Great stay for the weekend! Would come back again! Friendly staff and parking on site was more than enough! Clean room minus dust on the floors and had a small kitchen area!
Mostly good
Property was a little dated and our room smelled musty. But it was clean and pool was nice and warm.
Property could use a little updating. Overall I've seen way worse. Its doable for a couple days. The kitchen with the full fridge , stove and all is nice. The good out weighs the bad but I think if I went back I would check out something else close by first.
I liked that laundry and recycling and refuse was on my floor #3. There's a Harris Teeter supermarket, 7-Eleven, and gas stations 5 minutes away. Free parking. Restaurants within walking distance. What I didn't like was the very extreme loud music from somewhere that kept me up for several hours on Sunday night.
it was a nice budget friendly place to stay. The pool was nicely heated and room were clean.
Took 1-2 minutes to check into the resort. Towel personnel were excellent and pool area spotless. Easy parking. No dislikes.
Safe area, not too far from beach.
Good points: large room with tons of amenities, best shower that I've ever used in a room, fantastic staff, awesome location, on site parking. Bad points: the vending machines were out of service. And that's it. I would recommend staying here for sure.
The hospitality is so welcoming! Rooms are a good size with a nice kitchenette We enjoy staying here because it is close to local eateries, shopping and the beach. They do have a nice size indoor pool too. We do plan on returning again!
Class reunion
Checked in Friday night and everything was great. Saturday afternoon the cable tv stopped working, call the front desk and was told it was just my room and they would send maintenace to fix but when returned from eating still out. Called the front desk and was told it was the entire resort. We left Sunday morning and still no tv or Internet.
Homey feel, well maintained with lots of privacy
We very much enjoyed staying at the Atrium! It was very well maintained and in a great location. Walkable to the beach and the shops near by downtown. We felt very safe at the hotel as the doors are locked at all times with a guard near the front door and an attendant present at all hours. However, during check out the guests are to get rid of their own trash in the dispensers provide and the other hotel guests decided to pile it on the floor and not in the bins! That wasn’t very sanitary and kind of grossed me out. Overall the rooms were well maintained with adequate amenities and I liked that they give you privacy and don’t have housekeeping at your door daily. The quiet hours at night are also strictly enforced which is nice to unwind and not hear people in the pool at all hours. All the staff was very nice and courteous as well. We brought our service dogs with us on this trip and did end up having a little mix hiccup with the front desk worker where we had to provide her with paperwork but once we did that, there was no further issues. It was a nuisance that we had to wait in the lobby for over an hour until she unlocked our room for us to go back to and continue our stay while they continued to check other guests in. That set us back on our plans for the day. Overall, I would recommend staying there though. It is a very nice place!
Cleanliness of room was not up to par. Fitted sheet on pull out bed was dirty. It had all types of debris and hair on it. The pull out mattress is so comfortable. It was like sleeping on a box spring. The open areas appeared clean but underneath couch, chairs bathtub, sink had remnants of previous guest stays. Had to have the building/room keys reprogrammed twice daily because they stopped working. Hotel staff were courteous and accommodating because they were “use to the issues”.
Will never stay there again
Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Atrium. Some perks were that it wasn't too busy, was a spacious suite, there was a pool/hot tub that wasn't too busy, and it was a good value for the price. Areas for improvement include thin walls (loud neighbors/vacumming at 9 pm), cleanliness in room appeared lacking (found ice bucket with water, dishes left in dishwasher, and young son found random bottle cap somewhere in the room. We would book again and are grateful for the stay!
good place to stay
It was a nice stay the rooms were very nice and clean, the lobby and interior was a little dated but the rooms were great. I was not expecting to have to use a credit card for a 100 dollar hold for incidentals after already prepaying through hotels.com but at least I had it on me. Great location , walking for eating and drinking and shopping was easy and convenient we didn't have to move our car or pay for extra parking to go do things. over all good stay
The property is located very near to virginia beach. Broadway and beach are walkable. Good place to enjoy night life. Staff was very courteous and helpful. The amenities in the property are average. The mattress was old and had deformed shape, very uncomfortable for sleep. The elevator broke down on the day of check out, we had to bring our luggage thru stairs.
I loved my stay at this location I look forward to coming back
Checkin staff were so friendly and extremely helpful.
Solid experience overall! The elevator broke while we were there. The walls are a bit thin so be ready to hear TVs from other rooms. Great location.
I liked that it has a kitchen. Saved money feeding the crew. The proximity to the beach was walkable. They didnt clean the rooms daily was a downfall for me. Being on vacation thay would of made it feel more like a vacation instead of the daily home routine.
