Excellent location. Just a few minutes walk from the Termini Train Station and Bus drop off and pick up. The staff were all friendly & helpful. Nothing too much trouble. I emailed several times to ask questions and I got a swift reply. We booked a basic double room, no frills but was very clean. I was worried when the booking said a large single bed. Was it big enough for 2 adults?. It was a very comfortable King Size bed. Didn't want to pay too much for a hotel, after all it's somewhere to shower and sleep. We left our bags and came back to pick them up. We had dinner one evening a few doors down from the hotel. It was nice. The waiters were very entertaining. I would stay here again if I visit Rome again.
Our family had an outstanding stay at the Ariston Hotel near Termini station. Despite the hotel being a bit old and boutique, it was fully functional, clean, and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the exceptional staff, particularly Francesca and Sabrina at the front desk. Traveling with a child in a wheelchair, we greatly appreciated their kindness, support, and willingness to accommodate our needs. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, providing a perfect retreat after exploring Rome. The genuine warmth and personalized care from Francesca and Sabrina made our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend the Ariston Hotel for its excellent hospitality and dedicated staff. Thank you, Francesca and Sabrina, for making our stay so special!
Room layout was inconvenient.
Good hotel
Area noisy & Rome dirty unfortunately. Room 148 bed fantastic Air conditioning not sure if working? Bathroom area dark, see through glass to shower not good. Staff friendly & helpful Area convenient near train station Termini
Great view and very relaxing
Very old building with some upgrades.
EXTREMELY SMALL ROOM! Passage around the bed is wide enough for one person. Bathroom has see through doors. Shower had good water pressure, but barely any elbow room. Breakfast is 18 Euro per person. Will try somewhere else next time in Rome. Only plus is proximity to the Termini.
Super convenient to the Termini rail station. The hot water was a limited.
Nice hotel, helpful staff and decent breakfast, good location
Recommend
Staff was so accommodating, place was clean. Good location.
Great stay at this place. Room is clean and cozy.
Very good.
Room was renovated, very clean when we arrrived. Daily clean could be better, but not a problem for us. Shower not very good, but water temperature was perfect. Breakfast was above my expectation. Staff friendly. Easy check-in abd check-out. Location is just perfect!! 3 min walking from Termini station, with mini markets and cafes around the hotel.
Meet my needs for one night stay.
Surrounds heading to the hotel was dirty, rubbish surrounded. My room smelled of sewage, the air on didn’t work properly. The city tax after checking out . Make sure you have cash.
Location of hotel to transportation, tourist attractions and dining was excellent. Breakfast diversity and quality was disappointing. Red wall and floor tile in commode and bidet area was appropriate to a brothel.
Perfect location for a couple of nights before cruising from Civacavechia. Located 2 mins walkfrom terminus station where bus transfers from airports drop off so convenient. 20 mins walk to city centre. Lots if bars and restaurants nearby.
Didnt recevie the free drink even after asking at the hotel, terrible service and the rooms had a bad smell not very clean either (beds and bathroom conditions could be much cleaner)
Its good walking distance from Train station
On the last day we were informed that the breakfast was not included on our rate. We were charged $80 for our 4 days of breakfast for two people. Also we ended up paying $48 additional taxes.
Fake fotos
All that I need from the hotel is clean linen and a gym. Therefore, when choosing a hotel, I looked only at gym fotos. These guys have fake gym photos. Fraud. There is no such gym and there is no leg press simulator. Not a single dumbbell or barbell. This is not a gym at all. We must pay tribute, the location of the hotel is very good and there is an excellent sports club in a 2-minute walk in the station building. 39 euros for training and you can go there. But I am upset by the deception. Yes, and more. I did not receive a drink as a VIP exclusive client, although I reminded about it.
This place was fine as a place to lay your head when needing to quickly leverage Termini for a night. I would not stay here as your stay in Rome as the hotel is tired and area around is very touristy. Like staying next to Times Square if you were in NYC. Also the amenties are quite tired. Again totally fine for one night.
We arrived early, left our luggage and went site seeing. Went back to hotel to check in at 1:15. We were told to wait since rooms not ready. After almost an hour waiting and several people that came in after us got their room keys we were told they had no rooms and they sent us to Hotel Morgana across the street. It was an awful place. Not very happy at all with how we were treated. Would not recommend the Ariston in Rome to anyone.
the breakfast was great and staff friendly. the shower was clogged and the sink didnt have a trap so there was sewer gas in the room; for a 4 star hotel, one would expect more
Great location. Clean hotel. Nice staff. Excellent breakfast.
