Pretty much we expected and it was a great place. I hate to complain but there was a smell in my room that pretty much knocked you over when you walked in. Best way to describe it would be to compare it to a mix of drain cleaner and ammonia. When I got back home and put my CPAP machine on…oh dear God it was that smell again! It took two hours to air it out. Great everything but being able to breath and not wanting to go in your room was a serious issue. I’m not a wacko that leaves bad reviews but this was way over the top bad.

Aged property past due for updates and renovations in all areas. Convenient for Cocoa Beach, NASA, and surrounding areas. Can get very crowded in-season and for holidays.

Stayed for a week with family. Great location. Room is huge, clean and had everything we need. Very happy with my choice to stay here. Pool area is great for kids, they had a great time. Will definitely stay again.

Everything was great

We stayed at the Westgate for two nights for a staycation from Orlando and we all had a blast! The rooms are beautiful and spacious! Our kids had the best time. Everything is super clean and comfortable!

Great for families or travelers who need the extra bedroom space.

I did book a room with 3 bed as we had our 2 teen kids with us .. they decided to upgrade the room to 2 kids, with out asking kids where not happy sharing a bed .. called the front and all other room where gone . Not really happy one kid had to sleep on the couch

Everything was awesome!….Sue the bartender was awesome!. Atmosphere was great! I did this resort 5 stars but there was one big issue…there was a security guard that was one of the most rude and arrogate security guards I’ve ever came across which did put a big damper on our vacation. I never did get his name but if you see a Native American security guard with a pony tail…look out! Also just a little thing…we wished they had bigger beach towels

Muich More Than A Hotel Room

Great place for a crew of 3. Clean and comfortable!

The incessant telephone calls for timeshare sales to become a member of the timeshare was intrusive.

The outside pool area was fantastic, activity deck playing music was great! As well as the type of music playing. It varied as just wasn’t all pop, loved the 90’s rock that was in there! The tiki bar was a huge plus as well and Summer the bartender! She shared all kinds of local places to see, eat and made the best drinks. Hats off to her! My only complaint was they ran out of sand necklaces for the kids on the one activity. I guess just being more prepared, both of mine as well as others didn’t get to participate bc of that. Kids have bigger feelings..

Honestly, the place doesnt look like the photos. This was an old motel that has been renovated poorly. The rooms themselves and the splash pad were great(however, the beds are extremely uncomfortable)....but the only food option is the bar where you'll receive extremely overly priced food you cant even stomach. We were made very uncomfortable by several staff members for being part of the LGBTQIA community and accessing anything was very inconvenient. There are no elevators, so you have to get your luggage up 2 flights of stairs if you're on the 2nd level. Highly dont recommend. In no way, shape, or form do I consider this to be a "resort".

Overzealous on the time share ad.

A lot of activities during the day for the kids to do. Pool, splash pad & the lazy river were really nice as well for the kids.

Close to Port Canaveral. Right on Cocoa Beach

Too much self service. There were a number of insects in the room. And a stale smell in the kitchen. The suite floors were very dirty.

Good vacation great location

We had a great time and enjoyed the vacation the only issues we had is the actual room, although it was nice it was not maintained as well as it should be in my opinion, it was an expensive room and some of the finishes were not up to par as to what I would expect a room of that price should be. Some of the lighting in the ceiling were falling out, the bathroom was very small and tight and the room was smaller than what it looks in the online pictures, the exterior door had paint falling off of it. All in all not bad but the rooms need some better upkeep for the price they charge

2 seniors with 2 children age 11 and 9. Pros:pool, lazy river,splash pad,proximity to the beach, kitchen with the dishes, utensils and pots and pans, large enough that we had our own space. Cons: very noisy with music blasting so loud that we could not talk to each other at our kitchen table, yelling at the pool continued after the music stopped, coin operated washers and dryers are under the stairwell with the coin changer often out of change. This is not an inexpensive resort so don't nickel and dime people who are just trying to pack clean clothes. Check in is 4pm, we arrived at 5pm but our room still wasn't ready. After getting up at 4:30am to catch our flight it was disappointing, no apology offered. At check in you are directed to a desk for a welcome package, a ploy to get you to go to a time share presentation. When we declined, the guy didn't give us the WiFi password saying we could get it once our room was assigned, really just to get another stab at convincing us to attend the presentation. We asked for late check out (noon)as our grandson was attending camp at Kennedy Space Center so we couldn't leave the area - a resounding NO - it is ok for them to keep us waiting but not the other way around. As we could use the amenities we loaded the car went to the pool with our granddaughter to find the pool closed. It didn't open before noon when we left, it was closed all day our first day there.

