The property was close to the venue we were there for and the views from the property were beautiful. The check in process was a nightmare. Communication with the main # was difficult and then the onsite rep spoke no English which made it very difficult, especially when we ran into issues with security in the building.

Excellent experience

This is not a traditional hotel experience, so you know. You have to jump through some hoops to check in and get your room key, then navigate your way in the building, up the elevator and to your room. The instructions from Globalstay give you the basics but there are some things you have to figure out yourself. With that said the overall experience was excellent. I experienced none of the issues other reviewers talked about. The room was beautiful, modern and upscale. It was in the middle of everything Toronto has to offer. You would pay at least twice as much to get a similar hotel room. It was also spotless and fully stocked with sheets, towels, toiletries, etc. Globalstay customer service was awesome. Any text or email was responded to within 3 to 5 minutes and most times within 30 seconds to one minute.

The livingroom 'loveseat' was very small and uncomfortable; the tv was VERY confusing to use and should have had instructions with 2 controlers. there was no plug in the bathtub after a long tradeshow I was hoping to soak... great location overall a good stay and I'd book again

Never will I use GlobalStay again.

GLOBALSTAY informed me the day before that they are moving us to another location. The building was an additional 1km further making it difficult for one of our guests who has mobility issues. The company did not care and made no effort to compensate us for the displacement (nor meeting their end of the contract). I highly recommend not booking with this company as they do not honour their end of the bargain.

Stayed in apartment for 4 nights in late September, 2024. Positives included: Location. Short walk to convention center, apartment is compact, but has adequate space, grocery store around the corner, close to sports arena. Negatives: Does not have coffee pot; noisy ventilation system; toilet requires that one take lid off tank to reset valve ~ every 4 flushes; remote for TV did not work and I finally figured out how to use my iphone as remote; bed is very......firm and pillows are also of low quality and very firm. Apartment needs some love and attention.

I was traveling to Toronto for a conference and this property was in a great location - close to Union station and the conference center. The apartment itself was overall comfortable and was sufficient for the two days I was there. However, in the main bedroom, the wallpaper is peeling off. The microwave door handle was broken and the microwave did not work. Also, the check-in process was not ideal. You HAVE to follow someone into the elevators to get the elevators to work, as you need to key fob to operate the elevators and you don't get the key fob until you enter the room. This was a bit of a problem as my flight was delayed and I got to the property pretty late, so I had to wait for a bit for someone to come into the elevator so I could get to my room. One last thing, the locking instructions for the door that I was originally provided were incorrect so I had to contact the company to get locking instructions. Pros: the company was excellent at communication and were quick to respond when I contacted them.

Nice place but needs updates.

Nice apartment in a great location. The unit had a great view bur could use some updating. The wood floor has some damage that needs some repair. The AC was loced at a warm 25.5 celcius ( about 78 F). It was very humis outside so being able to cool the unit would have been nice. The toilet tank takes a long time to refill, so you have to wait several minutes between flushes.

One of the worst stays! First, it is difficult to get through to anyone when calling. Showed up and a/c didn’t work and spent entire time on phone trying to get someone to help and nobody could help. Told them just get us a fan and they couldn't even do that! We were almost late for our show from trying to get someone to deal with the issue. Bedroom window knob was broke off so couldn’t open window. Ceiling in room was peeling off, headboard of bed was filthy. Kitchen floor was apart in places. I will NEVER book with Globalstay again for the fact that they couldn’t even deal with our main issue. When you pay that much for a 18 hour stay, it should at least be comfortable...what a disgrace!!!

There was no wiggle Room to check in early by even an hour and there were not enough toiletries for the length of the stay for both bathrooms. The remote for the TV did not work so we had to buy our own batteries to make the TV work. The one bathroom light burnt out and there was nothing to replace it with.