Toilet broken and no vip benefit received. Staff are incompetent and room is small and has tiles missing from bathroom floor! Do NOT stay in this disgusting hotel, Not 4 star, would barely consider 2 star.
I love the location and the people working at the hotel are very nice, friendly and helpful
Disappointing Second Stay
We had stayed here before and liked it. We found this time however we were given an internal courtyard room with no outlook except into what can only be described as a prison block courtyard, dull, dark and full of steel work through steel shuttered windows which were closed and curtains drawn all the time. The room itself was very small with access to only one side of the double bed, no space for any additional seating, indeed we struggled with our cases on the floor for a two night stop. I have a bigger caravan I tow! I have to say though, small as it was, the bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable with clean sheets. The bathroom was tired and a bit more than dated. Although generally clean the shower was in keeping with the bedroom, very very very small. I struggled in it to properly shower. The shower drain hole was filthy and something we had to turn a blind eye to. Again with window and steel shutter that opened onto the internal prison yard. The window itself was no wider that 200mm…! I would however say that the maids did their best with what they had to work with. Breakfast was typical of Rome, but the service and quality just lacked that extra omph it needed. Not everything was available… take what your given and move on! Check in and check out was fine, no more or less complicated than anywhere else. However on exit my wife asked for a simple sticking plaster for a blister on her heel. The hotel didn’t have any…!!! What no first aid box? Oops….
Property is near the train station. Piles of Trash left in the streets. As soon as you walk out, you are acosted by street hawkers. Morning "buffet breakfast" is not a buffet. Food was less than appetizing. Cold coffee. Room was WELL WORN. Window went to a dark courtyard with fire access to roof. Wifi did not work. Power outage part of the day on our floor only.
Not thing better than Holiday Inn in USA or Hong Kong. Forget the international standard hotel rate in Rome. Rome is beautiful but hotel’s expectations/expectations are different.
Great location
The rooms have thin walls, you can hear people talking in next rooms.
Hotel was clean but room was very very small. Surrounding areas (roadway) are very rough and dirty with very sketchy characters lurking in the streets and following me to my hotel on 2 occasions. Be careful.
Liked the proximity to the Termini Station but the hotel looks dated.
The property is fine. It’s clean but a bit outdated. Good service. It’s near the terminal, which is convenient but a little dirty.
We were a bit disappointed with our stay at Ariston. We knew that Costco trips uses this hotel, so we thought it would be a safe bet to stay here. The Expedia check in says that it begins at 1:30pm, but the hotel told us when we arrived that it does not start until 2pm. Our room was not ready until about 2:45pm. They did offer free luggage storage when we were unable to get into our room. Our room did not have working AC. The hallway and lobby seemed much cooler than our room. After having hotel staff come into our room twice that evening, they were able to provide an oscillator fan. We were not offered compensation or another offer for the broken AC and were going to have maintenance review our day of check out. The room had one wall outlet (later found one in the wardrobe) that was partially controlled by the wall switch. Therefore, our fan took the plug overnight while our phones could not charge. We did get the breakfast and were disappointed with the "sweet" breakfast (pastries) which were a little hard and tasteless. The "savory" breakfast (eggs, meats, etc) looked better. Coffee was fine. The hotel is a very short walk (1 block) from Roma Termini, which is great to train/metro to other parts of Rome, Italy, airport. It is a 50 minute walk to the Vatican, 25 minute to the Coliseum, 30 minute walk to Pantheon, and 15 minutes to Trevi Fountain. Overall, the quality was a little lower than expected for what we paid for our evening.
I left my cell phone there and they were so gracious to arrange for delivery of it.
very bad
bugs and ant in room and heater not working and very bad ventilation and one day no electricity in my room and hotel not offer me any credit for no electricity very bad stay
Wonderful and quaint
Nice and roomy space - a little old and worn around the edges but a lovely bed - my wife said she had never slept on a more comfortable mattress and did not want to leave! It is not modern, but it is not overly worn either - and the staff were all perfectly lovely.
