Magnífico hotel!
Excelente hotel, excelente servicio.
The staff were really friendly. The room was spacious and full of light. I always stayed in this hotel when I visited Shanghai!
Beautiful facility! Excellent service. English speaking staff eager to assist. Very comfortable accommodations and welcoming environment. Good location for local tours hotel pickup.
This is a very living experience in the hotel, no complaints at all.
refused to honor VIP discount for food/beverage
Room excellent. Nice surroundings. Location not bad. Pool downstairs with sauna etc v. functional with large pool. Could do with a spruce up and harder cleaning. However, I booked with a VIP booking. When I went to book dinner I checked, and the restaurant refused to honour the 25% discount. I went back to the reception and they also refused. I had made a special trip back with family for dinner, so this was unpleasant. So we went to a non-hotel restaurant. The next morning I talked to the manager who admitted fault but would not make it right except for some vague promise of a discount if I stayed in the future. I asked for a voucher or something, but nothing. So I had a written unequivocal discount in writing and I am expected to take vague promises? What prompted this review is I just got an email asking me to join Millennium....
No VIP treat at all. Price is so high!
Good
Thanks for great stay
Very bad experience with the hotel manager, not understanding and start yelling when I asked to change room. My family and I felt uncomfortable and we mahe a different hotel reservations just for such a poor customer service specific from the manager who got so upset and yell at us. Highly recommend to avoid this hotel
A beautiful hotel for a pleasant stay
During my recent stay at the hotel, I was pleased to find that it had been thoughtfully refurbished since my last visit over a decade ago. My room on the 8th floor was spacious, clear, and comfortable, offering a beautiful view. The amenities provided exceeded my expectations. However, there were a few areas for improvement that I believe the hotel should consider. Firstly, the chair in the room was uncomfortable for extended seating, which was a concern as I had to work from the room for several hours each day during my week-long stay. Secondly, the minibar items were overpriced, which was a bit disappointing. Thirdly, I was about about to be charged an exorbitant amount to print a booklet, so I gave it up. Fourthly, while the idea of the mailbox located outside the room for package deliveries and laundry services is fantastic, finding someone to inform me of its existence and accessing it was a bit of a challenge. Lastly, I found the hotel's laundry service to be quite expensive, almost equivalent to the cost of the clothes themselves. If guests require laundry services, it would be advisable to find an external alternative. Despite these minor issues, I immensely enjoyed my stay and appreciate the thoughtful refurbishment. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
Great place. Enjoyed my stay
It’s an excellent hotel everything went great I really recommend it for business or leisure stay
Would stay again.
The hotel was nice. One room was a bit musty smelling. Other room was fine. Breakfast was good. Pool area was really nice with a working sauna and steam room. Had some confusion over my booking re: breakfasts that came with room. Think it was a problem from Hotels.com. Instead of 2 breakfasts per room, one room had only one breakfast included.
great place and neighborhood
great place. a bit hard to communicate about the food on site as a vegetarian and some things were hard to tell if extra charge (use of workout facilities/pool) but overall great stay!
Stayed on the Executive Floor which was very quiet and nicely furnished. Very comfortable rooms. The food at the dinner buffet tasted old and dried out due to very few customers.
the hot water didnt work in my room they never fixed it until i changed room which they had to take me to few rooms before finding one suitable
Shanghai Family Trip
Nice property in good location with many coffee shops, restaurants and retail. Its subway close to everything Shanghai. My granddaughters loved the indoor pool. The lobby has ample seating and places to relax. The rooms weer clean, big and comfortable.
Very Accomodating
Michael the Manager is the Best
Awful and terrible service specially from the executive floor staff. They don’t know how to deal with international business travelers. I will definitely won’t ever come again to this hotel and I come an least twice a year to Shanghai for business
all good except bed was not comfortable and desk chair very uncomfortable and cannot see television from that position.
Fabulous hotel in every respect
I stayed here because it is very close to the Shanghai Jewish Centre which is a 7 minute walk away. But the hotel is stunningly beautiful with incredible service and appointment. It is a world class hotel in its own right.
Room fantastic, breakfast superb, really good location. The staff were so helpful and pleasant. Swimming pool and gym were great.
