10/10 stay: quiet, delicious breakfast, kind staff

Excellent. Super fast check in and check out. Easy to forward our luggage from the hotel with the help of staff. Buffet breakfast in Japanese style (few Western options) was a delicious and varied way to start the day. Our room was so tidy when we returned from sightseeing it felt like my mom cleaned it. 10/10 for cleanliness of rooms and hotel. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet. Bathroom and shower were wonderful with instant hot water and strong water pressure. Even though the hotel is a couple blocks away from the train station, the street is quiet at night. Can’t wait to return.

Great hotel

Fab location. Value for money. Would stay again

Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at thus far. The location is so convenient; about 5 minutes walking from the Kyoto Station, there’s so many food and shopping options within walking distance. The hotel itself was quite large and spacious compared to most Japanese hotels. The room and bathroom were kept very clean. The breakfast (sold separately) had Japanese style and western style options and the quality was amazing; I looked forward to the breakfast each day during my stay. There is a luggage storage area in the lobby with locks and lock boxes for safekeeping if arriving before check in times or to hold after checking out. The staff was so welcoming and helpful and made my stay that much more comfortable. If I ever return to visit Kyoto again I would most definitely stay here.

Less than a minute walk to the train station, very nice room. There’s a seven eleven inside the building you can go at any time.

Main pros: 7-11 connected to the property, right outside the Kyoto station. Main complaints: the washer/dryer did not dry the clothes well, the rooms are a bit cramped.

Good hotel close to Kyoto station

Good hotel. Close to the Kyoto station which is convenient.

Great location, just a few minutes walk to Kyoto station, which is key to travel and shop. We booked deluxe twin room, nice space, but the bed was too small to share with children (we are a family of 3), bit overall it’s comfortable.

Big, clean rooms, staff were very kind and polite, very close to transportation and food, buffet breakfast was top-notch

Overall I recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel, great location

Excellent hotel, wonderful breakfast, VERY nice bathrooms, and the in room entertainment setup was impressive. I've stayed at over 30 hotels in Japan and this place is definitely in my top 3. Only complaint was that the check in process was difficult because we were had 3 rooms reserved and had to go through the whole process 3 times. Will definitely stay here the next time we're in Kyoto

Great location easy to access from the train. We ended up having two different rooms in this hotel and going from the room with the queen to the room with the king was a huge difference. The room was a lot bigger as there were three of us. The staff here were so sweet and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a really good buffet. I definitely would recommend this hotel especially if you’re used to a typical American hotel. Stay here:)

Great place to stay near JR station

Close to JR station, spacious (especially coming from Tokyo and Osaka), clean. Easy check in and out service. Helpful staff. Will come back.

Location is good, right next to Kyoto station and the attached 7-Eleven is as always very useful. Check-in process was not good. We were instructed to use the check-in kiosk while there were people at the main desk not attending to anyone, which felt dismissive. The kiosk is a lot slower and more inconvenient overall than being attended to by staff. Otherwise the staff were polite and helpful. Free unlimited amenities in the lobby such as face towels, toothbrushes, coffee, tea etc. however no moisturiser, makeup remover, creamer/milk, or hot chocolate which I would have thought would be standard. Rooms were average. Larger than some that we've stayed in on this trip but the layout is not good, which makes it feel cramped. In particular having a very small gap between the TV console and the bed makes it difficult to navigate especially in the dark. There isn't much good storage for luggage except on the floor which makes it worse. TV is very useful as it also shows how busy the restaurant and laundries are. Bathroom is pretty standard. Included breakfast was good in terms of variety, though actual quality was standard. In particular having a good variety of fruit and vegetable dishes was good, since it can be difficult to get enough of either while travelling. Definitely the variety is the standout feature here. Though I note the hotel next door has a tray-clearing robot rather than relying on patrons to self-return trays (a policy that is only partially adhered-to).

Near new hotel in easy walking distance to train stations. Larger size rooms with 2 seater couch. Easy to get around. Taxi rank 30 metres away. Shops and dining options just a 2 minute walk away. Very convenient.

Wonderful hotel across from Kyoto station. It was a bit busy in late January, probably for the lunar new year. When we stayed here in October, it wasn't as bad. Can't get over how amazing the breakfast is.