Mini vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at westgate. 3 night relaxing on cocoa beach, was great. Lots of stuff in walking distance. Hotel was great! Parking was a little tight, but still possible.

Overall good but kind of updated. Also, the floors in the rooms/apartment were so sandy when we checked in. Great Tiki bar - great waiters there and very good drinks.

Love the room, water park, the cleanliness, also location, beautiful place.

Pull out couch mattress looked like it was taken off a street corner.

Nice property. I like fresh air. None of the bedroom window casements worked. All handles were broken and cranks didn't work.

Great location, perfect for families with kids. Our room was wonderful, did struggle with the air conditioner not working glad it wasnt midsummer yet. Staff was great and kids loved it!

Everything is all in one place, fun for the kids

Great room setup, pool variety and close to beach! Perfect choice for spring break with children. Tons of activities ands very close to Kenney Space center and eco tours. Highly recommend!

Family friendly

The property advertised a water park feature with water slides. We arrived to discover the water slides are gone and the resort didn’t mention this on any of their marketing or website. Our children (5 & 7) were very upset the Waterpark wasn’t there. So we spent our first couple hours upon arriving with crying upset children. Horrible way to kick off a vacation. Additionally our shower was broken in our room. This resort is not worth the rate they are charging. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The parking is very tight. Not much room for bigger cars.

Not as advertised

The first few days were not so good. The dishwasher was completely rusty The dishwasher was completely rusty trays and bits of the tray were falling off. Both trays in the bottom of the fridge were very difficult to remove as the top shelf had broken. In the master suite bathroom, one of the taps leaked from a joint continually and made the floor wet. We had only one small frying pan so oven. Top cooking was difficult. There were also no oven trays to cook items in the oven. These problems prompted a request for a move. There were four of us, so the best part of the morning was taken up moving from one accommodation to the other. In fairness, when we spoke to the management about her problems, they tried to make things right by offering a reduction. We had very noisy neighbours above who continually move furniture around tWe had very noisy neighbours above who continually move furniture around late nights and very early mornings. This led us to believe that there was no sound insulation between floors. Our suggestion to them to add felt pads to the bottom of tables and chairs would certainly help to alleviate this problem. This problem was more apparent when the cleaning staff were servicing the apartments.

Excellent location and although we are still stuck in FLA from an accident,at least we are well rested from the hotel.

The children's water park is closed and under construction. Workers are cutting up concrete and the noice and dust was terrible. Did not make for a relaxing time. I felt the resort should have advised in advance of reservation that this was happening.

Perfect location for watching the rocket launches and BBQing onsite.

Clean and close to everything.

It was very clean, and family orientated. Even though it was an older property it was well maintained and updated. Very accessible yet secure and quiet after 10pm; great layout, the only issues were the splash park was under construction, and we were never informed of this prior to arrival {that was our main reason for choosing the property} and the only "restaurant" didn't have a full food selection the first night so we ate out each night--which wasn't a big deal since every restaurant we tried had excellent food and was close by.

Picked this hotel because of the advertised splash pad / water park for the kids, upon arrival was told it had been removed, very disappointed.

Great place to stay. The rooms are the size of an efficiency apartment. Very clean. The staff was very accommodating. Did lots of walking. Shopping all near by and the pier was approximately a 30 min walk on the beach. The only complaint was that even though the pool was heated, the lazy river was not.

Water park was great but lazy river and splash pad water was too cold. Pool water could have been slightly warmer but okay.

Great pool area, fantastic for kids. Lots of entertainment... and cool Tiki bar. Anything you need they are happy to get it for you. Even a couple security guards roaming the property. Very well run!

Would stay again

Property itself was well located with nice staff and great room layouts. The sales job upon check in was less than ideal. Understand it’s a time share property but even when we said no thanks she said she had to keep going because it’s her job. Bartender by the pool was sweet and helpful. The shuttle to the pier was also a great perk. Would stay here again.

Great for little kids, short walk to the beach which was amazing! Surrounded by small shops, local fast food chains (again great for little kids), yet local eateries also near by for the adults. The only issues we had were the thinness of the walls- we could hear the couple next to us talking at night and a family with little kids running around. It took a bit for us to figure out the hot water, but we got there. This is a timeshare community, so it’s up to you if you want to listen to their pitch- they do pay you for your time, but it was supposed to be 60 mins and it was 105 (1 hr 45mins) which was hard with little kids sitting there. Overall great!

