There is a great vibe here, with relays of teenagers and twenty-somethings visiting in groups, alongside older generation singles, couples, and families. Not having TV was a benefit, not a loss.
Would not recommend this for a first hostel experience. Felt bugs crawling on me at night, dorms had a bad smell, people getting it on in the washroom, roommates had soiled clothes hanging everywhere. This is literally a frat house with 0 AC. Also rooms were not gendered, didn’t make me uncomfortable but as a general safety concern would not travel here alone. People aren't briefed about basic rules and expectations, cleanliness is out the door, guests rummaging at 1/2am with no regard for keeping it down for other people in the room. I checked out 1 day early, def not worth it, pay the extra price and get a hotel. First and last motel experience. Overall just sketchy to be honest.
Fourth best Generator Hostel
I have now stayed at all 16 Generator hostel and I rank this one #4.
I’ve done all 16
I have stayed now at all 16 hostels and I ranked this one the fourth best
Fun hostel to stay at
Very small room, no internet in the room and locker is not free and no towels no shampoo no anything
Go for Generator
Love our stay. Sandra at the reception was amazing.
The room was clean and modern. The location is around 10 mins walk to train station. Common area is nice. However, the room didn't have fan and air-conditioning and was quite hot. The street was noisy in the night.
Like it a lot :)
Great staff. Everything available nearby. No self cooking available. Breakfast available. Clean efficient professional.
Great value, friendly staff & good vibes
My room was horrible. I had a family room for my husband, two sons and myself--it was tiny! There was no TV, Wifi was spotty, towels were extra, the place was extremely noisy, there was mold in the shower and the sink didn't drain.
Nice cheap accommodation and opportunity to socialise with others
Staff were very kind. Rooms were more spacious than expected which was nice. Walking distance to Berliner Fernsehturm and multiple Christmas Markets. Enjoyed our stay.
Not bad for a hostel, clean for the most part, and decent amenities and product. Staff would rather have personal conversations than check people in and the front door is locked even during the day, the only way you’re getting in is to somehow get the front desks attention.
Very nice
Good facilities and location
Staigth place i like it
Price is worth it for short stays . Hostel has a high quality comparing to other hostels
It was rather nice overall. Nice friendly staff.
No AC or any form of ventilation makes it a nightmare to sleep in during a very hot summer. No wifi in rooms as it only works in the main lobby and no laundry service. On the positive it was clean and staff was nice and helpful.
My stay was good but there were several repairs needed in my room.
Great location- excellent price - no ac.
Location’s great and the staffs are helpful. However, there’s no amenity at all, including hand soaps and a bath mat so the sanitary conditions were awful. The hallway smelled like pee. It’s not worth for how much you are paying.
Location is great ,you are in the heart of center.
Love the friendly staff, safe place, great atmosphere. So convenient to everywhere.
One80 was very clean and hygienic. The bar is a great place for meeting new people and making travel buddies. The location looks kinda doggy but it’s quite easy to access everywhere on foot or only one station away by the train.
It was ok
Hostel is very good for solo travelers. It has a nice lounge and vibe to it. The price is a lot better than most lodging here in Berlin. I wish they had AC in the room. Also they need for amenities in the restrooms. Staff were friendly.
Good value for the price. Clean room, decent beds.
I love one80 hostel. My go to every time I come to Berlin. Always so clean and most roommates are very respectful.
Terrific value for the money.
Very good stay. Very good for the price. Located near the main train terminal. I recommend this place within its price group.
Great location, good price. Pillows activated allergies.
Great location right near Alexanderplatz near the TV Tower. Definitely good facilities for the cost. I never stayed in a hostel before and was not explained about how linens worked and was asked to pay again although I had been charged. Young guy behind counter was unprofessional, using curse words when we arrived, and didn’t give me keys to our room. I was only staying for one night due to a cancelled flight so I’m not super mad but sleeping on an uncovered mattress and pillow was gross. Following morning during check out, that desk guy was rude. Won’t be staying here again.
Very good hostel style living.
Great place for the money & handy location near the central train station, which gives you good access to the whole city. Obviously one’s privacy is compromised although everybody was generally very considerate. Every 2 or 3 nights someone seemed t stumble in after midnight & decide that it was a good time to clang around & set up shop I instead of going to bed. But, that comes with the turf. They serve an adequate breakfast for 7 €. Showers are real good & rest roms well maintained. Good experience. Great for the shoestring budget.
My favourite Berlin Hostel
The room I had was at the end of the corridor furthest from the Lift and was amazingly quiet. Also for som reason only one person stayed one night during my 3 night stay so it was like I had my own personal bedroom, shower room and toilet. This is my favourite hostel in Berlin because it is so close to Alexanderplatz .
Never stayed in Hostels before and was pleasantly surprised with our stay at One 80 and will definitely consider hostels in the future.
Alright, but needs some improvements
It was alright. There were a few things: checking in felt a bit strange as the staff barely looked up from their desk, the lock for our bathroom didn't work, and the room was were hot and the windows opened right out to a very noisy road, so that wasn't optimal.
