I chose Native because of the price point as well as the fact the studios have a kitchenette, which was perfect. The room was cosy and a really good size. There were great features like an extra folding chair in the cupboard , so an extra guest could sit at the table to eat, and the clever dining table was great too. The shower was well thought-out as the controls were at the 'dry' end, The water was not very warm though, maybe just bad luck, and there would have been plenty of room for a bath, which I would have preferred. The heated towel rail meant I could dry out my damp gloves and socks ( January). While it was a fairly convienient location, it was just a tiny bit further than I would have liked, as it was on the edge of the new town, great for the airport bus, but too far to just pop back during the day. The nearest shop was a co-op a couple of streets away. I would possibly stay again next time I'm in Edinburgh.
The staff comes to mind first as to what I liked about the resort. We got checked in a bit early due to some "magic" and I was able to get an extra blanket. Great service.
Good place
Nice hotel, late check-in
Great location, room was clean and spacious. The check-in process left something to be desired- we arrived 10 minutes before check-in time at 3 pm and they were unable to tell us when the room would be ready. We needed to eat so we left around 3:30 and the room still wasn’t ready but we weren’t given a reason for the delay or any apology about that. Overall though it was a good stay.
Overall good stay at Native. Pillows on the soft side but that’s a personal preference. Only down point for me was the lack of nearby parking, although pretty walkable areas not far off. Would recommend the overall stay.
All round great stay!
Amazing stay, perfectly located, a 10 minutes walk to wherever you want to be in Edinburgh or so it seemed. Lovely staff, very accommodating, room was great, spacious with good facilities and very clean!
Lovely hotel.
Perfect choice for a few days, ideal location for the city and gardens, quiet and informative staff available....the use of washing machine and tumble dryer was a happy surprise too
Hospitality throughout our stay was second to none. 1 bedroom apartment was fairly big and well equipped with hob, kettle, convection oven/microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. TV in both lounge and bedroom. Very comfortable bed. Advised of no daily turndown service when we arrived but that if we needed anything to simply ask. Nature of aparthotels. The TV in bedroom wasn’t a smart TV (so viewing options were limited) and there wasn’t a freezer or icebox compartment in the room from what we could see, but I’m sure the bar downstairs would have provided an ice bucket had we asked. Hotel bar was reasonably priced but drinks selection was limited. Reception / lounge area was comfortable. Keycard required to access hotel after 10pm and front desk is staffed 24/7 which was reassuring. Hotel is situated on a busy road (traffic wise) but the room was pretty well insulated from the noise. No disturbance at night. Location was absolutely perfect for us to be able to walk through the incredible Moray estate up to Stockbridge; equally down to the old town and castle. Absolutely no complaints.
I love how this place is in a quiet but still walkable part of the city. The amenities are also great, we had a verg comfortable stay.
Great location, just enough simple amenities, price was very reasonable.
Excellent location of property for price. Apartments have all amenitjes you could possibly want to self cater. There is a small shop on site for snacks and drinks. A greater choice of hard drinks would be nice. Customer service could probably be improved but wasn't bad. No soap in the bathroom. No apology from receptionist, and was more interested in getting housekeeping to resolve this the following morning rather than just getting this for us at the time. Receptionist seemed disinterested on checkout.
Great will stay here again
Really enjoyed our stay, ideal property for us. Will certainly use this again
What a gem, these are well equipped apartments for short or longer term stays. Was really pleasantly surprised by how nice Native was
The hidden kitchen was super neat to discover and having stackable washer and dryer added a special touch. The apartments are spacious, which was nice. The only thing lacking was bedding. The cover was thin which forced me to turn the heat up. I would have preferred a heavier goose down comforter in a duvet. Also, the bed wasn’t that long so at 5’10 it was a tight fit.
Brilliant apartment, super clean and quiet!
Easy walk to restaraunts, gardens, and a little longer to the castle
Simply wonderful apartment in so central Edinburgh. Comfortable, quiet cant be faulted in any way
Hard to get parking nearby as it's a 20 minute walk and you have to pay about £20 a day, but overall good position to stay in, nice and quiet but still close to the centre, easy to book, really nice rooms. Could do with an upgrade on the duvets
Excellent Stay
Great gem in New Edinburgh . It’s a quiet pace compared to Old Town near Royal Mile but only a 10-15 minute walk . Staff were friendly and eager to help . Angie was my room attendant and she was so sweet and attentive to detail . The wafers were nice treat ! Well stocked kitchenette and they even provided milk to go with tea coffee .
Walking distance from the Royal Mile and good restaurants close by.
The reception was nice, hotel was very quiet, room was clean, bed was comfortable, the staff was nice when I saw them around the property. Would stay again.