Positives: The apartment was in a brilliant location for access to the waterfront and the subway. Negatives: Internet would keep dropping if not in main sitting area, apartment was clean and tidy, but could do with some touch up As i only used the apartment to sleep in then would recommend to anyone for the location and ease of access to the city. Set aside a lot of time to get checked on.

Getting a key was really poor, the room was clean but really basic, I wouldn’t stay here again. Also had to email a phot of myself and a picture of myself with ID which I think is a bad business practice.

Illegal subletting?

Very weird experience. The owner showed up in the morning knocking on the door saying we weren't supposed to be there. She then called someone and there was yelling on the phone. Apparently someone was renting the unit and was subletting it without approval. We had to go to a conference, and the owner stayed at the apartment without us, and all of our stuff was still there. That day I got a bunch of missed phone calls from someone (I'm assuming the person who was subletting). When I called back, they just hung up on me. Globalstay provided no discounts for the disruption.

Good location! Great place!! But you have to check in also at the front desk where there are guards, asking you to send id and filling out same information again. The property states there is a spa but you can access it only when you stay for 28 days and more. It should be told in the property details. The condo was clean, comfortable and very well located!

It was terrible!!! A headache from the moment we booked. Have to go to a different location to get your key. No directions. Couldn’t get key at 3pm and weren’t allowed in our unit cause cleaners were in there. Horrible experience!!! Do not book with this company. Cleaners knocked in the door at 10:30 and wanted in when check out wasn’t until 11am Absolutely terrible experience!!!

We booked a 4-night stay at the "Romantic Apartment". It was small and sparsely furnished. The previous guests did not follow the instruction to take out the garbage. Some unfolded sheets were stuffed in a hanging storage. The only toilet in the property was broken on arrival. They could not fix it nor offer any alternatives. Phone calls never got through, but they did respond to text. We waited for the mysterious "property manager" all evening and throughout the night. No one showed up or called. By dawn, we texted them we had enough and wanted to check out. We were assured that the remote process (Keycafe) would work despite the early checkout. It did not. I immediately notified them of the anomaly and even sent a picture of the exact Keycafe box where I dropped off the keys. They said they would handle it from there and there was nothing else I needed to do. Weeks later, they refused to issue any refund or compensation because my reservation remained active in their system the entire 4 nights. The security deposit which was to be automatically refunded within 7 days is also being withheld without any explanation. My credit card company and several other agencies are looking into this fiasco. Their hands-off approach probably works OK most of the time, but when it fails (and toilets do break), they need to have some kind of local support, and not just keep repeating "We have already forwarded this issue to the property manager".

Location is spectacular for Blue Jays games, downtown food scene, proximity to the lake, amazing views. Overall building cleanliness left something to be desired, unit cleanliness and condition left something to be desired. Building felt like it was about a 4 out of 10 on cleanliness. The unit itself had garbage in one of the bathrooms, door handle almost falling off in the same bathroom. Beds are very firm so I found I woke up sore each day (but this is a preference thing). It has everything you need if you aren't cooking but aside from that I would say it is not a "homey" type of unit. If you intention is to catch some baseball and barely ever be at the unit then this is the place for you. If you want something that is clean, comfortable and welcoming I would suggest you keep looking.

I personally look at reviews before I book a room so hopefully, this will help you! PROS- location is great. Secure building. Parking under building was reasonable.Its a condo.Communication was good. CONS-They needs tons of information including two pictures before you book. Confusing regarding a parking spot code (took us a long time). Need to obtain keys from a kiosk which was confusing. 2 bedroom condo has little living space.No plugs if you want to take a bath.Stains on rugs and blinds. Need to pay damage fee which took a full week to get back.

Communication was terrible. The owners did not answer calls and were slow to respond to texts or voicemail. We arrived to town late and the check-in instructions were not clear, leaving us frustrated and completely on our own to navigate. The posting says that parking is included, only to find out that there is a separate fee and reservation required for parking. This mean we had nowhere to park our car when we checked in and had to park across the street at a $40 rate. The owner did not respond to our calls about this and the next day, sent vague instructions on how to park in the building, after charging us a fee. The instructions were useless and we ended up parking at an offsite location. This is not intuitive to people traveling from out of town. Several items in the apartment were broken/didn't work, including TV, guest bathroom toilet, and toilet seat in main bathroom was broken. Would not stay again and would not recommend.

