Awesome hotel!

Always lovely hotel clean. Staff remembers me since I stay often here for trips to my son at college in Marquette. Love the hot tub though didn’t get a chance this trip. Breakfast could have a bit more variety from eggs, ham and pancakes. But coffee is always good. Convenient location. On the beach!

Mighty Mc

WE had a group of friends and we road our snowmobiles into town. Hotel staff was great especially the lady that ran the breakfast! Hot tub felt great after a long day of riding. Great location on the water and near downtown and the bridge.

Okay but not ideal

The hotel is dated, blankets on the beds were tattered and old looking, overall the room seemed clean but the bathroom mirror looked like it was wiped with a dirty rag. I probably would not go back.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel and it was clean. The staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was quite good. Ham, pancakes, eggs and the like. Waffles of course.

The Hotel was very kind and a nice place to stay. Right on the lake, and very convenient.

Winter wonderland

Although it was cold and winter nice place and great location

Really just a place to rest your head. Breakfasts was ok but limited options. Disclaimer, I stayed in the middle of February but it definitely has room to grow.

This hotel is amazing!!!

Excellent last minute stay! Booked this bc the bridge was closed & we could not cross. Had plenty of parking (at last minute) for a truck & 30 ft trailer!! Clean, breakfast was great, pool was great. Only negative comment i have is they made me & my 2 year old wait till 10am before opening the pool. They claimed they needed to add chemicals... we waited by the door & in the lobby for 40 minutes & they did nothing.... Just wanted us to wait i guess.

Front desk staff were welcoming, efficient and friendly.

Property was really clean and staff was friendly and professional.

It was a very pleasant stay.

We had a problem with the toilet. After call the front desk, the maintenance man never showed up. End up fixing it myself. The phone was very crackly and hard to talk to the front desk. The Breakfast room was excellent with several options for anyone. Nice reliable place to stay for the night.

Bridge closed. Found this place easy to book.

The stay was far from great. The power went out in most of Mackinac City and the hotel. With this being said we woke up to a room of 58⁰ and no heat. At breakfast there were zero options for someone who does not eat gluten or meat. No eggs and only white bread items!! When the front deak was asked about a refund, even just a partial or a voucher for another we were condescendingly told " o no, no ,no, no we just can't do that." I can say my wife and I will not be stay at the Hamilton Inn in Mackinac City again.

Our tv wasn’t working properly most of the time Breakfast was on third floor with no elevator for my wife to get there When I said something at checkout we were informed we need not stay there ever again then

Winter in Mackinaw City

Friendly, prompt check in and clean rooms with a comfortable bed and nice linens. Great location. Would recommend and we will return next time we are in the area.

I spent two nights in January here intending to get on a few winter hiking trails. It's a convenient location to get to Dark Sky preserve and Wilderness State Park. The hotel's pool, sauna, and breakfast areas were clean and pleasant. The room could have been updated with a lamp for better lighting and the hallways should be updated with better signage to find where to go as it was confusing. Otherwise, it's a nice affordable place to stay.

Quiet with useful staff even in the off season!

The people that work here are completely off their rockers, like batshit bonkers, EERYTIME we've stayed here but the rooms are clean enough and quiet, breakfast used to be better

I like that it is water front and has balcony doors to sit outside on the balcony in the summer if someone wanted to. Great staff always helpful

This place was great. We visited during the cold months so unfortunately there wasn't much open near by but will definitely go back during the warmer months. Staff was great and very helpful. Best view to wake up to on the lake!

Mold!!!

Got there for checkin was asked if we've been there before? then offered a free upgraded room, got to the free upgraded room it was late night so we did not see there was a big mold stain on the ceiling until the next morning when I went to look out my Lakeview balcony... Then I also realized there was water underneath the glass top table with mold and mildew on the wood between the glass and the table top it had been there so long.. told the front desk and they did nothing about it ... besides that it was a somewhat enjoyable stay ,other than the view i paid for wasnt. seeing a giant mold stain every look out the window the upgrade was just an extra bed which we did not need also...

We loved our stay. The pool and hot tub were great and warm. Beds were very comfortable. The receptionist was probably one of the nicest ladies i have ever meet. She made us feel so welcomed you can tell she truely cares for the guests. She gave restaurant suggestions for whats open. We loved the lobby and how cozy it was. We will definitely be back

Good Stay

Was clean and adequate for my needs. Only complaint is room was pretty cold when I went in. Took a while to heat up after I put the heater on. Good value at off season rate

We loved the pool and hot tub. The hours were great. Open till midnight!

The entire hotel smells musty and dirty. There were cobwebs hanging in corners and on hallway fixtures. Room lighting was horrible. Beds definitely need updates. Breakfast was cheap lunch meat ham, dried out frozen pancakes, disgusting powdered eggs, limited breakfast bread, lighting in the dining area was dark. Mackinaw City is not an inviting place to visit in winter. Thank God the Keyhole Bar was opened, they at least have decent food.

The complete stay was good overall and service was good as well, but everything we asked was extra price which kind of is ridiculous. Extra bed - 50$ + extra, sofa - 100$ extra, even for the laundry machines to get quarters - min 10$

Was on the first floor and let’s just say I didn’t sleep all night long all you could hear is people running up and down the halls above you .

Clean, quiet and a very beautiful place.

This os the second time in two weeks that we have stayed here. This time around was excellent! We couldn't have asked for more!

