The entire staff from top to bottom was excellent. Food was delicious. Pool was a great temperature and spotless.
Opal Sands is beautiful. The service is top notch. It is my favorite place to stay in Clearwater Beach.
Right on beach, incredibly clean, great pool. Perfect for families
We loved it here -- Jonathan especially was super helpful and made us feel right at home.
Opal Sands is a VERY nice, reasonably new hotel (2016), with access to the PUBLIC beach a few steps away - keep in-mind that none of the big hotels along South Gulfview Boulevard - including the Opal Sands - have a private beach. They assess a $39.55/day Resort Fee which includes things like: a bicycle for each adult guest, in-room coffee, WiFi, water & ice, fruit & granola snacks, and access to their gym and outdoor pool & hot tub. This fee is disclosed by Expedia. Food, beverages, and other hotel services (such as the spa) of course are additional. There are no vending machines on the property. What is not disclosed: if you're driving to the property, you'll be charged $42.80/day for the car-park; there is no self-parking. With all room charges, fees, taxes and parking, we paid $576/day for a 4-night (Thursday to Monday) stay, which buys you unobstructed ocean views from every room.
safe
Lost its charm with construction of huge addition across the street. Also cold response to no late check out
very modern - clean, nice staff
Amazing Place !!!
Best hotel in Clearwater !! No doubt . . . location . . . on the beach . . . We will come back :)
Everything was great but the beach chairs are not included, for a nice price you can rent them for the day.
Beautiful location room was very very clean. I love how they had waters and little snacks out in the hallway and there’s lots to do surrounding the hotel.
yes
Loved it!!
Beautiful property. Great customer service. Only downfall was Sand Bar did not accommodate large wedding party for after party although it had been previously requested. Had to go to bar to order drinks and food.
Great view from the room balcony, great location ....
The dining option right below the hotel was amazing and saved us a big headache in terms of food! Good choice in placement!
Only thing off was the clock in my room.
A repeat location on our list
Highly suggest Opal Sands resort. Great location, good restaurants and service. The pool was very cold, only a few kids were in it - that was the only disappointment of the stay.
The hotel, restaurant, and staff were outstanding. The main pool was great. The property was immaculate. A few outside amenities were unavailable, but considering this was 4 weeks post-hurricane, totally understandable. I would highly recommend.
We will definitely return if we visit Clearwater Beach again. We loved everything about this hotel! Perfect location and the view is exceptional!
Everything was amazing
Firs class Staff are engaged in delivering a top level customer experience Bravo
Not worth the price, got overcharged for parking and not receiving any refund until three weeks later.
Hotel was immaculate and Room was amazing!
Nice
Suite!
Booked a premium gulf front king bed room and got upgraded to a suite!
This was my first time visiting Opal Sands. The resort and staff are wonderful! I will visit again. During our stay, there was a LOT of construction noise. (Jack hammers, beeping service vehicles, concrete cutting, etc). My husband and I found ourselves leaving each day to escape the construction noise which was coming from all angles. Taking an afternoon nap was definitely not an option. When all the construction is complete the resort will be absolute perfection! The heated pool was amazing also!
This place was perfect the views are great it’s like your in the ocean.food is amazing and service was impeccable.super clean and very accommodating to all needs.definitely recommend to anyone
Clean, quiet, excellent service, and beautiful ocean view
Beautiful views
The only negative is the hotel “Fees”, multiple taxes, and mandatory valet parking is an additional cost of $131.00 per day.
The staff is very friendly.
The property is absolutely beautiful. You get amazing views no matter where you are and having direct access to the beach is a huge plus. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to us. The resort was clean and provided beautiful amenities including the pool and hot tub, 24 hour gym, and many places to lay around and relax. The only thing that I would say was disappointing were the significant amount of fees a day including amenity and resort fees. There is also no other option but to use their valet services which is an additional $42.80 a day. Just be aware of the amount of fees before you book so you’re not surprised. Other than that, it felt luxurious to be here and gave us a great place to stay for our vacation
Great stay
Nice hotel though dining room and spa weren’t as high a standard as the rooms. Between all the resort fees and daily valet charge, cost really added up. Probably places as nice or nicer are available in the area
Loved the hotel Right next to/on the beach
Amazing stay!
