Was very good hotel very very clean

The hotel was recently renovated, very clean, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. I stayed in a two-bedroom suite, which was spacious, over 1200 square feet in a top full floor, and has good views of the harbor, and city. The price was excellent for the value provided. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would rate my experience five stars.

Great area to stay, the staff were fabulous and the place super comfortable.

Great place to stay for young families

Staff were incredibly friendly from start to finish and were always there to offer a helping hand when we were struggling with bags/pushchairs. We felt very welcome for our entire stay and would definitely come back here again.

Functional flat in convenient location

Clean modern flat in convenient location only 12 mins walk to Central and 15-20mns walk to Star Ferry. Good selection of restaurants around, nexdoor supermarket. Allergy free premises, AC and ventilation working well, excellent service with friendly staff always ready to help.

Great oasis in the middle of the city

Good stay with excellent restaurants surrounding the area. A minor gripe about some stained linens but they were swift to change it.

The roms are huge and nice to have kitchen/dining. The room was very clean and great views.

Quiet and comfortable. Some of the items in the room seemed a bit dated or older (scuffs here and there or doors that closed a bit crooked on cabinets, this might just be more of a common thing in Asia versus the US) but the hotel was clean and safe. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cozy and spacious with TB having netflix and youtube. Cooking and dining with the city view is such a vibe.

Great newer service apartment hotel in Sheung Wan

Pros: Newer hotel. Large Service Apartment with good amenities (washer/dryer, kitchen ware, etc). Very good black out blinds in most of the apartment. Single apartment per floor. Cons: While large, not quite sure it is 1300 sqft net as advertised. The blinds (closer to the restroom) in the bathroom are not blackout. This is mentioned due to the position of the bed (facing the bathroom), the sunlight comes through very strongly in the morning.

I was super excited to stay in The Putman, but unfortunately it disappointed me. I booked the o full floor suite for 3nights. However, at like 4pm on the check in day, I was informed the air conditioning was out of function, the staff claimed they sent a message for me a day prior the stay, but actually I didn’t. They was unable to provide me the room, and they offered me to stay in another hotel under their group, The Jervois, a two bedroom suite, or free cancellation. I actually had no choice but to accept to stay in The Jervois since I didn’t have sufficient time to choice another place for 3 night stay while I was on the way to check in!!! The Putman’s room has a bathtub but The Jervois hasn’t. And this was one of the reason I chose The Putman but not The Jervois when I booked. Otherwise, the Jervois was fine, excellent in cleanliness.

I love the property and extended my stay due to business reasons. I’m not sure what the VIP element is though as, when booking the extra 5 or so nights, I booked a standard bar full floor suite in error but they wouldn’t upgrade me FOC even though there was space, something that I thought was a reason for being a VIP property.

The full floor suites are really lovely, a great and airy space with amazing light. The full ceiling to floor windows don’t have a great view out but let in tons of light and there is a sheer and full blackout blind. The kitchen has a hob, fridge freezer and washer / dryer.

Excellent Service

Excellent service! Great room. Nice kitchenette with a nearby market. My only negative on the hotel was that it was hard to find with lack of signage. Will absolutely consider staying again!

Great location in the heart of central. Rooms were big and well-equipped. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reciprocal breakfast with the cafe next door which was a nice touch. Highly recommended.

Wonderful property. Quiet suite in a busy location. Plenty of eats and activities within walking distance. Walk to the Central CBD foor business, drop by SOHO for drinks and dining, walk home for a sound evening's rest. Can't ask for more

Service was friendly and attentive, focused on pleasing guests. Great position with a short walk to Central station and the mid levels escalator. Room was a little small.

Excellent serviced apartment in Central

We had an excellent 2 week stay and will stay here again. This is a boutique hotel consisting of 29 floors with a single serviced apartment on each floor. Of course it was just a few feet from the elevator to our door. There was a separate kitchen/ living room. The kitchen has a microwave, electric stovetop and washing machine. Then a bedroom with king size bed and connected bathroom with bathtub and separate walk in shower. Wood and tiled floors throughout. Electric blinds. The location in on Queens Road Central about 10 minutes walk from IFC mall and the star ferry. We really enjoy being able to make our own breakfast and light meals rather than needing to go out all the time. Note this tiny hotel does not have a large lobby or concierge. This suited us perfectly as we know Hong Kong well.