Convenient location and close to subway and some shopping near by. However, the cleaniness of the room when checked in was not too impressive. Subsequent replenish of supplies like coffee etc. were lacking .
Spacious and clean room, staffs are helpful Fair breakfast selection Convenient location, around 5-10 walks to shopping areas
I like the proximity to Shanghai Metro and the train statio.
Pillow too soft. I requested for supporting neck pillow, room service said all being used and not available. Overall it’s nice experience.
Hotel was overall quite good and I would probably book here again. Some of the fit and finish of fixtures are not good.
Great comfortable stay.
Great hotel, clean, nice rooms! Nighttime singing entertainment well worth the visit. Great stay for business and pleasure!
beautiful hotel nice amenities well located. reasonable price
Wonderful hotel. Excellent. service. Although the newly renovated bathrooms are beautiful; the engineering for the shower draining needs to be reviewed.
Comfort coupled with Comfort
The room itself was spacious and well decorated (clean and full of amenities goes without saying). By far the best bathroom and tub combination of any hotel room. Capsule coffee, strong wifi, and premium sheets rounded out the experience. The buffet breakfast had a nice spread that checked all the boxes. The area is also a great walking experience through Shanghai's Hongqiao zone with stores, restaurant and the International Dance Center just a few hundred meters away. There was nothing lacking - down to the cordial check in and check out process and fancy automated blackout curtains. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Bad experience - bad management
Over priced. lack of standard. The bundled Free Breakfast doesn't even offer tea or coffee! Ends up we paid RMB 15 for a cup of coffee. Totally don't understand why they want to charge separately - will this indeed help improve their bottomline? Stupid. The bell man was not well trained. Again don't think this hotel reflects the brand of Millennium - did they really appoint the hotel management group to manage? I doubt so.
Hotel is going thru renovation so it’s good news. Food is so so.
This place is so run down that everywhere even the first floor lobby has a rotten smell. The carpet is dirty and dusty everywhere. The north part of the whole building is having major remodel on all floors, and every floor has dust and paint smell plus noise. The construction workers are everywhere. They walk back and force in front of our room all the time and they stare at us when we were waiting for the elevator. The temporary door which separate the construction side and the "regular guest room" side is right next to the elevator. The door is constantly open and it let the dust and smell into the side we are staying. The carpet in all rooms are very dirty. Mold and stains are everywhere. (I have pictures but was not able to attach) One of the cleaners told me they were supposed to clean the stains right after the guest left but somehow they stopped doing it. Another cleaner told me, because they are going to remodel this side as well so they stopped cleaning the carpet. I have never stayed in any hotels that have such disgusting carpet. We had to move to another hotel which took us one day out of our stay in Shanghai. We had made the reservation 4 months before our stay. Expedia failed to inform us about the major constructions the hotel was going to have, not did they provide any alternatives to us. What was most disappointing was that Expedia refused to give us full refund for the terrible experience and trouble.
Outstanding breakfast
I picked the hotel for location, 15 minutes walk to Hongnei Road for World Cup and good eats. Hotel is under going a much needed renovation. Beds are Chinese style so a bit firm. Breakfast buffet is outstanding
breakfast not good
it's under construction
No going back
Bed bugs, dusty, outdated facility wear out carpet smelly and stainy. Staff try to do the best for sure ownership bot pay attention of the quality any more after going back the last 3 years this is my last stay!
Costruction on going and bed bugs
Costruction on going and bed bugs, got upgrayed for free as all the smell and dust. After changed with vip room for free our kid after one night was all bit from bed bugs. Facility is outdated and wear out not wort the money! Breakfast poor quality ingredients definatly not a 5 stars hotel I am using this hotel for the last 3 years and this is my last stay! There is better facilty out there with better situation and for better price. No more thx
Too pricey for what it is...
Rooms getting old and works in my corridor made everything look messy. Room price too high for what it is ! Breakfast not on the same standard as in the past neither...
Nice hotel close to areas in hongqiao area shops
Nice stay with the Sunday brunch for Easter. Slept off the food coma and worked it off a little with a swim.
HEARTLESS. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT GUESTS.