It’s cheap but not conducive
Really not so good, my room never got cleaned for 5 days
Very modern, friendly staff, quality services. Breakfast offered at a good price and selection. Close to Alexanderplatz and many forms of public transport are close by if you need to get around the city
My stay was great. I loved it.
Very close to everywhere nice connection to subways
I didn’t like the staff attitude, there’s so tough and very serious all the time but the location is great and the place is very clean
My first time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience, clean room, bathrooms. Very easy access to everything.
Not recommend
After smelling an extremely pungent urine smell from the showers and finding pubic hairs in my sheets within 15mins of check-in, me and my friend decided to find a different place. It's a budget alternative fitting for those not minding their living conditions much, but for me personally it was too much. The service was good and the staff friendly.
the location is good to go to places with easy access to many main transportation stations, bus, metro, other trains. But it’s also next to a major street so it is too loud for some people to sleep at night. Also no air conditioning in my room so not recommended if you need good quality sleep.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, I happened to stay in the hostel during a major heatwave and that was very rough because of no AC and lack of fans. The only other complaint is lack of hand soap in bathroom. That was very frustrating
When we first arrived, we discovered that although we paid for 3 people and an "extra person fee" (4 total) in a 4 person room, this "extra person fee" did not mean they would not rent the room to another party. We were told this is an Expedia issue and I had to pay an additional $65 to ensure we would not have other guests in our room. Additionally we were disappointed to learn after arriving that the club downstairs no longer existed. We had planned to utilize that amenity. Also were not aware there is NO AC what so ever and it was over 90 degrees , so you can imagine how uncomfortable it was in the rooms. All in all not a good stay and I would not recommend.
Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. However it was warm when I stayed and the lack of air conditioning made it very difficult to sleep as I was sweating a ton. If you plan on travelling during summer I’d recommend staying elsewhere.
Great Location
Just around the corner from Alexander Platz. Elevators, free city map, comfy beds, (make your own), towel hire for £2.50, bike hire for £12 per day, breakfast £7. Good lockers in the room. No Tv room or kitchen. Good mix of age group- not a party hostel. Great op shop opposite. Good chill out area with bar/cafe- (limited food). Very friendly staff- happy to get me boiling water so I could make my own coffee. Only thing I didn't like about the whole hostel were the showers- 2 rows of 4 showers with no doors- just a curtain but I would stay again.
Excelent service, friendly staff and wonderful dormitories. The breakfast however was just okay for the price. Totally recommended.
The door that gives acesse to the coredur on roms it is noisy
quicky
Check-in was quick and painless!!
cramped rooms, but no more than expected with a youth hostel. Great location by Alexanderplatz and easy access to U bahn
Just dont
Overall location is close to Alexanderplatz, which is very convenient for transportation, but not for anything cool. Rooms are clean and warm, but they charge an extra fee for literally everything, bar toilet paper.
Everything you would need
Nice clean stay, bathroom was nice and clean. Beds were ok, would recommend.
For the price and location this is a great place to stay especially if you use Flixbus or w a nt to stay in the Akexanderplarz area.
Maintenance Free
They don’t believe in maintenance here . Out of 4 toilet cubicles , 2 didn’t have doors , one had a door but no lock and one was ok .
The hostel was overall not what i had expected. The rooms were extremely hot due to no air conditioning and the room mates had smelly feet and body odors due to which i felt so sick, i had to leave the room. I checked out within 2 hours because all rooms would have been hot the same way. This hostel may be good in winter weather but not for summer. Otherwise the location was good and easily accesible.
Rude staff Suffocating rooms Noisy Dirty rooms / rest rooms Uncomfortable stay Highly not recommended
Overall good experience. However, room gets stuffy, poor ventilation.
Ideal location in the heart of Alexanderplatz. Very clean at all times with great lounge areas.
Convenience but a bit far from outside cafes.
Nice room, convenient bar on site since it other places to drink was too far to walk.
Amazing location, great staff, they have free tours, bar crawls, helpful staff, clean and updated bathrooms,Water pressure awesome, only issue-no air conditioning.but that is a european thing most hotels dont have air conditioning...they give fans with a 20$ deposit... Bunk beds are as u would expect... If ur looking for a hostel this is a great deal...
Very bad experience, but good building
It was a really great hostel, but the service wasn't that great. My sister and I were assigned the same bunk. She had the top bunk, I had the bottom. We had gone in and put our stuff in the lockers under the bed, but when I had come back someone had taken my bed and put all their stuff on it. I talked to staff, but they didn't seem to care and told me to deal with it or move it. I moved it as they said to stay with my sister, my locker, and to share the charging adapter. But since this is a big party hostel, I kept getting woken up by people coming in at late hours. Then eventually got screamed at 4am by the girl who had taken my bed before. She went down to the staff and I guess again they didn't care. She came back and loudly complained about me with her friends for a long time. The hostel isn't to blame for the girl, but they didn't care to resolve this issue. If you don't want to party till morning, don't expect to get sleep or don't book this hostel. Also the showers are completely open.
