We had a wonderful stay. Upgrading to the Reserve was well worth it. Access to an additional restaurant, pool, and steak-house menu items were all valuable adds. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pools were close by and roomy. Swim up bars were well stocked and staffed by great bartenders. Can't really offer any critical comments.
We had a reservation with this property and due to travel documents not being ready in time,we tried to contact the property to see if we can reschedule our reservation. After calling twice they transferred me and it just hung up on me both times. After the third time calling, they gave me an email for a front desk help. I emailed on April 30. It is now May 16 and I still haven’t heard anything back. The communication on this property is almost impossible and you are thrown into a circle of endlessness. It’s very unfortunate because we really wanted to be a returning customer and wanted to plan our wedding at this resort and the fact that we got absolutely no help is very disappointing. Customer service is absolutely terrible and now we lost a reservation with absolutely no help at all. It seems they don’t care about people staying here and they just care about taking your money. It is now May 16 and I just called again and asked for an email or phone number for a manager and they just told me they couldn’t help me and I have to call back the most unprofessionalism I’ve ever experienced.
This was our second time staying at this property and it was still fantastic. There are a lot of great food options and didnt have anything we didnt like. Everything was clean and well organized
Excellent customer service from everyone we encountered. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful private beach for hotel guests. Workers cleaned up the seaweed all day long (if necessary). Large gorgeous room with a comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again!
Great stay for a couple get away, Great food, Clean property, Not too much entertaintment,
this resort was insane!! hands down the best i’ve ever been too! the food was incredible, like so many options and surprisingly the buffet was top tier! no one got food poisoning and instead we actually had less bloating! shoutout to eduardo and carlos for their service at hadar resto! the cleaners came in everyday with fresh bedding and towels so it was always fresh. every morning we were greeted by the staff and this amazing scent infused in the air. don’t get me started on the weather, 34 degrees, UV 11, access to the pools especially farenheit pool for their activities like aqua fit and volleyball was so much fun! the drinks were STRONG not watered down at all hehe and the beach was beautiful, slightly rocky, i do wish it was more smooth and sandy but that’s okay the cabanas and chairs were great with lots of bar options. the night life was good, a lot of our resos were late so we missed some activities like karaoke so hopefully they can extend the hours next time! the room was insane, private bathroom, walk in double shower, jacuzzi, king size bed, hammock, 2 min walk to the beach and pool like wow. i’m genuinely so sad to not be there right now but don’t worry we will be back next year! 10/10
Falta aseo en el la piscina principal y edificios
The jungle area was awesome! Don’t like the cheap liquor options if you weren’t reserve Pool closed at 6 :(
This resort exceeded our expectations, we had an amazing experience! The property is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and clean. Every staff member went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. I don’t usually have high expectations for food at all inclusive resorts but the restaurant food is delicious. Amazing experience, I would definitely stay here again!
Great stay!
Me gustó es la segunda vez que me quedó y me quedaría otra vez la gente que trabaja ahí es muy amable y atenta
Property was very nice looking but not enough chairs by the pool and the food was just ok.
Very nice resort! I really recommend it.
Beautiful location.
Great visit. Service was excellent, property was very clean, and food options were good. Would stay again
Great resort. Food was amazing, pool was lots of fun. Quick cab ride into downtown. Staff here was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.
Great resort, very clean, lots of great food options. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend.
Great pools and restaurant
This Resort is absolutely perfect! Amazing staff, always ready to satisfy all your needs. Great room service, friendly people. The food is great and the amenities are perfect. 5/5 Highly suggest!!!
We've been to several all-inclusive resorts in Mexico (including Fairmont Mayakoba).. and this one has been our favorite! Upon our arrival we upgraded to the "reserve" area for a very reasonable cost and it was well worth the price. We truely can't say enough about the quality of the staff and food. We loved everything about this trip! To name drop Carlos (our concierge) and Alejandra (front desk) really made our stay extra special --- THANK YOU!
Nice resort. Upgraded to reserve at check in. Room and view was beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Most of the Bartenders were disrespectful to older guest.
Great time! Very nice property!
