The apartment was very tired, the kitchen tap was out of position and was dripping, the bathroom sink was blocked, Coat hanger was off the wall. Only found instructions to download inside cupboard door as we left on how to operate appliances. No broom provided to clean terrace, chairs full of blossom. Very minimal provision of kitchen equipment. The location and ease of getting into Cambridge was very good, did not use catering, but nearby Sainsburys was a very useful. Receptionist very helpful. Wash basin full of hairs and grease. Very little storage in kitchen need shelves.

Cambridge birthday treat

We decided to visit Cambridge for a few days for my husbands birthday and I came across this lovely aparthotel and what a wonderful discovery, very modern bright and airey we had a double room terrace apartment and it was wonderful, the only down side was the patio door on the living room was broken and awaiting repair but this didn’t stop us from having a coffee on the terrace as you can access it via the 2 bedrooms. Large living room kitchen area walking in shower 2 bedrooms one maste. Staff what great and we could contact them anytime via what’s app. Overall a fantastic stay we will be back.

This aparthotel was a great choice for us, only a 15 minute drive to the centre of Cambridge and there were many amenities around the hotel. We spent our day in Cambridge but ate/drank at the bars and restaurants that were a 2 minute walk away from the hotel. The value for money was extremely good. Just one thing to note was parking at the hotel was £15 a night or outside the hotel was ringo parking, which after 6pm till 8am is free so we ended up spending less than a £5 so if you get your timings right it’s a great option to save a bit of money. Myself and partner really enjoyed the cocktail bar onsite (deuces) and the roof top bar for drinks and the food at the Astronomer restaurant was incredible. Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

Stayed this week on a bed that smelt like a urinal. Mattress was covered in a huge stain and as it was late slept on sofa - highlighted to hotel staff in the morning who said they would investigate and I’d asked for a refund or something as I couldn’t use bed. After they investigated they had said the mattress was fine and it was my cooking at 1am that caused the bed to smell - I didn’t cook and the smell was the stain on the mattress. So all in all a terrible stay here and they’ve since lied about the room state

Everything was good apart from cleanliness of the room. Friendly staff, useful info, small but well equipped gym, close to shops, restaurants and the bus into the city centre. However the cleanliness of the room was poor, looked like it hadn't been hoovered and the was dried on food on the sofa. The sofa also had a large dip in one side as though someone had lived in the room and not moved off the seat.

We loved using the new roof-top pizza/bar, although we wish it were non-smoking. We were also very happy to have outdoor seating options for meals. The closeness of transit to the university was key for us. Staying in an apartment instead of a hotel gave us a lot of flexibility to work and have meals, thanks to the Sainsbury. We will definitely come back.

I stay in Cambs often and like this hotel as the studio rooms allow me to be more flexible. The room is clean on arrival, with lovely linen and a comfy bed. That said I have noticed maintenance issues across several rooms with bathroom sinks that do not drain and heating (or lack there of) and appliances not working.

Excellent apartment hotel. I've stayed at other Locke hotels before and they all share a similar design, merging elements of a smart apartment hotel, or a cool hostel, together with the sort of slightly pricey on-site bars/restaurants you might get in a 5-star hotel. Lobby area is a bit underwhelming here but good facilities overall. I believed I received a free upgrade due to Expedia membership, to an impressive 2-room apartment. The immediate area is very clean and modern, with a Sainsbury's 3-mijs away. Not much going on though and slightly too far/roady to walk to central Cambridge.

Last minute booking for 1 night, as got tickets to a gig at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. Absolutely loved this hotel. Quirky, clean, comfortable and the little cocktail bar off the lobby is gorgeous. Staff all very friendly. The hotel was full, so parking wasn’t a bit of a pain. I wasn’t aware you can book parking at time of booking, so would recommend doing this. £15 a night from memory.

