awesome place.
Great place. Clear glass bathroom lacks privacy, but the place is so awesome. Great restaurants etc nearby
The service was five star. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Even the cleaners in the hallways greet you with a smile and when you check in, they give you extra gifts and small items for convenience for free. They also give you a welcome tea as well there are so many sites you can visit walking distance. Also, the metro is nearby with lots of restaurants all walking distance.
Everything is great about this hotel. The WiFi may need improvement.
Great quiet Beijing hotel
Great location, great neighborhood, clean comfortable rooms, great service
The hotel was situated in the Gulou area of the city, which is perfect for small shops and cool hangouts. It's a little difficult to find (maybe some extra signage would help travelers), but has a cool courtyard with bars and coffeeshops right outside. Theme of the hotel is "nostalgia" so you'll find old toys and vintage candies throughout. Also, important for fellow travelers who may have these questions: - convenience store on the corner with very cheap water, soda, snacks - attentive staff with excellent language translation software to assist if needed - few blocks from the Andingmen and Yonghe Temple subway stations
Very comfortable and situated in a courtyard with interesting bars and cafes. A little difficult to find at first but staff made themselves available through WeChat to help us locate the hotel.
Nice location and great staff for a fair price
Great location at a decent price, embedded into a small set of bars and a microbrewery (and still quiet!) and based near a lot of sites and shopping opportunities. A friendly and helpful staff which speak English (either directly or by app). Can recommend for solo travelers. The rooms are small, have an AC and are great value. Would book again.
Great place to experience a real neighbourhood
Only challenge was flaky WiFi, staff are great location is practical and friendly in a real Houton neighbourhood.
Very friendly staff and great location!
Nice place, but some noise
This place is a little hard to find (it took me 10 minutes of wandering until I finally saw it), but the stay there was pleasant. One thing that was a little annoying was the noise from other rooms or nearby places. After nightfall we could hear the sounds and conversations of other people's social gatherings almost as if they were right under our window (they might have been, but we couldn't see). It made it difficult to get to sleep at night even with the window closed. Other than that the hotel staff were nice and tried to be very helpful. In fact, I wanted to order pizza delivered to our room but couldn't because I don't have the ability to pay online with my foreign credit card. One of the hotel staff ordered it for me with her online account and only asked that I give her the equivalent cash when it was delivered. We did the whole process together so I could see she didn't profit from doing it that way. Very helpful.
Overall a nice place but communication is an issue
The people at the front desk are extremely nice and helpful, but their English is very poor, so communication is a challenge, so be aware that you will need some kind of translator device. Also, there is a bar right in front of the hotel, so it is very noisy at night time. If you want to get a good night of sleep, make sure to request a room on the backside of the hotel. The breakfast (not included) is fairly decent and the toiletries (included) very nice.
Perfect location. Extremely clean.Lovely staff.
Perfect location. A short walk from 2 subways (Andingmen and Yonghegong) depending from which end of Hutong you emerge. Interesting streets at both ends of Hutong. Near Lama Temple. Scrupulously clean. Towels changed every day and even changed our curtains one day!
Crystal toilet walls
Best shower ever! Crystal walls in the bathroom though with a translucent shade, take that into account when booking. We had no problem but if you are not used to see/be seen while in the toilet, then it's not your toilet. Reception stuff speaks very limited English but they are always willing to help.
Nice hotel close to many tourist attractions.
This hotel was in an excellent location, close to many tourist attractions but in a quiet and peaceful location. Our stay was very relaxing. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating to our requirements.
A great Hotel in a great location, we will return when we are able.
Loved the decor, friendly staff and breakfasts. Room was small but very comfortable.
Delightful place to stay in Beijing
Everyone was super helpful. I stayed twice during my visit to China once business and once for pleasure. When I arrived on the second visit at 2pm - the hotel staff welcomed me with a cup of oat milk. At every point they went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Stay here
Good service. Cozy rooms that had nightlife below
The staff at the hotel were great, and either spoke English, or made wonderful attempts to get over the language barrier. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor. Cigarette smoke wafted in one night, and the bar under our room was quite noisy on a couple of nights. The rooms were small so I needed to arrange for 2 for our family of 4. There was some confusion about there being more than one Nostalgia hotel in Beijing, so we accidently booked the wrong hotel when trying to arrange accomodation with friends.