Staff were excellent. Rooms were big. My only complaint was the lack of the activity schedule access, which we found in the fitness centre only, and the staff were not sticking to that schedule for the first few days until another traveller complained to management. The last half of the trip was very engaging.
Clean, friendly service, and the food was excellent
Everything met or exceeded expectations except the wading area of the ocean. Huge rocks under the water everywhere...
Loved the resort. My favorite in playa del carmen. Great dining options, loved the beach and pool. Room was spacious clean and luxurious.
The staff are second to none! Very courteous, extremely helpful, and very sincere about the service they provide. I had a question about their services, and contacted one of the concierges, who got right back to me on his day off! Very impressive going above and beyond. The food and entertainment was fantastic! The grounds were always being kept up, and everone was so accommodating to ensure our time was maximized for relaxation and no time waiting in lines for anything! Looking forward to going back!
Absolutely beautiful, staff were excellent, i thought food was amazing and appreciated the security. 10/10
Excellent resort and we will definitely come back!
The service of the property has to rectify their attitude after some negative actions.
modern, lots of concrete, very clean
The resort is beautiful with a lot of dining options. The entire property is very well maintained. The only thing I would suggest is better way to announce daily activities. You had to hunt things down to find out what was happening daily.
Our stay at Paradisus La Perla was fantastic. The food was a highlight, with a wide variety of options at the buffet and specialty restaurants, including Asian cuisines. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure all our needs were met. I particularly enjoyed the numerous activities offered, such as evening entertainment and many more. The location was beautiful, right on the beach, offering stunning ocean views and easy access to the water. Overall, the hotel provided a perfect balance of relaxation and entertainment, making my stay truly memorable. I would like to extend a special thank you to Eduardo and Olga, who went above and beyond during our stay. Their warm and attentive service made a significant difference in our experience, always ensuring we had everything we needed and checking in to make sure we were comfortable. Both of their friendly demeanor and dedication to their work truly stood out, and we are grateful for their exceptional hospitality. Thank you for making our stay so memorable! :)
Room had a musty odor. There were not enough chairs at the pool or on the beach for everyone at the property. I also didn’t realize that the adult and family resorts were connected and shared quite a bit of facilities together. Not a place to go if you truly want to be kid free.
Had a great time!!! All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this resort!!!
This facility used to be great in 2016. My recent visit it was dirty, smells of mold. The food was awful especially in the Hadar, the only breakfast option available. Not safe because my sister’s gold jewelry was stolen from her room. It’s not worth the money we spent on this trip. Guest services were attentive and followed up when I needed medical care. Only positive was Guest services
We stayed at Paradisus La Perla in 2016 and again in January 2025 and the quality of the resort has drastically decreased. Most notably, we believe our gold jewelry was stolen from our room by housekeeping on the third day of our stay. gold necklaces was in jewelry box and inside the carry-on after wearing them, instead of the safe. Upon our return home, we realized that they're no longer there. Additionally, other family members who vacationed with us experienced bribery from staff members at reception who promised room upgrades for a cash payment on the side. Towels smelled of mildew, bathrooms had a sewage smell, the food in the buffet is very poorly prepared and basically inedible. so this sealed the deal for never returning to Paradisus Playa del Carmen. Beware!
From day one our concierge was nowhere to be found and remained uncontactable for the majority of the trip. Unless he was promoting some expensive excursion or add on to upsell us. We had poor room service that would not give us water for days and we did not reveieve a majority of the amenities we were entitled to as reserve gusets highly to do not recommend and emmanuel our concierge should be re-evaluated to make sure his performance can meet even the lowest of standards.
Beautiful reaort. The only thing i would say, is there were not as many options for nightly entertainment as other resorts i have been to before
The property is lovely!
Perfect exept for service at all dinner restaurents.
Accident good time
Paradid La Perla is the best resorts we've ever been in. Our own host Hector was amazing and kept us updated on activities and restaurant reservations through texting. Gabriel at the front desk was also very helpful. Besides the delicious food at the buffet, make sure you try all their restaurants as the food there is exceptional. Flora and Lemon Fish is a must to try. Japanese restaurant was also amazing. They have two options - cook cooking in front of you and also menu option. The cook was very fun and entertaining and let me participate in cooking! Everyday we had pool activities. We had a fun water balloon and foam party. They also have a quiet area for those who want to relax in peace. The resort itself is gorgeous and very clean. We had an amazing experience at the resort, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We are planning to return next year.