Close to the tube and shopping.
It was a very well decorated and peaceful room, loved our stay!
Great that we could store our bags. Room was modern and nicely decorated. Staff were really nice and helpful.
We stayed in a one bedroom and it was really convenient as there is a small kitchen with washing machine and dryer in the room. Great for short or long stay. Just that the hotel is along a main road and parking is hard to come by. Do book parking onsite early if you need parking. On street parking is expensive when on meter. Nearby street parking is free from 6:30pm-8:30am most days and it is only across the street from the hotel. Otherwise the hotel is within walking distance to the central shopping district with plenty of restaurants nearby.
Felt homey. And the laundry services were fantastic!
The property quality is good and with all the essential equipment. Suggest to have more chairs in the apartment as not convenience if dinning in the apartment with family.
Great location walkable to all areas of interest
Great location in new town. Parking was distant and caused a bit of hassle. Hotel shower without shampoo or conditioner. But otherwise everything else was great.
great value for an entire kitchenette and full sized refrigerator which few hotels even offered a refrigerator in Scotland. Also enjoyed desk, more drawer space, and location. Wish I had chosen to stay there longer to take advantage of more.
Super choice!
Excellent choice in Edinburgh! Central yet quiet location, friendly staff.
Perfect for our first time in Edinburgh. The rooms are quite spacious as they are “aparthotels”. It was nice having a fridge etc. for snacks. The coffee shop downstairs was excellent and very easy to walk or take the bus where we needed to go.
great staff, great breakfast. No AC
Staff are lovely and everything was great except we were promised a room refresh during our 5 night stay and this didn’t happen
Great and helpful staff
Great, centrally located hotel. Has a tight underground parking garage if you request a space ahead of time but you must have a tiny car. Valerie was amazing at check-in, helped with storing bags before checkin time and giving great suggestions to visit in the city!
No need to come by car as no parking, very comfy beds, very clean, light breakfast, reception was great as kept cab calls short and on time, the little kitchenette was home away from home, lots of eateries nearby, I used Deliveroo for meals, I will come back.
Quiet location, bordering a beautiful residential area, a few blocks from the busy restaurant/bar/shopping area but easily walkable to it. The apartment was fantastic, larger and brighter than I expected and beautifully decorated. Would definitely stay there again.
Very friendly staff. Great for a girls weekend
I loved my stay…very comfortable spacious room and living room…stove top, microwave, fridge, washer and dryer….and in walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, etc…..the staff was so nice and welcoming
Our stay at Native Edinburgh was wonderful. The moment we stepped in the hotel, we were warmly greeted by staff members Isabela and Valerie. They were kind enough to move us to a room with a washer/dryer upon arrival so that we could do some much-needed laundry. The hotel is adorable and stylish, and has a lovely cafe in the lobby. Isabela and Valerie were wonderful throughout our stay, and made us some fantastic cappuccinos in the morning. Don’t hesitate to book with Native Edinburgh — you will love your stay!
We loved the lobby area with coffee, drinks, and comfortable seating. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely updated and decorated. This was a great location and nice property.
The only good thing about the hotel is its location and staff. The hotel does not have safe car park to unload the luggage. It has outside stairs and no ramp that made us carry our heavy bags upstairs to the reception. The car park is far about 10 minutes walk. The hotel has small parking not suitable for vans. The outside noise, especially the seagulls was very annoying which we couldn’t sleep well during our six nights stay. The faucet tub does not drain well. It was bad experience.
Outstanding rental units with AC. Very very quiet. Our unit was a little small, but they likely have bigger ones. A little on the expensive side. We will stay here again as the location is perfect.
Love the apartment-style suites. Wonderful to have a full kitchen and living room not just a studio hotel suite.
I have such mixed reviews for my stay at Native. Pros: -Location! I know people think they want to be right in Old Town, but if you want to avoid constant crowds and noise, New Town is actually better. Native is in the heart of New Town, a short walk to Old Town, and less than 10 minutes down to Stockbridge. Location can't be beat. -The apartments were much bigger than expected. It was great having a real place to stay with a kitchen and laundry. -The lobby/cafe area was really nice. It was convenient having that on site. Cons: -THE DOORS. They were insanely heavy. Not only could you not leave a door open without a doorstop, the constant noise of everyone else's doors was extremely annoying. I couldn't nap without being woken up by doors slamming. Although they weren't bad throughout the night, as soon as people started waking up in the morning, I could no longer sleep as the doors were waking me up. -My room was right by the stairwell and there was constantly mud in the hallway all around my room because of people using that door. -As nice as the reception area was, the room could have used some updated. The couch was stained with what is clearly a sex stain and the bathroom was not in good repair. -I was told I wouldn't have daily cleaning, but I would have one day where my towels were refreshed, given more toilet paper and my trash was changed, but in the four days I stayed there- this never happened which was disappointing. -Front desk staff felt more like hostel.
