Great hotel, fantastic location!
A great hotel in a fantastic location. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The hotel was wonderful! Just one minor complaint is that it seems like there are fruit flies (or gnats) in the room coming out of air vents.
It was in a lovely area. Not too far from shops, groceries, and public transportation. The two girls (I am forgetting their names-sorry!) that worked in the restaurant/bar were so friendly and hospitable. All of the staff was great. Would definitely stay again!
"4 star hotel" which doesn't even provide a bottle of water. Staff delaying check in process because they are occupied with their own chit chat. There is even a note in the room discouraging the use of food delivery to boost their own restaurant sales. Would not stay here again ever.
Property was in a great location just 2 mins from Hyde Park. Room was large and clean. Great breakfast options available and staff were very friendly
Well room on ground floor asked for quiet room but disturbed all night with trains...had window open for fresh air...
Amazing stay however..
Its amazing however, the man on the front desk I think was getting pissed off already as I was looking for my E visa on line. He says that I should have my passport with me at all times. Though Its my fault that I have forgotten to bring it but I still have another means to prove my identity in the UK. He is not approachable at all.
Pretty good but .......
Overall, a nice property and great service, but 2 notable exceptions. TV system displays over 200 channels, most of which have no content. For example, no BBC channels worked. Secondly, the 2 persons in charge of the breakfast service that I encountered seemed rather unapproachable. I took comfort that was not just for me, it was pretty consistent for everyone who arrived and went to give their room number. Quite surprising in comparison to all the other staff. Despite this, I would book again.
Highly recommend
Excellent location, staff very friendly, breakfast brilliant, room good one minor complaint was the mattress, which was a bit soft , but others may prefer that)
Great place to stay!
Exceptional service
Overall very nice hotel. Great breakfast.
Be careful with the cleaning staff they stole some of my valuables. The Wi-Fi was terrible and useless.
Fantastic place to stay. Excellent room and other facilities. Quiet but close to lots of amenities of central London, especially Kensington Gardens. Would highly recommend it.
Staff as always are amazing. I travel a lot for work and I must say it’s my favourite hotel to stay in
It was a very enjoyable stay. The staff were well presented , attentive and very helpful. I had a problem at checking were I was charged twice for my stay. The problem was resolved by the reception staff the next day and the monies returned to my account. The hotel was exceptionally clean . The gym was immaculate and the approach to the hotel , even from the street was very clean and tidy.
Checked in at 7 pm after a long day of travel. Asked to change room because it was very dark with one window that was a ground level and looked at a wall. Was told they were “full up and they had no other rooms. She also said if we arrived earlier that she might have been able to do something. Not a good response as it confirmed that we got the room that no one else wanted even though we pre-paid for the room.

Great!
This was an Executive room #014. We have stayed at Blakemore twice previously so we came back. This room is not Exec quality as the carpet is dirty and stained, it looks out onto a window well at the ground floor which is ugly and has debris and a ladder in full view. Toilet roll sits on the edge of the bathtub as there is no holder and sanitary bags are on the washstand counter. Not very discrete! As there was only one chair, not two as pictured in advertising, we requested a second chair which arrived in filthy condition. We attempted to change rooms, but this was not possible. Breakfast as usual was excellent as was the Concierge. We have recommended Blakemore to others but will not do so in the future because of this experience.
Incredibly helpful and kind staff throughout. A little out the way which meant it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was good
Nice hotel with wifi that doesn't work
The wifi didn't work and this was really a problem for a business trip. It would work slow for 2 minutes then stop working. The answer from the employees of the hotel was that they had too many guests. Unacceptable
Hyde Park gem
Great spot in Hyde Park area close to tube stations and of course the park. Very friendly - the breakfast was very good with lots of selection. Our only issue would be the size of the bathrooms- with door closed your knees almost hit the door- very tight. Shower was very nice however. We never spend much time in the room so was not too much of an issue 🙂
Highly recommend
My daughter's and niece stayed on the sunday night after seeing Taylor swift, they had a family room of which they were very happy with, it was very spacious and the beds very comfortable, will definitely book another stay when in london again
Nice refurnished near Hyde park hotel
The hotel looks very nice and clean with a modern design and refurnished. The staff were very kind and helpfull. The main problem with our room was that we had one window which was to a peer, so that it wasn't ventilated properly
Fab hotel
Have stayed at this hotel for over 10 years fantastic staff great location and a hidden gem for London close to Hyde park but also close to everything you need
Great customer service and lovely location.