Was ok.
This was the best place we have ever stayed!!! Everything was perfect and i cant say enough about it. Food was out of this world!!! Absolutely a 10/10. We will be back! Perfection!
The resort is decorated with warm earthy tones which I find very relaxing. Pools are kept clean. Service is fantastic. Hadar buffet has a good variety of food. Lemon Fish, Tokimeku, and Teppanyaki restaurants have fantastic food and excellent service.
The property is very clean, and the grounds are so beautiful with all of the green plants. You really get the tropical feel. Everything is easily accessible and there are bars and places to eat at every turn. The quiet places are a nice touch, and the pool area is fun and relaxing. Just a paradise .
Excellent service
From the moment we arrived Sergio at the front desk was welcoming, helpful, and answered all of our crazy questions. Luis and Paul in concierge made our stay wonderful by making sure the birthday girls felt special on their birthday. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back to stay.
Very clean and spacious resort! Attentive and friendly staff.
We stayed at this resort many times, always great! The reserve section is really worth it.
This property was not only beautiful but also the staff was awesome. I loved it.
Amazing hospitality and food options!
This was our first time being at an all-inclusive Adult Only resort, that being said as a first timer the following are my thoughts. The resort was clean, a beautiful facility. Tipping is expected. That was really not something I was prepared for, although the hotel was able to charge my credit card for pesos that we could give out. Almost all of the staff were friendly and helpful, the exception being a gal we booked our dinners with. She seemed a little irritated when explaining the rules of booking meals. When you check in, the staff will try and sell you The Reserve package which puts you in a more exclusive part of the resort (not very big and the benefits really don't get you much, I feel). I'm not sure if this is normal for all-inclusives. Be aware that there is a family side of the resort and some of the dining options are in that area. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay.
Room was upgraded but was not clean, Ac was not working bathroom stack ants on the table. Took them 2 days to fix the problem. Is no communication there
Cockroach…
The hotel was clean and beaten
Was very nice
A great great hotel would definitely return! Recommend without reservation
Exelente comida y el servicio está muy bien Lo malo es la playa tiene muchas piedras y no puedes disfrutarla
Excellent hotel and service. Highly recommend!
Solo Experience
Incredible getaway for myself where I was just looking for a few days to relax. Activities during the day to keep you occupied if needed and decent entertainment at night but this is a relaxed resort so don't expect anything late into the evenings.
Its not something unique for me. All stuff absolutely amazing, very helpful. I don't like, that music was so loud. From 11 AM i can't stay on the poot principal because of this.
it was clean modern and gorgeous and big enough for everyone to get to do what they are looking for. if you want loud music or no music its all possible
Amazing resort
I asked for the wine that was promised and nothing. Maybe I should’ve argued more but it was not worth my time
Food was fabulous no matter where you eat. There was a lot we weren’t told and wish we were. 1. We were given a menu to the restaurants and it had pricing on it. Our concierge didn’t tell us since we were in the “reserve” no fees applied to us. 2. Ya better plan for 60 mins to check out. We waited so long our ride to the airport had to wait and they hold your bags hostage until you do. We ran to the main entrance which we never knew there was since they took us by golf cart to check in at the “reserve” desk. 3. Steak house seats were so bad my back hurt for two days from sitting at dinner - no joke. 4. When you book they send you a questionnaire. I don’t think they read it. Our first night dinner was booked past our usual bedtime at the Asian restaurant though we listed our fav dinner is steak, mex and Italian. Night one ate at the buffet because of this and night two we ate room service because we were booked at the steak house and saw the shocking charges so we didn’t eat there if we knew that was included it would have been nice! 5. We had no idea which restaurant was which because they had odd names 6. The coffee shops also are included in your all inclusive again we had no clue until the day we checked our 7 hot tub outside our room dripped water and couldn’t be used 8. Only cold water came out of the shower on one side
My wife and I came with two of our great friends and had an amazing time at La Perla. The hospitality by the staff was amazing and the swim-up pool was perfect. Enrique, Alfredo, Alexis and Jesus at the reserve pool bar had the perfect drinks ready to go every day. I can’t say enough about the customer service at the resort. One of the best we have experienced.
