Rome to all family and friends.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. They also speak english. Many dining options close by and walking distance to most attractions. We highly recommend this accommodation to anybody travelling to Rome
Very clean, everything looks brand new. Great view from the room in an excellent location in Trastevere. The owner was very attentive.
The view is truly amazing and a 'window on Rome'!! The hosts couldn't be nicer and make you feel at home. Love the area and would stay here again.
We had the apartment which was perfect for a family. Everything we could need was provided and it was a very comfortable stay. Close to lots of things.
The senior couple managing the property are very nice, that is why it is a bit difficult to write this review. We stayed for only one night at this B&B, so I don’t know if my review would be helpful to other travelers. But here it goes… The property is clean, modern, and close to the historical area. But, there is no second B in this B&B. There was no hot water, it was not only I having this experience, as other guests complained about the same issue when I was checking out. I reserved the quadruple room for the extra space, but, the room seemed very small for four persons and not much bigger at all than a regular room by Rome standards. The air conditioner could never get below 26C/78F. which forced us to open the window as the temp. outside was 21C/69F. My room had a window to the street which was very noisy and there must be a hospital near the property as ambulances passed by every 20 min. with their sirens on. Moreover, there is a church with a bell tower in front of the property and everybody knows what bell towers do….
Lovely stay & great location & friendly helpful hosts . The room was comfortable & nicely updated We would definitely book here again if in Rome!
Perfect stay; comfy bed, clean, super neighborhood, helpful reception guy, quiet… Thank you
We enjoyed the property. Very clean. Great A/C and WiFi. Close to all major attractions.
Walkable with a view at the top!
The unit was as represented online and slept 5 conveniently. Nicely updated for an older building with a small but adorable lift/elevator. The small kitchen suited our needs for a two night stay and is located and a very walkable and beautiful area in Trastevere with plenty of restaurant choices, especially Soninno’s across the street for pesto ravioli.
Best Window in Rome
The stay was amazing. We were welcomed with open arms and the hosts were very sweet and accommodating. They even provided a private transfer to the airport for a reasonable price. So clean, modern, and the view was absolutely amazing! They even have a rooftop with a 360 degree view of Rome! I highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.
The hotel had a beautiful view of the city, from the rooftop terrace. Provided a little breakfast of snacks and assorted coffee, tea, and jams. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best part was taking the lift!!!
Perfect location, great views from the room and rooftop patio. Friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed in the ‘Trastevere’ 2 bed suite, great size for our family of 4 with well equipped kitchen and dining facilities. Comfy beds and powerful shower. Amazing views and great location in walking distance of all the sights. Recommended!
This is a great place to stay because of its location, close to restaurants and transportation to go elsewhere in Rome. It is run by a delightful couple. It was nice having a washing machine. There is no clothes dryer and as we were there when there was some rain, we could not use the rooftop clothes line. Having a kitchenette was nice but we wanted to eat out and taste the local food. The hairdryer was a little tricky.
A little gem
Fantastic little hotel in the heart of Trastevere in Rome. Amazing views from the rooms and even better from the rooftop terrace. Great service and great stay- would gladly stay there again.
The property was in a great location. The owner was wonderful! It was a great stay
Excellent - clean, comfortable & great location
This is a small hotel located on the top floor of a block of apartments. Don’t let that put you off! It does exactly what it says on the tin - other reviews are very accurate. It looks onto Trastevere area and greater Rome - it is indeed a window on Rome! The location is excellent - it is walking distance to many of Rome’s tourist attractions. Trastevere itself is a lovely neighbourhood with many cafes and restaurants - excellent quality and generally good value for food and drinks. The hosts are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is clean and very comfortable. I would highly recommend for your trip to Rome - particularly for a first time visit. Bus stop to/from Termini a few minutes walk away - journey only takes 20 minutes. Taxi rank also located a couple of minutes away. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
In the heart of Rome, Trastevere
For the travelers like us who want to eat like locals, this hotel was perfect. A few minute walk to great restaurants and lovely small coffee shops. Also 15 - 30 minute walk to all major sites. The owners are so nice and accommodating. We’d love to go back again.
Not clear on posting it is a b&b. Inconvenient number of keys required. Misleading posting
The owners were very helpful offering dining suggestions and printing out documents. Very easy going and friendly. Great stay wish we could have stayed longer.
A view of Rome
Great location, friendly owners, clean, cozy and newly renovated.
Amazing
This is a hidden gem. Clean, neat and such an amazing location. Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend.