TERRIBLE! I got sick and missed my reservation. Showed up 5 days later and asked them to honor it. They said no. How about 2 days? how about 1 day? Anything? Manager Luna typed a lot of things on her computer, and without looking at me or showing any feelings, just said "No." I have said many many times in their hotel. Totally uncaring and got paid even though I didn't stay there for the first reservation.
Great family visit to Shanghai
This was our first time visiting Shanghai. As a city, we were not disappointed as we immediately saw the differences between Beijing and Shanghai. Shanghai felt easier for foreigners leaving in China. As for the hotel, it was a good sized room that offered us lots of space and a big bathroom. Travelling with a 2 year old is made easier when one has a big room, at the hotel provided that for us. The hotel also had a fairly large selection for breakfast, and it also had a play area set up on one of the days - I wish the left it there the whole time though. The service was very good, the receptionist were very helpful. The hotel is also a 5 min walk from the metro line 10 - Shuicheng Road station - which is only 4 stops away from the Hongqiao airport and railway station. So it's the most convenient hotel I know in terms of transportation, especially if you want to explore using the subway instead of taking taxis.
nice hotel in good location
I didn't get a chance to do much at the girl during my stay, but overall it was a very nice and comfortable hotel. I would give 5 starts, but the rooms could use a bit of a better upkeeping.
3 star hotel with no AC
The room was extremely hot. After complaining they told me that they turn off the AC for the winter and they even agreed that room was very hot. They offered to move me to another hot room. I stayed in this hotel many times as it’s walking distance to where I need to be I can tell you this hotel is no longer a 5 star but a 3 star at best !
Good place to stay in Shanghai
comfortable stay
business trip
the team is great, speaking a perfect English. very nice hotel with a good location
Awesome Stay... will be back again !!!
Everything is good . Just that the TV in rm not working well.. dun really can watch the program
Dependable and great for English speaking people
Proximity to my manufacturer makes this a perfect choice!
Hotel is fine - rooms are large enough and clean, bathroom facilities are nice with enough towels & toiletries. Breakfast had plenty of choices with omelette and Chinese crepe stations, cold cuts, cold and hot cereals, bacon and sausages, many different kinds of breads and rolls, yogurt, etc. Will stay there again.
Great Facility close to many services like Carrefour and many Korean and Japanese community services. Great swimming pool, okay gym. friendly staff. Not necessarily get food in hotel as you have so much from near if you like to walk
Bait and switch
If you reserve a room for 3 people and book the room to include breakfast, the hotel only provides breakfast to one person. The hotel will charge about $35 per day per person for breakfast for the additional two guests.
Very good stay. I have stayed there many times in the past 8 years.
great location, good service !
A great hotel to stay in HongQiao Area
We arrived at about midnight from Hong Qiao airport. Our room was clean, spacious and luxurious for the price we pay. It was truly a welcome sight.
Convenient to Airport (SHA) and Hongqiao Station
A fantastic place to rest and relax. Well appointed large rooms. Convenient to Shanghai Airport (SHA) and the main intercity train station. Not far to shopping malls, great restaurants, and luxury shopping. The only problem I had was that the previous guest didn't care about the non smoking status of the room and hotel. The room reeked of smoke!!!!!
Terrible Internet
Hotel needs renovation. The carpet inside the room has stain spot. Executive lounge was closed during the stay.
Millinniem Honqiao
Perfect hotel for access to Honqiao Station and Airport. Great hotel. Would be 3x the price in US. Good neighborhood. Will repeat.
It was a very nice hotel about 5-10 min walk from the Shuicheng metro station. There are many shops nearby for food- local, Japanese, western, cafe, etc. It's across from the Yan'an Elevated Road but sound insulation in the room is good. The water pressure in the shower is a bit low. The staff English is not very good and I had some difficulties communicating with some of them, including the junior staff at the concierge desk. The room's doors are very thin because I can actually hear the doorbells from the next rooms.
carpet is dirty and torn. short distance to HQ airport. Lobby smells like a big chimney

Five star should mean no mosquito infestation...!