Everyone was so sweet to me and my dog! We will be back :)
Simply amazing
Phenomenal hotel experience from start to finish
Very good service
Expensive but we made it work
Hmm it as a beautiful resort but I couldn’t get a pool chair they were all full 1 I sighed yo for the key buffet but was instead presented with the three course meal which cost over 300 for two people - the pool service including Karen and Jacob were super sweet! I’d stay away from the pool chairs near the cornhole cuz that was super loud thunk all afternoon long - I loved our room on floor 8 great view great sized balcony bedroom and bathroom but no towel or trash changes daily - that was not cool - convenient to beach and sunset festivals, shops and a wide array of restaurants - bell staff was also super nice! No concierge even though there’s a desk for one - for this caliber of a resort I would expect one! Love the free waters and fruit on every floor
Love that it was walkable to almost everything. Beach and pool were right there. Wish there was another dining option indoors that was more family friendly and not so expensive and/or a gift shop that sold more food options for grab and go. Overall, highly recommend this property!
Bad bathroom
The shower door did not open the right way so when you turn on shower Have to step inside and soaking wet before you are ready to shower ruined my nightie
Everything was excellent
Access to beach, friendly staff
the weather was amazing. great food and pool
It's true that the price of lodging seems to have increased exponentially in the past few years. Yet, for $500 a night (when you include the mandatory valet parking and resort fee and with an expedia discount on the room rate), it just seems hard to justify the price we paid, particularly given the active construction site next door (presumably part of the hotel?) where work began - on a Friday in a beach town 5 days from Christmas - at 7am, really undermining an otherwise nice view of the beach on the morning after our wedding. I will see that the walls are *very* thick for a hotel, and we heard nothing from inside. Also the complementary bathrobes were luxurious. However, I think this hotel should realistically have cost more than $300 a night with parking and resort fee, and I would have appreciated a heads up about the construction.
Love it here
Loved it all!
Absolutely beautiful
The staff has been excellent throughout our stay and the Sea Guini restaurant is outstanding. The views of the sunsets and the dolphins are extraordinary. I highly recommend the hotel.
We loved walks on the beach and sunset views from the pool.
Beautiful property, accommodating and friendly staff.
Wedding weekend
The resort itself is very nice! Although we really didn’t get the full experience since our time was consumed with a wedding. What interaction we had with staff and the facility was great. My only negative comment would be about the beds. Could not get comfortable, but that is an individual thing.
Billing issues. Made me rebook on a different card at the desk changing Expedia total from 384.00 up to 426.00 Bathroom and shower shower had hairs in it and walls were dirty in bathroom.
There is constant construction and this resort charges crazy fees. $35 for complimentary water and phone service. $40 a day for parking- no option for self parking. The valet was rude upon arrival. The construction was so loud you couldn’t hear the ocean. Road work blocking everything and the construction workers were yelling at guest. They should not be open during this or at a much cheaper rate. Do better Opal Sands- this was my only opportunity to get away to relax with my husband and I regret this stay!!!
Beautiful place. Good food and ocean views from the room are perfect.
I love the opal sands. It is beautiful, the views from the hotel rooms are exceptional, the food and drinks are awesome and they are very accommodating!
Very Nice
Beautiful resort. Amazing views.
Experience amazing
This is a tough review of one of our favorite hotels of all time. Check in was ok - they had trouble explaining the charges (they were correct, just not clear), we have always received a higher floor and we got 4th floor, no special welcome, there are cool guest pantries on each floor with water, ice, fresh fruit, cookies and snacks but sadly, we only had water and one day a bag of peanuts left. Not sure why these aren’t being attended but not even ice available. Due to hurricane, tiki bar not open and they didn’t make us aware or offer any discounts or complimentary drink at bar etc. the pool area was wonderful and service and staff there outstanding. This review is based on room being over $500/night so high expectations. Just ok stay overall mainly with lack of communication and not servicing some of the cool unique things they advertise.
Bbhh
This is a beautiful property.
Good 5 🌟
Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater never disappoints. The breathtaking views of the Gulf are unmatched, making every moment feel like a retreat. Even with recent challenges from Hurricane Milton, the resort maintained its exceptional standards. The staff, led by Manager Georgi, provided outstanding service, ensuring we felt welcomed and well cared for throughout our stay. I can’t wait to return and experience this beautiful destination again.
Exceptional experience post Hurricane Milton
Outstanding experience from a resort just rebounding from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. We intentionally stayed there while in town to support their business and efforts to ramp up staffing as so many in the area were impacted from the storms.
Staff was not friendly in thr bar area when asking us to move. Additionally, customer service desk made us wait significantly to get our room. In return, they gave us extra time to check out, but next day when we were on our way to get our luggage, the room was already locked and we couldnt get in. We had to go downstairs again and asked for help. The new person that was there mentioned that we were not allowed to stay longer (even though we were offered that option since we waited for almost an hour to get our room).