Great location. Staff was wonderful. Property exposed to streets and front building is very noisy all day and night long. Anyone can walk onto property to access room, even though some of the parking (not ours) was semi-secure. Great bar, great people, older infrastructure.

Be ready to be hounded about doing a meeting for a time share. We got a note on our door daily. The layout was not gteat if your in building one. Plenty of room in the place.

Overall this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend anyone to come here on top of that was overcharged

Family Reunion

Perfect spot for a family with small children the property is geared towards children. We stay here each summer.

Loved the short walk to the beach and the rentals that were on the beach. The shower glass was not caulked and sealed so it leaked water all over the floor. The beds weren’t real comfortable. There was no carpet in the room which was good since it is a beach resort, but a broom would have been nice to have in the room for sand clean up. You could hear every move the people made above us even when the toilet was flushed. Overall it was an ok place to stay.

We were told that there was a gym. There wasn't. The pool was closed for maintenance. They said that they emailed us - no one in our party received any communication. The food at the Tiki bar was terrible. We ordered nachos and the chips were extremely stale. We were told that beach chairs were included - they weren't. Begrudgingly the front desk allowed us to get 4 chairs for the 10 of us. We were told that there was a free shuttle van to the pier. They shut it down before dinnertime. We think it is because there were not a lot of people at the hotel. They also had listed some activities by the pool area. When we asked about it, the person told us that the activities weren't going to happen since there wasn't a lot of people staying there. So, no water ice for our group. I would NOT recommend staying here.

The place is great especially for kids.

Staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. Anything we needed was a call or text away. I had two little kids 18 months and 3 years old. Even though there was storms during our stay we able to grab some activities from the activity center to keep us busy in our room until they cleared and we were able to enjoy the pools and sun again!

There are 2 nearby grocery stores which was nice. We didn’t use them but they have gas grills if you wanted to cook on the grill. Enjoyed the hot tub, pool, lazy River and beach. Staff were helpful. We ordered food and drinks from the pool bar which was very good. It would be nice to have housekeeping during our 8 day stay, but we made it work. Couldn’t get Netflix to work on the tv, it was also limited to 3 devices on WiFi at a time which was hard since there were 4 of us. We took the shuttle down to the Cocoa Beach pier which had some stores and we ate at a restaurant overlooking the beach and watched the surfers. We drove into Orlando which wasn’t too far. We had a great time.

This was our second year at Westgate. It’s so great for our family w 3 kids. The beach was so windy but the pool and lazy river were great!

Overall it was ok but compared to other westgate properties I’ve stayed at, it was subpar. For example, the wifi was terrible which made it very frustrating to use for a party of 6 visiting from out of the country. As well, the dishwasher should have been upgraded with the renovations. I also recommend installing hooks both in the from entrance and all the washrooms.

Loved this property. Perfect for a get away with young kids. Friendly staff and very clean. I wasn’t aware at the time but if you want your room cleaned or restocked during your stay you need to request that. Not an issue for us and we plan on returning.

Excellent stay. Condo was a little dark but clean and updated. We had everything we needed. Our room was right by the bar. We thought it would be noisy but not at all. Lazy river was warm and fun. Super easy walk to the beach. Food and drinks were awesome. Highly recommend

Great place to stay! We stayed for a couple nights with the our kids.All of the pools are heated (splash pad, lazy river, main pool and kiddy pool and a hot tub) . They had cute activities for the kids to do throughout the day. Beach access is just a short walk. Everyone was very friendly. The rooms were nice as well.

We had a great time. The kids enjoyed the splashpad and we enjoyed the drinks at the tiki bar. The place was clean and the service was friendly. The only thing I didn't like was the timeshare presentation took longer than expected. But we will definitely come again.

This “resort” was NOTHING that we expected. For starters, it’s a timeshare, not a hotel. There is no room service and the beach is farther than they stated. The room was filthy! When we opened the pullout couch, there was blood stains on the mattress. We will NEVER stay here again!

A+ Stay

We had a delightful stay! Room was beautiful and very comfortable. Within walking distance to the beach (which is why we chose this resort) and as a bonus, had a pool / lazy River / Kid Splash Zone which the family took full advantage of. We were surprised to learn of a Falcon 9 launch upon check in and was able to go to the beach to see it launch - what an unforgettable memory! Overall, it was an extremely pleasant stay!