A bit of an odd stay. The hotel reception and restaurants/ bars were infested with mosquitos, which immediately destroyed my experience at this property. I had a business meeting which required use of the bar and a restaurant. We tried to enjoy a drink in the bar, where there were a few of the little blighters, but then we made the mistake of going to the Japanese restaurant. Wow, I've seen less mosquitos in a jungle. At that point I complained only to find out that the restaurant is not operated by the hotel, which I assume means, 'thank you, nothing noted'. A small dinner for two in Sato was US$210, so you would assume that they could find a solution to this serious problem. It was the same situation at breakfast he next day, in the hotel run restaurant. I was not asked about my stay at checkout, so I won't be returning. It's otherwise a nice hotel, if somewhat old, located five minutes from to subway, and two minutes from shops etc....what a pity.
Nice hotel
Comfortable bed Good shower pressure Enough water and slippers in the room
All the staff was very nice and details. The staff on executive floor remembered I liked coffee on 1st morning; and prepared it on the next day.
Hongqiao
Still good.
OK stay
Hotel was pleasant, most staff were friendly, room was comfortable. Food was sub standard, and the executive lounge was disappointing and waste of money. Further from the airport and train station than I thought, although there is a shuttle service provided by the hotel.
Great hotel if you are traveling for business in the Hongqiao area. The internet connection is really great, and anyone travelling in China will understand that it's not always so easy to find a good stable connection!
Returning customer
Never before used to be prostitutes at hotel lobby, would not expect this to Millennium. Also, when returning to hotel with Chinese colleague's car, concierge demanded money for opening the car's door. He got upset after refusing since I was opening the door myself from the inside already. I have mentioned this to a lady at hotel check in but was ignored. I have stayed in this hotel at least 15 times but I think this was the last time.
mildew in the bathroom
mildew in the bathroom
Very Happy
Very comfortable and affordable
this is a little far away from citi center
this is nice neighborhood but far away from city center overall i am satisfied
Hot and Bitten up by Mosquitoes in December !!!!!!
Stayed 12/1/15 through 12/10/15 I Found the room very Hot !! and no air condition to cool it off.. I was told to open the window and did but it was still warm and was bitten up by mosquitoes all over my body ! I asked for a fan and they said They did not have one ! Front Manager had a bad attitude and he did not want to be bothered with my 2 complaints.
EXCELLENT in ALL WAYS
Excellent Stay, Normally I have issues getting decent food in China, but this location gives me unlimited choice to many international food and makes it easy. also Hotel is Excellent in all ways. The shopping is in walking distance, I think is the best hotel I have stayed in China in last 25 years
a great hotel
It was a great hotel near the Chabad house and great accommodation for shabbos allowing you the comfort of leaving and coming when needed.
Very good
Very good hotel rooms high shape very clean stuff friendly and services very good
Good, but needs a little paint...
Love the hotel, but our room needs some more paint, and TLC.
There is a chabad house around the corner
Pleasant experience
Overall very good experience. Helpful staff, good selection of breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms, pleasantly surprised that wifi is free (had thought that it was chargeable as stated in websites). Though it is not exactly at the heart of the city, MRT station is just within walking distance.
Great Hotel Great Location
Good location next to carrefour...Staff a little rough
Wouldn't go anywhere else
We always choose this hotel for business travel in Shanghai. Their service is excellent and they are centrally located to our business needs.
good parking
Parking condition is good . Room is clean . But the carpet of the floor is dirty . Supermarket is very near from the hotel only 3minutes by walk.
Great Location, close to subway
I have stayed at this hotel before without any issues. The hotel has change their policy regarding the internet. They now charge 120rmb per day for internet access. What they don't tell you is this includes only two devices. If you need more than two, they want another 120rmb. They don't allow to change between your smartphone, computer or tablet either. So in my case, I had to pay 240rmb per day.
Business Trip
Wifi Sucks in this hotel...rarely works in your room Sauna facilities supposed to open 6AM everyday however you are lucky if it is operational by 6:30am
the internet service had a US$20:00 charge and it was only good sometimes foe emails could not get on line. When i complained they brought me an in room router and it still did not help.E.Haber
Spend your money elsewhere
Horrible hotel . hotel staff are rude and management is ever worse. I used to stay at this hotel everytime i was in shangahi. Now i will never stay there again. I had a issue with my bill and when is came time to settle it , the hotel did not think twice to charge my credit card before i even checked out. They i told them i did not approve the charge , all they told me was sorry . not credit back nothing! I told them they better do something , or i will never stay with them again. Management did not care . He even smirked at me and i said it!