Very nice place
For the cost and what was expected of the facility it did not meet any of my expectations outside of the view. The room was average and what we paid to stay there weren’t many amenities at all
Excellent experience
Awesome property. Loved the pool and great views of the Gulf
I like its decoration. However, it is very expensive
The property was beautiful and the 2 restaurants on site are great. The service at the restaurants and at the bar was excellent. Our room had a beautiful view. I am very picky about hotels so I have a few comments…the coffee machine in the room is for espresso only. There was no American coffee, cream or sugar. The Sandbar had some flooding due to the rain. I tried to extend the checkout an hour or two because I wasn’t feeling well, but the hotel could not accommodate that. The beach is not part of the hotel. You can’t take drinks out there. I would still recommend the hotel. You can walk to the Pier which is nice.
An okay place but expected more for the price. Paid $1,300 for 3 nights & you would think everything would be included but no theres a fee for literally everything. The staff wasnt very friendly either which was disappointing. The bartenders at the sand bar were amazing though!! We ended up having to leave early due to unforeseen circumstances. We had already paid for the room that night & i got charged almost $400 for an early departure fee which is absolutely ridiculous. I have never in my life heard of that. Will not be returning
Great place with nice staff!
Excellent!!
Great getaway, loved the property and amenities
Loved this stay it was 5 star the attention to detail was impeccable
Liked everything
Beautiful decor
The property was excellent, the view was great right on the beach, the service is what sells it
Great place. Telephones and TV remotes are old and don’t work. But otherwise no complaints.
Beautiful resort
We had a great time last week. The facilities were clean snd the dinner we had in the lobby restaurant was the best meal we had all of vacation. One thing I will share...There was a quirky thing about the room...if you have the door open, the AC shuts off completely. The door wasn't latched properly so it shut off the AC at bedtime. My boyfriend went down to the desk because of it. Otherwise, great place!
Stunning ocean front rooms view's, amazing food choices, clean facilities, and superb staff. Great choice for your Clearwater Beach stay
Great view from the room, spacious room, friendly staff. The only drawback is that there is valid parking the one you need to pay for; and the swimming pool is small. Great location- beach right near the hotel, walkable distance from Pier 60, restaurants, boardwalk entertainment .
Great hotel for clearwater, the tiki bar was fantastic
Very clean. Staff was exceptionally nice. Beautiful resort. Pet friendly. I highly recommend it.
it was not as good as few years ago
Well let me start this by saying the sights here are breathtaking. There is a Resort remodel going on as I hope this doesn’t change the access of the pools but adds more options for guests on swim rec and dining. The room was clean although the toilet had a weird flush. Also they could have supplied extra TP and Kleenex accessible in the pantry for guest so we wouldn’t have to text room service. As for the amenities the breakfast could also have oats and cereal yogurts available in the pantry with the cost of the Resort. That’s not much juice milk would also be included… additionally the room was beautiful clean the only thing that needed improvement was the pillows they felt basic not luxurious… other than that we love the wrist bands and the seaside bars. The pool is a fabulous view for sunset. The employees were very helpful and quick to service which was nice I felt safe and comfortable. I wish on the first floor there was an accessible water / ice machine to fill up my cup before exploring CW.
I will come back and stay here when I’m in Clearwater. The property is great and so is the service. Has all the amenities you could need. Direct beach access and great pool area. The views are amazing. But the customer service was great. I can’t wait to head back
Wonderful place to be. From valley parking attendants to a room delivery, everyone is helpful, accommodating and courteous. Food and drinks are very tasty. The only thing that is slightly annoying is that I side your room you can hear your neighbors steps, sneezing, door closing. However, past this, the Opal is an amazing destination and I sure will be back.
Great weekend getaway.
The views 11th floor room every room has a sunset view
THIS IS A MUST FIR COUPLES! EXCELLENT DINJNG EXPERIENCE
It's beautiful and has everything you need to relax. Walkable to many stores, restaurants and attractions.
You just have to go for it!
The view was amazing! So worth it! Close to walkable places to eat. We had the pool and the beach. The amenities were superb! Kids loved the free ice cream at the pool from 2-3!
Beautiful property with the best views of Clearwater beach and closest to the water!!
We had the absolute best experience!!! This was our first time to Clearwater and we are definitely coming back next year! Fantastic rooms, clean and great smell, perfectly working air conditioning and the best of all., with a stunning Gulfview, restaurant with breathtaking views, tasty food and flavorful cocktails and beautiful beach. The staff was awesome! Very clean facilities. Would definitely go back.
It was beautiful.
