Swim out rooms are great

Wonderful stay. The swim out rooms are ideal. Stayed in a studio room, while small is perfect for a single or couple. Highly recommend the hotel.

Great place to stay!

It was a lovely and clean place to stay! Definitely would stay here again. The room size was a bit small so we struggled without a lot of storage space for cases but the parking was good and under cover. The products they gave you were great quality and we really enjoyed to spa bath on the balcony.

Room was in need of update- particularly bathroom . Spa was so noisy that it was alarming. Two Nespresso capsules supplied with advice that additional could be bought from reception. Overall it would have been acceptable at half the price of $424 per night.

This property is looking dated and in need of a facelift

This was our first time to Port Douglas and we absolutely loved our visit. However, the accommodation was disappointing. Our room smelt very strongly of damp, which I assume is from people coming into the room wet making the carpet wet. Also, the condition of the room wasn’t what we would normally expect from a hotel. For example, the carpet in one of the corners was ripped up and there were quite a lot of large scrapes and marks on the walls. Note as well that you have to take your own rubbish out to the bins and your towels do not get changed if you are staying for a few days. We were unsure if this was typical of hotels in Port Douglas or not, but we haven’t experienced that at a hotel before. Apart from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Port Douglas is a wonderful place! The hotel was very well located near to shops and restaurants, but it was very quiet at night time. We used the hotel parking which was very easy to use. We would definitely visit Port Douglas again, but we would not stay at this hotel!

This place is a good location leave the car in their car park and walk to shops and restaurants our only problem was my husband is a smoker we had a balcony room but there was no smoking even out on the balcony I wish we had of known this as I would have booked different accommodation

The. Property. Was. Very well appointed and convenient to the centre of Port Douglas.

Relaxation Plus!

Our spa room on the second floor overlooked one of the four swimming pools. Although the room itself was compact with little space for luggage, the large balcony with outdoor spa, table and chairs provided a sense of space. The large bathroom provided a walk-in shower, toilet and wide wash basin and cabinet. The kitchenette was equipped with a microwave, expresso machine, toaster and kettle plus glassware, china and cutlery for 2 people. The room was easily accessible by lift from the basement carpark. The location of the hotel is within easy walking of the beach, shops and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Unfortunately we had noisy drunk neighbours. One night I had very little sleep as neighbour was banging on his door till all hours of the morning. I believe this issue should have been addressed by security.

Was disappointed to find the rooms are not serviced daily. We stayed 3 nights. The check in flyer advised they provided free tea, coffee and bathroom supplies. However on the 3rd and final night we asked for another coffee and were told no. We have to buy a packet of 10. We were provided 2 coffees for 3 nights stay. The receptionist was unnecessarily rude about it. Spa baths are good. Nice pool area. Lots of rules to read, seems like they get alot of party groups.

We have stayed here a few times , seems dated and a little aged of late , Standards have dropped, and forget about contacting them at anytime by phone . Great location, great pool , rooms are great , just needs a bit more maintenance and better cleaning.

Hotel cancelled my stay and won’t give me a refund

Location was perfect. However the accommodation itself was musty and not well maintained. The shutters were broken and the room smelly. We had to access our own clean towels although I do believe if we paid extra the rooms would be serviced. Never saw any staff except at reception..these staff were friendly and polite.

We loved our west & would definitely stay again. Pool area looked a little tired.

A lovely hotel in a great location. Worth a visit to Port Douglas and this beautiful hotel.

Amazing hotel I couldn’t say anything bad about it. Friendly staff lovely rooms and nice Pools.

The property was spacious and had everything you needed. It was a 2 minute walk to the main strip and a couple of minutes to the beach. It was quiet and staff were so friendly.