I am very disappointed with my stay at this hotel due to finding a cockroach in my hotel room. Also, on the day of my departure the elevator didn't work ether.
Very few amenities, room and lobby very dated
Center of attractions very nice location
We enjoyed our time and will definitely consider going back soon
2nd time staying there and it was nice. The staff is always friendly. This time around we didn’t have soap in our bathroom and needed extra bedsheets for the pullout sofa. I made them aware and was told there’s a wait list but no one ever came to fill up the soap (wound up just buying our own) and had to make do with whatever sheets we had there. Otherwise, it’s quiet, and I love that it’s so close to the beach and boardwalk.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the property for two weeks and we will definitely be back again next year!! Donna at the front desk made your stay welcoming and always has a smile to greet you. The location is convenient as it’s away from the hustle and bustle. We loved the king sized bed and kitchen as well as the living room area. We saved so much money on food and drinks thanks to the fully equipped kitchen! Everything worked properly, no bugs, not even a fly in our room the whole time. I didn’t get to swim in the pool but it looks nice and lights up. I grew up in Virginia Beach and stayed at many hotels when visiting home and I have to say I enjoyed this hotel the most!! Thanks to the atrium team for making it a pleasant stay!! Also thank you Donna for making it even more delightful!!
Did not like the indoor pool and only one elevator. Everything else was fine.
I liked the property's set up of the rooms with a living room, kitchenette, bedroom with a chair and foot rest was a plus. Kitchenette was fully equipped. Nice eating table and chaies in the living room with tv. Lots of parking space. Close to walking and driving to the beach, stores and restaurants.
Walls are thin. Had to listen to someone’s tv blaring for 3 nights in a row
Really nice close to the beach I love it
So. At First Look I was thinking, 'I'm not staying here.' But I went on to my room and decided to stay because the room was very clean. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. The first look just looks a little strange and you think it's not going to be great. Well, I won't say that it was great but it was a decent stay. It was a good walking distance to the beach and restaurants everywhere and nightlife. Because the hotel wasn't really in the mix it and is on the outside that made it a little better for me. I don't know if I'll stay there again but it's not a bad option and it was good for the money. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Les pedí sábanas y nuncae dieron asta al otro día pedí de nuevo y otra cosa me recargaron extra en mi tarjeta son malos amfotriones
Safe and clean
The next door neighbor sleeps with the tv on quite loud
Okay place near beach and convention center
Check-In was a little slow But otherwise fine staffing. The coffee maker in the room did not work properly nor could we pick up anything on the TV. Otherwise all good.
Very loud music at night and way to many homeless people
There were sound transmission issues in our room - could hear the neighbors yelling at their kid through the shared door..
Nice place loved the indoor pool , 24hr front desk and security.Everything was witjin walking distance! I plan on going again!
The location is not as advertised. I expected a beach front with an ocean view. Instead it's 2 blocks from the beach with no view of the water. The facility itself is dated. The internet and television did not work for the first day. The room was missing basic amenities like soap and toilet tissue.
The place looked great overall, but the sofa bed was very uncomfortable - you could really feel the springs of the mattress on your back.
The color of the room were in dark shades. Making it feel depressing. It smells chlorine at night. This could be due to the pool being in the middle of the building right where checkin in is. The size of the suite is fine ‘tho.
The hotel was dirty. The sofa bed my two children had to sleep on was horrible. It seems like it had never been changed since opening. My wife had to mop the floor using wipes. They don't replace old pillows. Or old mattresses
Old but Clean
Old hotel, clean with friendly staff. Bonus: free EV chargers.
Beach
Decent place to stay. Not a brand new hotel and a little dated but still a nice atmosphere, a block from the beach.
Stay was good and staff helpful. However, i spent at least 30 min to get an invoice. A day later, i still have no invoice.
We enjoyed our stay, but as we were there for 7 nights I would have appreciated the room service after 3 nights I mean cleaning the room for us at least once during our stay, other than that it was all good.
Just a little get-a-way
great room and great location. We had a great time and will be back next summer.