Great property and friendly staff. The best neighbourhood to stay in
Nice hotel
I stayed at the Blakemore in 2013 and absolutely loved it. The price is very reasonable, the hotel is beautiful, my room then was large and comfortable with a very nice bathroom. That room was on an upper floor; our room this time was on the ground floor. The room was small and tight, and the bathroom was really small. It was hard to get in and out of the tub. The rooms each have an electric "do not disturb" light outside of the door. Both times I stayed there I had the "do not disturb" light on, and both times, the housekeepers came in anyway. Not happy about that. It isn't hard to see the red light; they need to be more diligent in checking that.
This is not my first day at this hotel, but unfortunately will be my last. The first room was like a sauna, the 2nd room, although the window opened, it was situated next to the kitchen extractor and so the room just smelled of cooking. The 3rd room have not been vacated by the previous occupants, and finally the 4th room, whilst cool, was on 2 levels with only an extremely soft double bed and a tiny shower cubicle. We left the next morning with back ache and shattered! On a positive note the foyer and bar area are very attractive, but unfortunately this does not resemble the rest of the hotel. Despite all of this, the staff were really professional and helpful.
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The location was good too.
Place was outstanding
Pleasant, nice location but slightly disappointed
Overall it's a nice hotel. We liked the location and bed was very comfortable. We didn't use any of the facilities during our stay. Our hot water wasn't working properly on the night we arrived. We called reception and someone came down but didn't seem overly concerned or interested that it was only luke warm (if that). He said he would inform at changeover but when we enquired the following morning no one seemed to know what we were talking about. This meant we had cold showers at the start of our trip. We were also frustrated at the fact we had booked that room as it had a bath and we couldn't use it to begin with.Thankfully, it was sorted by the time we returned from our day out on our first full day there.
Ice hotel - rooms tired
In an ideal location close to Hyde park and pubic transport, this hotel offers a great breakfast services and rooms and quite clean and comfortable with a nice warm shower in the ensuite. Only a short walk to many public transport options such as Bus, Metro or hop-on, hop off bus service.
We had an excellent stay at this hotel. We dropped our luggage off in the morning as we had just arrived off the sleeper train from Inverness. The staff at Reception were super friendly and made us very welcome. When we came back in the afternoon to check in, we found to our great surprise that we had been upgraded to a junior suite! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely stay here again.
Thoughts
We have stayed here a few times and we were slightly disappointed this time. Our room was on the ground floor beside the cleaners cupboard and a set of stairs, and had the electric charging points for cars right outside the bedroom window which were used on both mornings we were there. So not the quietest of rooms. Also the throw across the bottom of the bed had a scorch mark in the shape of an iron on it, it would have been better left off the bed. We were out and came back late afternoon to get changed to go to a show but the cleaners had only just got to our room so we couldnt get in at that time which made us need to rush to get sorted and back out in time. The tea bags and milk pots in our room were not replenished during our stay which was disappointing. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back, these are just a few blips that could easily be sorted.
Great value location, etc..
Only problem smell in drains...
Hotel is fine, really a 3 star Hotel. Close to subway which is good but be prepared to walk. Breakfast was convenient. Would not necessarily stay here again.
Fab Hotel
Fabulous Hotel - Walked into Hyde Park & down to Oxford Street...
Good location close to many tourist attraction
Location is good bed is bad
Location was great for my needs. Short walk to Hyde Park to get an evening walk in and easy access to good restaurants. The bed missed the mark though. Mattress was broken so bad it felt like I was sitting on floor.
A mixed bag - the room was clean and the fitness center was adequate. However, the wifi was abysmal (I don't mean you can't stream, I mean you can't even connect to the weather or any maps apps) and it was quite a walk to most places if there is rain.