Best hotel hands down
It is in the hutong so it might not be the easiest place to find. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was greeted warmly and they helped me with my luggages. They also offered me a hot malt beverage because it was winter time. The deco was awesome and they play 80s chinese songs in the lobby. Room was a little small for two person but it was very clean and I think it was good deal for the bucks. Everything in the room was free, including two yougurt drinks, two bottles of mineral waters, chinese hand cream and toiletries. They offer razors, power convertors and many others upon request. The customer service was excellent and I enjoyed my stay there. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to enjoy nostalgic chinese experience.
Hip Hutong. Great location. Nice coffee, beer, street food right nearby.
Good location and friendly staff. The room is a bit small.
Great and impressive stay
Great place to stay solo and with family. Very clean room. All the staff are warm and nice. It close to subway line 2 and line 5, Lama Temple, 南锣鼓巷, 后海。 All decos brought me back to my childhood, on which, everything was warm and friendly.
Great Hotel
Great hotel. Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and very nice. I would stay here again and recommend to others. It is close to several metro stops and some great restaurants. Very good place to stay if you want to explore Beijing.
A hotel I'd use any time in Beijing
Great little hotel, but warning, cars can have difficulty getting through the hutong, so try and arrive in day time as it can be dark and hard to find at night. Worth it though as the rooms are small but spotless with all essentials and very helpful staff.
Staff was great and helpful with any questions. Staff also spoke sufficient English for visitors who couldn't speak Chinese. Room was kept very clean daily. Rooms are small (we stayed in a double room) but comfortable and a great value. A bit of a walk to the nearest subway stop. Overall very happy with my stay and the value of property.
Clean room & Great Service
We loved our stay here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They reserved a taxi to take us to the airport early in the morning. I forgot my phone at the reception area and the staff found it and returned it to me. The room is small and clean, but this was a good deal for Beijing in the Hutong area. Even with 2 big check-in bags and 1 hand carry-on bag, we still had enough room to walk.
Murals in each room
The neighborhood was very interesting in that it was hidden down an alley. I do not know how I would find it on my own, but drivers had no problem with it. There are western restaurants in the same alley which was a good thing. The people that stay there make it feel like a hostile, (young and eclectic crowd) but the hotel services your room.
Best experience ever! Love everything in this hotel!
I've stayed at this Nostalgia Inn before and enjoyed this time as much as times past. Great service and location. We did have a problem with housekeeping one day. But it was quickly taken care of by the staff. Very satisfied.
Nice hotel with 80s feel
It's a good experience. Extremely hospitable and professional staff. Great location. Walking distance to Yonghe Lama Temple and metro stations. Very good.
Hidden gem in a quaint neighbourhood!
Staff have been amazingly helpful and friendly. 10/10 for service and making our stay extremely comfortable. Room is clean, bed is comfy. Toilet is nice to bathe in. The hotel is located in a quaint neighbourhood with lots of hipster hangout places. The only only thing that I will have to pick on is the slightly dusty/sandy floor and the lack of a safety deposit box.
Lovely, quirky hotel on a hutong
This hotel is an excellent choice for those who want to experience life in Beijing's old quarters as well as explore the sights as it is centrally situated on a hutong (alleyway), close to bars, cafes and shops and within easy reach of the Lama Temple and the metro. Rooms are quite small, as you would expect in this area, but very clean and perfectly comfortable. There is a fairly basic but cheap breakfast. The hotel has a quirky, individualistic style, filled with memorabilia. Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, from cleaners to managers. There is not much English spoken but we always got by with the help of a translation app and good old sign language.