Arrived there late in the evening. We were given key cards to scan into the property and presumably into our room. We got to our room and the door was already open so we just walked in. Upon walking into the room, we were punched with a horrible smell of french fries. The smell was so strong that we had to get a concentrated air freshener to try to improve the smell. We realized we did not have a card scanner to get into our room so we went downstairs to tell reception. The lady was incredibly rude, she tried to tell us we were lying when we told her we could not get into our room. She got up and came back with an actual key. She was a very unpleasant person. That same night, we were getting ready for bed and I noticed that our toilet had not been cleaned. There were poop stains on the toilet seat and the area around the seat was dirty. I had to use dish soap and paper to clean it up as best as I could. The wall beside the sink was streaked with a yellowish brown solution. The countertop itself was also dirty around the edges. The cleaners were not available so there was nothing we could do so late at night. First thing the next morning I went went down and told reception about the bathroom and she had the audacity to ask if we found like that because if we hadn’t they were going to charge us a cleaning fee. They never came to clean the bathroom in the 4 days we were there. We also had to go exchange one of our pillows for a new one as it had stains all over it.
It was walking distance to the beach which was great!! Most staff was helpful. Not all. First night first night we had no blankets and pillows for my children on the pull out sofa. Employee was rude. Tub spout wouldn’t completely shut off and heat/ ac had issues and we needed maintenance but also loved the kitchen area and everything in it was so helpful. We used everything to save money
The hotel felt like a small tier above a hostel. I had to pay $64 for housekeeping, and it had to be scheduled for the next day. Surprise, they never came. Still waiting on the refund and had to go buy trash bags to take out our own trash.. I had to get bedding for the pull out sofa cause it wasn’t provided. The pull out sofa was one of the most uncomfortable beds, it was better sleeping on the floor. We had to exchange towels to get new towels. Which was weird to do every single day, when you’re at a beach you need extra towels. The pool was weirdly right in the middle of the lobby, which was uncomfortable, and the “gym” had 2 workout gear inside a closet. Their vending machines were broken and sold out, with the 5 day stay they finally started to restock when we were leaving. One of the most annoying aspects was There was one elevator for the entire 6 floor building.
Property was clean. Security in the front at all times felt secure. Laundry was easily accessible as well as towel exchange daily. Parking was always available and easy to get to the building. Dishes were available making it easy to cook and eat. Carts for your luggage made it easy to load up and take to the room or car. The pull out sofa was very uncomfortable and should be replaced.
Old
Just an overnight. Hotel is clean but decaying. Expensive for what you get.
We had a great stay. Highly recommend.
Nice staff
You had to pay for someone to clean your room. Plus have to go and get your own towels never ever experience that before. The layout of the pool was located by the front desk no privacy.
Fríendly staff
Overall great stay. Very close to the beach and other things to do. Suite was a nice size but hotel amenities were a little scarce. Small pool right in the middle of the lobby.
Love the kitchen suite
People on reception were nice and helpful. But some customers are really dangerous and noisy. One family has outdone themselves. We didn't sleep for 2 nights until the hotel workers and the police kicked them out. The entire family, with its malice, rudeness, and total lack of culture, sheds a negative light on the rest of the African-American community.
The pool is small and smells of heavy chemicals. The vending machines were out of order.
The amazing ceiling and pool in middle
It was a amazing stay with my husband and 8yr old
Upon arrival, our initial deposit was lost. Outside of that it really was nice
It was ok for a last minute booking.
Much needed getaway.
As alot of the other reviews stated I was amazed by the size of the rooms. The front desk was always present and super friendly. Loved having the security walking around with a smile being friendly. The whole vibe was super chill loved seeing all the hard working staff maintaining everything around the clock. The pool was amazing simple clean and the kids loved it. The hot tub was a huge plus. The bed was awesome I needed a king since it's what I'm used to and the little one loved the comfort of the sofa bed. Fridge had ice trays and kitchen had everything from coffee machine to a dishwasher with soap. Every utensils needed to cook a meal or bake some cookies. Had a stove and a microwave air fryer oven combo that worked wonders. Honestly it was a perfect getaway. Grocery store walking distance Working ac. Made a little clatter noise but boy was the room cold. We shut it off and it stood a great temp until we left for the day we reset to a cool temp and came back to a perfect room. What else. Restaurant across the street had all you cna eat crabs. We enjoyed that throughly. Beach was SUPER CLOSE. We walked up and down the beach to see neptune down to the restaurant on the pier. Ate there too.. Amazing fried fish platter. That beach had a little jungle gym that my daughter loved too. Overall AMAZING STAY. have to thank The Atrium Resort for allowing me to truly enjoy my stay.
The security was top-notch. The colonel and Mr. Hayes are two of the best officers I’ve ever met.
People at the front desk was very rude and not profesional ar all. The way they act was like my room was free
Sweet spot!
Or stay was awesome. Very clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They’re handing a lot and doing it well. We definitely will be coming back!
