Super sweet family hotel, you get to meet three generations of them and they really do everything to help your stay to be fun and adventure filled!
We’ll done
A stay of two halves.
We only picked this place because it was the ONLY free room in Delphi for the second of the nights we wanted. We would have happily paid more for a more upmarket hotel. The first night there was a party of school children staying. The second the place was full of business people attending the Delphi Economic Forum (that was why all the rooms were booked.) Good: - View from the balcony in our room was stunning. (So good it made up for many of the negatives.) - Very welcoming - Comfortable bed - Great position for visiting Delphi - Breakfast on second morning was plentiful and calm. Bad - Room was tired - Bathroom was tiny and shower was handheld - Lots of noise from corridor of hotel (especially night 1) - Breakfast on first morning was very limited and noisy. Overall it was ok, especially if you are on a budget.
beautiful view in a modest but clean and functional hotel
Lovely
I had the most wonderful view. Since I only stayed for one night, there is little to say, but the staff were kind and helpful. It had a lovely atmosphere and the breakfast was good and plentiful, too!
Everything good. Cleanliness excellent. Great view from the small balcony. On the downside, one may need to call reception to make sure of immediate hot water supply; in some cases they turn on the heater ad hoc.
Beautiful view, friendly and welcoming staff. Very impressed by our staff at Hermes Hotel, definitely exceeded expectations
The staff were friendly and helpful. The balcony of the room had a spectacular view. Breakfast was copious.
Nice hotel, good location, great view, good value, breakfast was good and wifi worked very well. TV was tiny
Hermes Delphi Hotel is conveniently located with street parking available. Staff was friendly. We were a little underwhelmed with our room. Room was decently clean but had no amenities or extras. Bathroom was extremely tiny with no real shower (just tub with handheld attachment). Our bathroom looked nothing like the pictures on Expedia. Breakfast was incredibly disappointing with overcooked eggs, watery juice, and minimal variety. Again our breakfast spread looked nothing like the pictures. My husband and I didn't like the spread at all and ended up leaving and eating granola bars. Overall, a cheap place to stay that's conveniently located with nice staff. Just don't expect much. I would probably choose another hotel next time.
Choice location for scenic views and Delphi ruins
Choice location, very reasonably priced, for scenic views and study of the Delphi ruins,.... archaeological museum, and eateries.
Nice clean hotel. The room was nice and had ceramic tiles throughout and hardwood trim. Our room had a little balcony with a great view of the mountains and sea. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, had a pleasant stay at Hermes.
Good Hotel with Great views
Stayed there for 2 nights end May 18. Good views of the valley and the water from the bedroom balcony. We were warmly welcome by the friendly hotel personnel. Breakfast was ok by Greece's standard and the breakfast area also had sweeping views of the valley. The hotel was well located in Delphi being on the main road where most of the shops and restaurants are located. Walking to the museum is an easy fairly levelled 10-15 mins stroll with again good valley/mountain views. Hotel was very good value for price/quality/location.
Good price but has seen better days
Basic hotel that gets the job done. The hotel has seen better days but is comfortable and affordable. It is just a stones throw from the main drag and the historical site is a ten minute walk down the same road. For the price it is what is expected. There was a slight mold smell emanating from the bathroom but again it is an older hotel. I would stay here again. The older couple that own the place are great and super friendly
A very nice stay
We enjoyed the Hotel. Nice view, nice breakfast. Quaint little place with a friendly staff. We found the bed and pillows a little too firm but I suppose that is just personal preference. Loved wandering around the village.
Convenient to Delphi ruins
Fabulous view of valley and sea from room balcony and breakfast room. Great breakfast included. However, parking spaces are tough to find
Nice economic hotel near Delphi.
It was a last minute booking and the staff waited late for us. Room simple, but enjoyable and clean. Breakfast buffet was nice European style with plenty to eat. View from hotel is spectacular.
nice hotel on main street
Very nice hotel very conveniently located for Delphi museum and ancient site
Excellent Service!
Manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with lots of selections.
Very simple and basic
Watch out what you book. When I arrived the hotel wanted an additional 15euro to allow both my girlfriend and I to stay. Even though I booked a room with two beds.... the reception was not very accommodating. Also this hotel is very basic and a bit old, but you can tell it has been cared for and is clean. When built was likely a very nice place to stay. So if you're just looking for a place to sleep for a few hours it will meet your needs.
