Tricky subway situation. You need to walk two avenues down to get to the more accessible stations. The room was decently clean, nothing crazy. Pretty good for the price.

Great location, perfect for someone who uses their room for sleeping and doesn’t spend much time in it. I wish the lower bunk had a reading light.

The Only Hotel I Stay In

I always have a wonderful stay at Pod Times Square! The staff is always on point, the location is great. I always stay here and don’t plan to change that at any point.

Lovely hotel

The property is very convenient for short stays. Location and parking right across the corner from Port Authority. It was also cheaper going through Expedia. Will definitely use again! Thank you.

Great location and clean

Pod has a great location and transportation options around; easy to move to and from times square and other tourist spots; very clean and easy check-in and check-out process, the only thing I would add is a small fridge.

Hotel was good but "restaurant" was lacking.

Front desk was great! Housekeeping was great! Great location. "Restaurant" was lacking. It was not a restaurant. Just served pastries in the morning. I've never stayed at a hotel where the coffee wasn't complimentary-until here. Even the Pod on 39th had complimentary coffee and filtered water. Also the Pod 39 serves actual food in the evening at the restaurant.

The bed was comfortable and the hotel is close to everything and the Subway was super close in the 42st. It’s a nice place to stay if you only planing to be outside for long time because rooms are not that spacious.

It’s located on a great spot in nyc and it’s very well priced! I enjoyed my stay and would recommend!

Convenient and very clean

Location is perfect for a good time in Times Square. The staff are very welcoming and the service for towels and cleanliness was very prompt and perfect. I wish there were separate containers for recycling and trash in the rooms.

This is an ideal hotel for a solo traveler. Rooms are very small obviously, but provide decent enough storage space for your bags and clothing. My only complaint was that the room smelled horribly of stinky feet. They really need to shampoo the carpets or use something to absorb that smell. The elevator situation was a bit of a pain because you had to take two (one to the lobby and one to your room) and it was difficult to tell when the second one was coming, but at least it felt safe. One day on my way out (and in a rush) I asked the front desk for a new roll of TP and they just handed it to me over the counter, so I had to go all the way back up to drop it off, which was inconvenient and kind of embarrassing. I had originally tried calling down from my room but the phone in my room didn’t work. Anyway, I’d stay there again but only as a solo traveler and I think if I get another room that smells like that I’d ask to move.

Very convenient area to stay at

Close to lots of plays and E train station which makes it super easy to get there from JFK. Big Apple Market right around the corner is a major plus.

Good for the Price…

We stayed four nights and the room was as advertised. It’s small and it’s tight but it’s well priced and you’re right off 42nd and 9th so it’s in a great spot to get around Manhattan. There wasn’t anything significantly wrong, just a few minor things. There was some minor mold around the edge of the shower, our sink struggled to drain and while the thermostat was set to 68 the temperature never got below 70. It was $149 a night on hotels.com and with the resort fee and spike for the weekend rates, it ended up costing about $211 a night. We basically used it for sleeping and showering and overall it was good.

According to my Oura ring, I got "optimal" sleep the nights I stayed at the POD Times Square. What more could I ask?

Poor everything

Terribly poor execution of CitizenM concept at slightly lower price. Dark, dank, scary location at night, misleading pictures, no amenities except an unattractive bar. Totally disappointing

Great price for Times Square hotel- but the ingenuity of bathroom didn’t make sense. The water got everywhere on the floor- including the carpet in the main room causing serious mildew stink! Wish they would fix the shower floor and remove the carpet from rooms. The view was amazing!!

Great mother/daughter hotel!

This was the perfect NYC hotel. My 14 year old daughter and I were only in the room to sleep and didn’t need much. The bunk beds were fun and pretty comfortable. It had everything you need for the limited time we spent in the room. It was very clean. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!!

This isn't for you if you have claustrophobia, but I LOVED it! Very efficient use of space, fantastic location, and checkin was super: They upgraded us from bunk beds to a queen (without asking) b/c one was available. I will go back! Very reasonably priced (considering this is NYC).

Cheap by Manhattan standards but the rooms are pretty mid & very small. Very large shower though! And honestly having to take 2 elevators to get to your room from outside is pretty annoying. The payoff is THE VIEW of Times Square if you're on one of the hotel's good sides.

Comfortable

The location is truly perfect, very walkable, the check in and check out processes are very smooth and easy. The staff is friendly and helpful at all times. Even though the rooms are quite small and tight, they have all you need! Would definitely recommend if you want to be near to the bus terminal, Times Square, broadway, and even Penn Station.