Perfect stay in a great location
We took the suite for 4 (Trastevere room) which was perfect for us. We loved the roof view, and the owners Renato and Luigia made us feel right at home. The location was great with a taxi stand one block away and many attractions within walking distance. We will recommend to friends in the future.
Great location and great value. We enjoyed our stay and were able to walk to all of Rome’s attractions. Trastevere has many great restaurants and a young hip vibe. The hosts were helpful and personable without being overbearing. I would stay there again and recommend to friends.
The host was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and presentable, nice bathroom and shower but rather pricey. Didn't like the fact that the only breakfast served was dry crackers, packaged cookies and jams and coffee in the room. The property presents as a B & B so this is not acceptable. Also had to pay for water.
We enjoyed our stay immensely. Luigi and Renato were friendly and efficient hosts. The location was perfect. We walked everywhere in Rome and had a fabulous collection of restaurants to choose from in the evening in Trastevere. The room was clean and comfortable.
Comfortable and cozy
Wonderful location for our last night in Rome. It was very easy to catch the tram? to the bus station. The view from the top of building was amazing. The hostess very helpful and friendly. I wish we could've stayed here a few more nights.
We loved this place. Good location , owners were very friendly and helpful. Rooftop was nice to sit and relax. Only drawback was train is a bit noisy but not too bad.
Loved our stay at Window on Rome, room was spotless, location in Trastevere was excellent with everything you want to visit within walking distance. Owners are wonderful, very helpful and give great recommendations for restaurants etc. Highly recommend as a place to stay in Rome.
The owners are a very sweet couple who live down the hall from the main room area. They were super helpful during our check in and helped us with a car to the airport as well. The room was larger than expected and was very clean, we also had a killer view of the entire city of Rome
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Window on Rome. We loved the fact that there was a lift because getting luggage around is no easy task! Luigia and Renata were wonderful, they arrived a driver to pick us up from the airport and gave great tips for the area. The location of this property was perfect! We had such quick and easy access to everything and Trastevere is truly Rome’s best kept secret. Our room was great! We loved that there was a safe and cleaning service every day. It was nice to get a new fresh set of towels and just to spruce up the place a bit after we had come and gone from daily adventures. WiFi was easy to access, shower was wonderful, the AC kept the room comfortable and most importantly, we felt safe. The only thing I think that could’ve been the cherry on top would be to have an iron and ironing board. Our clothes were super wrinkled from being in our suitcases for a while. Otherwise, we had an amazing stay here and would definitely return! Grazie!
Warm and welcoming. The owners were so helpful in arranging airport transportation and graciously accommodated all of our requests. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Rome!
Well located with good transportation options and restaurants.
Good location and sensational panoramic views of the Colleseum and the Vatican
this was a great place to stay with a family. Clean, comfortable and spacious. We had a kitchen ( we didn’t use it - too many great restaurants in Trastevere). Friendly and helpful owners. Centrally located - we walked everywhere. Thoroughly recommend.
For Rome, this was a super spacious room and bath, lovely views and great location. I would only caution that my room was on the street side with the tram line. Even on the 5th floor with double paned windows, the sound was disruptive. Might be fine for some guests but was an issue for me.
The property exceeded our expectations! Owners were wonderful, fantastic location, comfortable and clean room.
Perfect Stay!
Amazing customer service and fault-less accommodation. The husband and wife that work the reception desk are so kind and accommodating. The room was sparkling clean, which is most important to us. Highly recommended!
Loved our time at Window on Rome, and never tired of the view from our window. We had one of the smaller rooms, and as such, not much space to sit. However, very comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom and spotlessly clean. We did find it very noisy at night trying to sleep with window open. Mostly very loud groups of people who seemed to hang around on the street very late at night talking and laughing very loudly. However, closing the window and turning on the AC solved that problem. The location is fabulous and we were easily able to walk to all sights, though the trams and buses are right outside and easy to use. Our hosts were lovely, and provided recommendations for restaurants and sites to see. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a great place to stay in Rome!
This was our first time staying in a non traditional hotel and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It was in a great location. The room was clean and spacious. Luigia and her staff were friendly and accommodating.
We loved our stay at Window on Rome. The owners were fantastic and sweet. We felt very safe and comfortable for the 2 days while we were here. Loved how we were right in the middle of the city but felt secure and relaxed in our room at night. We traveled with our young daughter and this place was perfect for us!
Our home in Rome
Window on Rome was a great place to stay, very clean and conveniently located. Luigia is very warm and welcoming and very helpful.
