Great for budget!
It's a very nice room on a lovely lake. It's also right on the very busy Dixie highway. Overall a nice place to stay
This place is awful. Old. Smells like chemicals. Dingy. Creepy.
I was somewhat unimpressed with the motel other than the drive to the music venue. The bed was small and cramped, the bathroom smelled, the water pressure wasn’t great and it felt very dungey in the room. Perhaps a river view would have made it better.
Lovely plac
We LOVED this cute little property. We were on the river side. I sat in their porch swing and listened to ducks and trains and watched fireflies. We will stay here again!
Na
Quaint
Very quaint, but you need to bring your own bedding (theres was very scratchy and smelly) I’d also bring your own pillows and maybe some air fresheners 😷
Nice to stay at a smaller place that is on the water and has kayaks and paddle boats to use, with seating under a covered porch over looking the water.
Had a great time with our Five year old and our short little one night adventure. We had so much fun fishing off the dock and rooms were so clean and welcoming. Great little place!
Enjoyed the lakefront seating on the backside of this lodging.
Don't let the checking in process scare you off. this is a gem, yes you have to trust me. but the rooms are very clean, and "woodsy", full kitchen, large bath. and when you open the back door you are on a dock on the lake. great if you like to fish. must get water side rooms.
It was nice
Room with a view
Awesome room with view of water.
Room with a view
Awesome room with view of water.
We really enjoyed out stay, very relaxing for sure. It's has an up north feel to it. Has a down home feel to it, older but maintained,.. not high-end buy very comfortable. we will be back.
Had fun fishing, caught Bass, a pike, and a cat fish, walked to sportsman’s Bar and ate, friendly people, clean room overlooking lake. Thanks!!
The room was nice. Showing some age but still clean and well supplied with furniture and small kitchenette. Only bac thing was the parking lot is small. So don't go there with any kind of trailer or anything larger than a pickup truck if you plan to park near your room.
Hidden Gem! Went here for a girls trip and its such a fun place. Will return!
Fun little gem
Great little gem. Fun room on water. Needs room darkening shades on windows, new mattress and a few more blankets and pillows
The lake is so peaceful and the employees are very helpful
Lakeside room was comfortable with an option to swim in summertime.
Beds uncomfortable, heat blew excessive air right by the bed, limited privacy
Nice
Up North cabin feel with cool wood deck overlooking the mill pond.
Great Stay!
The room was very clean and smelled good. I love staying at this place when I visit Clarkson. Everyone is friendly and the ladies cleaning. The rooms were wonderful. The bed hurt my back a bit in room 16. But overall this is a great place. They have a kitchenette. It is helpful to have when you bring food back to the room. Several rooms are on the end of that little lake. And I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family!
Very nice people very clean and comfortable
Awesome Inn! Highly recommend it!
This is a great little place! The people in the office were very helpful. The rooms were clean. The little lake outback is beautiful. It’s so peaceful to sit out there and have dinner or just relax with a cup of coffee in the morning. I highly recommend this INN. You can kayak if you would like. It’s close to some restaurants. A lot of the rooms have a fridge and a stove so you can bring your own food or make some thing. The rooms are decorated very cute. They look almost like you’re in a lodge or a log cabin. The theme is definitely inviting.
Great place to stay!
Nice rooms with a cabin like feel. Cute lake out back. You can kayak or fish. It’s a small place but I like the area. There are some good mom and Pop restaurants nearby. Great price! I would definitely stay again. It’s clean in here. There’s a little kitchen with a microwave and a fridge.
Peaceful Lakeside Getaway
Our stay was amazing! The staff are very friendly. The location of being on the lake is sooo perfect. There was so much wildlife to see and enjoy time with. The locals are very kind and love to spend time with you on the open back porch. Fishing off the back porch was so fun. Our hotel room was very cozy. The only complaints I have was that there wasn’t any hand soap in the bathroom.
Very quaint and clean!
Nice little place on the water with low price. Close to pine knob.... 5.5 miles
I liked the location with the Lake And A covered deck. Out the back door of my unit.
The manager and staff couldn’t be any nicer!!!
Great deck out back, rooms were remodeled and clean. Old style Ma and Pa motel experience. We enjoy anything that isn’t just another chain hotel.
Make sure everything works first
Cute place. Quaint. Friendly staff. However, one of the two double beds was so squeaky and uncomfortable, we had to share the other - which was a better mattress but worn in, so we fell in toward the middle together. No real blanket to speak of. The biggest disappointment was that we discovered in the morning that our shower didn't work - and no one was in the office until 9am, well after we had to be on our way. We chose to stay in order to be close to a venue and to be able to shower/change - the showering didn't happen. A later conversation with management was nice - he was supportive and promises to give a partial refund - but that didn't change what happened, and the refund hasn't happened yet.
They had kayaks that they let people use that stay there and it’s very nice. They’re very clean very friendly people and it’s nice to wake up and have a cuppa coffee and sit on the patio and see the lake.
The lake view!
Miniblinds didn't get the room dark enough and not very private. Tried to charge me again when I had already paid on line. Water smelled like sulphur, surprised it wasn't city water. Otherwise adequate.
The property was close to venue which was great! The room smelled of cigarettes which was quite unpleasant. The sheets and towels smelled of fabric softener which is not good for people who are sensitive to smells. The back porch, which faces the lake, and all of the water amenities was a real gem! We used the paddle boat in the morning and it was lovely! The room could use some sprucing up and the bathroom mold could be scoured a bit more. Would recommend due to the lake front!
Friendly greeting and welcome.
To be fair to this facility, I’m a Hilton/Marriott snob. Those options don’t exist here. It’s a cute place, but my room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. I photographed evidence of a past bedbug problem. They use all white sheets and there was bedbug poop stains in a small area of the otherwise very clean sheets. I was here for two nights and woke up each morning with bad sinus issues. It could have been caused the air conditioner unit’s poor air quality. I realize you get what you pay for. If you aren’t accustomed to high class accommodations, this place would be great, but it’s just not something I’m used to. If I return to this area, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if Hilton or Marriott haven’t yet built a place.
If I could have found accommodation elsewhere I would have
This is a quirky little place and I like it for the most part. It was also close to where I needed to be for a family emergency. It had a kitchenette with a coffee maker, but no coffee, no drinking glasses, no spoons, one small cooking pot, no ice-trays. There was a sink, but no soap or sponge tor towels to clean up. Not even a can opener. There were no-smoking signs everywhere, but, by the smell, it hadn't been so long that smokers had been in there. I loved the deck over-looking the lake and my "neighbors" were very nice. But most of them were smokers and I don't want to be around it. One evening, on returning to me room, I wanted to open the blinds and enjoy the lake, but here was a man right outside the window fishing off the deck. I do not know whether he was a guest, but if so, why was he outside my room? Overall, I liked the place and the people, but if I stayed again, i would know to bring a lot more stuff.
Beautiful view and the deck was great. Toilet started leaking but put a towel down and dealt with it
Our stay was very nice. I love the rustic Northern look and the Upnorth feel. Very clean and cozy.
Nice quiet place to stay
Great place to stay for local concerts nearby
I rarely want to spend time at my room on vacation, but that was not the case at the old mill.
Amazing place to stay. Feels like up north but only an hour from home. Kayak out to the sandbar in the middle of the lake and make sure to bring a volley ball bc there’s a net out there! Transportation to and from DTE concert. Great food right next door. MERICA!
