Was exactly what I expected with the price. Private bathroom. A little noisy from neighbors, but no complaints really.

Nice staffs and convenient location to everywhere especially near cruise line.

A good spot for an overnight coming off a cruise, close to the Gothic Quarter. A clean, basic room.

Property and staff were wonderful, there was lots of construction, and traffic near the port with a sailing event taking place.

Front desk staff were excellent and very helpful. Good breakfast.

I've stayed at this hostal in the past and I've always enjoyed my stay. The location is really good as it's only around the corner from la ramblas. My room was fine .

Air conditioning not working. Limited items for breakfast. The staff was super nice.

Large spacious room, comfortable beds. Sadly we were on the first floor way in the back and the window opened into other units, so we couldn’t get any fresh air or sunlight. Shower door was questionable and felt like it would break at any moment. Otherwise great stay!

Simple room, but very clean from the room to the bed sheets and towels. Walkable to the Metro station, cruise port, bus station. Lots of restaurants along the street. Walkable to a lot of tourist attractions. 5 mins to La Rambla. Staff are nice and pleasant.

Tamara was very accommodating! The place was very clean and the room for 4 was big .The breakfast was nice we got a grilled cheese sandwich, fruit and coffee was available all day ! The only downside is that the shower was old and water kept changing from hot to cold . If shower was remodeled I would have gave it a 10.

Elevator stops at floor1- not good for knee probs!

I booked someplace with an elevator since my Mom recently had a knee replaced. Imagine the surprise that the elevator only goes up one floor! We were able to use the elevator, but then had to walk up approximately 20stairs to finish getting up to our room! Also a bit pricy for minimal room accommodations in my opinion.

Bad for the price

The property itself was fine (clean, nice staff, great location) but it was NOT worth what we paid. The accommodations would have been totally fine for about 1/4 of what we were actually charged. Even the front desk person during checkin seemed a little alarmed at what our room rate was. This was likely a result of demand based price inflation, but it really created a poor customer experience.

First of all, this is a Hostal, not a Hotel, take that into consideration for when you book this accommodation. The area around the hostal is not the best, but there is an excellent Paella restaurant (as recommended by the lady at reception) and a laundry place close by, very convenient, after a long stay in Spain. Natalia at reception, was extra helpful, same as the other members at reception, at different hours: Helpful and kind. The place is clean, average bathroom size for Europe. Quiet, despite all the activity outside. Thanks!

Convenient to port and Rambla. Some restaurants and small grocery stores nearby. Good for one - two overnight stay. Room type not guarenteed.

Rooms were small but overall was clean and staff were really friendly! Hotel was in a great central location as well.

The staff at Hostal Bcn Port was amazing, everyone was so kind and welcoming. We only stayed one night but weren't checking into our next place until later in the day. The staff was willing to allow us to store our luggage even past our checkout time. For small groups or short stays, I would highly recommend.

The location in the city was the plus on the room. The value was not there for the price. Service was good.

It was our first time visiting Spain, from the US. Pleased to say the staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds and linens were clean and bathrooms clean and had good water pressure and heat. The kids were thrilled that there was a TV, which we weren't expecting. We missed breakfast, because it didn't start until 7:30, which is probably a normal time there, but pretty late for me. My only gripe would be the cost. I realize we were in a great area, but we stayed in a 5 star hotel (in the Sants area) on the other end of the trip, and it cost us less money than this hostal. If we ever visit Barcelona again, and the price is right, we will definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel, great location for port and ramblas areas.

Definitely a nice hostal. If you are planning to stay in Barcelona for just a couple of nights, this is a good place because of location. In terms of amenities, there are none. But what it lacks in an amenities come that makes up with a great location and safe area. We stayed for in a room for one night and it served its purpose. We largely stayed there because most hotel rooms don’t allow more than three people in them. This allowedusus for and saved us money. The staff was nice. Also, the beds are substandard. They give you one small pillow and your blanket is basically a sheet. Keep that in mind. But yes, good value.

Today i'm back from Barcelona, from stay in Hostal Bcn Port and im very happy, room is very clean, Service is nice, everything is like should been , price is fine. Hostal is 5 minute from city Centre. I really want back there.

Great Location

This place is well located downtown Barcelona and close to metro stations. The room is bare essentials, but the air con was good and the service was great.

