Great place even better in summer

Always great when we stay at the little hide. We have been a few times just me and my fellas little getaway. Its our peace place with out the kiddies. Lovely and quite this time of year. Was on the cold side with the weather but the heater in the pod was amazeing at keeping you toastie. The only down fall for me was the magpie that seemd to haunt me whilst there hahaha. Really funny. The cafe food is excellent good price. Absolutely love this place.

We have a fab time

We absolutely love this place been a few times now and every time is spot on perfect (wish we had some sugar and tea bags and milk for the room but will remember next time) brilliant as a dog friendly place, our pup loved it! All facilities and room were perfect for what we needed for the night thank you so much for our day and night I’m sure we will be back soon.

There was a small heater but this didn’t really heat up the place. We ended up having to leave after a few hours and book a hotel room elsewhere for the night. There was also a few hairs in the bed. The bed was very creaky and you could hear everything outside.

Great break away

Literally 5 mins away from the retail park (shops and food) but you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere! Really clear and easy to follow instructions to self-check in meant I could arrive at 22:00 and not feel worried! Definitely will be staying again!

Truly awful The accommodation looked derelict There was no way l could have slept the, the outside was covered in disgusting mould and while the inside was sort of ok I didn’t stay and booked into another hotel in York Would definitely not recommend

The hut was lovely but they are all too close together and surrounded by a 6 foot fence. So the view was into my neighbours hut or the fence . We were set around farm land and beautiful green fields but couldn’t see one from my pouch. Toilets were ok but had to walk into the caravan section to use .

We really enjoyed our stay, so peaceful and calming, the trees blowing in the wind around us was a calming lovely sound. Our only issue was the kettle leaking every time you poured a drink and the fitted sheet was not big enough for the bed as soon as got on the bed it came off the mattress when trying to put back on you could get one side down but it pulled it away from other end so bigger fitted sheet and definitely deeper fit other than this it was amazing and just what we needed

Glamping pod

Really nice pod ,clean & tidy ,if a was being critical possibly a microwave to heat something up quickly ,yes there is a cooking facilities outside but !!! But on the whole loved it

Blissful and Thoughtful.

Really enjoyed our stay, very cozy and peaceful in nature. A lovely getaway.

Have never been to a Glamping pod before but would absolutely visit the little hide again. The pod was a good size and had everything we needed. Great location and the showers/ toilets are well kept. Would come back next time and will bring a disposable bbq to use at the shared area.

Lovely place.. The bed was so comfortable and the pod really warm. The area was really quiet and the shower/toilet area were kept clean throughout our stay. Would stay here again.

Fabulous for couples

Lovely experience very clear instructions on how to get to your glamping pod and what is available and what is close by. Nice and warm inside your pod and we had an amazing 2 night stay.

Yurt stay

The yurt interior was really impressive and nicely equipped. Probably wasn’t the best choice of accommodation for the time of year due to the weather elements. (On a personal note: I really didn’t like the heavy/weighted duvet and the bright light shining in during the night).

The Yurt was amazing, I was really impressed!!! I wish we had had time to make use of the den. I think next time we will definitely book a 2 night stay instead😍 We even had a little card left for us as we were celebrating our anniversary! The only thing I can comment on is I wish the toilets and showers had less creepy crawlies in, but with camping you can’t expect a luxury bathroom!! Just watch out for those spiders🕷️🕷️

Surprised this was ‘Luxury’. No lighting around the pods, and having to walk along a road to the toilet which wasn’t ideal, particularly at night! Pod was very very basic but did the job. Both my partner and I slept badly but that was mostly due to the toilet issue. It was clean though and nice to have a kettle.

Loved the location the pods where homely and very comfortable and clean highly recommend

lovely quiet area, very friendly atmosphere. I initially booked this accommodation purely for a place to rest our heads after a night out in York however once we got there and realised how quiet it was we changed our plans and bought some drinks and just sat on the decking outside the glamping pod all night. Lovely warm cosy feel, would have been better if the toilets were a little closer however this would not put us off staying again. Great little find and would highly recommend

A great little spot and not far from town. They recommend a car, but it's an easy (and inexpensive) Uber over.

Lovely and cosy

I was very disappointed in the property I was given it was the cabin and it was the smallest property on the site and a bit disappointed that we paid the same as the larger property’s on site it was very clean and the outside was lovely just disappointed in the size of it compared to all the others for the same price

Dissapointing

We arrived at 18:30 so it was dark. It was minus 2 degrees and we had just driven for 5 hours. The poor lighting made it difficult to park and find the pod. When we eventually got in there was no heating on which meant it was very cold and damp. There was a small heater but no instruction so difficult to turn on. The facilities are very basic (no water in the pod) and although it it is compared to camping for the price we expected more - probably why no refunds are accepted. We were unable to stay and had to find a hotel.