I love the pods. Any time I go to NYC it’s my go to stay. Who needs a huge hotel when you have the city to explore. I expect to be visiting many more times. Staff is great and the convenience of having a bar inside is always a perk. Don’t let the name “pod” discourage you.

Room was tiny, but well laid out, comfortable, and very clean. The Midtown location is excellent — 15 minute walk from Penn Station, 10 minutes to Times Square. All in all, The Pod has everything you need and nothing you don’t.

Small room but served our purpose! It was dark in the hallway, but the room was clean. Great option and location when you are there for the area and not the room itself.

One of elevators was out of order. Coffee facilities in room would be a good idea.

My complaints: The rooftop terrace was closed the whole time, which was a little disappointing. The air vents needed some serious dusting, only one elevator working to enter and exit. They don't give you directions on how to work the bluetooth for headphones to connect to the TV stationed for each bed and only one remote worked. We were changing the channel on both TV's. Also the beds weren't the most comfy. What i liked: The staff was friendly. The shower water got really hot, which was amazing. The location is perfect for Times Square. Amazing price especially with the location. All and all If you're only doing a weekend it's perfect, if you were doing a long stay I would want something a little bit more comfortable. I would rate my experience a 7 out of 10

This property is all about location as it is very centric to all touristic places. The staff is friendly, however, the hotel has room to improve the cleanliness.

Very secure hotel.

Pod was at a great location, walkable to the Times Square subway station. The weather was nice so we ended up walking to Times Square, Central Park, and Rockefeller center. Had a late flight and the Pod was able to hold our luggage after checkout.

This gem is conveniently located just a few blocks from Times Square so you don’t have to worry about the blazing lights or loud atmosphere! The rooms are quaint but comfortable! I love the security of having to take the escalator to the lobby and use your key to access the actual rooms!AND…the Uber shuttle drops off across the street!

Close proximity to everything!

Tiny but efficient rooms. The bathrooms have frosted glass so privacy is difficulty. Excellent location and the staff was wonderful.

Pod Times Square is reasonably priced, though no frills whatsoever. The bathroom is glass in the Full pods.

First time staying at a POD hotel and we had a great experience. The rooms were clean and staff were friendly and helpful. I will be booking with the POD hotel again for future stays!

The room was excellent actually. Not quite what I was expecting, but great. The bed and pillows were so great. The bathroom was cute. Room was cozy.

Must take 1/2 elevators up 6 floors to lobby then a second elevator up to room. No AC in lobby or main area. Halls and bedrooms smell like dirty old water.

Easy and convenient no frills stay near Times Square. Check-in and checkout very simple, I stayed for two nights to see two shows. This was perfect for one person traveling alone to see theatre.

This is a great place to stay. Very close to everything. It’s also very clean inside and everyone is friendly. Would recommend.

Good for short people or tiny or more. There is one heavy guy on the lobby who has no idea and slow.

I liked how friendly and efficient the staff were. The cafe/bar serves drinks at a decent price. The room itself was in an ok condition, I only really had problems with the bathroom since mine smelt a little weird and I was given a towel with a stain on it. Otherwise I had a very lovely stay!

All About The Pod!

Very modest in price considering it is in Times Square! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is also right across from the NY Port Authority and the subways, so it was not a hassle. Also, the vicinity’s of restaurants and souvenir shops is excellent. The only thing I would recommend in the future is that they have microwaves and fridges in their rooms, so patrons won’t have to eat cold left overs and they should not request to have a fridge sent to their room.

A good budget hotel

Simple, clean. Great for budget travelers who are not spending much time in their hotel room. A clean place to shower and sleep. No frills but very decent.

Good Location & Clean & Comfy

This is a nice, safe place to stay near Port Authority Station. You are near Hell's Kitchen and other places like Times Square and Korean Town. The beds are small but comfy and the bathroom has a nice bigger shower. Everything is clean.

The place is centrally located, about a 5 minute walk to Time Square. Lots of eating options around and the subway station is about a block away. The room was small, but was plenty as I was there to vacation not to have a huge room. Easy in and out. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I wish I would have checked out the bar by the lobby but was out and about the entire time.

Fantastic location and impeccably clean.

Simple but clean, had the necessities. We only used it to sleep and shower so it was all we needed. The baggage storage is nice and fast, and they even offered free ponchos at the front desk when it was raining. Would stay again for the price and accessibility to the subway and central location.