My stay there overall was OK, however a week after checking out I received an email from them stating that I ruined a pot that I didnt even use and i was going to be charged for it. I have emailed them back twice now to discuss it, to which no replies and my credit card was deducted the money from my deposit. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERIVCE, renter beware!

Good location. TV did not work, remote was wrong for Amazon fire TV stick. Communication was plentiful- but often contradictory. Instructions sent were different from links sent. Parking instructions were unclear at best and confusing. Check-in and check-out instructions were confusing (where to get keys, how to return keys). Apartment was as advertised in a good location in the city. It was clean.

I've used Global Stay previously and the stay was great. This time around the check in process was quick and easy. HOWEVER, when we arrived both showers were not operable (both of the shower knobs were off and not able to turn and the bathrooms and kitchen did not have any paper towels or toilet paper. I wasn't able to bathe my 5 year old. I sent photos regarding the shower knobs to them and they indicated they'll rectify. Only one shower was repaired during our stay while the other remained with no knob. I was charged for the damage of the shower knobs and given photographs that I sent them that the shower was not working upon arrival. Generally, the overall stay was good with the exception of the showers not working and only one of them being operational for 6 people was the major drawback along with being charged for something that was already a prior issue. Also there were three lights not operating which made certain areas quite dark. Also the booking indicated there was a toaster and a kettle (both were not available) which was upsetting for the 3 senior grandparents who enjoy tea and toast in the morning. I would be wary about staying here in the future with the risk of any damage to the place being blamed on you. Global Stay was quite communicative regarding the whole process and they haven't responded regarding the remaining amount of the deposit but I assume they'll won't refund even after talking to the owner of condo unit itself.

The unit was smaller in person as the pictures made it look bigger. It was comfy though for two adults for 2 weeks. Lightening fast internet, the kitchen was nicely stocked, plenty of linens available, and the laundry ability was nice. The only downside was that the parking situation was really confusing and the security guards could be rude when asked questions.When I booked the property stated a gym was onsite and an available amenity however upon check-in I was told due to COVID-19 restrictions it wasn't available. This was strange considering COVID-19 restrictions were lifted almost 2 years ago. Please don't advertise amenities that aren't available and then give an outdated excuse.

Great location, beautiful apartment, weird checkin

The facility is great. Once we were finally checked in, everything was fantastic. I really loved staying here. Checking in was a trial. We were supposed to meet someone to let us in, but no one was there. It took over 45 min and several calls with me standing on the street and my family in the car before I was able to meet the person to check in. When I met him, he was incredibly nice. I'm not sure what the miscommunication was, and it was unfortunate. Getting past that, it was a wonderful stay, great location, plenty of space. We truly enjoyed our time here

We initially booked at a different Global Stay location which states on their listing that they have a pool (which upon receiving check in instructions, AFTER sending the deposit, it says the pool is unfortunately closed) this was the main reason for choosing this place. Also, the ‘walkability’ distances to Scotiabank arena, Path, etc. these were off by 30-40 minutes, and I have two small children, so this wasn’t possible for my family to stay there. I contacted them asking to change locations or for a refund (at least 24 hours before arrival) and they wouldn’t help me at all. Finally after a long time chatting with Expedia they helped me change to a different location that advertised a hot tub. I felt defeated so I took the offer for the new location. Global stay doesn’t answer their office or cell phones the entire time I dealt with them. So the only for of communication was email. They told me to let them know when I was 30 minutes away and someone would be there to let me and my children in. I did that and nobody was there to greet us (this is while my husband parked at a different location because the parking they advertise on site was not available). So my two children and myself are waiting around for over 30 minutes wondering if we even have a place to stay. Finally a man came to let us in. He was nice, thank goodness. There was a pool and hot tub that we couldn’t use because we aren’t long term residents. The window blinds were broken so my kids couldn’t sleep.