My fiancé and I had an amazing time at this resort. The food and drinks were amazing and the service of our butlers and conceirge was great! I would travel back to this resort again!!
Overall property was nice and clean, however the dining was horrible and the service was not very fast. Food options were minimal, and you had to make reservations to eat dinner anywhere but the buffet. The buffet was small and not good protein options. Also the American food options were just bad - they had a lot of Indian and bizarre foods available. Room service food was also bad and actually made us sick. We paid for an upgraded room but our provided concierge wouldn’t book reservations for our whole group. There were times when our room wasn’t cleaned until 3pm and there were not even that many people at the resort. Also, they wouldn’t serve us Baileys with our morning coffee until 10am but they were okay with giving us mimosas with alcohol - which doesn’t make sense. None of these have ever been issues at any other resort we’ve stayed at. Overall not impressed
The beach area is nice and clean. It has a contemporary feel and smelled good
Great resort
EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT
Nice staff, good food, good pool. I don’t want to leave.
Truly a humbling blessing, Top down 5 Star property, staff and etc
Everything about this property was above and beyond all of my expectations! It was so peaceful and serene, and the staff was so accommodating and lovely! Each moment felt special and unique, and I am definitely coming back again!
I love this place will definitely revisit!
The property was fantastic. It was as clean as it was luxurious. The pools, beach, food, and activities were all superb.
We stayed on the adult/ LaPerla side this time after staying on the family side numerous times over the years. The hotel itself if BEAUTIFUL, especially on the adult side. However, the adult pool was a total no for us. The music/ DJ was so loud, we couldn't hear each other and the "entertainment" was pulling female guests up for a twerking contest. No thanks. The bartenders at the pool bar were just so unfriendly and the wait was way too long for a drink. And the pool itself looked worn and kind of dirty. So, while we totally loved the adult side atmosphere and lack of kids, we hung out at the family pool every day just to avoid that whole pool and scene.
The staff was extremely friendly and that made the stay bearable, but the amenities were misleading. When we booked it said premium drinks the selection was not premium, at best mid shelf. Our flight was delayed so when we got to hotel we were not able to make any dinner reservations, they tell you to go and see about seating but they can never accommodate you. The buffet is limited, not a big selection for any of the meals, snack bar by pool had better food. We were upgrade to the Reserve area but our in room tub did not work, one of the 2 showers was also not functioning and to call for room service we had to use the bathroom phone. All in all it was a good vacation, can't stress enough how nice and willing to accommodate the staff was which is the only reason I would consider going back but don't think it deserves a 4 or 5 star rating.
The hotel is beautiful. It’s an oasis and the room is gorgeous. This has been the only hotel so far after 10 years of traveling that has accommodated me well by being an Expedia member. The food, however, has to be revamped. Staff added too water to the sauces, beans and other condiments. It was hit and miss. My only favorites were the papaya and the green chilaquiles. There should be a buffet open 24/7 with a variety of food every day. The strawberry margarita and the mango one were delicious. The outside city surrounding the hotel is unsafe, though.
It was all nice. good relaxation place. staff was great. the entertainment pool staff was awsome. Daniel is a character.
I would like to share the pros and cons of this hotel, as compared to dozens of other all-inclusive resorts we have visited throughout the Caribbean since 1999. Pros: 1. The resort is very modern and beautiful. 2. The buffet (Hadar restaurant) was probably the best we have ever seen. 3. Staff throughout the resort was very kind and friendly. 4. We appreciated the adult-only section, as not all resorts have them. 5. It was easy to book Spa service and Room Service. Cons: 1. AC was not sufficiently cold in our room and in Asian restaurant. We requested a fan for the room to improve air flow, but it wasn't available. Also, no ceiling fans in open air bars and areas where DJs perform. 2. We wrote to concierge that we are coming for our anniversary and requested booking a restaurant for us ahead of our arrival. They did the booking, but there was nothing special on the day of our anniversary: neither in the restaurant nor in the room (other hotels made swans out of towels and put rose petals for us). 3. Several times, we took a Bali Bed on the beach, and the attendant would inform us that this section is reservations only. There were no signs and nobody informed us during check-in. No orientation to the hotel rules and areas either. After we observed several more couples being chased away from those beds, the beds just sat empty. Nobody knew how to reserve them. 4. The night entertainment was geared towards families with children with shows at 8 pm. Not much adult entertainment.