Loved the rooms especially the washer / dryer!
Great space, laundry available, in room coffee maker and kitchenette made for a comfortable and convenient place to bookended our trip to Scotland.
Nice kitchen area and clothes washer and separate dryer.
The hotel felt brand new and clean and had a fun vibe. We rented the apartments sleeves, and it was perfect. It felt more like home than a normal hotel room.
I stayed this hotel for two says and found that location is perfect. It is close to everything, such as prince street, restaurants and cafe. We walked to Royal mile, Dean village, Edinburgh castle and Carton hill. Very clean and nice staff. One small thing I think it should have is Kleenex type of tissues and paper tower in the kitchen.
Great location. Very walkable to all major sights. Rooms were spacious. Bathrooms could do with better cleaning - spotted black mould in sinks and shower.
I am staying in this hotel for two days and enjoying its recently updated facilities. Front desk staffs are nice and kind and there was no issues to leave my luggages bit early before checking in to see Edinburgh Castle. Plenty of spaces for three people considering we are in UK, not North America. One small shortcoming would be no Kleenex type of tissues are available in the room. It locates near to everything such as Price’s street, Tourist attractions, restaurants/cafe and Tesco. I would stay again in the future visit in Edinburgh.
Well placed, well maintained, all good.
Great location and good working a/c Staff very tentative
Good location
Great location, nice rooms with good facilities
Great Vacation Stay
Great location, helpful staff, and so convenient to the extra room of a 1-bedroom apartment, kitchen facilities, and washer/dryer!
Excellent small apartment perfect for our 4 day stay!
A bit noisy but otherwise great
Wonderful property. Huge rooms and walking distance to most highlights of Edinburgh. Staff were so friendly and helpful.
The room is spacious with a kitchen and washer and dryer. This is great for family. Super convenient to have all those things in the room. The hotel also provides free detergent.
Everything about native hotel was wonderful. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
Great size room. Quiet. Staff were lovely (no matter what time of the day - even with jetlag)
We were struggling with jet lag when arriving and the Native was perfect to unwind and get some good sleep while being close walking distance to restaurants, pubs and Princes St corridor. Native had super quiet and comfortable apartments and easygoing and approachable staff. We had a lovely hostess when we arrived that was able to answer our questions with it being our first time in the UK. We walked to our sightseeing destinations most of the time and found it a pleasant walk each time, being close to Rose St pubs was a bonus. Had no issues with pick ups and drop offs with ride services and taxis as well as street outside is wide. Beautifully furnished, nice take away options for snacks and brekkie, and clean. Would stay again.
Nice but had builders working on scaffolding directly outside our window
Overall I’ll say it was a nice stay! Everything was super close and the are was incredibly nice. In regards to the room, I was on the lower ground level - there were times where it would be incredibly noisy. I will op for upper levels next time.
Native was ideal as was close to transport and everything to do in Edinburgh. Great one bedroom apartment. Staff were great and friendly. Restaurant and shops nearby.
Perfect location, friendly staff, and clean room. What more can you ask for!
Isabella and Rebecca were fabulous. The others were good, too, but those two stood out. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
Overall fine experience. Was supposed to have 1 room for 3 guests but they ran out of rooms? So gave us 2 rooms instead — which was fine but we wanted to stay together. Cute interior and well stocked aparthotel features (kitchen washer dryer etc) but missing the super cute unique factor!
Would stay here again
Having access to laundry was amazing! The front staff was helpful, the little bag breakfast was nice. My only "difficulty" was the internet not really working on my phone. Seemed fine for my friend, but mine didn't seem to be working.
Native is in a lovely residential area of Edinburgh, just a short stroll from some lovely restaurants. Our apartment was lovely - comfy bed, excellent shower, and a small kitchenette which meant we could save money on breakfasts, etc. Staff were fabulous, too - very welcoming. Highly recommended.
Lovely stay only small gripe was the car park situation. W
The quality of the place exceeded my expectations - boutique aparthotel, arranged with great taste, immaculately clean. Everything was werking well - air con can be adjusted to any temperature you want, there are kitchen appliancec in the room: WM, DW, fridge, and even the tumble dryer, plus iron and ironing board. There is a gym at the lower grand floor - small, but all machines are new, and working well. Book with confidence-you wont be dissapointed!
Fantastic place to stay with a baby, really good location and excellent facilities. We will be back 😊
Really good studio apt, perfect for a night or two in the city.