I arrived late in the evening and still had no check in instructions or room number. I found no security or agent at site so no one to assist. Multiple entrances so I spent a lot of time looking for someone to check me in. After a hour and a half of looking for someone and calling disconnected phone numbers I finally emailed and got a response. When I did find my room it was out of many amenities like shampoo, soap and the room was dirty and bed was uncomfortable. I washed my clothes only to find out the dryer was broken and full of wet smelly bedding. This means I also travelled home with wet smelly laundry. When I did finally find site security they had me fill out duplicate paperwork because global stay had not passed along my information. Floors were damaged, many lights did not work. No wifi information provided so i did finally email my host on last day with the problems I had and they made no effort to assist beyond providing a wifi-password. My colleague who booked accommodations in same building was told they put him in a different building. No food dining or lounge options so bring your food with you. Due to multiple entrances far apart Uber could never find the right one which means chasing them from entrance to entrance with luggage in tow.

They require way too much information from you prior to checkin. Once we got there they left the key outside in a lockbox that wouldn’t open, we did that for over an hour. Someone finally came outside and used their fingernail to pry it open. I don’t like that we had to pay a refundable $200 deposit via PayPal after booking. Seemed sketchy to me originally. Light bulbs in bedroom did not work. Also, the washer was full of black mold and I couldn’t wash clothes. Do not ever book with GolbalStay Toronto

I am a very frequent traveller and GlobalStay falsely advertises their property. I brought my 7 and 3 year old with me and I was forced to leave early due to the accommodations. See below the list of problems. Do not stay here! - they advertise free parking and there was no transponder for the garage. No transponder on island like instructed. I had to pay for my own parking. I submitted receipts by email, and nothing. - the window coverings were missing blinds. You have zero privacy. My little kids were unable to sleep or change in there rooms. - I had to buy my own blankets from the winners, they didn’t have blankets for all the beds and blankets had weird stains. -the dishwasher wasn’t secured and their was construction material around the unit. - towels were left in the wash, I guess you do your own laundry to have clean towels on day 1? - they had past customers names and documents laying around the unit. I escalated all of this to GlobalStay and they just ignored me. They handle customers by ignoring them and hoping they will go away. I was forced to leave early and escalated this to Hotels.com where they just let me know that Global stay has refused to refund or reimburse me for leaving early or my parking it seems. Global stay will also hang up the phone on you. The manager of global stay will write some comment below about how they’re sorry and looking into it, but I can guarantee you that’s to try and act like they care but they will do nothing. Just

Place was nice and spacious, but did take an hour to get our key as the code did not work. Lots of back-and-forth with the property managers to get it sorted out which was frustrating. Inside the unit was nice and clean,however, the remote for the TV did not work. The batteries were dead.

Will never recommend - they only returned the deposit a month after we left, after we asked. Although they said the apartment was pet friendly, and we paid the full pet fee, they still took 200 dollars from us. Said that the cat damaged their property and as proof sent us pictures of cat fur. After asking for proof that cleaning the fur would even take 200 dollars, or whether the “damage” came from our cat, they refused to answer!

The location was fabulous. Great view. Comfortable unit. Easy parking. The unit was missing a few comfort items: there was no coffee maker, only one towel per person (which would not have been bad if the washer had worked), no washcloths at all or handtowels (0only one in kitchen, one in each bathroom). A mirror in the main area would be great, having them only in the bathrooms makes it hard to get ready when others are using the bathrooms. We would come back!

Location is great.. apartment is not..