Good hotel clean near tube. Bathroom very small. Breakfast was limited more vegetarian options needed. But enjoyed the stay.
There was an awful smell of sewage from bathroom room 419 in fact any room on that floor , overheard another couple complain about the smell, because we had already changed rooms from arriving and we out all day we just put up with it closing the bathroom door at night, it was absolutely horrible . We decided to never book this hotel again.
This is right down the road from Kensington park and place. Easy access to Queensway and Bayswater tube stations. Walkable to Notting hill. The bell hop Hussain was amazing and very helpful.
Good location near Hyde Park. Standard breakfast buffet. Twin executive larger than most European hotel rooms with desk, chair and another chair.
Value for money.
It was clean and in a pretty convenient location to transportation. There is a train that runs under/behind the hotel which took a night to get used to, but was not an issue. Food is within walking distance.
Nice hotel in nice location
Lovely property just a couple of minutes walk to Hyde park. Lots of restaurants around and close to tube station. Room was large, bed very comfortable, nice decor. Amenities all very good. Staff friendly. Would stay here again
Beautiful room and exceptionally clean!
Quiet location near lots of restaurants and transport. Upgraded room. Some slightly worn parts to room
Lovely hotel
Quiet location, perfect for us. Twin room on lower ground floor so no view but very clean and beautifully appointed. Mattress too soft for me and I prefer feather pillows and duvet but still ok. Breakfast was of good standard. Some items, porridge, pancackes, eggs benedict etc not included in b&b rate but still plenty to choose from standard continental or full english. Staff were excellent at every point of contact, helpful and friendly. I would stay again so must have been good and im fussy!!
Friendly and helpful staff
Nice hotel but TV didn’t work and WIFI didn’t work in our room. Staff were ok but not overly friendly.
Well positioned and close to the tube, shops pubs and restaurants. Very happy
Air conditioning worked great, which is rare for London. Good value for the money. Quiet and about a 10 minute walk from Paddington Station and Heathrow Express. Will stay again.
Close to public transport and shops. Pity the fan in the bathroom ran all the time -very noisy and the fridge was tiny
staff were very friendly and helpful. quiet location.
5 stars
I highly recommend this hotel everything is perfect
Very pleasant stay, staff were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is a short walk from Queensway station and great location to get to Paddington and into Central. The food at the hotel is average and overpriced in my opinion but the restaurant at front/terrace creates a nice ambience. The room was very nice, bed was extra large and comfy but there was some noise creaky floorboards from the floor above and the road at front of property does have quite a few cars passing by. The room had a large desk which was ideal, as was studying for an exam. The room however is slightly dated and in need of some general repairs, maintenance and modernising but would stay again and recommend highly.
Lovely hotel within walking distance of multiple tube stations. Located in a very quiet area. The room was very warm when we arrived and got uncomfortably hot unless you had the aircon on all the time. There was no toilet paper in the room when we arrived. We were charged to leave our bags in the hotel after we had checked out as our flight was late in the day, only a minimal charge but not something that I have come across anywhere else I've stayed.
Staff was nice and helpful. Property was clean and nice.
Nice friendly staff and good amenities at a reasonable price.
Anniversary break
Clean. Friendly staff. Room was too warm. Temperature control unclear. Breakfast was good but breakfast room was chaotic. Overall good stay
Friendly staff and quiet neighborhood.
A very comfortable and pleasant stay
Staff very helpful and polite, easy check-in process, and a very comfortable / pleasant room. Added bonus of a reasonably well-equipped weights / gym room!
Clean, updated
Great location and lots of options for on street (payable) parking but free between 10pm and 8.30am. The breakfast wasnt as great as i thought it would be but not terrible. Only downside of the stay was that the fire alarm kept randomly going off in the evening with no real evacuation and i was late gettjng ready for an event as a result.