Great Stay
Everything in the hotel was great. Did not spend much time in the hotel though, except sleeping. Bed was comfortable & room was clean & nice.
Great Location Near City Airport
Other then the fact that in my opinion this hotel is grossly overpriced given the location - nowhere near Pudong or the Bund it is ideal for a very quick short over night stop for Shanghai's city airport. Thus ideal for early AM domestic connections. The room was actually quite large and certainly acceptable and the staff were friendly enough however for the cost no one really went out of their way to offer assistance with local restaurant choices and the wait staff within the hotel (late night) spoke poor to near zero English and it took quite a while to find a manager to translate the simplest of requests for additional towels and ice. Again I only stayed here as I had a late night arrival in Pudong and an early AM next day flight from Hingquoi airport in Shanghai. If you have similar connection issues then this is a decent hotel for this area versus lower end hotels that are in abundance but all my experiences with these hotels are poor to horrible.
ho hum
internet problems, limited number of "devices" could be hooked up without additional charges.
5 Star at Great Value
I hardly believe it when my friend inform me of the deal. The hotel is right next to Carrefour and has many local eatary like MaD, Food Court, Cafe, local restaurants. the surrounding has much much more.
Nice Hotel
Hotel was Nice, No Breakfast Included as other Hotels, and they don't supply Internet , You have to pay per day 125 RMB , while other cheaper hotels include Internet. The bar served me a drink, was like they used a baby dropper to fill glass. Room was nice. Sent 3 shirts out to Launder, it would have been cheaper to buy new shirts.
Great place to stay
It was an enjoyable hotel to stay. Great staff
Just passing through
Stayed one night transferring from Pudong airport to Honquiao. Staff spoke English and service was excellent. Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable by American standards. Would recommend and would return.
Overall, a nice luxury hotel in western Shanghai, but not the lowest price. Breakfast and Wifi cost 250 RMB/day. Great buffet breakfast with variety of American breakfast items, eggs cook to order, and fruits. Wifi can be slow at times. They gave me a free upgrade to a JR suite when they ran out of non-smoking regular rooms. Room is very nice and spacious. Hotel's restaurants have very good quality food and service.
Good one Expedia!
This was a great hotel and the only thing it was lacking is the location, so that can be resolved by a short cab ride to anywhere in Shanghai. Hope you enjoy you stay as much as I did. SM
Nice and clean rooms. Close to Hongqiao airport
The outside of the hotel does not look as nice when you arrive as the pictures. But the room is very nice and clean. Don't try to book a shuttle or pickup, it's expensive and the people coordinating it don't speak good english. I ended talking to them in Chinese to clarify what I was asking for, and just took a cab since it was $280 RMB. Cab was around $30 RMB
Great hotel, good service.
Hotel is great, right next to Carrefours and other convenient retail outlets. I stay here frequently, staff is really great. Room is clean, VERY spacious. My one complaint about this place is that the mattresses are very stiff- like sleeping on a carpeted floor. Bizarre, because they're probably high end. Maybe it's an Asian thing. Pillows are phenomenal, sheets are lush and super soft, room is clean. It's just really surprising when you get into bed expecting some amazing mattress because the room is so nice, and it's so hard. Oh yea- and the internet is super expensive and really slow.... Other than that, great hotel.
good overall
a first class hotel, well looked after, not in a very good area re night life or shops but convenient for business users. Evening Entertainment not very inspiring. however overall a good hotel to stay in.
Good Option
The Hotel Millenium, in Shanghai, is a good option, whether you are traveling for leisure or business. It's well located, near a metro option, which gives you the opportunity to use this kind of transportation. Even taxi is the best option when in groups. Concierge service is one of the best. They do all of they can to offer you the best recommendation based on your needs, not always being the most aligned with your expectations but the disposition is always above expectation. Good level of english: always a must! My only regret was the strong soy smell when coming out of the elevator and near the lobby area. Although it is a common smell in China, will be good to maintain the extra smell controlled like in the rooms' floors. I would definitely recommend it.
Great hotel and even greater for observant Jew it is a 3 minute walk to Chabad. it's my place in Shanghai from now on

They didnt offer any VIP benefits Also aor condition in some rooms dont work we had to change room