Amazing stay
Had an amazing stay at this hotel. Clean, warm & comfortable room which is fully equipped. Staff are helpful. Highly recommend this place
Friendly and helpful staff, ample space especially on one bedrooms, and clean rooms. I stayed at a one bedroom for about a week attending a conference and I had a vreat time. Equipped with washer/dryer, stove, and a dish washer you feel like being home. Cheers!
Would recommend and return
Welcoming, helpful reception team, very clean and super comfortable. Rooms had everything you would need, including tea/coffee, quality toiletries and hairdryer etc Good location for city centre and base for travelling to other areas.
Nice stay
Well spec’d, good value and good service
Very well equipped studios and apartments, a short walk from Rose Street & Princes Street. Our studio was ready on time and was very well presented when we arrived, the wi-fi is fast and both the living area and bathroom area of the studio are spacious. However, we did have a lower level studio and the water pump that was used when the shower was running was very loud and very annoying, so I would NOT opt for a lower level apartment, if booking again.
Excellent stay!
Stylish aparthotel, excellent location, very comfortable and very pleasant upbeat atmosphere and staff.
Studio apt not as great as the larger apartments
Second time here. Stayed in the smaller studio apartment this time and wasn’t as well equipped as the one bedroom apt. No coffee machine or even sachets.
Apartment was perfectly located, and only a 20 min walk from the old town and Waverley train station. Apartment was very clean and had all facilities needed. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Perfect stay in a great part of town.
This hotel was perfect for us! Comfortable, convenient, clean...all the important stuff. There is not daily housekeeping, which really worked for us, and plenty of nice touches to make our stay pleasant. Great staff, excellent breakfast to-go bag, and silly as it may sound, the shower is fantastic!
Clean and modern, well priced hotel in a lovely area in Edinburgh centre. Lovely, friendly staff who were more than happy to help and chat. Have stayed two years running and will return again!
Great location and facilities. Lovely staff and great property!
The hotel was within easy walking of both train stations and near all amenities. We had a warm welcome and full explanation of amenities. We stayed in an apartment on ground floor. It was clean, modern and provided everything we needed. Can recommended Native and would stay here again.
Great Hotel with rare parking space available
Pros: - Very central location -Really surprised with the good insulation in-between the rooms. Slept very well - Proffesional staff and very helpful - Secure parking available (needs to be booked). That is rare to have in Edinburgh. Cons: - No cleaning of the room done every day - Breakfast is not great. No continental buffet offered, instead they provide individual bag wich include small juice, porridge, and a biscuit. Overall I would recomend it. It is a great hotel to stay for few nights
Native - a Gem in the City Center
Native is a great hotel and location was perfect as it was not in Princes Street. Staff is great. There is a small breakfast available and we now love porridge. Laundry facilities are available for guests. No room service every day but staff will respond if you need anything. Definitely would stay here again next time we visit Scotland.
The property was shabby. A few broken/stained items in room (wardrobe/table/sofa). You had to access the room through cold service corridors with the laundry carts in them. Staff were excellent and the lounge area was nice.
I loved staying here. The rooms were very clean, comfy, spacious and equipped with everything you need. The property was quiet and the staff were helpful. I will definitely be staying again!
Great hotel/apartment. Perfect for our girls trip get away. Would also be great if staying on business with the kitchen facilities. Bed was comfy and had everything we needed. Good location. Still centre but also away enough to have some quiet space. Walkable to great places to eat and drink. Walkable down to the train station and across to the old town. Only slight comment, was you could hear when bathroom was being used in other room near by, clanging pipes, but nothing that bothered us. Staff were super helpful and friendly and hotel was kept in clean condition with a good aesthetic. Added extra of the grab and go breakfast bag was great. Recommend and would stay here again. Thank you so much ☺️
Super stay. Would stay again.
Great Stay!
In Edinburgh for a break as a couple. Hotel was central for all sites. Staff were very friendly and approachable and rooms had absolutely everything we could need! We used our Tesco points to help pay for the hotel through Hotels.Com which was even better!!!
Great stay
We only stayed for one night but will 100% be back. Amazingly friendly staff and fantastic location.
Highly recommended
Location was excellent, room with kitchen facilities had everything you’d need. Staff were very helpful. Was a slight delay in accessing the room but not long and staff kept up informed.
Great room
Pros: great location, quiet, free breakfast in a paper bag, kitchenette, comfy sofa, free coffee pods, fresh milk, quality linen, good smart tv Cons: if in sub-floor, the toilet and shower pumps can be quite noisy from the rooms and adjoining rooms.

We loved staying at this hotel with our three dogs! It was clean, a great location, and the staff were so friendly! Thank you
