Beautiful hotel in a great location.

Love hate relationship

Bit of a love hate with this hotel. We spent 7 nights here and the general hotel area is good and well presented the bathrooms are very dated and why a bath ?. loved the pool area and staff .Hated we was on the 3rd floor and no lifts? Loved they did a free BBQ for songkran festival. Hated was accused of stealing a Face towel on departure ? they check the room before you can leave .

A fantastic stay

A fantastic stay all the staff were lovely and the facilities were excellent. In terms of location it's fantastic, near the action hbut still quiet at night,

Resort was very good overall.... Although, rooms can be very noisy though, plus marijuana smell from people smoking wasn't good.. Taxi pickup to airport, we asked for a car and got a bus, which was very very slow and frustrating as we were on a time schedule to airport.

We had stayed at the R mar years ago and loved it, so wanted to get back to enjoy the great pool, massages available. It was just the same. Staff very polite and helpful, breakfast was great, with good variety. Rooms were sufficient size with a lovely balcony. We would return again.

Great place to stay. Building view rooms look outwards from resort. Garden view room would have been quieter I think. Next time I would pay the extra money for the garden view room. Great location, close to everything. Nice pool area. Good short cut to the beach down the laneway. Heaps of good dining options nearby. Great medium priced option. Good facilities and good price. If we come back to Phuket again we would stay here.

A total waste of money. Horrible junk view from Balcony, room gets infested with mosquitos if left open for few seconds. Unfriendly staff, can't even communicate properly, housekeeping stole sovuvenir items bought (kept on table when went out). Nil hot water in wash basin, jet spray not working properly. For airport transfer, asked THB 1200 bucks against THB 800 displayed at reception. Much much better options available at same or lower prices

Fantastic place to stay great staff great pool....great spot close to everything.

The resort is located very near Soi Paradise, Bangla Street, and Patong beach, but as it is off the main road, manages to be peaceful on hotel grounds. The room itself was a little dated, having a lighting control panel that was all the way into the room. Also, while the bath tub was quite large, the faucets were a little old, and some corners of the bath had dark spots. On a whole, great stay, friendly staff, and convenient location.

Friendly staff. Cafe was a bonus. Room was clean. Bathroom needs updating. Did not go or late check out

The grounds/ gardens are very nice, good to look at trees and flowers. Room was good, bathroom was badly lit. Also bath taps were so far back that you need to get in to turn them on? Everyday I hung my towel up, indicating no need to change. It was replaced every time, totally unnecessary. Staff were all great. Location is near many shops and restaurants. Pool was great.

Great location

A fantastic stay at R Mar Resort. Friendly staff, good rooms, pool and breakfast. Well placed in Patong, just far away to be peaceful but 5 minutes walk to the heart of the action. Will definitely return

Great location, very friendly staff. Breakfast was good, also the pool and free parking onsite were pretty good. Room - Large, clean with all the necessary amenities, However the shower is poor, old, and not welcoming. The mattress is very hard, for some people it may be suitable but for others not. Bottom line - If you're looking for a reasonable price resort near Patong Beach - go for it.

Brilliant hotel staff where brilliant room was really nice pool was nice can’t fault one thing

Had a fantastic stay at the R-Mar, it is a short walk to all the night life action, shopping & beach. Resort pool with swim up bar was awesome & all the staff were super friendly & very attentive. Rooms are clean & simple, serviced daily & as it isn’t a huge resort it felt quiet & relaxing even so close to Bangla Rd.

I’ve stayed here a few times now, this last time was my worst. I didn’t receive a VIP upgrade, even after I stated that I was eligible. Room was ok, but rooms next to me were very very noisey in the early morning, staff were notified, but did nothing. Not even an offer to change rooms… Breakfast meals are ok Staff are friendly,

This is a hidden gem. Good location, great pools, and a wonderful staff.

R-Mar has lots of positives, good location good pool, nice big rooms but bathrooms are a bit of a hazard with shower over the bath setup. We have stayed at this property on four seperate occasions over the past 10 years, it offers good value for money and is clean and beds are comfortable. Breakfast buffet is available for 200baht per person which is good value, also lots of other dining options handy as well.

Nice size resort

R Mar is conveniently located. It has a shortcut route to the beach, walkable distance to Bangla Road and jungceylon.The suite at R Mar is really comfortable. A nice size resort tuck in the center of various amenities.

I’ll be back

Good friendly staff, very helpful. The room was nice and cleans. The garden was great but you do get some mosquitoes at night as a result. Not to far from Bangla but far enough so not much noise. Will definitely come back.