Really good, nice and chill

Loved how cosy it was, very quite location, secure and locks included, added extras of hot water bottle and fridge freezer with kettle, xmas banner/decorations gave a homely feel, heater very efficient and kept it warm even though it was 3 degrees outside

First time I’ve ever stopped in one of these and loved it they was lovely clean and tidy so cosy and warm I’d definitely book to stay here again loads of shops places to eat 10 minutes down the road 💕💕

Pleasant Stay

Overall the stay was very pleasant. Check in is at 3pm and we arrived to the campsite at 4pm and there were no check in details for us. (Self Check in). We rang the hosts and they said there had been a mix up with the dates so our room was not ready. They sorted this out for us as soon as they could and offered us free breakfast at the cafe on site which was very kind of them. The pod its self was very clean and ccomfortable. There were BBQ's to use and fridges. Lovely stay for 1 night. Would go again.

A lovely quiet site with great facilities, cosy bedding,good little fire pit, convenient location of showers and toilets, dog friendly. The pods were very close together and ours faced directly onto 2 others so it was not very private.

The little hide is a lovely place Togo if you want to get away from it all! Our pod was lovely and nice and clean, the shower kept going cold! Apart from that we had a lovely stay and will be back!

We found clear instructions on how to access our cabin at the reception desk. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of our room and how comfortable it was. Despite it being December it was lovely and warm in a matter of minutes! The toilets and showers were less than a minutes walk and extremely clean and tidy. There were other couples staying in the cabins near to us but it was lovely and quiet and we had a really good nights sleep. It took 14 minutes to drive into central York. We will definitely be returning in the future - a lovely place for a mini break away from the kids. Thank you so much!

Perfect one night stay

Lovely one night stay here. No complaints and everything was perfect. Shower block was clean and “the fridge” facilities were useful too. Our own hut was amazing too, warm (even in december) and quite spacious too! Communication, arriving and checking in was smooth too with no trouble. Thank for the amazing stay!

Good stay would stay their again.

Having never been their, we got their when it was dark didnt know how the check in process worked, we had to go to reception in the dark and pick up a card with infomatiom with, when we eventually found the information you have to go through a barrier, now the barrier key pad is a bit further back and when its dark you cant see although lucky for us some one was already coming behibd us and told us, overall the stay was brillaint, i thibk for inmprovement a sign for the key pad would help and some complmentry tea would be brilliant, and a card woth some Taxi numbers on wiuld be good as we went in ti town for a few drinks with iut the car and when we found taxi's they was too busy and had to take the car and leave it thier

Lovely little place , worth a visit

Lovely little place, pod was warm cosy and comfy. Little added extras like hot water bottles and bbq were nice. Our bed creaked every time hubby moved but that was the only fault. Toilet block was clean and showers warm. Very well priced and a nice breakfast in the cafe in the morning. Would stay again. Short drive into York

We stayed in the Yurt and it was brilliant. We absolutely loved it. Very different from what we're used to, but very cosy and quirky.

Lovely break

Wonderful stay at the little hide. The pods were roomy for the size with a double bed, a sofa & dressing table. There was a kettle and access to a kitchen area so you can store milk etc. Bbqs & firepits around the site. Toilets and showers were clean and lots of signage up if you required support Self check in which was fab. Lovely location, very peaceful with lots of wildlife and York is only a short drive away. Would recommend and would stay again Lovely cafe on site with delicious coffee and cakes. The site could benefit from some vending machines for soft drinks but not essential as tesco is only a short drive away. Hot tubs would be a great addition to the site 😀

It was a lovely pod .. very comfortable and clean .. toilets and washroom not far from pod and there was laundry fridge microwave facility.. lovely cafe for our breakfast which was reasonably priced and good service .. would definitely stay again .

Two Night Staycation at the Little Hide

I was a solo traveller, from the UK, and wanted to take a staycation due to international covid restrictions. I can tell you, I really enjoyed my stay at the Little Hide. Checkin was unmanned but it was very easy. You just take your booklet which is pinned ot the board with your name on. This gives you access to your pod key which is secured outside your pod. The pod was so cozy. It's only a 2star rated site, but that's part of the fun of camping IMO. The bathrooms were clean and the staff weere out both mornings ensuring the place is kept clean. The site is located next to a farm which brings the added feel of the countryside, even though you are only a few miles outside of York centre. I took the bus (Reliance, number 40) from the stop which is just a short walk from the train station. I don't drive but there are plenty of car parking spaces, which are close to the vicinity of the pods. There isn't much to do in terms of nightlife. No bars or restaurants close by, othe than the cafe. But I wasn't there for that. I just wanted a good few days of reading. The wifi signal is perfect. I have my own which operates on Three and has a good signal. I sat up late in the evening by the firepit which slowly burned to provide warmth and comfort. I also hada bbq using a small instant one that I bought from Tesco close by. The number 20 bus will take you about 5-10 minutes to get to Tesco, where I bought my supplies for the trip. Staff were polite and friendly

The little hide is a lovely place in general. It isn’t far from shops and little ten min drive into York. The pods are clean, the duvet in summer is far too warm think you need summer duvets, we had a large burn on carpet. The pod can get very hot in warm weather. Breakfast is very very expensive. Think maybe you need to think at doing a little more affordable breakfast few people commented how expensive it was for a breakfast at £13!