Small hostel with great service. Rooms are small but ver clean . Staff is friendly and helpful. Location near Las Ramblas make it worthwhile. Not far from cruise port so it was great for a short stay.

The rooms are basic but very clean. Location to waterfront was ideal. Metro and bus service nearby. Also, lunch and dinner options are not available but there is a well stocked market right next door. Staff was very friendly and responded to our needs quickly. We would stay again.

Family friendly

Large room with single beds for each family member. Onsuite bathroom. Clean and tidy. Friendly helpful staff. Great location for port. Perfect for us.

Nice stay

The hotel is in a great location in my opinion. Close to the attractions & near local neighborhoods. The room is very simple, just the basics, but it met my needs. The staff was incredibly helpful. I stayed in room 2, which was very quiet. It’s also close to the metro. It’s nothing glamorous but worked well for my trip. Not sure why an extravagant room is necessary when you’re hardly in it but to sleep. Just give me clean and quiet. I would recommend to others.

Centralize Next to a lot of places to eat and relax

The staff are very helpful. My only complain is that the wall are so thin. You can literally hear your neighbor's conversation. It gets very hard to sleep. Also the bwd is uncomfortqble. The pillow is so flat

You should be noted that the room keys also turn on all the light in the room. There is a card slot for the light in the room. The room and I had did not have any window to the outside world.

One night stay to enjoy beautiful Barcelona

The area is great close to marina, gothic quoter and beach. Quite inexpence and simple but clean and with friendly staff. Problems included battered bathroom with a shower falling apart and absence of temperature control in the room- it was quite cold. But for 1 night it was ok.

Perfect place to stay!

Was visiting Barcelona for a week and loved the location.

Close to port bcn and resasonable proce. They already know about the limited elevator service.

Excellent value for money

Great little hotel really near the port and Las Ramblas, with good public transport links to Sants station and other parts of the city. The TV wasnt working, so they didn't charge me for breakfast, which was fair exchange. They have some ground floor rooms.

Friendly, accommodating helpful staff. Clean rooms. Close to buses and metros. Close to pier. I will stay here again and readily recommends to my friends.

It’s located near Las Ramblas where the Columbus statue is. Lots of shops. Right by port. You can actually take bus to site. The room is what you paid for. We did not get towels until 7 pm after 2:00 check in. It’s good for a night or two but very plain and basic

It’s a decent place to sleep. Can’t beat the location, just a short walk to Las Ramblas etc. Clean, friendly staff, nothing wrong with it as somewhere to keep your stuff and lay your head while you’re exploring the city, but way overpriced for the quality.

Upscale dorm style

Had a room with shared bathroom down the hall. The hallways are a maze. You will get traffic noise whichever room you get. Still a good value hotel for the price. Location is great: near a metro stop, bus stop right in front, walking distance to La Rambla.

Nice staff, OK experience.

I knew I was booking a hostel so I didn’t expect a lot. It was overall clean, centrally located and generally just OK. But two things that I thought made it a drag. First, my booking said outside facing room, I didn’t get that. I got an inside room with a window basically opening to an inside alley/shaft. Second, there was a terrible sewer smell in the room, which I’m sure they really have no control over and was mentioned in a previous review on here. One other thing, even though it is a non smoking hostel, the smell of smoke permeated the hallways. Especially at night. Staff was helpful when asked and they did always greet you when you came in and went out. It did had great air conditioning and good WiFi.

Ideally Located

First, Hotel.com failed to inform them that we’re checking in very late although I informed you guys in writing. I showed them the proof on my phone, they called you and everything was okay. But first, you know what they told me? That my bookings have been canceled!!! Here we were, tired from our trip and to hear our three days stay canceled! I actually almost cried! Overall though, it’s a good hotel. But the price we thought included breakfast. We had to pay. The lady receptionist is wonderful and very helpful. The owner has charisma. Helped us load our luggages in the taxi. Oh, by the way, the taxi called by the hotel is expensive. Just get your own when you step outside. It’s cheaper. The hotel is ideally located. Just around the corner from La Rambla. Very nice !

Walking distance to Las Ramblas. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was overall suitable except the shower leaked and water spilled onto the bathroom floor. The bathroom also had a smell of residual moisture; a minor inconvenience but noted. Near different restaurants, metro and bus stops.

Fantastic location. Easy connection to cruise bus location. We easily walked from hotel to cruise bus with all our bags. Handy to metro stations.

