Would like a heated pool in winter plus more hot tubs Needed black out drapes in room
Fantastic stay
You absolutely exceeded my expectations. What a wonderful hotel, fantastic room, everything about this trip was so easy. My daughter and I had such a good time that I’m hopefully coming back next week with my husband. Staff was wonderful, thank you all very much!
Staff were wonderful and this place is something to see . Would definitely stay again
Ghost town!
We were disappointed, only 1 restaurant was open. The resort was like a ghost town. I am sure it is lovely in the winter for skiing but I would not stay here in the summer. The reception desk had no idea if any restaurants were open. We walked into the pizza place that they actually were acting like they were closed but it was supposed to be open for another hour and the guy that worked there told us he didn't want to make the type of pizza we wanted if we were only going to purchase a couple pieces, he said if we wanted pizza we would have to have the one he had sitting out.
Glamping
Our kids were camping and we decided to join them in style. It was nice and comfy for two.
We Stay here approximately 3 times A Year. Always clean and comfortable It seems every year it gets better with upgrades. Next time we will definitely bring our golf clubs and try the on site course.
Nice
Nice place, including parking below-grade. Very convenient.
Beautiful!
We went while it was off season and for a wedding. The place was peaceful, quiet, and enjoyable. Wished some of the shops were open longer but still fun to walk around and fun places to eat at nesr the resort.
Love this off the beaten path gem.
Beautiful property, It would have been nice if it were fully open, but due to COVID, I don't feel we got the full experience. But we did enjoy the perks included with our stay like the chairlift ride and use of kayaks. This place will be amazing once it's more completed. I loved it.
Pleasant stay for skiing family
We stayed in the king suite with kids. Room is roomy, couch -sofa still leaves enough space. Groomers start early morning so that will wake you up. Tiny kitchenette has more than we needed with dining choices available at the resort just 5 minutes away. The hot spa outside is wonderful after full day on the slopes. Little disappointed with service, room cleaning came at 5 pm when we all relaxed after skiing and really didn’t want to move. We did however received all we needed for next day.
Great weekend getaway!
We visited in between their busy seasons - so many of the resort amenities were not available notably the bike rentals and onsite restaurant. But the room was fabulous, and we drove into town about 6 miles for a great dinner. We had a room with a full kitchen and brought food for other meals during our two day stay. Great hiking around what used to be the golf course (no longer being maintained) and there were trails leading into the mountains. It was a beautiful time to be there, 4/20-4/21 2018. We will definitely go back during ski season!
Lacking attention to detail
There were clothes left in the drawers and the coffee pot had coffee crums in it, which indicates the room wasn't thoroughly inspected prior to our stay.
Nice place
The TV didn't work when we got there but the staff got it fixed the next day.
Hotel close to a ski lift and slopes.
An entertaining overnight stay. Clean, large rooms and a underground parking space to keep you out of the cold. The employees were helpful and friendly.
Wonderful cabin. Spacious and cozy. Great amenities. Would return again and send friends
Exceeded expectations
I was so impressed with the facility, friendly front desk clerk, and surrounding beauty. The room was large and elegant. Classy rustic look. I was impressed and will find as many good excuses to come back as I can!
Mountain getaway
Ann M. at check in was extremely friendly and helpful. Also included in the room stay are two passes per day for activities which was nice. Beautiful setting. Short drive to beautiful McCall. Great stay!
This was a nice facility, big rooms! The skiing was also good, but not much close by for restaurants and the like. Hoping the area will continue to be developed and grow into a nice area to eat/hang out.
This is a wonderful place if you are looking for peace, quiet, and comfort. If you are looking for nightlife and a social scene Tamarack may not be for you. I absolutely loved it.
Ski vacation
Great experience! Loved the room! I was going to take a bat a filled the tub, and there were some floaties, so I decided against it. 😑 other than that, it was perfect!
Motel stay
Arrive late and left early. Will stay again and have a better feel for the area and location.
Great time!!
Although less than it could be Tamarack staff takes such good care of guests, we were very happy with everything during our visit. We are considering a family reunion next year there!
Had a great time
We were a little worried after reading other reviews, but we had an amazing stay at the resort, and all amenities were open and enjoyable. We did get upgraded to a condo so that helped. Thanks so much for a great stay
Nice resort
Beautiful property, in a fairly remote area. Came here to watch the total eclipse. Nice access to lake. Clean, spacious rooms.
Tamarack Resort
At one time I am sure the resort was five star. It is still nice, but starting to look rough around the edges. The shower had enough mold in it to where I wished I had some bleach. The hotel staff was very nice, but not always knowledgeable about things.
