Ehhh- if you just want location in the heart of it
Pretty outside, loud location, rooms are glorified motel rooms- loud… and need some basic maintenance- lobby only area of luxury.
Great staff
Not horrible but won’t stay again.
We were not pleased however the bell hops, were wonderful. Other staff were nice as well. They really need to paint the rooms. The bathroom receptacle was faulty but we finally got the blow dryer to work. Beds and pillows were way too soft for our liking. Location was good.
Location, location location! Helpful staff, quiet and convenient to most sights. There's history around every corner.....
I liked the location. It was close to Riverfront and also close to other historical areas. We were able to walk everywhere. I also liked the wine receptions.
Older hotel but very convenient to the River Walk. Comfortable room. No complaints.
Adorable historic hotel
This hotel was just a step away from a beautiful little garden, one of many in the city of Savannah. The room was exactly as pictured, which took our breath away when we walked in. The high post wooden frames for the bed were beautiful. The reception in the evening looks like it would have been wonderful if we had time to stay. The beds and pillows were wonderful. The only downside is I didn't recall reading about having to pay for parking. Valet was only a few dollars more than the 24 hour lot across the street. Otherwise, we had no problem accessing everything. So close to River Street that we were able to drop our car and bags off just twenty minutes before our ride on the riverboat. It's also right next door to The Olde Pink House, which is apparently a local favorite!
so close to everything. extremely walkable
Wonderful and Centric!
The service and people that work there are amazingly friendly! Hotel is very centric to everything.
Beautiful hotel, great location. Valeted the car and never moved it. Nice happy hour, very pretty lobby. Only negative was the lack of mini fridge in the room.
Was convenient to historic area however faced large dingy garage. Indigent or homeless surrounding hotel was unnerving and lots of construction and broken streets.
Loved this Inn!! My only complaint was it was too cold for me, but otherwise perfect!! Staff was awesome!!
I stayed at the Inn during Savannah’s St Patrick’s weekend and it was great being able to walk just about everywhere. The Inn is old and my room could use a little TLC. Overall it was vey pleasant and I would stay there again.
Great location for a modest price. Wine and live piano music nightly in the lobby was delightful!
Planters Inn is located in the perfect spot in downtown Savannah, easily within walking distance to almost everythingTheir staff are all friendly, the rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The inn offers nightly complementary wine, cheese and crackers and warm cookies! I would definitely come back and stay at Planters Inn again!
I was traveling alone and wanted to stay within walking distance to restaurants/shopping. This hotel's location was ideal - just a block or two off the main part which gives it a little bit less business. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. I enjoyed my stay.
The very best!;
Perfect location. Hotel is definitely overdue for a refresh.
Great spot in Savannah
Great location. Hotel with lots of character. We were looking for a smaller, cosy hotel close to the river but not a huge corporate place. This fit the bill
Planter's Inn is in an excellent location for walking to see many of the Savannah sites. The property itself is clean and comfortable, and every staff member we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. Loved the lobby. It's unfortunate that the parking is so expensive and the cars are parked so close together in the parking garage. Other than that, we had an excellent stay.
Excellent location to parade route , hop on bus, riverfront
Cute place, great location
I really liked the location. Very close the river walk. Aways from where the bars were but not too far. Probably 5 min walk if that. It did get loud at some points at night but it was St Patrick's day weekend. It was close to a parking garage which I didn't like because there were some annoying people that would rev there motor in the car and it was loud. I did not like that. Woke us up a couple times. The beds need new mattresses and box springs. They were so creaky. With every movement the bed creaked. I flipped the mattress to see if that would give more support but that didn't help. There was AC that did work and was not loud at all. It was a really cute room. It it wasn't for the mattress and box spring creaking so much I would highly recommend this place. Maybe they have other rooms that don't have old beds. I would stay again and maybe ask for a new room if it wasn't all booked up.
Nice hotel, great staff. Hotel has a great location and is nice, but it could use an upgrade. I’m saying that I’m booked there again next St. Patrick’s Day. Valleys / doorman are super nice and friendly.
Planters Inn was perfect for a weekend getaway with my husband! We loved it!
Planters inn is a quaint hotel within an excellent location. We enjoyed our stay there while in Savannah. We are VIP in Expedia and we received no perks from this facility.
If you want to explore Savannah this is the best place to stay. We walked everywhere it was so convenient. Staff was awesome as well, very helpful and friendly.
The staff were all very nice. I can remember the one gentleman’s name but he usually worked during the day to get my car for me and was always so nice. A lot of places to eat and shop were walking distance.
A Great Stay
This hotel is in a perfect location! We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese in the evenings with the piano playing. It was a great way to socialize with others in the building and make new friends (not that you have to). I only wish they had rooms with king-size beds. My husband and I are not big people, but I always sleep better when I can spread out. Also, in the restrooms, the cleaning crew may want to look under and behind the toilets...they have been neglected.
The property was a bit tired. Staff were pleasant, but I thought it was pretty low-end that that are not making up the rooms on a daily basis, at that price point. When I asked for the room to be made up, I was told I “could pick up some fresh towels at the front desk.”
