The best definition of value I have ever heard is “the difference between you you thought you were getting and what you got” this sadly was a very wide gap. It is not a destination venue but more of some where to dump your belongings and go out. It wouldn’t take much. I was advised when I arrived that it’s gets chilly down stairs… no it is freezing cold. The radiator isn’t big enough and the electric heaters just do not warm up the place. Blackout curtains across the doors would help. The shower does not have hot water it’s Luke warm at best. Instantaneous water heaters would solve that. Sadly I wouldn’t come here again. Over priced …. It wasn’t very clean either Kitchen bathroom and windows in the bedrooms not good.
Not very good at all.
We will be looking for a refund as the property was definitely not as advertised. Water ingress under the door and along the walls. It is an old stable which has had furniture put in it but not much else. Kitchen had insects in the cutlery drawer, the cupboard is ard doors were in bad condition. The fridge freezer was clean and worked fine. Mastic around the sink and shower unit badly done. Network kept dropping out and was very slow most of the time. The agent said in correspondence via Hotels.com that he wanted renters to be happy and that we should ask if they could fix things, the things were not fixable over two days. One of the chairs around the dining table had a fixing missing and collapsed when my wife attempted to sit on it. Woodlice all over the property. The comfortable bed was the only thing that pursuaded us to stay the two nights. Bathroom window not closeable. Outside was unloved. Pictures on Hotels.com must have been taken years ago as it now looks abandoned, hot tub filled with stagnant water.
Promises so much but delivers little
What to say the goods are great location for a trip to the Dorset coast architecturally the building promises so much and that’s pretty much it the property is functional and has all you need to a degree kitchen bits are hit and miss. This was supposedly new for 2020 all I can say is it must have had a hard past 4 years the property is very unloved and un kept work tops in kitchen never been oiled so now ruined over grown courtyard with stagnant water hot tub is not private as overlooked by window in main manor. The property if loved and cared for would be a fantastic place to stay would I recommend then the answer would be no.

Property has a lot of potential but in poor condition. Gap around bathroom window inviting slugs into bathroom. Gaps and cracks in flooring and walls, crumbling woodwork in bedrooms providing a feast for woodlice. Woodlouse on bedding. Bedroom furniture filthy so left clothes in luggage for the week. Black mould on drainer, limescale in kettle. No warning of low beam at top of stairs. Advertised as sleeping six but one bed was just cushions on floor. Leak under sink. Kitchen very basic with little work/storage space. Uneven flooring particularly a problem for dining chairs. Evidence of mice during our stay, chewed upholstery in living area (underside of sofa), damage to sealed packaging in kitchen, scuttling sounds and crashing under cupboards, under sofa, and behind the kitchen bin. Mouse droppings in bedroom and chewed luggage. Mouse seen scurrying out from under sofa to under oven when sofa was moved (last night of stay). Owner was contacted and put bait in adjoining outbuilding and in the bedroom, after we left he apologised and said he had located where the mouse was gaining entry. Agreed a partial refund but nothing received after 21 days. Owner responded to our concerns but accomodation very basic for the price range. Kitchen not well equipped, owner supplied extra equipment and explained items moved between adjoining properties and not returned. Not checked prior to arrival.