Stayed in the swim out apartment. Great space and utilities , outdated decor but not an issue, clean but there is a smell from chlorine when entering room but again didn’t bother us get used to it and open windows it’s fine , relaxing and quiet peaceful, friendly staff and great location so close to the Main Street , would definitely go back

Nice loaction but hotel has seen better days

The hotel is perfectly located but spend a bit extra to stay somewhere more modern and looked after. Bathroom was full of black mould and the ceiling fan barely moved. Rooms are not serviced and only two coffee pods were provided for a 4 night stay. When I asked for more at reception the advised we had to pay for them. Pool is run down and one of the filter covers broke as I walked over it. Pool is not heated and too cold in the winter months; nobody was using it. There was a spa on the balcony but all balconies need to be clear by 10pm. This place would have been nice in the early 00's but there are so many better places to stay in Port Douglas for a bit more than the $350 we paid here.

Friendly staff, room had been painted since we were here last year. Looked nice and refreshed. Proximity to Macrosson Street and pubs and restaurants. Didn't like the noise in the middle of the night from the Night Owl shop who liked to slam shut the large bin lid multiple times every night. Had to buy ear plugs.

After hours access into the hotel can be tricky

Good location. Property dated and noisy due to interconnecting rooms and shutters instead of curtains meant light came into the room all night from somewhere (possibly reception).

We liked that it was close to Main Street staff where very nice and helpful. My only complaint was it was a little dated but still had everything you might need for your stay.

As a cairns couple, the quick drive up the coast for a long weekend was great. The property had everything you need and walking distance from all the main attractions of Port Douglas. The staff were friendly, room clean and the pools either side private heaps of space to enjoy.

Great location! However, we would expect the room to be a little better for the price we were paying. For instance, we found it unusual that the cutlery and glasses etc were just on the bottom of the cupboard under the sink rather than in a drawer of their own.

Very underwhelmed with this hotel. Pictures are deceiving and certainly not what was expected for a 4star hotel. Only positive was the location.

Great location and handy to have the kitchen available. Very noisy of an evening with people on the street due to not having adequate windows. Also a shame to have to pay additional for room servicing and towels.

Would be great if the balcony spas had more privacy. Staff were lovely and the room was clean.

The pubic hairs in the bathroom were disgusting. The stains all over the tiny little bedspread were appalling. The lounge was terribly uncomfortable. The spa had not been cleaned.

Love this place!

Second trip here, we absolutely love Mantra Aqueous. It’s the perfect place to stay in Port Douglas- so close to the Main Street so everything is a few minutes walk away but you can also relax in the unit in the spa on your deck or one of the many pools

Swim up on all ground floor rooms was great as well as spas on verandah, rooms for linger stays were well appointed with everything you need for cooking. WiFi was free but not secure. You also had to pay extra to get room cleaned ie linen change, clean towels were available. The pool areas do act as a bit of a sound bowl so if kids are in the pool it can get quite noisy. Staff were excellent, polite and helpfull. Being just back from main street very handy to pubs restaurants and shopping. There is a great cheap local shuttle service around Port Douglas making places easy to get to. Overall a nice place to stay.

Had a great holiday staying at the Mantra Aqueous. The apartment was very spacious with great facilities. Our room had the pool accessible from our balcony. Made my morning swim very easy. Also found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Considering another stay next year.

Swim out room was amazing!

We stayed in a one bedroom unit, which had an adjoining lounge room. The sofa bed was made up for our daughter. Everything was spotlessly clean and the apartment was very well equipped. The swim out room was beyond amazing and the pool was particularly clean. Our daughter spent hours swimming, whilst we were able to watch from the private pool side area. The private spa on our patio was also a hit! The property was very well located, being walking distance from shops and restaurants in Port Douglas.

Five day break

Great five day getaway, didn’t start the car after we arrived as everything was within walking distance, fantastic swim out apartment, the bed was a little uncomfortable but we saw passed that and would stay again

Dianne was an amazing host at reception. We loved the hand written card and lovely communication. Room and swim out were lovely and close to all the Main Street attractions and beach. We stayed at Mantra Aqueous for our honeymoon in Port Douglas and it was a lovely stay. The property is clean and well looked after however it is very dated and old. I found that Port Douglas itself is quite dated. The hotel does not offer free room service (but at a cost of $18 per day) and they do not refresh your towels, linen or replenish your shampoos, body wash etc. Staff are really friendly and lovely and it was an overall nice stay.