Cannot fault the place

Right Space Right Time

I didn't spend a lot of time at Hostal Bcn Port, so I cannot evaluate the breakfast, for instance. However the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for those who are arriving or leaving from the port, or who simply want a location near the water. The rooms are compact and cozy. I had a single, with a private bathroom and it was just what I needed after a nine hour bus ride.

Close to everything

The hotel was how it was described on line. It was very closed to the cruise line which is what I wanted. It’s about a 35 minute metro drive to the La Sagrada Familia.

Good value with the right expectations

This hotel is a great value, but be sure to set your expectations appropriately. This is inexpensive sleeping, and not much more. Some rooms are with en suite bathroom, some share facilities down the hall. Know what you are reserving! What we consider to be the basics are great: comfortable beds, clean linens, strong water pressure, good hot water, fast free wifi, very friendly and helpful (and multilingual) staff. The rooms are small and the walls are thin, bring earplugs in case you end up in a room above the restaurant / bar on the first floor. If you don't expect more than this, you'll be very happy here. The location is great. There is easy access to the cruise ship terminal, with the port shuttle bus an easy walk with small suitcase, or inexpensive taxi ride with big ones. Las Ramblas and the Gothic quarter are easy walking distance. There are bus stops right outside the hotel, and the subway is an easy walk. You can get anywhere from here easily. We have stayed here before and after two cruises, and would be happy to do it again.

We highly recommend Hostal BCN Port. Clean, comfortable rooms at a great location (easy 10 min walk to La Rambla), also convenient to the cruise port and public transportation. Tamara, Pera and the rest of the excellent staff were always available to help with everything from information to transportation arrangements.

Terrible!

The place was a dump! Their "airport shuttle" service doesn't even work, so don't expect a free ride to and from the place. There's no windows in the room, it felt like a prison. The beds were hard as rocks, I got back pain from it. And the sheets made my skin itch. The only good quality is that it's close to the water, and it's downtown, so there are a lot of things within walking distance. Would not stay here again.

Nice location , but service could be improved.

The hotel generally was okay , the 24hr service and the staff were reasonably helpful and the general area was good. However what put me off was the cleaning of the room, the towels were never changed, I had to request toilet paper and I had a cut on my knee and they never changed the sheet the following day. I also had a cover sheet that had a stain on it, this put me off the experience of this hotel.

Would not stay here again.

The main reason I picked this hotel was because it said they had an airport shuttle, well they don't. They recommended a company, Shuttleing - which is the absolute worst. They didn't even show up at the airport to pick us up! Calling the phone number did no good since no one answered. The hotel was not the least bit helpful or concerned that a company they recommended blew us off. Also, after paying online you had to pay 2.16 in euros in person. This was very inconvenient as we were only there one day and the desk manager was obsessed with this, reminding us every time we passed him. The accommodations were okay, tiny room, noisy from the window, bar of soap was the only toiletry. I would not book this hotel again, ever.

Nicehotel, right next to the port.

Great location. only 3-4K from the beach (may seem far but the walk along the port is really nice. only a street away from las ramblas and 150meters away from the nearest tube station. room was clean and tidy and although we weren't meant to check in until 2pm - they allowed us tour room at around 1:30. even though there is a bar/restaurant below (closes around 11) there is no noise. room comes with a fan and air con

Excellent location for port hotel

It is a very clean hotel with basic room features, clean, safe, quiet, great staff, good breakfast for a fee, and a nice size private in room bathroom. There is also a ceiling fan, air conditioning to N. American standards, and a small flat screen tv. They have single beds, night stands, desk, closet and luggage rack in the room. The bathroom is larger than a cruise ship bathroom and had nice tile details. There is also an elevator to the second floor. Our room was super quiet. It was an excellent choice for a a hostel. While it was a basic room, it was a good value for the money and the staff was very good and kind.

It's so close to everything! The staff was friendly and helpful even when we had an early flight and there was a taxi strike.

Right in the middle of it all.

A very basic hostel, but situated in a great location near the port and the end of La Rambla. Metro and bus stops very handy. Our room had no view at all and very noisy plumbing, but the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was effective and quiet, and there was a free safe for our valuables. There was also free wifi. The staff were very polite and helpful and the room was cleaned daily. If you want a cheap and cheerful Barcelona city break then this is the place for you.