Great location, cold staff
The hotel is in a very nice location and it's easy to spend a couple of days just exploring places nearby. It's a VERY walkable neighborhood. Unfortunately, the staff comes across as being rather cold and distant. I suspect that it may be partly their very limited ability to speak anything but Chinese. Yes, this is China, but almost every hotel I've stayed in has English speaking people out front. The room I had was small, and unfortunately looked out at a dirty wall I could reach out and touch. I believe it was the outside wall to the elevator shaft. When I asked to be moved to another room, they apologized and finally were able to communicate that they had given the room I had booked to someone else who arrived earlier. Of course, this makes no sense. Even if I had arrived at 4am (I arrived around 9pm) they should have kept the room I paid for empty and waiting. I really wish I could offer a more positive review of this hotel. If you're feeling lucky and want to roll the dice, you might end up having a pleasant stay. But there seem to be a number of other hotels in the same general location. I'll try one of those next time.
Great location hotel on a budget for a short stay
We stayed here for nights in April. our initial room we were given was extremely shabby so we asked for an alternative which we were given and looked a little less shabby. The main plus points are; * great location in the hutongs of Beijing * comfy clean bed with great pillows * good hot shower The negatives *literally no storage space. not a single drawer, shelf or wardrobe - just some hooks on the wall and 4 coat hangers. * glass encased bathroom- we're a married couple but even with the blind down its not pleasant still being able to see your other half using the loo * power cut problems - happened twice for us. once it was out for 2 hours. we desperately wanted showers after our trip to the great Wall. the 2nd time was at 5am trying to get ready to go to the airport. this time lasted about 5 minutes. Would we stay again - yes... but for a max of 2 nights
A great place to stay
I enjoyed the location in the back alleys of the Hutong. The English of some staff was limited but they made a real effort to help you. The room was small but adequate. The bed was comfortable and the room was well serviced.
Worth the price. Extremely warm services and clean room.
Great services and very friendly-staffs. I like the location a lot. My stay there was great and will definitely go back again in the future. The minor issues would be that the hotel is not easy to find and the heat temperature inside the room could be higher (feeling a bit not warm at nights).
Convenient and Affordable with a Fresh Style
We've stayed at Nostalgia twice now. It's situated right in the middle of the historic hutong area of Beijing, within easy walking distance to two subway stations, and close to interesting sites such as the Yonghe Lama Temple, Guozijian, and Temple of Earth. The staff are friendly and courteous, their breakfast is quick and affordable (at 20 yuan each--you can get it cheaper on the street, but for convenience it's a nice option), and the decor is charming and quirky. We look forward to going back!
Quirky, characterful and fun, great bars nearby.
Quirky hotel, characterful hutong neighborhood, great bars and lots of local restaurants nearby. Close to Lama and Confucious temple. Friendly staff. Room was fine for a 3*.
Feel the hutong
Nice place, very good location. Poor coffee.
Lovely hotel in the heart of Beijing's hutongs
Located in Fanjia Hutong between Andingmen, Yonghegong Lama Temple and Gulou; this is a wonderful hotel. Lots of good places to eat all around the hotel, bars and a real feel of authentic Beijing life. Very clean, staff all very helpful and friendly (they can mostly speak good English, which is helpful). Sanlitun is a short taxi drive away costing around 20RMB. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I return to Beijing.
True oasis in an otherwise busy and POLLUTED city
Pleasant in all respect, though the Wifi was way too slow in the evening, making it impossible to use my usual applications and especially FaceTime
An interesting neighbourhood and decent room however it is a little rundown place.
Lovely, quirky hotel :)
Excellent Hotel. Very quirky and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Great area, with lovely little bars and restaurants around too!
Great hotel, excellent location for getting around
Located in the hutongs between 2 subways this hotel is great for getting around Beijing easily. From the airport get the subway to yongechong lama temple temple and take exit c turn left out of here and walk down the road, cross over at confuscus temple and keep down the same road. Fangia hutong is on the right a short way down. The hotel is quite a walk up there and the entrance is after a library type bar on the right. The bar owners around there will help if you can't find it, it's through some large gates. The hotel staff speak a little English but the manager is very helpful. The breakfasts are good value for £2, they have toast, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and Chinese. Explore the area there are some great sights! The rooms are quite small but very clean and well stocked with water and toiletries. The towels are very soft and the bed linen excellent. I would definitely stay there again.