Our Eclipse Weekend
Personnel were super, went out of their way for our one person with a disability. Rooms were comfortable. An on site restaurant would've been nice but catered lunch was wonderful. The ability to recycle would have been nice. We did have an awesome time.
Wonderful stay...great place Staff very friendly.
Fun By The Lake
We went when the rate was higher than we would have liked to pay, but it was a good experience.
Fabulous!
We will definitely be coming back soon. This place was so beautiful and peaceful.
Beautiful room and view
We loved our room and view. We had a two night stay at Tamarack. The only down side was the water pressure. We were unable to shower and it took almost and hour to fill the tub to bathe. Do to the low volume of water we were unable to wash dishes or use the dishwasher or washing machine. We told the people at the front desk and their response was the would have their engineers look at it .. We thought we should have been compensated for the lack of ability to bathe but they said that they had no authority to compensate us. We will consider this next time when we are looking for a place to stay for our family get away. Other then that we had a great time. Julie Knight of Meridian Idaho
Nice place to spend a quiet weekend.
Very nice
Beautiful area lots of things to do. Please finish the resort!!!!!
Nice hotel,
nice hotel, a little remote mid week. Appears to have more options on weekends
Review
hotels.com website describes location as tamarack; it is located 50 miles from town of tamarack; caused us to miss trip to hells canyon because it placed us so far from where we expected to be; facility and service were great; hotels.com website and the facility need to make a significantly improved effort to clarify location near donnelley ID not tamarack; unacceptable misrepresentation;
Beautiful mountain ski resort.
Beautiful views. Staff was friendly and very helpful. It was my son's wedding and other then the unusually hot weather, everything was wonderful. The staff did everything to make their day a perfect one. It was nice that the guests had use of the bikes, fishing equipment and able to go up on the ski lift to see the views from the top. Wonderful weekend.
Wow!!
A true five star hotel at a three star price. Brand new, beautiful resort. Exceptionally comfortable room with breathtaking mountain views.
A true get-a-way.
Peaceful. Not a crowd. Surprised by the extras that came with our room.
The setting for the stay is incredible. Uniquely, not having a restaurant running made a difference to my stay at the hotel. It felt like something was missing that I never realized I cared a thing about. Amazing potential here.
Everything was closed
No restaurant or lounge. Like a ghost town. Closest restaurant was in McCall....40 minutes away. Not even taxi service. Waste of time.
It was wonderful and we will go back again
Lodge location is its best attribute. The downside is the unrealistic cancellation policy, un-friendly staff, room amenities that do not work (heat lamp in the bathroom, blow dryer) and the poor condition of the room (poor patch and paint jobs on the walls). If there were ANY other place to stay close to the ski resort we'd skip this one.
it was funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn and nice
Tamarack
Tamarack hotel was lovely, though the resort is barely holding together. There are two restaurants - one open in the morning the other the afternoon evening until 9. They told us there was some bar food at the bar in the hotel when we checked in... but bar food means candy bars, bagged chips and bagged nuts... be sure to make it to the restaurant at the resort during their open times. The internet is pretty slow and we had to rejoin the network several times. The weight room/gym is the best I've ever seen at a hotel... it has almost everything a regular gym has.
Beautiful property. very nice ambience
I only stayed one night at the lodge. It is very cozy looking, but I would say they need to improve the comfort of their beds and pillows. Just changing the pillows would even help. The rooms are quiet and they have a coffee maker in them, although the coffee isn't that great. You can go to the lobby and get free coffee. The bathrooms are roomy and shower has good water pressure.
convenient and clean
Early season, so very few things were open. No bar, no restaurants. Had to travel to town. The room was very nice, but did not have a microwave. We knew the restaurants were closed, so we brought breakfast stuff thinking we'd have a microwave. They did have one in the lobby, but not in the room Other than that, everything was great. Looking forward to going back when the season is off and running to enjoy all the amenities. Outside hot tub was awesome and we took advantage of it.
Must wait some restructuring
toilet bowl was showing black mold growth presence or else.
OK for the mountain area but not for a nice hotel
It is really sad that this Beautiful Hotel (RESORT) has no amenities. I understand that the funding on it has stopped and they couldn't finish the buildings around it either. Eat before you go there. We arrived late at night. NO restaurant, store, vending machine or snacks at the counter to buy. NOTHING! The Pool was closed. It is very dark and hard to find the Hotel on the roads.,The water is Yellow. The lady at the front desk was VERY NICE. I could tell that she felt bad. It isn't her fault.

For the money, tamarack resort is probably the greatest ski destination in the country? If you like low crowds, convenience, beauty, and great snow, this is the place!