Small hotel
Hotel has limited facilities but is fine for a short stay. Lovely views. Parking could be a problem but we were lucky and parked outside on the road. Lots of places to eat nearby.
Not recommended
We prepaid - but they had no room and sent us to a relative's hotel. There were naked wires in the bathroom, blankets that smelled strange, and a balcony without a door to it. We could not stay there and went to a different place. There are many other places in Delphi to stay in - avoid this one.
Good location
The location is exelent, the view really gorgeous and beds are good. Unfortunately the bathroom and shower are really, really small.
Center of town
Nice hotel and a bargain, with great views of the valley below
Very good hotel in Delphi
This is a fine local hotel on the Main Street of Delphi. It is within walking distance to the archaeological site and museum. Friendly and good service; a typical breakfast of breads, fruit, yogurt and cold cereals. The ONLY inconvenience is that the water in the shower was cold in the evening. (So shower in the morning!). ☺️
Nice hotel with very good location, friendly staff that is accommodating. Rooms have a good view but the bed are a bit uncomfortable.
wow, great view
great view ,great price, great stuff :)stay here>>>
Very nice family run inn
This was a small town family run inn that made every effort to make the traveler's experience comfortable and pleasant in a place where very large chain hotels are not available. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The facility was very clean and adequate on the European model.
The View is Worth The Stay
This hotel is a gem. Reasonably priced, basic but very clean and relatively good sized rooms. The location is a 10 minute walk from the museum and ruins. The view from the balconies of rooms facing the Corinthian Sea is spectacular. Breakfast adequate with terrace looking out to the Sea. Parking is a challenge but not impossible.
Very adequate hotel
Clean, great view, nice people at reception. Beds hard. Breakfast meager.
Not so Great
We booked for Hermes, but when we arrived owner told us they didn't have available room,so he put us in Voranos. The problem is I paid $81 per night for Hermes, but Voranos is $ 51 per night. They are the same three stars hotels but Where is my $30 different then?
OK HOTEL IN DELPHI
Staff said we were lucky to get room although we had pre-booked and paid thru Expedia. The room we received was just what we had booked. Parking was far down the street, by the time we got back a large high school tour group had taken every room except for ours. Granted they were quiet during the night. The view from the half balcony was breath taking, mountains and the sea below. Room was clean, semi-vintage furniture, private bath. Breakfast in morning included was very decent. Staff in morning was pleasant and polite.
Great hotel
Perfect location and beautiful view looking on to the valley. Breakfast nothing special seems to to the case with hotels in greece. I would recommend this hotel.
In the heart of Delphi
Nice, boutique type hotel in Delphi with a great view. Decent breakfast.
Great location, views. Too noisy
Was expecting more because in hostels conditions re better usually just more people.we cud check-in only after 12pm even if our room supposed to be ready from a day before. Many places to eat close by, to buy cheap souvenirs, nice nature and views from our hotel room. From minuses - everything is well heard so we have heard talks of our neighbors, their cough and all those noises water and toilet do.. Breakfast is very nice.
Hotel Hermes, Delphi, greece
This is a nice hotel if you have a sea-view room. Upon check-in I was informed that the sea-view room that I had reserved was not available on my first night there. The room that was not sea-view was like a cave. The sea-view room was very nice. There was no elevator for the two floors above the main floor. The breakfast was good and the room was clean.
Excellent view on Bay of Corrinthia
Family run, good location to visit Delphes archeological site.
Nice balconies overlooking the valley
The staff was helpful when we needed to make a call. It was a nice, affordable, well located hotel. Parking was a minor issue. Breakfast was good.
Good hotel
Good location for ancient site, friendly staff, good breakfast. wonderful view over olive grove to Itea
close to ruins and resturants
lovely hotel, nearby shopping and many places to eat, very clean and comfortable with a great view of the mountains and the water in the distance
A place to discover Delphi
It was great, but the coffee at breakfast was always cold. The insulation between the room was a bit hollow.
Great hotel for a short stay to see Delphi.
Stayed here two nights on a tour of mainland Greece visiting the archaeological sites. Good value hotel well situated in the heart of the town. Within ten minutes walking distance of what you come here to see. Room perfectly acceptable for the price. Good breakfast. Spectacular views from the balcony.
Great
Centrally located, sensational view!