The view from and location of the apartment was excellent. However, upon arrival the code to get into the building did not work. After spending 15-20 minutes on the phone without any resolution I walked in when someone came out of the building. I had to ride the elevator with another resident and walk down 9 floors to get into the apartment. There was no parking fob in the apartment for parking that I had paid for. My parking fee was refunded but I still had to find parking in downtown Toronto on a Friday night. The thermostat in the unit did not seem to be working and it was a struggle to maintain a consistent comfortable temperature. In the morning we discovered that the coffee maker did not work.. the switch fell out when trying to turn it on.. also the toilet ran so much by itself that we had to use the water valve to turn it off and on.. With all that being said.. the location was perfect for attending a maple leafs game. 5 minutes after the game ended we were back in the apartment.

The view was incredible and the space was really nice. We wished there was a little better communication about things we needed to supply ourselves. (we got in very late and there was no toilet paper, towels, paper towels, and the washing machine was not working). None of that was a big deal but I wish the property had a "things you need to bring" section. Things were a little neglected; loose shelves in the closets and things like that but for the most part it was far superior to a hotel stay, we did get quick responses to any questions, and the location made it well worth any minor issues.

The location is perfect, the people that work on 9th floor need to help and explain more, for a person renting for the first time, they should not be made to feel lost, like how it made us feel. After getting to know the place, it was easy, but I almost left and cancelled but really enjoyed the stay.

PROTECT YOURSELF AND DON’T STAY HERE

We stayed at a property and after we left we were accused of damaging the property, which we didn’t do and were refused our damage deposit. Do yourselves a favour and never stay at one of their properties. You can’t speak to anyone to try and plead your case. They make false accusations to keep your money. One agent said we maybe didn’t take the garbage out (we did) then grasped at we smoked in the unit (we don’t smoke). They pick and choose who they target and it wouldn’t matter if you protected yourself by taking photos because you can’t speak to anyone anyway.

Not unreal but easily fixable if they want to

Some very key simple items missing that could move this up the ranks very easily. I provided that feedback so hopefully there are changes. For example there was a great kitchen but no pots, can opener, the batteries in the remote were dead so I could only turn the TV on manually but not do anything from there. Bathrooms had one shower towel, no hand towels or a mat or towel for when you get out of bath or shower. Stain on bedding (not terribly gross, looked like maybe from a pen, but in my opinion easy to fix). Blinds need to go, broken, don’t keep out any light and 30+ years old they appear at least.

This property is in a prime location, but it is a condo in a building that is NOT friendly toward short term rental and the price charged per night would be better spent somewhere else. Toronto has new rules about short-term rentals and there is signage all over the property about reporting suspected short-term guests/rentals. Additionally, do not expect the amenities outlined in the property description - we had 4 towels, 2 hand towels total for a property that claimed to sleep 6 (but had to look in closets until we found any of the towels). The main living space was nice, the bathrooms were not super clean and there were bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash on the floor of the shower and bathtub. Basic kitchen utensils, saute pan, nothing to boil water in - no sauce pan/stock pot. Blinds were falling down - one of the bedrooms only had blinds for one side of the wall of windows... It is NOT a luxury condo. If you don't go expecting amenities, it's fine - other than price point. ***Don't forget to exit the garage with your garage fob and then try to find a place to park to return your garage fob to the apartment counter before returning your apartment key to the lockbox. No one will help you onsite if you have an issue.

The lister is GlobalStay but they use Expedia and Expedia allows them to continue even though their reviews on Expedia and their ads are lies. Look anywhere else online and you'll see the REAL REVIEWS. Expedia does not care and will not do anything about them. I have to assume that Expedia is fine with the lies and threats of these people This is what happened to me using Expedia and Globalstays First things this property is an ILLEGAL rental. Both Globalstay and Expedia do not care once they have your money, they know you are stuck because you are travelling and that is it to them. My first issue arose the second I arrived .Because this is an ILLEGAL rental they did not leave the key in the building but attached it to bike racks outside of a bank. There was no toilet paper. The tub was dirty. Spoons were filthy and the dryer was full of towels and sheets. You can NOT use the pool, gym or spa as a short term renter even in the legal units although their ad says you can! To top everything off they threatened me when I complained. I was so scared I slept with a knife by my bed and my phone set with 911 ready to just hit dial!! If you look at their reviews ANYWHERE except Expedia you see nothing but horrible reviews for them! Please stay away!!