Find another hotel to enjoy the amazing city
It was a shocking experience, the room was dusty and the blanket not clean , there's no heating and the conditioner doesn't work so we couldn't even have a shower for 3 days because it was freezing. The breakfast is a disaster , there's no buffet and no menus to order, the servers were overwhelmed and they don't speak English so we couldn't ask for anything except uncooked scrambled egg and cappuccino that ended as an espresso in my table , so we had to go somewhere else to have breakfast even we paid for breakfast in the hotel. The only positive thing in the hotel is the location that is close to transportation and you can go everywhere to explore the city . Beside that there's nothing in this hotel that explains the 4 stars .
Quaint snd very convenient
It was close to the train station. The breakfast was good. Room was good and clean. But not enough pillows, when u ask for more they said that everyone was gone and couldn’t get any more pillows. I didn’t know they control A/C from the front desk. After trying different ways I call front desk and they said they would turn it on then I call back they said they did turn it on but it was not working so they were going to send somebody next day to fix it. So we had to sleep in a hot room (after a hot day outdoors) We left next day to go for tours when we come back that night (around midnight) they said we need it to move to another room cause the A/C could not be fix. We went to our room to pack the key to the room would not work. We had to go back to front desk to make it work. Then we move. But the time we were in our new room it was around 1 am. The room was nicer but smaller. I’m not coming back!
Unhappy return customer
This was my third time staying in this hotel, first it was good because they put me at 2nd floor where rooms are much nicer and roomier. Second stay, they put me 1st floor where room was terrible, you can barely move in shower and I am not fat. They put me in the same room third time. Really disgusted. You are really paying only for location. Will not come back.
Friendly and clean throughout. Very close to the station. Nice to have drinks station available during the day.
Good place and will stay again.
Have stayed here several times. 1 minute from station and airport buses with good metro and bus links into the city. Very good hotel with an excellent breakfast and good sized room. €6 each person each night city tax is disgraceful but not the fault of the hotel. You have to pay cash. The only complaint is one of the receptionists chewing gum while serving. Not Good!
The air conditioning was too weak. The front desk did not provide more than 1 key and we were a family of 4.
Good location very close to Termini station. Room was large and clean, staff friendly and helpful.
Even I message about my arrival 1 day ahead, I still don’t have the room until the second day. They sent me to another hotel for the first night. Another issue is the room key. They only provide one key per room. This is inconvenient. There are times that I go out while my wife sleeps in. To get back into the room, I have to wake her up to open the door.
Ariston hotel
Decent hotel in good position for public transport. Friendly efficient staff, comfortable and good breakfast that caters for most tastes . Restaurants across the road were pleasant.
Perfect location and friendly staff. Biggest breakfast buffet I've seen.
Moved us to another hotel that wasn’t what we paid for. Whilst it was okay, the bed was rock hard and the facilities were older. Also the floor needed a good sweep as we couldn’t walk around in bare feet. Thankfully the shower pressure was good, so at least I had a good shower.
Location, stuff very helpful. Breakfast is good and the bar areis excellent.
The room was not as nice as I expected based on the hotel’s rating and photos. It is located a block from Rome Termini train station providing easy access transportation. However, the area around the station is busy and a little dirty. The neighborhood several blocks further away is cleaner with better restaurants to chose from.
Air conditioning wasn’t working, too hot to sleep, tiny room with almost no day light as shutters can’t be pushed out fully. Only one power socket which is lower almost on the ground, so you can’t charge charge phone and use kettle at the same time. This is the only hotel that demands city tax to be paid in cash even though they took our credit card. Overall really bad experience.
Room in no way resembled the pictures of the room choice I had selected when making this trip. On arrival, room was so small I could barely get into it, barely had room for the bed. Mattress was very hard, and didn't sink at all when I sat on it, didn't even have a full headboard. Walls were so thin that could hear neighbors and people in hallway as if they were in my room. Room had no natural light or ventilation. It was very stuffy in my room, but there was no temperature control. Was told at front desk that the "city hasn't permitted them to turn on the a/c yet this year"--but couldn't even turn on the fan? Temperature controls in my room serve no point then! So they brought a portable fan to my room, which used the only free plug I had to charge my phone. Bathroom light could not be turned off. Shower stall had mold, and was so small I couldn't even turn around inside of it. After first night, I decided to get a different hotel a block away, even though my stay here was non-refundable, and new hotel was 600 EUR more. Came back to my room and my key card didn't work. Went to the front desk and asked for card to be fixed, and manager proceeded to give me the third-degree about why I had clicked the frown face in my Expedia email asking about my stay so far. I didn't want to talk about it (didn't know the hotel would even be notified of that by Expedia and that they would know it came from me!) and just wanted my key card fixed, so I could pack my luggage and move out.