We had a wonderful two night stay on the far end of the second floor with a SENSATIONAL view from our balcony. The very small TV did not work, but that was not much of a problem, since we watch very little TV when we travel. The hand held shower head was a joke. It flooded the bathroom and ran out into the room. This is a problem very easily remedied if someone wants to take the minimal time to fix it. The cost of repair would also be minimal and would make it a LOT better for their patrons and the housekeeping personnel as well. Aside from that, our stay was great. The breakfast was minimal and boring. :-))
Room and staff
Need to improve quality of matress; all rooms do not have bath tube, only shower; staff very friendly and polite
Great location for travelers in Delphi
Great hotel in a prime location. The room was very basic but the view was superb. The breakfast was great too.
Great stay in Delphi
I stayed in the hotel 1 night. It is a great hotel. The reception desk is very warm and friendly. The room is clean with great view of the mountain and sea far away. The breakfast is great too.
Great hotel!
This Lonely Planet recommended hotel didn't disappoint us. Beautiful balcony with Delphi's fantastic views. Great service; efficient check-in; lovely little breakfast; perfectly-located.
Charming stylish Hotel
Great views from our room.Hotel cntral to town and easy walking distance to Delphi ruins.
Great stay
Great views from the balconies, very conveniently located (but, then everything in Delphi seemed to be :-)).
Stay here.
Hotel Hermes was our first stop on our 28 day Greek trip. Delphi is definitely worth the side trip. The site is great and the location of the town is a postcard sitting on the side of a cliff. The hotel staff's English was strong enough for all communication. Beautiful lobby and eating area. Room was simpler, but very clean. The view was to die for off our little balcony.
tired and dated
Delphi incredible, hotel just so so breakfast not great
We only stayed one night, but were given a room with a fantastic view of the surrounding area. The breakfast room was also situated with wonderful views of the valley and mountains and the food was quite adequate. The only real complaint was the lack of a lift to our room and so it was a struggle with our luggage to climb the two flights of stairs upon arrival, although my partner was given assistance by the proprietor once he realised she was having a problem.
Fabulous View
The family were very welcoming and as the number of touriss to Greece is low we were upgraded at no cos to a beautiful room with balcony view over the incredible valley of Delphi. Room was very clean and the owners very helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderful
Wonderful hotel, in center of town. 10 minute walk to delphi archeological site! Super clean and quiet with spectacular views of the mountains and sea!
If only Delphi's hotels could be avoided...
Unlike Athens, which now has a competitive market of smart good-value hotels, Delphi hotels seem poor and (because they cost much the same as Athens) very poor value for money. Most were last refurbished in the 1970s. Though hotel staff are friendly, customer service is also 1970s: for example hot water is turned off for two periods every day - doesn't make much difference in practice, but it illustrates an attitude. Many internet reviews say all this, so we had low expectations, and chose Hermes simply because it guaranteed a sea view at the time of booking and has big balconies from which to enjoy it. Hermes however seems to market itself primarily to student tour groups and when it has them - both nights of our stay - bumps individual travellers into the adjacent Varonos hotel. They seemed to think this was doing us a favour, but Varonos is just as basic and more importantly is set right back so its view is limited. The hotel staff at Varonos were exceptionally friendly and helpful, but the hotel management were not at all sympathetic to even the politest complaint, though they did eventually offer to relocate us into a particularly poor room in Hermes. Hermes room quality seems variable. Beware. The archaeological site at Delphi is very interesting, and not to be skipped. It is unfortunate that this of course gives the town's hotels a captive market. There are good restaurants in Delphi (eg Taverna Vachos) if you avoid those attached to hotels.
Hermes Delphi Hotel
Enjoyed our one night here. Staff were very helpful as I dealt with a car rental issue by telephone. Would have preferred not having our room below the dinning room so as not to hear the early risers getting breakfast, but would stay here again in a heart beat.
budget hotel with great view
hotel is a little old but has great view over the valley. Staff are very friendly and breakfast is ok.
Nice view and clean but disapointing...
The hotel was clean and smoke free with a nice breakfast and a wonderfully nice balcony view! However...... the shower was laughably tiny and dirty with poor drainage. Me and my wife expected a full/queen bed and all they did was push together two twin beds. Hot water did not work half of our stay...miserably cold showers. I would still recommend this hotel due to the lack of other better hotels in the area.
Fantasitc little hotel close to Delphi highlights!