Good clean hotel within easy walking distance of the main street and eateries. As a bonus it has its pool beside many of the units. Highly recommend.

Just returned from a 5 night stay room was great very close to Macrossan street for all the bars and restaurants staff easy to chat too and helpful in reception. Would stay here again.

First impressions are very important reception when checked in was very poor on checking out was much better as it was the general manager- a smile doesn’t cost anything customers checking in don’t want to be standing waiting while staff are to busy talking to each other! a friendly smile & I’ll be with you in a moment Sir -Just acknowledgment. I’m on holidays I don’t need rudeness I choose to stay at this resort I could have chosen to stay somewhere else! Next time I might. Rather disappointing as for the room, Bit tired Garden was full of weeds, something I’d noticed probably because that’s my profession. I guess the first contact was the biggest letdown I’ve spent the last 15min giving you my feed back weather you take it onboard is up to you but as I’ve said first impressions are everything cheers Shane

Fantastic location, lovely and clean. Only downside was I wish we could have stayed longer!

Loved being able to step directly from our room into the pool, and loved the brilliant central location.

This was an excellent choice of accommodation great pool friendly staff great service and clean close to everything shopping and dining would definitely go back .

The apartment was excellent. It was clean, all fans and air-cons worked noiselessly. All facilities were good: toaster, jug, washing machine, dryer and stove. We were delighted with them all. We would happily stay there again.

4 huge pools, spacious apartments, fantastic staff. Negative that apartments are individually owned so not uniform furnishings. Ensure you request 2 full lounges in the 1 bedders otherwise the seating can be sparse and uncomfortable.

Marvellous Mantra

Wow !!! From the warm welcome when I walked I the door by a super happy reception so to being able to check in early Mantra Aqueous ticked all the boxes. Super delighted to find out that a 2 bedroom apartment was actually dual keyed with a one bedroom apartment and studio so we had two pool access rooms two spas bathrooms and kitchens !! The swim out rooms were simply fantastic so easy that we seriously spent most of our days in the pool or beside it. Well set up and large spacious living area in the one bedroom side. Literally in the Main Street and super central to everything we loved everything about this Mantra. Spotlessly clean and neat tidy gardens easy accessible parking and access in and out after hours. All the staff we encountered went out of their way to make our stay memorable and help in any way they could. We had a fantastic time in Port Douglas every single place we visited the locals went out of their way to be friendly and customer service was the best w countered anywhere in a long time. 23 years since my last visit to FNQ surely won’t wait that long again We’ll done Mantra for making our stay so relaxing

We stayed in a nice spacious 1 bedroom apartment with all the amenities needed, big comfy king bed, air con and fans and a hot tub on the deck. Awesome location- not directly on the main strip but one street off and a 1 min walk to the beach. It was nice and quiet in the resort and there were four pools. The only thing I didn’t like was all of the cutlery and air con remotes etc were wrapped in plastic. It might have been a Covid cleaning thing but it was such a waste of plastic especially for an environmentally conscious town like Port Douglas.

Wonderful stay at Mantra Aqueous! Stayed in a self contained King bed apartment. Lovely spa bath on the deck. Well appointed rooms with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Clean rooms and common areas, large pools (first floor rooms have direct pool access) Staff on check in were friendly and helpful. Would stay again for sure.

The room at the Mantra Aqueous was lovely, it was small and compact but had everything you needed. Bed was super comfy and the kitchenette was well kitted out. The pool access from our balcony was very nice and so was the hot tub. Was super impressed with the efforts made re: cleaning with the cutlery and remote individually wrapped up. The staff were friendly and the location was really good walking distance to everything

It was fab. Staff were fab. You guys would be perfect if you cleaned up your signage at front of building. That is where the impressions start.

Great location in Port Douglas

Clean and spacious one bedroom swim out apartment. Wonderfully clean and well maintained. Also had a spa on the balcony. Walking distance to everything! Only negative was the people smoking on the balcony above us, and hearing a loud argument at night which woke us and the whole complex!