Nice place
You definitely get what you pay for here. No trash cans in room, no bags. Towel exchange on 1st floor with limited hours. Not so friendly front desk staff. However, for the price, other patrons were friendly. Will not stay again
Pro's: Clean, family friendly. Con's: Minimal housekeeping services, décor is a bit dated.
Dining options
It was ok
The property is clean and walkable to the beach. The room is clean and neat. It has a kitchen is a plus but I don't know how to use a dishwasher even I try for 10 minutes. I will come back.
friendly people
Loved the kitchenette and being able to walk to beachfront. Clean and staff very friendly.
Good location, parking, large room, full kitchen.
My family loves inside pool , just don’t like the hours
This place is horrible for the price you pay, it's old, everything smells bad, they have no place to buy anything, not even coffee, no cafeteria, the only good thing is the parking.
Solo los pisos un poco viejo quisas una lavada seria bueno despues estuvo bueno
Not enough parking space
Eh
Bed was comfortable. 5 min walk to the beach and decent food. Took three tries to get the right keys to get into our room. Maybe a Virginia / east coast thing, but none of the staff were very genial, with most not even bothering to look up and acknowledge our presence. Would not stay here again if others were available.
Needs updating.. never left the 50’s
Hotel was comfortably and clean. Needs a bit of updating. Would most likely stay at a more updated hotel in the future.
Needs work, good staff
Found all of the staff to be very accommodating and pleasant. This could be a very nice place if the owners spent the money to fix it up. It rained on Sunday and there was a very large leak in the hallways from floor 6 down to 5. Luckily because I travel a lot I always check to make sure the door is locked behind me. My door did not lock and I had to leave my room unlocked and unattended to go down to the lobby to only be given a physical key to use for my stay. Apparently, this was a known issue because the staff immediately got up and had me sign for the key I was provided. Would not stay again unless some major renovations occurred.
Overall good stay
STAY AWAY. ZERO customer service. Booked for 3 days weekend. On the second day of stay, while family was out, the hotel staff entered our room, discarded all our food and cleared all our belongings out of the room we have paid for. Basically - THEFT. When confronted the supervisor, we were told that there was a system error (between Expedia and the resort) and we are to blame Expedia. In the end, after we have proved the the hotel staff that we did pay for 3 nights, we were back into our room with no compensation for the food that was discarded and not all our belongings made it back to us. The way this incident should have been handled by the hotel staff - an apology with a compensation for at least 1 night stay discarded and lost belongings. This should have been done as soon as they realized that they have made a mistake. Glad we had Expedia to advocate for us and get partial refund weeks later. Would not recommend this spot to anyone.
Nice location
Everything was nice and clean
Everything was really nice and clean. Only down side was the thermostat didn’t work and it was a little warm but not too bad overall.
Son's foot was cut on the pool hot tub remember from out of state
The place has very updated and comfortable suites with good utensils, not exactly overlooking the ocean, but a very short walking distance. The downside was the checking in and out process. Upon arrival at noon, I was not let to check in, though many rooms were available. I was told that only at 4 pm I can check in, but if a room becomes available before 4 pm, I would be called and advised. Unfortunately nobody called me. I clearly seemed that front desk ladies were deliberately false on room readiness, or willing to demonstrate any effort of customer care and hospitality.
We really enjoyed our stay! We will be back!
Terrible customer service. They charge me twice saying they didn't get my payment from orbitz.com for one night stay. At the end I wasn't able to get my money back. From none of them. Do not recommend this place at all.
Overall had nice experience for a last minute getaway.
It smelled like weed and the bed sheets were not fresh. I went back out brought sheets for my room. Just not a comfortable stay and odor. Staff was nice
I love this property. The next time I visit Virginia Beach I will stay at this property. It’s in walking distance to everything all except for Walmart.
VA Fishing Trip
It's a great location and price; the amenities were perfect for my fishing trip. Great to have a kitchenette. The bed was a little hard. I will come back!
The layout of the hotel was really nice and convenient, we loved that we were able to see the pool from the halls above. The location is also conveniently close to the shops, beach, and boardwalk. However, the water stopped working on our second day- not sure if it was an entire neighborhood problem. But it came back up within a few hours as was told via the announcement. We enjoyed ending our nights by watching Friends on TV but for the last three nights, the connection to the cables stopped working so we didn’t watching anything. Overall, the stay was amazing and we recommend if you’re looking for a nice, spacious, clean place to stay on a budget !
We loved the Hotel (everything) You have great employees. Tisha in Laundry was awesome.

Great stay at a great price.