Generally I was pleased with this hotel. It’s located near some shopping & tube stations which makes getting around London a simple process. It’s clean but not the quietest hotel. It seems to be a property created from a series of large row houses originally which means you can hear some floor creaking and noise from rooms above. But to be clear it is by no means noisy so sleeping is not a problem. The property is clean. The breakfast buffet has a wide selection of hot & cold options. The only complaint I have is the food & beverage is located in a relatively small room off the seating area making congestion a problem when busy. We ate early most days so there was no issue getting what we wanted quickly. Only one day we ate a bit later and the congestion really delayed getting food & coffee. The hotel staff are very helpful & did there best to accommodate moving rooms. The first room we had was located directly across from the elevator making it a bit noisy since people tend not to respect being quiet in the halls of any hotel. The room we were moved too was much larger & very quiet but we were not told before the move that the air conditioning was not working on that whole floor. This made for an uncomfortably warm night even though the hotel did provide a fan. The third & final room we were moved to was almost as large & everything was great from that point forward. For what you get the hotel is on the pricy side but all hotels worth staying in are expensive in London.
The room was not clean, started sneezing the moment we entered the room. Asked for housekeeping service (to clean) which took more than a day to respond to. There is no concierge service (struggled with carrying luggage) The staff at the restaurant (breakfast time) were not friendly at all. Locker room is a rip-off. Even to keep the luggage for few hours after the check out, had to pay 1 pound per suitcase. If you want to leave the suitcase for a day 5 pound per suitcase (no receipts:) )
This hotel is very clean and the staff are very pleasant if I had anything to say about nice day the only thing I found annoying was you could hear the underground quite a lot from the room I was in
Birthday week few things missing to make 4 star
On arrival found receptionist unfriendly she asked for our passport but as we live in the uk didn’t take one and she was abrupt about it found that if we didn’t have our bank cards she wouldn’t check us in she then argued where we had booked out stay with telling us we hadn’t booked with hotels .com she took payment on arrival then told me that if I wanted a VAT receipt then I would have to ask for one on departure which I did and again she tried to tell me we hadn’t paid with them told her we paid her on arrival and showed her card reciept she gave us in the end the other receptionist who could tell I was unhappy arranged a Vat reciept for me . Breakfast was a shambles in a room tiny room for the amount of people staying in hotel had to wait for a table or for them to lay one up from previous people that had sat there which also took them a long time and when you did get a table you couldn’t get out of table as other tables so close the chair wouldn’t open far enough also the top. The breakfast Buffett was in was so small you could only fit a few people in at a time so had to wait around and although we were down there at 8 am had to wait for warm breakfast to be refilled , room was nice with a nice view of london and housekeeping changed it over early every day , would say it needs a few more touches to be a 4 star , we’ve stayed in 4 star down the road we had water in the fridge topped up every day , fresh milk, staff going that extra mile,& not charging to open beer
We had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It was an easy 10 minute walk to Paddington Station to catch the Heathrow Express on check out day. Other stations nearby for other destinations. Nice large rooms with air conditioning. I would absolutely stay here again!
Rooms were nice and clean, friendly staff, offered breakfast and dinner
It was nice and convenient walking distance to Paddington station
Great service, larger than expected rooms. Could hear people walking about in room upstairs and occasionally hear subway going by. Excellent location to get to Hyde Park and Paddington.
The Blakemore was fine. The location was good...being walkable to Paddington Station. However, the drains in the bathroom smelled gross (like sewage). So we would keep the door to the bathroom closed...but housekeeping would leave it open, so our room smelled when we would return at the end of the day. At least the windows opened...so it didn't take long to air out the room. The fire alarm also went off 2 times while we were there. Just for a split second...like it was a mistake. We didn't have to leave or anything. But we were woken up out of a sound sleep, so the damage was done.
For a London hotel room, the rooms are spacious and in good condition. Room also very clean. Very easy walk to Paddington station, which has the Heathrow Express and key London Underground routes. Also an easy walk to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The only downside are the two very small elevators, which are very slow. One broke down during my stay. However, there are easy staircases to take downstairs when you are not dragging your luggage. There is a bar and food, but I didn't try it. There is a hot water kettle for coffee and tea, as well as a refrigerator so you can keep your own snacks.