Everything was great. The only bad thing was the food.
Gorgeous resort with excellent customer service. Highly recommend the reserve upgrade if you’re on the adults only side.
After the Delta IT outage fiasco our originally planned trip got cancelled altogether and so we booked this place on a Tuesday night and arrived Thursday afternoon and can say we were very pleasantly impressed with our selection. The service was mostly great at the restaurants and pools. There were a few times I was trying to set up a bed by the beach or a chair by the pool when a little assistance would have been very helpful and appreciated but apart from that everyone we encountered was very friendly and accommodating. We upgraded to The Reserve and glad we did because we had a separate pool, access to the beach, and private restaurant and in general was nice to escape to when the party at the main pool got to be a little much. Our concierge Julie was wonderful. The room and the grounds were gorgeous and so well maintained and clean. Easy to get into downtown to 5th avenue too. We enjoyed walking around and people watching. Highly recommend this resort and would absolutely come back. It was lovely and relaxing and exactly what we were hoping for after a failed vacation earlier in the week.
Had to move rooms twice because the air conditioning wasn’t working in our first room. The second room had a strong smell of mold or mildew and it was making us feel nauseous. Then the third room had to have a repair due to a leak and they came in to fix it at midnight!
Service, staff, luxuries all great… the only downside was the food. I give it a 3/10, buffet option was very small compared to other all inclusive resorts. The restaurants that required reservation were like 5/10 very mediocre. The only thing I had no complaints about was the Farenheit grill/snack by the pool that was a 10/10! Also our pillows in the room had a nasty smell, like when it gets wet and dries up and can’t take that smell off!
All staff are very kind, extra great. Each restaurant are good qualities especially "SAL" , beyond and above.
Paradisus La Perla was phenomenal! The staff, first and foremost, went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The thoughts and care that went into curating this property was mind blowing. The options, the amenities, the food, the pools, the beach, the ambiance!! A rainy day there was as magical and fulfilling as a sunny day! I will definitely be back.
Beautiful property with attentive staff.
Beautiful resort. Excellent service. Staff was wonderful.
One of the best resort!
I like the rooms. Beautiful resort. I dislike the experience. Customers should know that the resort has strict times. Pool 7-7. All restraints need reservations by 4 pm. Bars and food close at 11. 1 club stays open till 1. Alcohol is not 24 hrs. Room service is slow. Lemurs join you at dinner and eat off your plate at the taco restaurant.
Everything is nice
Loved this resort. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will stay again.
Great hotel very luxurious, great restaurant and service. Highly recommend very well laid out a lot of cool places to set down. Beach was nice pools bars.
Beautiful landscape and modern touches throughout property give a wonderfully romantic vibe without being overcrowded like most resorts. That being said, there are numerous finishes that are in desperate need of repair/updating (our room door had smudges all over it, the room numbers were falling off, the baseboards in many of the local restrooms were rotted, the finishing on numerous bathroom doors was peeling away, the telephone in our room did not work, along with a lamp, etc.), and there are ZERO fans in common areas to help keep the air moving so it will feel stifling hot even once the sun goes down (we went end of June/beginning of July) and prevent you from spending too much time in those areas even if you may want to. The mosquitos are horrendous (definitely bring bug spray, not the citronella wrist bands like us, which did nothing), and be prepared to see lots of random critters that may get too close for comfort. The pool does close early (7 pm) but that never bothered us since we did not come to hang out at the pool. The bar areas are nice, and there is even a winery we didn’t discover until our last day (bummer). This would definitely be a place we return to, as long as the price is right.

Staff was courteous and super attentive. Grounds are immaculate, well kept and maintained. Food was Delicious. Plenty of activities to keep busy as well as time for quiet and relaxation. Would return in a heartbeat. Loved this resort.
