Excellent service and beautiful place

Excellent service!

Great view. excellent service. Very courteous staff. However this is an older property under renovation. I did not know about renovations until at the property. Many features did not work. No swimming pool (outdoor) despite being advertised on Expedia and all sites. Room safe did not work and was not bolted Room heating did not work since there was leakage from balcony door There was no lobby to walk, mingle since everything was under construction

Excellent location!. You get to see all of beautiful Dal lake from a hill. This is the only hotel where you get to see whole of Dal lake in its serene setting as well as most of Srinagar. Property was well maintained with beautiful flora. Staff is very respectful. Yes, I would visit it again.

Perfect location & gorgeous sunset

The property is beautifully located, you have a gorgeous view of the sunset, the staff is friendly and welcoming. Pool could use some maintenance and regular cleaning, also it's a dry hotel, so make sure to bring your own booze. Breakfast was a lavish spread, and food is delicious.

Awesome property made better by great service!

One of the best Taj properties in the country. Superb views and large rooms. Fantastic and prompt service. Staff is very friendly; they go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Special thanks to Naeem for taking care of us!

Security check on public road on way to Hotel

Going to coming out of Hotel was very problematic. Security people on the road leading to hotels were very rude and non cooperative. We have great hassle going to or coming out of hotel.

It was an amazing stay at Vivanta Dal View.. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Srinagar.. The view from the hotel is breathtaking.. Its so good that you can even skip visiting Shankaracharya Hill.. The Infinity restaurant again serves great food along with the excellent view.. Also, they serve kids friendly food like plain khichdi which is relief for people travelling with their families.. The service too is great and I would say its a mush visit hotel if you are planning a trip in Srinagar.

Superb Hotel, spectacular vieww of dal lake and tulip gardens with 5 star food service and hospitality. 1 A big appreciation to 1.Mr Alam gir hussain for taking care of us during breakfast and dinner 2. The concierge for planning our 3 days 3. The check person who upgraded my 1 room to premium so my kids who be next door at a good price 4. Excellent choice

The Vivanta Taj is set in a beautiful surrounding. We only stayed one night but I will definitely return here if in Srinagar again. The breakfast was not as great as expected of Taj hotels. The staff were were friendly upon check in. Overall our stay was pleasant.

To stay at this hotel is to experience something extraordinary. There is not one facet of this hotel that warrants criticism. We had a wonderful stay. The living facilities were great, the staff was exceptionally professional and attentive. The location, amid surrounding mountains, is heavenly. The hotel is a little far removed and one needs to have their own coveyance. Other than that, the hotel is a class act.

Nice hotel, our bedroom was overlooking the lake

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Srinagar. Hotel was situated in a very nice spot with views of mountains and the Dal lake and the hotel gardens were immaculate. Staff were very friendly and keen to do anything.

Excellent hotel with a fantastic view

Do not miss staying here. It is a wonderful experience. You would love to see the changing colours of the lake from your room. The food is good. Staff is courteous.

i requested room in the main building but couldn't get one, and i was informed that they have only one room not in the upper floors of the main building

Excellent hotel with the best view

We had a great stay at Vivanta by Taj - Dal View. It's location on the top of the hill provides breathtaking views of the Dal lake and the city. From the moment we checked in and till the end of our stay, we were pampered by the warmth of an excellent service by the entire staff. The restaurant staff in particular was always welcoming and eager to provide the best experience. We would definitely return soon.

It has a wondreful location it's good to just unwind and go for walk in the beutiful garden . And the staff in the restaurent latitude were so courteous and helpful. The coffe shop coffe was so good we used to wait for it to open at 9 . All in all had a wondreful time .

Perfect stay!

We stayed here for 2 nights 11th Oct to 13th October 2015. The pick-up arranged directly with the hotel was on time and our chauffeur Javed was an excellent driver/guide for us throughout our trip. We were welcomed very enthusiastically and warmly by the staff at the hotel, from the doorman all the way to the managers in different department. The whole stay was made more relaxing by the helpful and warm Taj hospitality. The staff went out of their way many a times to make our stay more comfortable and memorable. Our room had an excellent view of the Dal Lake on one side with our own private backyard and the mesmerising hills on the other side. The food was great, service exemplary and the staff very cordial.