This place is great for kids. However, I don’t really know what exactly was going on while we were there. Large groups of loud people seemed to be having parties and cooking large amounts of food on grills in the pool area. Seems this place can’t decide if it wants to be a nice resort or a party destination- unfortunately it’s difficulty to have the best of both worlds. There were also no windows in the bed rooms, just boards over where the windows should be. Very odd. They also do not have cribs, only pack and plays for baby. The beach was very nice and quiet.

No room service. This fact should be stated on the Expedia listing in order to make a informed decision. Additionally, this was not mentioned to us when checking in, unacceptable at $350 a night.

Disappointed

We booked this hotel strictly because the room description stated "laundry in suite", we paid $550 CAD/night and thought it was worth it if we could get some laundry done during our stay as we were on the tail end of our 10-day vacation. When we checked into the resort we quickly realized that there was no laundry in the room, I called to the front desk to inquire..I was told that the laundry was shared. I called hotels.com to try and cancel my stay as I was obviously disappointed, I was told that I wouldn't receive a refund because I had already checked in. This was an absolute error on hotels.com/the resort's end and no one tried to make this right. On top of that, our room smelt like mould and we noticed a wet patch on the ceiling that was about to pour water at any second. The resort was very kid friendly and we had a great stay overall but the initial items kind of put a damper on things.

I love this property. I've stayed here every year for almost a decade and it just keeps getting nicer.

I typically do not leave reviews, but I would like to warn others who might be considering this property. 1) They only gave us 1 parking pass when we arrived. They suggested several places to park our other vehicle, but all of those indicated no overnight parking. We went back to the hotel and a man (we assume was the manager on duty) basically tells us it isn't his problem. We finally found a solution ourselves for that night and they gave us another parking pass the next day. We spent 3 hours of our vacation dealing with this. 2) Just because you have an elevator somewhere on the premises, does not mean that your rooms are accessible by elevator. We had to carry luggage up flights of stairs the first night, but they did move us to the bottom floor the next night. 3) This property advertises that it is beach front. There is one building that is beach front, but it is being renovated right now. The only buildings with available rooms are across a dead end street. 4) Water park and lazy river close at 8:00, which makes the pool area very crowded. 5) We paid cash for beach chairs every day and then the front desk tried to charge us again at checkout. They did take it off, but you need to watch your bill. 6) You can hear almost everything in the rooms around you. 7) Don't bother paying the extra money for better rooms. They will still put you on the end facing the street, far away from the beach. On a positive note, the rooms were clean and many staff members were nice.

The parking was terrible no room to get in or out. The beds were hard as a rock and the pillows go flat. I asked for four pillows and was told I could only have two. The room was supposed to sleep 6 and they would only let one car park there. They had a bar by the pool for drinks and food but only one girl working. I was in line for 35 minutes for one drink. Also kids running all over the place jumping in lazy river and in hot tub no parents watching them. You couldn’t get in the pool because they close the lazy river at 8:00 so everyone going to the pool at that time.

Everything was awesome very updated, the only bad thing was that everytime you would leave you couldn’t find parking space but they freed a space just for us everything was awesome

Excellent family vacation spot

We really enjoyed our stay here! Our room was beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed! The pools, lazy river, and splash pad were awesome- my kids loved it all. We also loved that we were so close to the beach and that we had private beach access. We absolutely will be returning!

Very excellent staff, friendly and attentive service! Perfectly fun and clean for families! Lots to do! Lots of staff on hand to help! We have been here twice and will definitely be back. My only suggestion is to bring back housekeeping.

Management was responsive to requests. Helped with anything we asked for. Polite and respectful, not rude or condescending. Very happy with our stay.

What a great experience staying at Westgate. Staff goes above and beyond with kindness and helpfulness. So many kid friendly amenities and the suite we stayed in was immaculate. We are not owners and this was our first time staying at a Westgate resort. The only anxiety I felt was when we first checked in. It was after a 10 hour drive with two little ones and I was very tired. The front desk clerk was kind and prompt with check in, however I felt very attacked by “timeshare” concierge afterwards when trying to push me to attend an hour long presentation on what Westgate has to offer in becoming an owner. I would recommend checking to see how long someone was staying in the future( we were staying six days) and realize by someone’s attire and tired appearance that that was not an opportune time to present that offer. Overall it was a great vacation and wonderful place to experience. I would definitely recommend Westgate in the future and have already done so.