Stayed for 9 nights in April. Thanks for the upgrade on arrival. Rooms are very clean & comfortable, with large balcony overlooking the pool. Good fridge, TV, wifi, & aircon. Large, clean bathroom - shower & bath are fine but probably due for an upgrade. Excellent buffet breakfast offering. Pool is large & clean & in excellent condition. A couple of very minor negatives: if (per the signs in the bathrooms) the resort is serious about the environment, stop putting the cutlery in single-use plastic wrapping. & please, rotate the (awful whiny pop) music playing at the pool/bar/restaurant. All staff at R Mar are wonderful & friendly, & I recommend the resort to anyone visiting Patong.

Absolutely lovely would love to stay here again

Hotel was overall nice place, nice pool, the room are noisy at times, you can here everything in next rooms and cleaners moving in morning. Food overall good and staff were helpful and friendly.

On the plus side. Well kept, great garden, good pool , good service, polite and friendly staff, size of rooms, clean, . Not so great, the compliment sleepers are there to be reused by other client after you depart. The bathroom needs modernising and more light, difficult to see in the mirror. Add sweetener to the room sugar and tea and café pot. In total 85 point out of 100. I would love to go back. Loved my stay at R Mar.

Quiet oasis in noisy Patong

Modern, well maintained and beautifully landscaped. Very nice pool. Set back in an alley (soi) so no street noise at all, though the liveliest streets of Patong are all around. Airport transfers were performed perfectly.

Great friendly hotel

We totally enjoyed our stay. I live in Thailand and this is te best overall friendly service we have found. Checkin was easy and room was very good. Cleanliness was excellant. Minor compaint bed was bit hard ansd the shower over bath would be very dangerous. Especially if old and unsteady or drunk and too much Yaba. Besides this still would give 9 out 10. Breakfast and pool amazing.

R-Mar is my favourite hotel to stay whenever I’m at Phuket. Nice and quiet. Spacious rooms. Friendly and polite staff.

The staff were excellent and very accommodating when I had advised of my late flight and subsequent cancellation of my flight

They dnt list all rooms on Expedia. Even after paying well, couldnt get the pool view rooms as they were not listed on Expedia. So please call the hotel directly and book. Regarding the property, they are renovating, lights are too less in the rooms. Location, their restaurabt and the pool is very good. Bf spread is delicious. Front desk is a bad trip. You ask for an extra unbrella, an extra access card, beach towels at night, they only say 500 bhat if you do not return, why would anyone not return their things. Didnt like being reminded of the same thing again and again... was a turn off for sure .

4 day stay

Clean, tidy hotel. Friendly staff. Quiet area of town and not far from nightlife or beach.

Location was very convenient with bars, restaurants, massage business, a laundry just outside the RMar plus it's an easy walk to the beach & Bangla Rd. In addition the staff are very helpful, the pool relaxing & the buffet breakfast good value. The mattress is a little firmer than I'm used to but it didn't take long to settle in. And I did hear some noise from Bangla Rd but again just initial settling.

The hotel itself was top notch and the price was reasonable considering the quality. The restaurant food was also excellent. It's a 5 minute walk to Bangla and good 10 minute walk to the beach which could be a negative if you don't like walking. Otherwise, I liked that it wasn't too close to the noise. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

All round nice resort

The hotel and the location was amazing. Everything was perfect until a mess up with my room service where I got the wrong meal and then was made to pay for something I didn’t want. Everything other than that was perfect and I would recommend this

Lovely hotel and the staff very friendly

Because it is a big property reached by a small road, it is quiet and peaceful while a short walk to all the noisy nightlife and the beach.

It was alright the rooms are dated and need a massive renovations.

Modern Hotel, Nice Pool

This is a modern, somewhat basic, quiet hotel that is overall nice and comfortable and a short distance from Bangla. The staff are friendly and the service is good. Wifi was so-so, but good enough for Netflix. The showers have hot water and good water pressure. My only one complaint is the beds are a bit hard, but it is standard by Asia standards. Overall the room was comfortable and spacious. I would definitely stay here again because the price is such a good value.

Room was very comfortable, the staff are very helpful, I would recommend this hotel apart from the the free mini bar. I had 1 bottle coke, sprite, Fanta. There was guests checkin the next day that was told they would have 1 beer for everyday. I ask about me beer. I was told I was not staying there long enough for a beer in the mini bar. I paid money for the room same as them. It shouldn’t matter if it’s 3 nights or 7 nights. We should be entitled to the same mini bar not just soft drinks. Very disappointing.