We liked the location, easy to get to tube stations. The room was nice, but looked a little tired in places, there was some wall paper peeling and the bed base looked a bit worse for wear. Overall though, I would stay again, breakfast was fine and the staff were very friendly and helpful 👍
Worst hotel I have stayed in over the last 4 month
The wifi was SLOW and kept connecting and disconnecting the entire time. Staff we incredibly rude and black mailed me to pay a early check in fee to clean the room (which as it turned out was already clean and ready for me). There were rats living in the ceiling above my room along with constant loud foot steps. There was an air con unit but no remote which took hours for the staff to resolve. No matter how many times I went to the front desk the staff refused to help me. I couldn't get out of their sooner!.
Very nice hotel in a great location. Wonderful place to stay
Weekend break
We have stayed at The Blakemore before. The hotel continues to maintain it's high standard.
I had to storage my luggage for few fours and the reception charged me 1pound for each luggage, this is ridiculous!
Near Hyde park
This hotel is the best value for money in the area. Elevators are small and one wasn't working, but other than that good value.
Excellent
Always a pleasant stay here. Staff are excellent, good rooms and good location. Highly recommend
It was close to everything and easy to get to rail system
Very nice hotel in a great location
Great stay, friendly staff, very good service. Nice feel and touch of the whole hotel. The location is super, just a short ride from the very center of London. Having said that, the street itself, Leinster Gardens is quiet and nice to come back to after meetings or shopping "downtown". This is our "go to" hotel both for business and leisure.
Great location, basic rooms a bit old but good enough for a short stay in London.
Won’t stay again
On arrival my key to the door didn’t work , had to go to reception and they had to basically break into the door to get it open , I went out for the day came back and again the key card wouldn’t work so reception let me in the next day yet again key wouldn’t work in the door you think they would have fixed it , I was on the ground floor walls really thing could hear people upstairs and the under ground as I was that low in my room , very disappointed considering it was a 4 star ,
Decent!
Decent Hotel, not the best view but I was only sleeping there and I would say great value for a London Hotel. The bar (food and drink) didnt appear to open whilst I was there which was disappointing as I had to go out to get lunch?
The girls on reception were so friendly and professional and really helped us when we had issues with taxis. The hotel is right near two underground stations and about a 15 minute walk from Paddington so an ideal location for our trip to London. Hotel was clean and tidy and the breakfast was fine. Would definitely stay there again.
Very good hotel and location if staying on London for a few days. Very clean throughout hotel and comfortable rooms. I found the front desk to not have the greatest of service the few times I spoke to them, they seemed very busy like you were disturbing them by asking simple queries, I think that could be improved. The staff in general didn’t seem to always have the best way of greeting guests and could come across as being annoyed. Otherwise though an excellent place to stay. The lifts also seemed to need updating as one by my room kept being out of service.
Nice cosy well equipped room. The furniture and bathroom were nice and modern, comfortable bed, friendly staff and it was quiet! The hotel is also very well located.
Good location. Easy 10 minute walk from Paddington. Lovely reception and bar area. Good gym.
Short stop
Fantastic staff, really helpful and a great atmosphere
the place is well located, I have some issues with the staff
Unfortunately we ran into many issues at this hotel. Not only was a bag of souvenirs taken from my room the hotel but the hotel also didn't claim any type of liability & Christian (who can be found pictured on their home page) lacks any type of customer service & was extremely rude. I would not recommend staying here as half of our stay we had to worry about looking for my things & even had to dig through dumpsters ourselves in order to take initiative to find my items. Luckily 30 mins before I was leaving to go to the airport they found them in their loss prevention but at the end of the day none of the staff believed that I was telling the truth until they saw it on the CCTV cameras themselves. I would not recommend staying here unless you are ok with the possibility of the staff taking items from your hotel room while you're out & then claiming they are not liable for any of it since I signed a paper upon checking in.

Nice hotel in a great location
This is a great hotel in a good location, the staff were very helpful, only thing that was a miss that there was no water in the room, which you would expect from a 4 star hotel