This little hotel was really a pleasure to stay in. The location is perfect--walking distance to the museum and entrances to the ancient ruins, plus it is right in the town so everything is close. Parking was easy in the off-season right on the street, but I don't know how it would be in the summer. The views are stunning from the balconies and from the breakfast dining area/open deck. The hotel owners were also extremely nice and helpful, and there is a computer with wifi in the lobby. We had trouble getting connected to the free wifi but it does seem to be there--I think it wasn't working that well the night we were there. If you go in the winter (we were there in January) bring very warm clothes, as it does snow up there in the mountains and the wind can be brutal. Also the village was pretty empty in January, but a few restaurants were open for business. It was nice to see the ruins without crowds, but very cold. The only "4" I gave for this rating has to do with the temperature of the room, which was a little chilly for my standard but otherwise the room was very large and well outfitted. It was below freezing outside the whole time we were there though.
GREAT place!!
This was a fantastic hotel. Very affordable price, for what it offered... beautiful room with tasteful furniture, an AMAZING view out of our own private balcony!! Rooms were big, always had hot water, very close to all the historical sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. Definitely recommend: A+++!!
Friendly, convenient and comfortable
Owners are a friendly couple who are very helpful. Location is in easy walking distance to everything in Delphi and the ancient site is just a few minutes away. Rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. Be sure and get a room on the south side, away from the street for a good view.
Great location - Great value
I spent one night on a short trip to Delphi and was really impressed with the hotel. Service was good and it was right in the middle of town close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was pretty basic but this was expected given the price. Free WiFi was really helpful. Would recommend for budget travellers.
Lovely "olde worlde" hotel in Delphi with stunning views and great service
This is an excellent value family run hotel in the centre of Delphi. ten minutes walk from the historic temple. There is free parking outside in the road and it is in the middle of the high street surrounded by tavernas and shops. Our room had a small balcony with wonderful hilltop views down the valley and across to the mountains and sea. The rooms are on the small side and slightly old fashioned quaint, but the beds were excellent and the bathroom spotless with a great hot shower. The staff were very hospitable and friendly, they served a pretty good breakfast (the coffee was not up to much) but at the price it is amazing value for money.
I would stay here again
Great location! walking distance to sight.....beautiful views from the rooms ......very friendly staff!!!! rooms are simple and clean.....beds are hard, but I found that to be the case throughout Greece.....breakfast was simple but fine....this is a great value hotel!!! Perfect for one or two night stay.....we would stay here again.... ....this is a great value hotel!!!
Hotel Hermes Delphi
We noticed straight away that the shower holder was broken and asked to move to another room. The staff was only too happy to move us, but upon further inspection there wasn't a room in the hotel that had a shower holder that wasn't broken. So we stayed where we were. The view was outstanding. Unfortunately our room was under the lobby and the breakfast room, so we were kept awake by all the foot traffic pretty much day and night.
Amazing View, Location and Value
The sheets and beds could use an upgrade, but the view from our balcony and breakfast were unbelievable. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
We had a great view of the valley from our room. The hotel is very centrally located in town, not that there's a ton to see or do. Better than average breakfast spread and very friendly owners/staff.
Warm and Welcoming
The view from the room was fantastic. The staff was warm, welcoming and very accomodating. Would definitely reccomend this place.
Hermes Delphi Hotel
This hotel is a good moderately priced hotel on the main street in Delphi. We stayed there for two nights at the end of June 2010. Our one complaint: they ran out of hot water in the mornings. If you must have a shower, be sure to get up early.
Lovely view but more stairs
Very nice and value for money only there is no lift and you take your own bags up (max) 2nd floor, felt a bit like Robert Redford and Jane Fonda Barefoot in the park (more Stairs) The area is very touristy we decided against a visit to the local museum after seeing a little mug at 12 e in the gift shop.We stayed in three hotels in Greece this was the best in spite of the stairs.
Great stay in Delphi
Hermes Hotel is a family run hotel, and we were treated very well by all the staff. The views are incredible and the room was very nice, no issues. Parking seemed a bit random, you will need to find street parking, but parking seems to be an issue in the whole town, not just at this hotel. One thing we missed was no furniture on the balcony to sit and enjoy the great view, but we managed. The walk to the ancient sites is about 1/2 mile. The owner recommended a great restaurant nearby for dinner, and we enjoyed our stay.
Best hotel in Delphi
I have stayed in Delphi several times but this hotel was by far the best and I would highly recommend. The views alone are worth the money and we spent a lot of time just on the balcony admiring them. Family run hotel and excellent service.
Beautiful
We stayed at the Hermes for just one night. It was very convenient to visit the ruins at Delphi, which is why we had chosen it. To our surprise and delight, the hotel is located on the side of the mountain, with spectacular views. I highly recommend a stay here.