The light in the room was poorly illuminated, quite dim. The bathroom/toilet was not that cleaned and it smelled, despite having asked to clean the toilet. Trendy and clean but a poorly maintained room

Out of town from Cambridge but easy to get in on the bus. A trendy and clean establishment but our room was tired and unloved with a number of minor faults, suggesting a lack of care or monitoring of the condition of the rooms (Shower door didn't fit, cooker hood didn't work, a sliding partition in the bedroom was stuck and one of the kitchen cupboard doors wouldn't close). All of these should have been checked and repaired before letting the room. We paid for a terrace but couldn't sit out, despite mild weather, because seat cushions had been left out in the rain and were soaked through - why not keep them indoors?

The accommodation was first class. Staff were also efficient friendly and helpful. Location and facilities excellent. Large supermarket within 5 minutes walk. Finding the entrance to the hotel was difficult and more signage on the road and complex would help. Also a contact telephone number on the booking details. But these are all minor issues that did not detract from the pleasantness of our stay. A hotel with a vibrant service orientated atmosphere.

The apartment was spacious with a balcony that was accessible from all 3 rooms and a view of a nice green garden. There was a washing machine. It is a newly developing area. There is a Sainsbury and 2 restaurants close by. Our main dissatisfaction is because the advertising of this place on Expedia is misleading. The listing said there would be two bathrooms, but there was only one, and the check-in just informed us “the listing was wrong” and didn’t provide any apology or refund. I talked to Expedia later on to get some refund. This place is also advertised as “airconditioned“ but air conditioning was only installed in one of the 3 rooms. The upkeep of this apartment is not good. The carpets looked shabby. The terrace which was a nice feature was unusable as it had cobwebs and dead insects in many places. When we came in the dishwasher was broken, and there was food still crusted on utensils and tabletops. We asked for a week of dishwasher pods for our 8 night stay, but reception told us they “can’t” and we would have to come down every few days to ask for more. When we asked them to fix it the broken dishwasher, it took hours and several reminders to send anyone. It was more work staying here than it’s worth. While it is advertised as a clean space suitable for long stays, it doesn’t quite measure up. I felt that some of the frontdesk staffs were well-trained while others were not. The stove and microwave (SMEG brand) was weird -we needed instructions to operate.

Turing Locke was a fantastic place to stay for a weekend getaway to Cambridge. My partner and I stayed there for 3 nights and found it to be spacious, comfortable and clean. We frequently used nearby voi bikes to get into Cambridge and used the bus on a number of occasions as well - these transport options meant that it was reasonably accessible to get into the city. There is a Sainsburys about 2 minutes away from the accomodation which allowed us to cook all of our meals as our room had a kitchenette. 5/5 would stay again.

Good but took an unexpected turn

Was really reat experience at first, solo travel to visit cambridge, accessible room, looked cute and clean - until morning when I went to shower and was locked in my bathroom as handle was broken, not great when travelling alone but thankfully I was in an accessible room with alarms in bathroom to get attention for help. Overall staff were polite, helpful and friendly, the hotel seems ok, cute decor and modern but my stay was made difficult as a solo traveller due to room defect.

Great stay once you find your room

My first time at an aparthotel, so wasn't quite sure what to expect in the way of maintenance & cleaning, but everything was just as simple as a high quality hotel room, but with a fully fitted kitchen as a bonus. A great base for nipping into town, with the park & ride bus station an easy 15 minute walk away & Sainsbury's just round the corner for supplies if you're staying a while. The restaurant across the square is also well worth a visit. My only real gripes would be the poor signage from the carpark to reception (there are maps on the path, but as all the blocks look the same it's difficult to get your bearings) & the seemingly endless walk on carpets from The Shining to get to the room.

Fair room let down by a few small issues. Aircon not working and wasn’t attended to after requesting. Coffee mugs and accessories but no teaspoons. Room size is good but a weird configuration. I wasn’t able to get anything to eat even at 7.30pm. Pizzas ran out on the roofbar, the main restaurant wasn’t allowing anyone in as they claimed they were full (but I saw only half) and then I eventually ate at Dutch outside. Awful food and shocking to charge £13 for 3 small tacos Good for a night or two but there are nicer options like the Hyatt next door.

Great hotel only slightly mared!!