Everything was great but the 2 things I would recommend to improve is English TV CHANNEL SELECTION, improve water pressure and shower head

Quiet and convenient

The hotel is clean and well kept. It is situated away from the noise of the street, but still walking distance to Bangla and the beach. There’s a beautiful tropical garden, but unfortunately my room had city views, which was basically the wall of the next building. It would have been worth it to pay a little extra for the garden or pool view.

The hotel is great in a central and quiet place, very clean, great staff, great spa and great service. I booked 2 nights initially and extended for another 4 nights

I booked the R-Marr after staying in another Phuket hotel - when I checked in the staff were helpful and really lovely. Initially I wasn’t happy with the room I was given due to the view (I booked the cheaper room rate) however, the hotel were pleased to move my room to an amazing pool view room with a very large balcony and didn’t charge me any extra. Through the stay the staff were really helpful and so lovely, personable and couldn’t have been any more helpful. They printed out all my return travel documents, directed me to Covid testing locally, arranged for a motorbike hire and even have their own transport to the airport. The prices for food and drinks were very reasonable and in most instances cheaper than out of the hotel. The location of the place is superb and a short walk to nightlife. It’s also clear the hotel have recently spent a lot of money upgrading facilities. I was very happy with the Covid secure measures that weren’t over bearing but, more than sufficient to protect guest and themselves. Overall a lovely stay and for the price and facilities -excellent value for money. I would definitely stop here again. Thanks for a lovely holiday :-)

Lovely staff and great value hotel close to everything but nice and quiet.

Absolutely brilliant.

A few days after checking in I became suddenly ill with a heart problem I never knew existed and had to spend a week in hospital. I can't speak more highly of the staff and hotel, besides the calls to check up on me someone travelled to the hospital to see me as well as the flowers that they had delivered. They also wanted to assure me not to worry about not checking out and that my belongings would be left in the room. I booked a further 3 weeks with them not just because of the care and service I received but also because it really is a great place to stay. Highly recommend.

Rules for pool behaviour were posted on wall near pool but not carried out, eg. people putting towels on lounges early in day and disappearing so that there were not enough lounges for others. This policy needs to be monitored.

Great spot in Patong

I have stayed at the R Mar twice. The service is very good, the location is fantastic (peaceful and fun) and the price is decent. The only improvements needed are better breakfast selection and to finish the construction. It will be very nice when completed.

We had a great time at R Mar. Excellent staff and clean rooms. The construction was a bit noisy at times but they have done a great job of isolating the works from the guests. Not an easy job for such a large project. Will return.

There was a construction site but the pool area was nice. The hotel it self was nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was lovely and clean and a good location for visiting anywhere on the area. Breakfast was good witj variety and omlette/egg station to order. Room very pleasant. Beds hard and no matresses toppers available. Only one key for room and refused a second which makes for inconvenience. Pool was frozen - so cold i could not bear to get in and i have swam in many cool waters.

great hotel smack in the middle of Patong...anything your heart desires is minutes away..the staff are quick and helpful and great pool and drinks..stayed here many times and will continue to do so..

Great wee hotel

Hotel is spotless and the staff as usual are super friendly , lots of construction going on but I can say this did not in anyway affect our stay here, there is some concrete work also going on out with the hotel that affects traffic, this looks to be complete in a week or 2 though, all in all great hotel right in the heart of patong and is close to Bangala

Building site not advised to go there now

Hotel is being rebuild. Don’t go there. If no build action it would have been fine. Starting at 8am building noise into the room.

The hotel is now under renovation/construction works :- (i) the construction site is next to the pool, it is noise (ii) smoe renovation carry out within the hotel room, the smell is terrible. No announcements to us when booking. The variety for breakfast is really limited on chice. The staffs not professional and limted in smile, how come from a smiley country, Thailand ? No notices or information to us

Dissapointing

I am only giving this 2 stars because of an extremely disappointing incident. There was no hair dryer in our room but at check-out the front desk workers accused us of stealing the hair dryer. They opened our bags in the lobby and searched us infront of other guests. Of course they found nothing and let us go but this was extremely unprofessional and disappointing.