We enjoy our staying there
Received a bottle of wine upon arrival. Cookies and cheese plates during the day. The coffee offered in the lobby was better than in the room! Friendly service
Great location on a lovely historic square. I’d stay here again.
Old style very well maintained and well located for restaurants and shopping. Great public transportation and sight seeing options.
In the heart of historic Savannah
Great location in the heart of Savannah's historic district, an older building that's been well kept. Rooms are small, however, and dimly lit. While there's no restaurant, there are plenty of dining options nearby, and an easy walk to the riverfront.
This property was in a great walkable area, convenient to all top to do's in historic Savannah. The hotel is older but the room was comfortable, the staff lovely and all was clean and as expected. We got a great rate for this stay so were very pleased overall for the excellent value. There was an evening wine & cheese reception with a piano player that many guest stayed to enjoy.
One thing different about this hotel was that instead of swiping our card at the counter upon arrival to pay for the hotel, they ran my card earlier that day, which was unexpected and follied our plans a bit.
Everything was wonderful. Great location and staff. The only negative was how squeaky the bed was. Evertime you moved or rolled over there was a loud squeak that was annoying.
Exceptional!
Beautiful old hotel with wonderful staff. Complementary bottle of wine in every room, free wine, cheese and crackers and lovely piano entertainment every afternoon in the lobby is just wonderful! I've stayed here twice and would love to return.
Great staff nice accommodations!!
Winter Getaway
Hotel gave us a bottle of wine upon checkin, had a wine and cheese meet every day from 430-630. Rooms were basic but had ample room and were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
Property was charming. Loved the complimentary happy hour and cookies at night time. Staff gave us wonderful dining recommendations. Will definitely stay again.
Lovely historic property in phenomenal location. Helpful front desk personnel and memorable happy hour in the lobby. There is valet parking or self-parking next door. We had an enjoyable time at Planters Inn and look forward to returning soon.
Did not appreciate that easy updates remedies were not taken to show that the room had been cleaned . Hopefully it had! Multiple spindles missing from meds. Toilet paper roll holder was missing so a half used roll was just sitting on top of the toilet lid. Gross. The overwhelming smell of marijuana as soon as you got off the elevator was embarrassing. Charged for valet parking even though I parked my own car so hopefully that charge will disappear.
Great location. Enjoyed the wine and cheese party each day.
Decorated like a gentleman's club from another era transports you back in time. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Pianist was lovely and the bartender. Administrative staff, valet, and housekeeping are excellent. Location is prime and walkable to most things.
Great location and wonderful staff - helpful and very accommodating. Bathroom left a little to be desired.
The location of the inn is great. Easy access to the river but also a part of the historical district. The room was small and needs updating. The lobby was cozy. It was a good value for the price.
Rooms were spacious and very quiet. Location was great. Overall really enjoyed the hotel. Bed was creaky and no refrigerator, although quieter without one.
I believe they take advantage of guests when it coms to parking. $34 valet a day is ridiculous! They have a contract with the city for the 1st floor of the parking garage next door, with the cost of the rooms being more than similar hotels with free parking, you would think that non valet parking would be maximal $15 per day. Im sure there is a hospitality tax on every room.
Excellent Staff - great location - needs to be renovated.
We liked that it was a quaint property and in a good location. Very walkable to many attractions. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.
Very quaint and excellent staff in perfect location to enjoy all that Savannah has to offer. Only drawback is occasional noise in the evening.
Wonderful hotel in the middle of Savannah…most is walkable. Fantastic staff all around. Beautiful hotel room, very comfortable. Very accommodating hotel… due to flight schedule, I was granted earlier check in and later check out at no additional cost! All around, definitely stay here and it is a 5/5 stars. My only suggestion would be to get a different TV provider as DISH either went totally out once and our entire stay some of our favorite channels were scrambled due to poor DISH TV service, however this hotel’s WIFI is super fast. DiSH TV is out of this hotel’s control so I see zero negatives about Planter’s Inn.
Loved the piano player and wine and cheese was a nice touch.
Loved this place! Definitely will be back
The staff is friendly. The nightly wine and cheese with music was a very nice touch.
Service was great. Wine and cheese happy hour was a nice perk.
Great stay!
The Planters Inn was outstanding. The location, value and amenities and we had a wonderful experience!
My go to place in Savannah. Staff is wonderful. Perfect location
We had a great stay at the Planters Inn. Booked last minute on Expedia and got a great deal. Small room but comfortable bed. Wine and cheese and piano music at 4:30 a nice touch. Great location. Public parking right next door $28 a night. .
Check in staff went out of their way to accommodate me and improve my room. Wine and cheese in the lobby was an extra bonus!
Quaint Inn with charm
Planters Inn is a quant little Inn in the heart of Savannah. The location is perfect for walking to everywhere you want to go in the Historic District. The staff was excellent and extremely accommodating and friendly. The wine and cheese happy hour along with a gentleman playing the piano in the lobby was a beautiful touch. There is a parking garage across the street which was convenient. The hotel room itself did lack some. The building is old and our room had a slight odor to reflect the age of the building. It definitely needs some TLC like painting and good deep clean. But even with that said we did enjoy our stay.