Great location and view! We would definitely stay here when returning to Rome!
Perfect accommodations for family stay
We loved staying at Window on Rome. The location is ideal, located in Trastavere, within easy walking distance of so many landmarks, restaurants, shopping and more. The owners were very helpful and even invited us to their rooftop party on our second night there! The rooms were not large but had all of the items that make travel better -- extra towels, pillows, good air conditioning, and helpful people around to direct our wanderings and help with restaurant recommendations. We would stay here again, definitely!
Close to the BEST spots in ROME!
Greeter was so nice and accommodating and let me keep my luggage. It was very very clean and newly remodeled looking. very modern despite outside of the building being maybe 500 years old.
Great stay in Rome
We stayed here for the Roman leg of our holiday and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Window is perfectly located in the Trastevere district which means you are close to all the main sites. In fact we didn’t take a cab during our stay it was that easy to get around. The hotel isn’t large but it has the perfect amenities (amazing bathroom) for a short stay in Rome. Our hosts were friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful throughout our stay. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Modern, spacious, clean, and convenient!
Highly recommend staying at Window on Rome! The outside of the building and surrounding area may not look the nicest, however the inside is modern, nice, and super clean. Everything was in great working condition - A/C, water pressure, drainage, hot water (although the temperature would fluctuate a little), and wifi. Very spacious bedroom and bathroom. Big sink for your toiletries, and plenty of storage for your clothes and belongings. Safe available in the room but too small for a laptop. Great views from the bedroom window. Water, beer, and soda are 1-2 euros, and no breakfast available, however snacks were replenished every morning (toast, cookies, crackers, jam and nutella packets, tea, coffee). Location - safe and very convenient. Grocery stores nearby, tram right outside, bus station across the Tiber River, touristy area of Trastevere across the street (plenty of shops and restaurants!!) Luigia was helpful and available during normal hours. Asked her a couple of times about directions and where to buy tram/bus tickets
New Year's in Rome
Window on Rome is a well situated hotel in Trastevere, outside the bustle of the city centre but still close enough to easily explore the delights of Rome. Restaurant options are abundant within a few minutes walk. The rooms were well maintained and very clean. Our hosts were fantastic and went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Watching the fireworks across the city from the rooftop was spectacular. Overall, excellent value for money and I have no hesitations in recommending Window on Rome.
Excellent!!!
Staff was extremely friendly. The location is within Rome’s best restaurant neighborhoods: Trastevere and Campo dei Fiori. Would certainly stay again!!
Perfect place to stay for couples
Stayed in Rome with my girlfriend in this fantastic guesthouse. The house sits on the top floor of an old Roman apartment building. Luiga and Renato truly run this place as a labour of love and want nothing more than you for to enjoy your stay. They were even kind enough to offer us a selection of umbrellas on a rainy day. The room was very clean and comfy with excellent facilities. The view from the window is perfect. The room is also fitted with a coffee machine that is easy to use and topped up everyday. The guesthouse also has an accessible rooftop that we frequented on several occasions before heading out for the evening.
Everything was great. Very, very comfortable bed that fit. I am 6’4” tall. Very clean. Very nice host, Luigia. The only negative was the noise from th #8 tram on the street. I am sure this would not be a problem if you request a room in the back. Ours faced the street. But we also had an awesome view in the front. Very central to be able to walk in Trastevere and close to Jewish Ghetto area.
nice and beautiful
Very nice staff, clean and beautiful room, good location. Definitely recommend this hotel
Great Location! Great Views from Roof Top Terrace
We highly recommend this place. Large rooms with kitchen facilities. The view from the roof top terrace is incredible. With views of St. Peter's and the Forums. Trastevere is a great locations with many bars and restaurants in easy walking distance and a vibrant community. Just off the Line 8 tram line which takes you to the Forums, and the Altar of the Fatherland and just a short stroll to the Colosseum from there. The owner Luigia was nice and accommodating. This is not a hotel but a guest house, so there will be no front desk frequently.
Nice view from our room and the rooftop. Lots of restaurants close by.
Close to attractions
Walking distance to most attraction but a very modern and up to date hotel.
First time in Rome, stay here.
What a find. Perfect location to walk to all the sights with a small suburb vibe. Close to so many great bars and restaurants, you leave feeling like a local. Our hosts went out of their way to help us and were so friendly. I could have spent hours staring at the views, they have to be seen to be believed. Highly recommended.
B&B minus the B!