This is truly a gem hidden in the mist of sooo many hotels in Patong, yes there are an enormous amount of hotels there so when you do find one please stick to it, this was my 7th trip there & I usually stay at the Holiday Inn but since they were completely booked I had to look for an alternative & boy I was so happy to find it. The employees are so much nice than I have read previously, you have to be a total jerk to really have had received somewhat of a bad service because they are super nice & super friendly, rooms are nicely modern, spacious, wood floor, bathroom are nice & remember they do not pretend to be a five stars hotel but once inside you can definitely tell that they truly do care about the details and strive to make it beautiful hotel in the mist of so many, nothing pretentious but just a lot of care & lots of attention to details...Now a couple things just to be aware, yes that beautiful pool pictured is close for renovation until 9/30/19 so I’ve never got the chance to see it, there are no plugs by the bed (king in my case) so charging your phone would have to be by the desk unless you have a 10ft cord, I had the breakfast “Buffet” option added but it’s not, it’s a list that you pick from and you pick one item here & there, that part kuddo to Holiday Inn for spoiling me, there is only one way in and out the resort here and it is at an end of a “L” type street so it makes it sometime awkward to walk past all these shops and restaurant over & over again 👍👍

Beside for the thin walls, I really had a great experience there. The staff was nice and even gave me a discount for checking out late. Hotel was in a quiet street which was really good. Will definitely stay there again

Excellant service

Excellant hotel and facilities great staff. Found out once we got there that the pool was going to be closed!! Hotel manager was very helpful and professional, she helped us get into another hotel (Patong Resort) very pleased with the level of service and will stay here again.....once the pool is fixed😉😎👍

Very friendly staff. Close to the beach. Provided towels for the beach which is alot more convenient then you would think. Staff was very helpful.

Beautiful staff

Beautiful staff, amazing service and really good house keeping. Situated far enough away from Bangla that you don’t hear the noise at night, but close enough you can walk in 5 minutes. The pool is being renovated, but it didn’t seem to matter as the beach is only around the corner.

Construction made it worse.

The room I was in was pretty decent. Very clean but very small. Not much room to move around in. Also there are no outlets by the bed. Only 2 outlets in the whole room. They are also doing construction outside so different times of the day and night will hear banging and drilling. Close to everything. Food, Mall, shopping, and Bangla Rd. Overall was a ok stay. If come back to Phuket I might find a different place.

This is our 3rd stay at this property as its location is great for us and always lovely staff. On this visit they are doing construction work and it was noisy daily from 9 - 5pm, the first day of our visit was the worse but it did get less and less noise as the weeks went by. The pool was open but they will be closing the pool 16th August for about a month so if you like a pool make sure you are aware of this! We couldnt have coped without a pool as we spent many hours there. Staff are all very pleasant and accomodating, rooms are spacious and well cleaned every day.

The staff are absolutely appalling and rude to talk too, my partner cut his head open and they didn’t offer to help at all, the first thing they said was “200 baht for dirty hand towels” and then came and checked our room to see where the blood was before offering any help at all. Couldn’t use pool at all as there is loud noise outside from construction morning to night. The hotel itself is very rundown and old, towels laying all over the place to try and deal with the rain. Internet is terrible so if you are planning on work online, don’t bother. Rooms are hideous and not worth the money at all considering the competition. When I bought up these problems to staff I was basically told to just deal with it or leave. Will never ever come back, it is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

The rooms were very nice and clean. The property location, while central, to get to the beach you need to walk around the block as you are in the middle interior of the block.

The pool was actually quite nice but completely unusable due to a massive construction site the hotel owns. 6 days a week from 8am - 5pm there was unbearable noise. And that was just the start of it. It will be 1-2 years of it, at least into 2021. And the room with the balcony looked onto the construction site. Horrible view and the balcony was unusable. There was one power outlet in the entire room. None by the bed. None in the bathroom. One near the TV. Seriously? Getting in and out of the tub to use the shower required small feats of gymnastics.... good luck if you are short, older, or had a bad back! And the marble lip with 3” drop into the bathroom was a broken toe waiting to happen. The Room service menu was tasty but smallish portions, but reasonably priced. But quite limited hours, ending at 9pm! Breakfast was very basic and we went out after the second morning even though breakfast was free. Tasty omelet but the rest was pathetic. The A/C was great. The “free minibar” consisted of three bottles of soft drinks and two cheap local beers. No snacks. Not worth it at all and seemed like false advertising. Check in was very unpleasant. No service with bags up the steep stairs into the lobby off the street. Due to my mistake on Expedia it was apparently absolutely impossible for my travel partner to have breakfast even thought the room rate specifically was for two breakfasts. Do not recommend.

Nice place, the attached massage parlour and pool are both good. Be careful over the next few months as they have construction outside which is very noisy. Staff are attentive.

Just The overall location and accessibility to everything in patong beach. Literally walking distance to everything around and a great place to stay.

There was a lot of building work going on and I wished I had been told when I booked the hotel. The noise was unbearable.