Good location but no no onsen

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The hotel’s location is extremely convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, making it an excellent choice for travelers who need easy access to public transport. One of the highlights is the 7-Eleven store located right downstairs, with a special entrance for hotel guests. This was incredibly convenient whenever I needed a quick snack or drink. The hotel is very clean, and while it offers self-service check-in and check-out, there are always staff available if assistance is needed. Another great feature is the free luggage storage, available for hotel guests only. This was particularly useful after I checked-out and wanted to explore the city without carrying my bags. The storage options include both lockable lockers and open space with built-in locks for larger luggage. The lobby is spacious, with plenty of sofas and seating areas, making it a comfortable place to relax while waiting. The standard rooms are on the smaller side, with no built-in cabinets, but there is a small space to hang clothes. However, I appreciated the small sofa seating area and table in the room, which made the space feel more functional. The hotel provides laundry facilities on the 2nd and 4th floors, with four machines available on each floor. A big plus is that detergent and softener are automatically included, so there’s no need to buy them separately. The laundry area also has an ice machine and a microwave for added convenience.

The location is perfect. It’s just 3 mins walking distance from Kyoto station west exit.

Our check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, which we really appreciated. The stay overall was pleasant, and the rooms were clean. However, we did find the beds a bit firmer than we’re used to, which made it harder to sleep comfortably. Aside from that, everything else was great.

Very nice hotel

Rooms are smaller, but that is offset by the hotel's nice features. It is close to Kyoto Station, the breakfast buffet is very good, and the staff is excellent. Would definitely stay there again when visiting Kyoto.

Great location and hotel

Really nice hotel very near Kyoto station. You do have to pay a nightly city tax (200 yen) but it is all very legit and done by you on a terminal. Very nice breakfast but more Japanese than western. Kyoto station has more restaurants than you can possibly try.

Wonderful hotel!

Breakfast is excellent. Laundry machine is not enough that you need to wait for a long queue. Check out time at 10:00 is too early. All guests check out near 10:00 that you can’t wait a lift to go down.

Recommend..good breakfast..cheap price with perfection

All Via Inn hotels are amazing! The price is reasonable and the amenities are just right: Pajamas, TV, coffee, tea, toothbrushes, self-service laundry, (some hotels also offer) onsen, etc.

Just steps from the station

Fantastic hotel just 2-3 minutes walk from the station. Hotel was clean, comfortable and the rooms of good size. Buffet breakfast had a great selection and the coffee was hot and strong. Would definitely stay again.

Very economical option especially for solo traveler planning to spend most of the day to explore Kyoto. The room is compact but has everything you need! I honestly prefer it like this, so minimum waste and good for the environment. Most importantly, it is super close to Kyoto station and the Avanti mall where you can easily take the bus to KIX airport. If I were to travel solo again in Kyoto, I would definitely consider to book again!

There is a lot that is mechanized around check in and check out, and I would say that staff are not particularly welcoming. Perhaps more focused on efficiency than on people ? Great proximity to Kyoto station, however.

The staff are very nice and accommodating, could improve in English, but they are still quite good at it. Walking distance of the train station, and many nice restaurants.

The location of this hotel was very convenient, walking distance from Kyoto station. It has a 7/11 on the ground floor as well! The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was also pretty good.

Wonderful stay

I believe they remodel the hotel, everything is pretty fresh. Wonderful location right next to kyoto station. Like the interior design, simple but with smart space design. I basically check in n out myself. Not much to tell about the staffs.

Conveniently located next to Kyoto station, on the less busy side. Restaurants are limited on this side of the station, but the 2 facing the station (1 bbq and 1 ramen next to each other) are both superb. More food options can be found in Kyoto station, or just go over to the other side of the station, and there's lots of food. Hotel is great, standard business hotel.

Close to Kyoto station Shinkansen exit. Seven eleven in the same building as the hotel. Hotel breakfast was terrific with lots of Kyoto specialities to choose from, as well as Western breakfast food. Room was very clean. Very convenient for traveling around the city as we could hop on several busses or the subway at the station.

Super convenient, one block from the Shinkansen entrance to Kyoto station. Relatively new. Clean rooms, pleasant staff. There is a convenience store just around the corner. Choose an outside room, as there are some inside rooms that have no view.

No bottle of water in the room. Staff told me go to seven eleven to get water. Lobby looks like warehouse.

Excellent Hotel Overall

It was an amazing stay in Kyoto at this hotel. Great value for the money as this hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the Kyoto Station and easily accessible. The rooms are very large and comfortable and provided with all required amenities. I would most definitely return there and recommend to everyone.

Very modern hotel with easy access to Kyoto station. The 7-11 connected to the hotel was an added convenience! Many elevators for quick access to the rooms and an area to lock your luggage for free (just in case you arrive a bit early before your check in). Would return!

A comfortable hotel in a ultra convenient location

The room was very comfortable, compact and well designed. The table was high enough to eat from, very convenient. So close to the station and bus stop so getting around was fast and easy. Added bonus of having a 7-11 downstairs. Superb location!