The hotel was all you could ask for, clean modern, sustainable. Really well located just outside of Cambridge with excellent links. The area around the hotel was very clean and tidy with many local amenities minutes away. The bar belonging to the hotel “Dutch” was lovely with a chilled out outside area and great staff. HOWEVER, and I only realised when I get home that we had been over charged for some drinks we didn’t have. I have tried to contact the bar direct but have been blanked. A real shame, but would return, but would be more careful when checking the bar tab!

Aircon had been left on ahead of arrival, so the room felt very cold and took ages to warm up after turning off. Another building overlooked the living area. I would have appreciated a sheer curtain, as I could see straight across into people's homes, but the only option was a blackout curtain. I stayed 4 nights, by which point I had run out of toilet paper and hand soap, and the bins were completely full, but there was no cleaning or replenishing of items during my stay. Combi microwave oven awkward to use. I had to search for manuals; it would have been good to have the correct printed manuals to hand in the room. On one of the mornings, the fire alarm went off at 7.30am a.m. repeatedly for what felt like half an hour. Reception said that the chef burned breakfast and that the alarm wouldn't stop sounding until smoke had dispersed. It seems strange that the alarm couldn't be reset if it wasn't an emergency. I was also surprised that I had to use my room card to unlock the door to the fire escape stairs. If it had been a real fire with people in a rush that could prove dangerous, a fire exit should always be easily accessible in an emergency. I liked the style of the room, and the studio was a good size, but parts are starting to look worn.

Not bad, but needs a good clean – and more staff!

Some good bits, but check in experience was rubbish. Stood at front desk being ignored for 10 minutes while only staff member slowly dealt with a courier instead of us. Then the process of checking in itself seemed to be very slow – particularly paying for parking. Definitely more staff needed, and IT system seemed to be slow on the uptake. Self check-in desks were switched off when we arrived. Hotel itself is otherwise okay. Nicely designed rooms, but starting to feel a bit tired now. Everything could do with a good clean: dirty rug, floors, sofa, kitchen sink and taps. Air conditioning didn't seem to cool anything down, so gave up and opened the terrace door instead. Fire alarm went off (about 5 times) at 7:30AM and didn't stop until 8. On the upside, wifi was great!

Not the best Locke apartment out of all of them

I've stayed in a few different Locke locations and thought I would give Turing Locke a try for my birthday weekend. I was disappointed to find the cleaning standards have gone down hill. The terrace room I stayed in was not clean, the kitchen counter and tea towels provided were dirty, there was a build up of cob webs by the windows and the terrace was not well maintained, the plants was overgrown and the seating was badly stained. I have a mixed view. The location was good, near a supermarket and close to the Park & Ride. Modern building in quite good condition. A small number of eating options nearby. The lack of any servicing atall really surprised me for a 1 week stay. There were a lot of modern appliances in the kitchen, but they were very hard to use - it did not help that the QR code I eventually found to get access to the appliance manuals linked to the _wrong models_, making it very hard to understand the issues. AirCon did not work, just made noise.

Really well thought Out one bedroom hotel room. High quality fittings and everything you need – to hop halogen, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle. Efficient check in with Victoria and six or seven minute walk to the park-and-ride that gets you into Cambridge. 18 hours free parking. Otherwise it’s tough to park in Cambridge. A good set up.

We were there on a weekend and it was very quiet. The restaurant next door was good and having a Sainsbury nearby was a bonus.

Clean and comfortable. A few maintenance issues to improve things but these did not detract from a very comfortable stay. (Kitchen tap was very loose/almost coming out / anglepoise lamp by sofa was too loose to be angled / bins had not been emptied). Thank you for a good stay though.

Great apartment with benefit of excellent service

Really impressed with Turing Locke during my stay there. Excellent friendly and professional service from Arthur at check-in. The two bedroom apartment was immaculately clean, spacious and well equipped. Great to be able to cook our own food, but also to have the option of meals in the restaurant. Very easy to get into Cambridge but in a quiet area where parking is less stressful than in town. Would highly recommend.

Very handy for our weekend at PiWars competition, easy transport with a good bar and restaurant. Sadly no decaffeinated tea in the room or on the premises. I would return to this hotel in future. Many thanks for a pleasant and quiet stay.