Overated and poor value for the money.

The best asset this property has is its location overlooking the iconic Kashmir Dal Lake. This hotel might be a 5-star property for Srinagar or for Kashmir but is certainly no world-class hotel, despite their world-class rates and pretensions. Our room had multiple problems, including a shortage of Kleenix and toilet paper, poor building construction and intermittent power outages. Why not just call the very accommodating staff to restock? The telephones DIDN'T WORK in the room! We weren't about the crawl out of bed, get fully clothed in order to trundle off the 60 yards to the front desk to request that housekeeping do their job.

The stay was very comfortable. The hotel had an excellent view and the service was impeccable- as you would expect of a Taj property.

Our stay at the Taj Dal Lake

Stayed at the at Taj Dal Lake for 2 nights. Amazing location of the property and amazing views all around it. Superb rooms and amazing Taj services. Best stay in kashmir. The room had an amazing central heating system to keep us warm in the cold.

Hotel with a spectacular view.

Very good service quality. Staff very friendly and goes out of its way to please. Could provide Kashmiri pandit cuisine in addition to its other offerings. The chinese food was surprisingly good. The desserts were excellent.

It was too foggy so we did not enjoy any view

Excellent hotel, excellent view

Everything was excellent except we were getting no messages from people who telephoned and left messages. Also the staff's telephone manners was bad, they were not nice to people calling in to the hotel to talk to us, many from overseas countries. The staff, we were told, were rude and could not speak proper English, the lined were cut off in the middle of conversations. They donot (it seems) have a telephone operator and we cannot figure out who answers the phone calls. The staff in person was excellent, and helpful.

Nothing less than superb!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Taj! It was everything we expected and more. We had booked 4 rooms and the staff did everything they could to make our stay most enjoyable and comfortable. They were alert to our every request and made sure that they were available to help us whenever we needed help. I traveled with my aging parents and my 2 kids and they made sure that our every special request was met with a smile. The travel desk was very helpful with tips and bookings. The location is unbeatable - atop a hill that looks over Dal lake on one side and dwarfed by cloud covered mountains on the other. If you visit Srinagar, this is the place to stay - nothing comes close to the Taj! Highly recommended.

good hotel but no facilities

good hotel, beautiful views. however hotel has absolutely no facilities. no operational pool, no indoor pool, no spa, no massage, recreation room was only 1 carrom board, nothing to do in hotel. great service and view. however due to absolutely lack of any facilities wudnt rate hotel as 5 star. also very far from everything need a car to go anywhere.

Ideal vacation hotel

Its is great on all aspects. If budget is not a constraint, then dont think any other option in Srinagar. There are only a few 5 star hotels here and this is undoubtedly the best and has a great view of the Dal lake.

Elegant modern 5star hotel with amazing views

Just 2 years old, this hotel is a 5star haven sitting on top of a kashmir mountain hill with eagle-eye views of the entire Dal Lake and the Srinagar city. The hotel is very modern and the rooms are free standing cabins with their own private garden - early morning and last thing at night I would sit outside in my garden and look over the srinagar city. Srinagar like the rest of India is a busy, crowded and dusty place that overwhelms all your senses - this hotel and it's location, felt like you were getting away from all that noise and as you drive up the mountain towards the hotel you can start to feel the air is fresher, it's becoming more and more tranquil and it's like going to a little pocket of heaven.

It would be better to add arabic TV chanells to TV chanells

the location,cleanliness,food was superb.only maintainence regarding air conditioning was poor.both nights the stay was disturbing as air conditioning in the room didnt work and it got suffocating.also,we did not get change of the room.

Srinagar looks heavenly from vivanta

Amazing view, the best place to stay in Srinagar. Excellent food , room service and staff. The only problem we had was the breakfast, which was cold and ,service poor and slow.despite this a must stay.

Incredibly stunning views of lake Dal, the city of Srinagar spread below and the surrounding mountains surrounding the city from atop the hill where the hotel is situated. perfect!! beautifully stunning!!