We had a very good stay at this hotel, the staff were so helpful, I would recommend this establishment to any one staying in Rome (a big thank you to all the staff)
Excellent hotel! Great location near train station
The air condition was making lots of noise, everything else was great
Great for a short break
Excellent location for easy access to Termini railway, Metro and bus station. Plenty of good places to eat only a short walk away. Hotel breakfast was good with lots of choice hot or cold.
What I didn’t like - there is only one small lift in the hotel. I was unable to reach the reception by phone and had to go to reception every time I need something. I wasn’t provided information paper and it wasn’t in the room regarding internet access. TV - very difficult to use, most of the time it was stating no signal found. No slippers, no hair conditioner. You will think that very large and heavy hairdryer will dry quick, you will be wrong. Likes: rooms are clean, enough towels. Beds are firm and comfortable, safe in the room, internet speed is amazing, breakfast is nice.
Nice hotel near Termini Station. Very convenient. Very friendly staff
There were some initial problems checking into our room, but the staff handled the difficulties with grace and diplomacy. They compensated us for our inconvenience. The staff was efficient and friendly throughout our stay.
Excellent location close to most tourist attraction, can walk to most within 15-20 minutes, Vatican about 60 minutes walk.
Great location and comfort
Was comfortable and great location
Staff were very accommodating. Hotel was just as expected.
Good breakfast
Very good buffet breakfast. Very convenient location close to railway station and highlights. Lots of restaurants around serving not only Italian food but also indian Chinese.
Nice hotel
Nice hotel that is very close to the Termini train station. The staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean although the bed was uncomfortable but I can sleep on anything after a day of walking. The breakfast was included and had a large selection.
Family Vacation (2 adults, 2 small children)
Very close to Termini train station. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. 5min walk to train station and city seeing bus stop. Clean hotel and fairly modern. Great breakfast selection. Friendly staff. Elevator available.
Last day. Front desk representative, try to charge us more for loundry. Recite shows 13 E, he asked us for 20E Second of all, the same guy told us,that we have to pay for taxi (from hotel to airport), 80E. We order different taxi, and we pay only 30E. Very on professional!
Outdated. Otherwise ok.
Outdated and overpriced hotel, very small rooms, lost power 3 times, plumbing in th shower does not work well. Room smelled like rotten egg at times. Otherwise ok.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The check in was very slow.
Great hotel near termini station
The hotel was very comfortable, centrally located near the termini station, and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also plentiful and had a good variety of foods to choose from. Would definitely return if in Rome again.
i got a very small room. The room was no more then 2 stars. In the shower was no where to put the soap, only on the floor. after my complaint I got a better room but he was partially equipped. The breakfast was poor for a 4 star hotel.
. Nice hotel close to train station. Close to nice restaurants and 15 min walk to coloseum
Lovely friendly staff - every single one of them! Room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was a little old in places and the pressure of the shower was terrible but at least there was warm water! Everything was clean. The breakfast was great, more than I expected!
Great staff
Staff is friendly, super helpful and customer oriented. Special thanks to Alessandro, Elena and Ricardo! The quality of the staff is the key factor that makes us to recommend the hotel.
Good location close to Termini train station
A good hotel presented well with friendly staff. A complimentary drink was given on arrival. The lobby and bar area were finished well to a modern/contemporary feel. The room was a little tired/dated however we understand some rooms have been modernised elsewhere in the hotel so know what you are booking. The bathroom was set up as a wet room but unfortunately the shower screens did not fit well and allowed the water to leak out across the floor so we had to pile towels up to mop up water! The beds are ok but not as comfortably as say a Premier Inn or Travelodge in the U.K. Pillows were very flat so we asked for some more. The extra pillows were as heavy as a bag of potatoes and as hard - we have never experienced pillows like them! The breakfasts were good with a good choice of food hot and cold to cater for different nationalities. The hotel position is handy for local buses and approx 15/20 min walk to lots of attractions. The staff were friendly and able to recommend some good local restaurants for both pizza and pasta meals. You will be approached dozens of times a day by immigrant street sellers around the streets of Rome. They got very tiresome after a while as they are persistent. They currently sell selfie sticks, chargers, umbrellas and lumps of slime for kids that they throw onto boards whilst making an annoying squeak sound with their mouths! All in all we had a great time with 2 young boys aged 15 & 11. The Italian architecture cafes and attractions are great
GREAT STAFF!!