Should have been better

This could have been a much better review but sadly we encounted many problems during our stay. The sink plug was broken, the induction hob wouldn't heat up correctly, the sink tap was very loose and the dishwasher was completly non-functional. The room itself had a strong odour of spicy food. Oh and if you want to find out where the cutlery is, you need to have a mind like those at Bletchley Park. When we went to ask reception about it, it was unstaffed so we went across to the restaurant and they insisted on coming up to the room as they "would never to able to explain it". (if you're curious, it's in a drawer that's hidden inside another drawer. Obviously. We had to leave promptly on Saturday for work so decided to call reception in the morning to report the issues. Locke's relcutance to publish any kind of phone number and use AI-style chatbots meant it took 45 minutes of pleading with a robot and a human chat agent to get reception's number. We reported everything and were assured that maintenance would be sent up to fix it all. When we got back at 6:30pm, nothing had been done. We spoke to person on reception who was very helpful but all he could offer was a room change. Thankfully the second room was in much better condition. We chose Locke because my wife has serious food allergies, so when away the ability to cook food and store it is essential. Sadly, Locke failed us in this regard. To be fair, the second room was significantly better.

Great apartment and love the washer dryer, comes in very handy when on a long trip. Missing TV remote in the room though, took some time for staff to sort it out. But overall happy with the service and the apartment.

Highly recommended!

Brilliant place for a family holiday in Cambridge. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment - very spacious, comfy beds, great shower and well set up for self catering. Make sure you book parking early. We didn't know to do this and there wasn't space for the first few days. As the parking isn't cheap, there is limited free overnight parking right outside and a park and ride 2 minute drive away to leave the car in the day if you prefer to save some money. There is also a bus stop almost on the front door of the hotel which goes into the middle of Cambridge in around 15 minutes, so ideal for day trips. There's a fantastic coffee shop (Dulcedo) next door and a Sainsbury's a minute walk away so this place really does have every needed on its doorstep. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and welcoming.

Pleasant Studio in a

Great, very new, modern Studio, just right for 2. Kitchen has an oven, toaster and kettle, as well as fridge, dishwasher and washer, so you could stay for a while, although we only stayed for 2 nights. Supermarket is just next door and there's restaurants and bar next door, although it is bus or taxi or a long walk into the City Centre.

Good place to stay when travelling with a teenager due to the separate rooms, spacious, clean and good location. Could do with better lighting and a shelf, desk or other surface. Doors to bathroom should not be glass.

Great apartment - make sure you book parking

Really good place to stay in Cambridge. It's a little out of the centre, so you need to factor that in if you want to do some exploring. The apartment was great! Has everything you need including oven, fridge, freezer, hob etc. And mine had lovely seating area which looked down on the courtyard area. My only gripe about the place was parking. This was my second visit to Cambridge and it seems to be a running theme. If parking is limited, or you need to pre-book it, please let your guest know in advance. After 5h in the car, the last thing you need is to be panicking in case you get a ticket! There was no indication that you needed to pre-book! Other than that, a great place to stay.

Incredibly comfortable bed - spacious and well equipped one bedroom suite - very quiet area but good connections to major roads and nearby Park and Ride into Cambridge. Minor niggles - bathroom lighting a bit dim for shaving/makeup and showerheads need unblocking more regularly. Overall will definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is very spacious and quiet. We also parked for both nights, which was fine but a little steep at £15 per night. Our studio/room was a little dirty when we arrived..crumbs and smudges all over the kitchen area. The bathroom wasn't that clean either e.g we found a hair stick to the hand wash. There is no restaurant attached but there is one a few mins walk from the lobby (astronomer). There is a convenient bus stop that gets you into the city centre in 15mins and tickets are available from the lobby desk, so it's still a good option if you want to visit the central areas.

Overpriced for what it was

We arrived just before 6pm and checked in was no issue. Upon getting into the room, the room was in a mess and bed was not made. I took some photos and went to see customer service. We were given another slightly bigger room as compensation. We were tired at this point, went to grab some ready meals from nearby supermarket & return to heat it up. To our horror, the extraction fan for the kitchen is not connected properly. Thus, we didn’t attempt to cook anymore and at this point of time, we won’t bother to change as very unlikely to give them repeat business in the future.