Our stay here was very nice! The staff is super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. We even got our room upgraded as a surprise for our 47th anniversary! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family.
Love the location. So convenient! Very clean and tge staff are great!
A Warm Welcome
You will be greeted by a doorman or valet with the most pleasant disposition making you feel welcome and comfortable.
When arriving they couldn’t find our reservation..when they finally checked us in our room had all the furniture on top of the beds ..we had to call front desk and have someone come up and remove the furniture…there were paint chips around the edge of the floor and in the bathroom…the toilet wouldn’t flush properly so we had to keep a cup next to the toilet and fill with water to put in the bowl while flushing…we enjoyed the overall stay and seeing the sights in Savannah…probably would not recommend this hotel to friends and family..could have been because it was off season.
The location was great! One of Savannah’s famous squares is right outside, and River St is very nearby. Very walkable.
safe, quiet, nice big room, in historic area, walk to museums, restaurants
Everyone was very accomodating. Pleasant atmosphere. Convenient to everything we needed. Have stayed before; will stay again.
Nice old hotel with charm. Great communication, for checkin, checkout and valet. Would stay again.
Older property. Very convenient to Savannah attractions.
Amazing location and staff. Carl at the door is a gem.
Great location and prices are good. Hotel is just dated and worn a bit but rooms are clean. Staff was lovely and helpful.
Thanks a lot!!!
Great location but in dated condition.
Location was great and staff was very helpful and polite. Hotel condition is a bit dated and while our room was very spacious, the bed was terribly squeeky, we didnt sleep for the whole week which was very unfortunate. The cleaning of the room was never complete, something was always left out.
Absolutely perfect location in the heart of Savannah! Beautiful inn with great people!
There was a lot of snow, bad timing for me.😳
The Inn is located in a very good spot and and its location is central to easy parking, restaurants, or the Riverwalk, and plenty of squares. The building itself is a little tired.
This hotel epitomizes the atmosphere of Savannah. Will definitely stay here again.
The location is great easy walking distance to River street. Staff was friendly, room was clean but not very big. What i did not like was in order to get parking you had to use the valet service. A small breakfast bar would be nice.
Fantastic location and staff. Comfortable , charming hotel Could use a facelift but always enjoy my stay
Excellent location. Very cute and it has great service!
I really like The Planters Inn. Friendly, convenient to all the sights of Savannah and just the right amount of older hotel.
Complimentary wine and cheese late afternoon, staff outstanding and helpful, clean and comfortable.
Great location and friendly staff. Doorman was so friendly and offered great suggestions on where to eat.
Definitely needs updated. The room freshener they use is very potent, holy cow. Bathroom window shade did not cover the whole window so you are exposed to the parking garage next door. There was a cup of water on my nightstand when I checked in as well lol
Incredible location!
You cannot find a better location than Planters Inn. It was next door to Olde Pink House! The building is beautiful and the room was plenty big enough. They only offered two twin beds for friends, instead of two queens but it worked out perfectly as we were barely in the room. Super nice staff and gorgeous lobby. I only wish we could have stayed longer!
Southern Charm
Piano player, wine, & cheese in the lobby was such a nice Southern touch. Strangers mingled and hummed along.
Really disappointed - run down, no amenities - nothing like the pictures
Great time great location too
It was ok
The location was absolutely perfect. The staff were really nice and the room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Savannah!
Historic , comfortable with great location.
Good base for touring Savannah
Quiet stay on a snowy night in Savannah Charming colonial hotel in a great location with convenient city parking lot Not great on the amenities but very clean and comfortable Friendly attentive staff
Savannahs finest but we! You need socks, baby
This is the most adorable, friendly place to stay! Very nostalgic and true to Savannah in appearance. My only concern was little updates that could be addressed. Our toilet never filled high enough to flush just tissue down-ever. The safe didn’t work either. Such small fixes. Truly a gem to stay at especially location! Within site of good restaurants and trolly stop was right there. Did I mention wine & cheese hours for guests? So good!! Also… a beautiful pianist (Jill) playing every night! So cool! Excellent Bellman! Loved this place
Outstanding!
I’d long planned to stay at this particular spot on one of my travels to Savannah. It’s didn’t disappoint! Centrally located, a more than friendly staff, big clean rooms. This will definitely be my first choice on my next sojourn to the Garden of Good & Evil! Thanks again to the staff at Planter’s Inn! You made my visit so much more memorable!
Southern charm
This hotel is very charming, Check-in was easy and the staff were all very friendly.
Everything was great except parking was difficult. Hotel doesn't offer parking unless you use valet. No free parking
The hotel is ideally located, left our car in the garage next door and walked to all the historic sights. It’s an old building, and loaded with charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I will be staying at the Planters Inn next time I’m in Savannah.

This hotel, although once grand, is in need of a face lift. One of the outlets didn’t work, and one of the bedside lamps had a burnt out bulb. But the really annoying thing about stay was the bed - I expected we would get a king, or at least a queen, but the bed was smaller than a queen. A Full size I guess, and VERY creaky. Like every time you move, the mattress would creak. Loudly.