Pros: - Good size rooms, very clean - Nice bathroom, actually has a place to put your own toiletries - The rooftop has an amazing view, as does our room with a great view of Rome Cons: - The pink elephant was the so called 'light breakfast'. Everywhere else, our light breakfast has included choices of fruit, juice, yogurt, pastries and even procchiuto and fresh bread. Just simple but good foods. Not here - we were told to enjoy the prepackaged sugar wafers in the room - yes, the junk you eat as a snack, not for breakfast! Photo below. - The shower starts off hot and before you get the shampoo through your hair, it turns totally cold....and goes back and forth, maybe it can't handle 7 rooms. - Lots of street noise, especially with windows open - Very hard pillows, unbendable We would not return.
Perfect Place to Stay
Everything about Window on Rome exceeded our expectations. The room was perfect. We loved having a kitchen to make snacks and eat our leftovers. The location is excellent. We were close to everything whether on foot or via Uber. And there are a number of great restaurants only a few minutes away on foot. Our hosts recommended great places and accommodated all our needs. I highly recommend staying at Window on Rome!
Fantastic location, great hosts and super clean
If you are looking for a convenient & comfortable stay in Trastavere - this is the place. Book it now !
A day in Rome
Window on Rome is excellent if you are on a business trip. Very nice rooms, clean and modern in an old building. As they say never judge a book by its cover and is very true for Window on Rome. I had to pay a Late Check-in fee, a first and not sure how i will justify the claim to my company. Still value for money but would be great if the fee could be shown upfront while booking. While booking it says that you need to contact Window on Rome directly but does no show the fee until you have booked. Also you cant identify the place readily but is not difficult to find. Overall great experience and would stay there again except will get there before 9PM to avoid late check-in fee :)
Excellent location and amenities. Owners are outstanding in relation to making you feel welcome and comfortable. Love the washing machine
Convenient and modern!
Gorgeous guest house in Trastevere, along the main road leading across the Tiber into the city center. The owners are lovely and the rooms are clean and modern (comfortable beds and pillows). Our room had gorgeous views overlooking Rome, it was the highlight of our stay. What makes my rating 4 star out of 5 were two things: 1. I saw silverfish in our bedroom! It was by the bathroom in the main space, I took a closer look and saw that the laminate floor was raised from water damage. 2. There was NEVER consistent hot water, sometimes there was NONE. Did not matter if you took a shower at 6am, 7am, 8am, 6pm or even midnight. This is not consistent with 5 star service and we were extremely disappointed. We would turn the water off and on just to conserve what hot water there was during our showers.
Great apartment with a very convenient location
Great service and good location to explore Rome by foot. Owners were also very helpful and flexible. Much prefer this to a hotel. Will dear recommend it my friends, family and work colleagues
Perfect location near the river, a lot to do!
Amazing location! Super nice couple that runs it, this is a floor of rooms, not your typical hotel. They invited us to a roof top party with other Romans, food and drinks, great time!
Great Location in Trestavere
We stayed 2 nights with our family of 5. The location in Trastevere was great! Very convenient walk to great restaurants, bars and shops. The feeling there is less "touristy", which is what we were looking for. 10-15 min walk to Piazza Venezia from where we grabbed the Hop-on-Hop-Off bus. The room was very spacious and clean.
Amazing place!
We had an amazing experience at this hotel! The rooms are big and the location is simply perfect! The hosts are very welcoming and have made our stay in Rome one to remember! We would highly recommend this hotel.
Truly a Window on Rome!
We enjoyed our stay at Window on Rome. The view from the Rooftop Terrace was magnificent. Rosaria & her husband were extremely hospitable & helpful to us. The room was large & well equipped. Restaurants all around us. We wanted a different Rome experience then past visits where we stayed near the Colosseum. This fit the bill nicely. Lots of night life, yet the hotel location was quiet. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
We loved staying here. Luigia was so lovely and incredibly helpful. It was sad to say goodbye to her. The room was not huge, but certainly plenty of room for us. It was exceptionally clean and had a modern bathroom. You could access the rooftop which gave you 360 views of Rome. Rather spectacular!
Very comfortable and great AC.
Very comfortable room in a wonderful area.
Clean fresh ensuite room
Very clean apartment style access. Close to tram and a plethora of good eating spots. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Will stay at least a week next time
Trastevere is much nicer than the "monumental" areas of Rome, and Window on Rome is an excellent place to stay. All is newly renovated with great taste and confort.
Good to know spot.
Excellent of its accomodation style. (NB Not a hotel--room in apartment block) to a very high standard

Great spot right in the heart of Trastavere!