The staff were great. The location was good because it was closed to the train station. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were the best I have meet. The neighborhood has too many aggressive salesman trying to sell you tours and African souvenirs. The pictures in the web page does not show the actual condition of the hotel.
A very good modern and updated hotel
The room remained cold inspite of raising the thermostat temp multiple times. Otherwise a very clean and good hotel.
Too hot, sensor fire led in front of us when we try to sleep, bathroom without real door!!!
Location
The location is excellent. We were surprised with the appearance and staff. We were not expecting much coz we didn’t pay much. The service was excellent!! The buffet is delicious and bountiful. Highly recommended for people who plan to ride the trains to different cities in Italy!
Nice convenient hotel near the Termini.
I really enjoyed everything about this hotel. The downstairs is decorated very fashionably. My room was adequate. I did pay for the cheapest one. The receptionist ordered a take away breakfast bag, since I was checking out at 5:30am. They gave me an excellent selection of food and drinks. The local area at night is a bit questionable. I would use caution walking late at night. Personally, I would not explore the area in the evening. This is not the hotel’s fault. 2mins to the Termini is a real bonus.
Nice hotel with modern rooms.
This is a very clean hotel that has been recently renovated. The beds were comfortable and the decor was colorful without being garish. The breakfast was very good with a lot of menu variety. Given the condition of the hotel, the rates are reasonable. If you plan to arrive or depart by train, the closeness of the train station is a major convienience. You can walk there, even carrying luggage, in five minutes.
Nice hotel in the heart of Rome
Boutique type of hotel right in the city. Beautiful room, clean, and a nice size. Staff very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. If I ever get back to Rome, would book this hotel again☺
The web site pictures do not accurately represent the actual size of the room...it is tiny without any outdoor light.
Close to train station
Good location to train station and colosseum. Also got stop one of green light tour nearby which was great. Room was fine but not 4 stars.
The hotel room had a very strong peculiar smell....it gave me a head ache.
So, so!
Stayed on this hotel without shower heater, according to the staff, there was a problem because it rained,so pray hard that when check in to this hotel,it will not rain.
Across the street from the Rome Termini station
Stay was disappointing. No hot water to take a shower. The staff didn't even mention it or warn us upon check in.
Rome for a day or two
Hotel is very close to Roma train Stn so a real plus for short stays. Also not bad for walking to famous attractions. A bit far for high end shopping and dining. Room tiny but that's not unusual for Europe. Service and breakfast excellent.
A few days in Rome
This hotel is very convenient to the Roma Termini train station and a number of buses. The Ariston staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was well stocked.
perfect location if you're using Termini station
Good value for money, we wanted to be near Termini because we were travelling around, and this seemed a good option. There were lots of other options but I felt this was very good for the money.
Good hotel!
Excellent location. Good hotel! Convenient to Termini train station and very safe area. We got in early too!
Perfect for a quick stay
Good breakfast , nice size room , good for a quick stay
Clean modern hotel Close to termini
The hotel is ideally located a short walk from termini. The hotel staff were welcoming and had our room ready early. The room was clean and modern though the shower cubicle was on the small side.
Good, convenient hotel near Termini
The staff was helpful and welcoming. The room was quiet and clean, but perhaps not dark enough with various small lights from various electronics shining through the night. In particular one small light that was on constantly on the ceiling above the bed. The buffet breakfast in the morning was good. Very close to Roma's termini station which makes it a great overnight stay when arriving to or leaving Italy.
Nice hotel, close to train station
Nice hotel and close to termini train station, but I didn't like that area of Rome
Disappointed
Very cramped quarters. Bathroom right next to bed with only glass between. No room service
Dissappointing
They will switch hotels on you and tell you they are upgrading you when they aren't.