Hotel stay for conference

We stayed in this condo as we were here for a work conference, this allowed us a kitchen to cook. No pots provided No kettle Coffee maker, but no coffee Blinds are missing quite a few slats so no conducive to sleeping Check out was a headache with the garage key; good thing I’m not alone or no idea how I would manage. Called the office for assistance, auto responder voice message saying “they couldn’t hear me and hung up” - 2 separate times with 2 separate voices. Location was convenient, but I would not stay here again; for business or pleasure.

This property is located next to Union Station and the Scotiaback Arena. Very close to all types of trains and buses. Excellent location, with lots of amenities in the area. Though the area was noisy, the apartment wasn't. The apartment we stayed in was small and the furniture needed upgrading. Also its not a hotel so toiletries are at your expense if you run out. Besides that it was very good.

Would not recommend this place to family & friends

The mattresses are so soft and old that every time we turned, the coils would make noise! Very uncomfortable beds. Basic items like face cloths, coffee maker/ electric kettle aren’t provided. I would not recommend this place to my friends and family. The only good thing about this place is the location where you can walk to many tourist attractions.

We just recently stayed at GLOBALSTAY maple leaf square.. before arriving we expressed our need for a crib for our one year old. We were told countless times it was reserved, and would be no issues as long as we paid a 30 dollar fee.. first they didn’t send us the invoice for the crib then when doing so their server was down so payment could not be made. We emailed explaining the issue and they told us no worries if the problem keeps happening by the next day let us know.. the next day comes the day we arrive & there is no crib bc payment was made to late.. even tho it was an issue on their end.. they ended up cancelling the crib all together so we didn’t have one for the duration of our stay and ignored our messages until we left. Check in was a complete nightmare and the instructions given were not clear.. it took 45 mins and we were the only ones in line. There was also no toaster, tea kettle, face clothes, bath mats not one single sharp knife to cook with. Bath tub plugs would not work with either bathroom so we had to bath our one year old in the sink. Washer did not work, broken doors & blood smeared in the closet. On the ad it said we would have access to the pool, upon arrival we were told that the pool was only for long term rentals. The only positives are the location & the view from the room.

Property was easy to find and a really nice location and view. The check-in process was a bit of a faff lucky we were able to connect to the areas free WiFi to get the location of a lock box that had the key in but once we did that it was fine

The blinds in this unit need replacing as there are about 7 slats missing in the one bedroom and a few in the other. Plus didn’t realize to get out of the garage you need the transponder which means you need to get your car then go back to the apartment put the transponder back then return the keys to the lock box.

I booked this property for 2 nights, for 6 people to stay, baseball game, Toronto trip. Location for walking to Rogers Centre was good. Check in was a nightmare, they required personal information to be e-mailed prior to key box ind structions, then key code did not work, over an hour on the phone with "Globalstay" and then Expedia, finally something worked. A "security deposit" was required before the stay, to be refunded within 7 days, and after 8 days, I have not received it. the apartment was good, however, no coffee maker, that was about all we would have used in the kitchen had there been one. Very frustrating experience with the "Globalstay" people , I am a regular Expedia user, always been satisfied or better. I do NOT recommend this propery, and I dont thin Expedia should offer it.

Everything was fine. However, you are required to submit how many guests you have staying with you (which is fine). So, they knew we would be 6 guests but did not provide any bed sheets, pillows, or blankets for the 3rd bed (sofa bed) despite the ad saying there would be some available. I asked if they could bring us any and no response. I suggest if you’re 6 to bring your own extra blankets…