Outside looks bad. Room very good
Wanted to leave when first arrived. Walk down old small street to get there. Outside and lobby very old feel. Room very nice and clean. Very modern feel but a little small. Feels like 1955. Close to subway. Nice restaurant next door, tablecloths and good food. Breakfast simple but good at 20 yen. Would stay there again.
Nice little theme hotel
The hotel is a theme hotel that is designed for Chinese travelers. The condition is pretty good and would fit for most travelers. The design of the toilet is a bit odd. There is no cover for the shower as there is only a glass panel. The shower and the washing basin also share the same floor. So, it might get a little wet at times. Otherwise, it is a nice, clean and quiet.
Very nice zone in a Huton
Very nice zone in a Huton, The forbidden city is 15 minutes taxi, this Huton surrounded by small nice restaurants
Beijing Hipster Hotel
Was a little difficult to find the first day but loved it once we found it. It is like a Chinese hipster hotel in an awesome Hutong neighborhood,5 to 10 minute walk from the subway. Everything in the hotel was very clean. Staff spoke limited English but was still very helpful. I recommended this hotel to other travelers who want a nice hotel for a great price.
Nostalgic but tiny
I stayed there for the second time which means I must like it for some reason but what I don't like is that rooms are really small. The shower and the toilet for example are in one place which means the toilet seat is wet after taking a shower. So if your interest is to stay in an authentic Chinese neighborhood with many opportunities around this hotel is a great choice. If you value some extra comfort like space, a gym, a taxi pick up/drop off or other amenities you may find much better for little more money.
Nice place for traveler!
你只要不期待高档酒店式的服务的话,这是一个很好的地方。房间不大,但是很舒服。 唯一的缺点就是卫生间和浴室的设计不合理。因为没有浴帘,冲个澡会弄湿整个卫生间。
Chunese Hutong Atmosphere with Comfort
Well it is a great place if you wanna be in the center of nightlife or close to subway and businesses. It us in the center but very very quiet without any big streets close. On the other hand dont expect a five star or real four star. It is the atmosphere which makes this hotel worth a try.
Nice hotel and location
First the staff could highly improve their English skills. Next, the location on expedia is incorrect, so that causes big issues. The hotel is nice once you find it and the location is good.
Clean, comfortable, convenient
I stay here 8 days 7 nights. Room is clean. Convenient for me. If I come Beijing again , I will stay here again.
Authentic beijing experince with local vibe
Good: - staffs are frienly, knowledgable and speaks english reasonably well - very artsy vibe with modern chinese flavor. Recently renovated - clean room - good breakfast buffet for 20rmb (3 bucks) - eye opening experince of seeing how locals live in hutong - 5-10 min walk to subway line 5 - in central beijing. Houhai quick taxi ride away (only 14rmb) Bad: - my driver without gps had trouble finding it
Unique hotel in art quarter
Very nice hotel setting in the middle of Hutong. 10mins walk to tube. For non smoker, make sure you inform the staff.
Lovely team, perfect location, small room
Service was excellent -everyone was very friendly and appt to help! The location is fantastic, inside a trendy lively hutong close to other pretty hutongs, yummy food and to the Lama Temple and Confucius Temple. The lobby is nicely decorated and the staff uniform very stylish too, which is also nice. The room itself is comfortable and nice albeit a bit small with very few storage, and can be a bit noisy as it is not well isolated. The bathroom, squeaky clean!, is a Chinese style one -shower, toilet and sink all in the same glass-walled room! Not a problem for us but something to be aware of. The WiFi is a bit annoying as it can be a bit slow and requires a Chinese phone number to connect - but the staff will be happy to help. Definitely recommend it to explore and enjoy Beijing !
前台服務很好,很不錯的住宿體驗,雖然離地鐵站有段距離,走在胡同裡可以看看當地人的生活
前服務態度好,

Everything was great and unique