Poor customer service, no heat

I entered into a freezing room, after turning up the heat and waiting an hour and a half, I had on 2 sweaters and still freezing. I notified the desk and a handiman came to look at the heater. It was not installed right leaking cold air from outside. Waiting another hour and the room was still cold. I got my goose down blanket and got under it. Room was finally warm about 4 hours later. I should have been offered a new room with good heat due to being winter and very cold outside when I first notified the desk. Then when I discussed it at checkout they were like "you should have asked for a new room". I felt like it was my fault the room was cold. The in room jet tub did not work as well. Very disappointing stay

Nice room!

The ease of location for the special event we attended was perfect, I loved the uniqueness of the breakfast room being on the same floor as my room (floor 3). Plenty of options for exciting either via stairs or the elevators.

Good points: the room was clean and the staff friendly! In need of attention: there was no light bulb in the entry light, so we had to stumble around in the dark until we found another light. The only light that worked in the bathroom was the exhaust fan light. Vanity light burned out, so it was a bit dark.

The Customer service was amazing the property seems alittle outdated but also kinda what they are going for. The only issues we had was the beds were absolutely horrible and the amount of cholorine in the pool and hot tub was insane. It turned a blue pair of shorts white

Clean room but bed was very uncomfortable it felt as if I were sleeping on a board all night.Breakfast wasnt too bad like some reviews state. Eggs,ham,pancakes,make your own waffles,fruit,granola bars,cereal,yogurt

Treated Horribly

It was Ok, the TV was not working. On the last day it snowed bad, i was going to remove the snow myself I just needed a shovel. The maintenance man said he would do it but run off as soon as i went to my room to get my stuff. When i finally cought up with him, he literally tried to run away from me. I was begging him to just borrow me the shovel for a minute. He said sorry i cant help you. My car had been snowed it. A stranger who was also a guest helped me. The front desk was so rude that day. I would use the words like ma'am, sir, please and thank you for them to try to treat me better but it did not help.

Good hotel for the price. No major issues and staff was friendly.

The front desk lady was extremely rude during check in. The people who stayed there before us’ food was still in the fridge and stunk up the place. There was hair in my eggs at the continental breakfast. Terrible stay, we checked out a day early and had to lose the money we spent on the night. Sucks that we lost money but wouldn’t stay there another day with rude workers, dirty property, and nasty breakfast.

It on ok stay

Room is spacious, well kept with nice furnishings. It would be lovely if weather is nice but unfortunately we met with a heavy rain. Did not get to see much in the area.

Super nice room!!

Large hotel with limited elevators. Hallways were dark. Did not get to try the breakfast due to the fact it was very crowded and hot in the breakfast area. Very hot. We tried to eat at two different times and were not able to get in at either time. Came back into Mackinaw City 2 days later and stayed at different hotel and it was a much more enjoyable stay.

We booked two rooms. They were amazingly large hotel rooms. The bathrooms were clean and hot water took a little bit of time to get to the shower. But, once the shower water was hot, it was good to go. The included hot breakfast (7-9 am) was nice with the reasonably priced rooms. Check-in was a little bit of a challenge. We arrived early around noon. We checked in knowing that our rooms would not be ready until 4pm. We were told to return later and just pick up our keys. Of course, they required ID agsin (no problem ) but then it took a bit of time just to get the keys even though we had already registered and provided a credit card for incidentals. We were all tired from a long day. An important thing to note: Make sure you return your plastic key cards. Otherwise, it is a $50 fee. I’ve never heard of such a thing at any hotel in all of my travels. Just an FYI

Had a room with a sliding glass door the track was very dirty, which made a high-pitched squealing when you open. The doorscreen was leaning against the glass, not in the track. The view was great, and the beach area was clean

Noisy fan in the bathroom

No elevator to 4th floor. Was told views are best on 4th floor. But they are The same as other floors. Jacuzzi tube was not clean. Caulk around tub was cracked gross. Furniture is outdated. Overall building needs repair. disappointed

Fantastic view of Lake Huron from the room balcony. Sunrise and moonrise were breathtaking. Very convenient location, with many dining options nearby. Good breakfast. Clean and large room with good amenities, although two large beds occupied much of the space (one is adequate). A safe in the room would have been valuable. One of the front desk staff was quite rude.

Got a free upgrade to a beachfront when all the courtside rooms were booked before my arrival. Staff was friendly and courteous and answered any questions we had. Location was a convenient walk everywhere we needed to go. My only complaint is the rooms are not actually soundproof, as we heard the couple next door arguing one evening, and a child above is running around. Also, the gym was disappointing. Would definitely recommend and stay there again

From the outside it looks beautiful. Once you get in, all the carpet in the hallways are very old. The carpet in our room has holes in it. We had a very major problem, I am disabled. I went through Expedia to get a room for a handicap person facing the water. When we checked in they told us they don’t have accessible rooms facings the water. I will be reporting this to the state. So if your handicap you will be put in some back room facing the street. This place aught to be ashamed of their self. They don’t have any coffee available after 6 pm. The check in person told them s not to use Expedia. They said that’s why I didn’t get the room I wanted the water. This is a major ADA

Good two of the last rooms on a busy night. Staff was so helpful. Lovely rooms. Convenient walk to many good restaurants.

A bit disappointed

We visited in mid-October after the busy season. The room was overdue for basic maintenance repairs. The heater, sink and TV did not work upon our arrival and staff came to do a temporary repair that evening. However, additional items were not working but we did not request repairs due to only being there 1 night. Those items were: floor lamp didn't work, the TV kept rebooting and the safety grab bar in the shower was extremely loose and not usable due to concern it would come off the wall. (As an older senior with mobility issues, this was needed).

Nice hotel, a little outdated, however, the beach and perfect location is great. Very nice staff, kind and attentive. We received an upgraded room at our first night. It was a great experience.