Hidden Hotel designed by world famous designer. It has all equipments for living It’s pity to stay there short time.

We loved our stay here and we appreciated that they gave us the top floor after my upgrade which meant we amazing views. The suite was beautifully presented and it’s amenities was sufficient and just what we needed. They were even so accommodating that they provided us with a cot, highchair and a drying rack as requested. The location provided many good restaurants and delivery places around which meant you had tons of choices and it’s very close to the MTR station which meant it was easy to travel anywhere. The one thing I loved the most is how friendly and helpful the staff was. Every time I walked past they would say hello, open doors and get the lift for us and went out of their way to play with my little boy which I really appreciated. We had a number of visitors and they even remembered some of the regulars and showed them the same curtesy as they did to us. The downside was that the cooker was a bit slow so on 1 of the evenings it took me 2 hours to make pasta and steak but that might have been me.

This.is.a motel, does not deserve to be called a hotel. The room is a bird cage, totally different.from the Expedia pictures and description. Not.a pleasant experience at all. Stay away.

Perfect for short or long stays

A quiet, peaceful, private apartment that is well-appointed and suitable for a stay of several days or several weeks. It is a short walk to restaurants and bars and a 10 minute walk to Exchange Square but around the corner from the hustle and bustle to provide a peaceful location to stay. Friendly, helpful staff make it an ideal place to stay.

The Putman

The Putman was just what I expected - good location and clean but very small room. More like staying in a serviced apartment than a hotel.

My stay was fine. The hotel met my expectation but did not exceed it. I would stay in the hotel again if I had business in the area.

The check-in lobby was unassuming without the glitz and glamour of the major chains. The full floor suite was one of the biggest rooms I've ever stayed in Hong Kong with a kitchen, dining and lounge room, bedroom and bathroom with bathtub and stand-in shower. The hotel was very clean and house keeping was very dutiful in maintaining it daily. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The location is also fantastic, major shops and restaurants at your door step and great restaurants at Kennedy Town just 3km or 30 minutes walk. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Hidden Gem

This is a boutique HK style hotel, popular these u see popping up. Micro hotels really in non descript buildings in a busy area. This small entrance on Queens St opens up to a small lobby w really friendly staff there waiting for you. It feels nice, warm. There r two small lifts right there that take u to your floor, just 2 rooms max per floor so super easy in and out, no giant halls and large lobbies to walk through.

Service was excellent. Room was bright and spacious which is very rare in Hong Kong. I’ll definitely go back!

Great location, top quality - but expensive.

Beautifully and smartly designed hotel suite and great location for most of HK sights. The staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed the stay. We didn’t use the gym facility but it looked adequate and good quality.

Location

Very unassuming discreet entrance. No flash here. Loads of space for 300usd a night, great deal in HK. 5 min walk to some best night life in the world, i will be back

Putman August 2017

Great room, location and service.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in HK. It is convenient to the Mid-Levels and IFC/Central area. I do wish they offered room service or a mini bar, but still an awesome hotel with food places nearby. I think it has one of the best bathtubs on the city too.

Good hotel

it was a lovely location and a great hotel

Room is extremely small. We met 2 receptionist. One is extremely helpful and smiley. The other one is at the other extreme.

Good for business travelers

No frills; nice room. Cheaper options in the area, but for business, was quite satisfactory

Overall this is a great property. Only complaint is that on the day we were arriving, we got an email saying that there was a problem and that they had to put us in another one of their hotels for the first night of our 5 night stay. This was extremely inconvenient and the room they had moved us to was half the size and cost less that what we had already paid for. We have asked repeatedly for a refund of at least the difference in cost but to date have not received any compensation whatsoever.

My only complaint is that the front desk would not hold out luggage before our arrival because they said they only get the stay information a few days before our stay.