It was amazing. Staff very friendly/helpful. Will recommend to everyone
There's no air conditioning in the rooms and they get uncomfortably hot. Also, I've been staying at hostels for five weeks all over Europe and this place had the worst bathroom of anywhere I've stayed. There's four stalls, but two stalls don't have doors and one stall door doesn't lock/have a handle, and they have communal showers. The bed was comfortable and the staff were great but I'd say if you're traveling in the summer stay somewhere else.
Nice hostel. Really central with a good vibe. Stayed 4 nights here and really would recommend to a friend
Good stay for young people.
The hotel itself is okay. The quadruple room was extremely small, but clean. It’s noisy even inside the “sound proof” room. The breakfast wasn’t very good; not worth the money. It’s fine for young people, but most certainly not a place for families.
Decent Hostel
THE LOCATION IS PERFECT. IT IS VERY CLOSE TO THE CITY CENTER, SO THERE IS ALOT TO DO AROUND. THE ROOMS AND THE COMMON AREAS WERE CLEAN. THE STAFF HOWEVER WAS A BIT RUDE. I JUST IGNORED THE BEHAVIOR AS LONG AS I GOT WHAT I WANTED SO I AS ABLE TO ENJOY MY TIME THERE.
Great hostel
Great location close to Alexanderplatz. Nice rooms and staff. Only thing is the showers on 3rd floor are not individual so if you don't like showering around other girls make sure you book a room with a private bathroom.
Room was terribly warm... No air conditioning no ventilation was warmer in the room then outside.
nice staff! All very clean and organized
came with a group of girls. everyone was really helpful and nice. even though we made a mistake in our reservation Robert was really nice and help us figure out our best options! very clean and organize
Below all criticism
Below all criticism very bad stuff only thing that good there is the design of the lobby
Incredible attention to detail. Well managed. Helpful staff. Clean room and property. We would stay there again as a family.
Great!
This was one of the friendliest, cleanest hostels we've stayed in, and had a great location a short walk from Alexanderplatz station. Definitely worth the price we paid for the room and we had no major issues that are worth mentioning! The staff all spoke good English (saving us from our terrible German) and were quick to address all our needs.
I was living on the 3rd floor and on the 3rd floor among 4 toilets, 3 toilet's door was broken...you can't close the door...and the other toilet's flash was broken. So I need to go the ground floor reception and I used the common toilet. In the room there was locker but for the security, you need to bring a lock by yourself. There is no dress changing room or you can't even change your dress in the bathroom because it's like an open big bathroom for 6 people without any separation.
Group stay of 2 nights
We were a group of 14. We were given two private rooms. One slept 8 and the other 6. The whole group were each given a room key. The rooms were spacious and clean. For most of us it was our first stay in a hostel and we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort. Each bed has two lockers. The 8 bed dorm has a shower room with a curtain so the toilet and sink were still accessible to others. In addition we had a smaller room with a sink and toilet. Very impressed. Would 100% stay again. The hostel also has a small bar and offers breakfast. We took advantage of the free walking tour which left from the hostel at various times. Check in and out was surprisingly easy considering the size of our group.
Great place
It was great and centrally located but housekeeping doesn’t do a good job cleaning the room, they are so lazy and just clean around things, and don’t do a thorough job.
Basic Better Great Value For Money
Basic room but fantastic quality for the price. Hostel is clean and modern. Bunk beds comfortable. Be aware you have to collect your own linen and make your bed. Decent food and drink options in communal bar. For the price it is very good value. Location is a five minute walk away from the main train and tube lines in Berlin, so a good location
I like it this Hostel because is near Berlim city but they should be more demanding in the matter of noise at night. The guys drinks a lot and they are making a mess in the corredor and using drugs in the bathroom.
Interesting Hostel, Very Close to the center, Friendly staff
It was okay. It had a lot of college students just trying to get drunk in a foreign city. It felt more dorm like than other hostels I've stayed in. If you like that, then this is your place. I like to explore cities and crash at the hostel to sleep and head back out the next day. I'm less interested in getting as drunk as possible and throwing up in the shared bathroom (this occurred here twice of the two nights). For some reason my reservation was cancelled and I paid double at the counter. The staff was often rude. For instance a woman in front of me got a beer and used a card, I attempted to and the staff said no, that it was a €10/minimum - the sign clearly said €5.
It was good. The room was really smelly. My bed was kind of wet and later I found out another guy was sleeping on it (although there were no sheets when I got there).
Nice stay
We had a very nice stay, almost all of the staff are very nice and friendly. And they have a perfect area at the lobby for drinks.
Perfect place near Berlin’s Hot spots!
Very busy hostel very close to alexanderplatz. Check-in was a breeze, as we were luckily the only ones there. The reception staff were often busy tending bar. The room was nice, although the lockers were on the small side. We luckily only brought small bags. The bathrooms were on either end of the long hall, and the showers were locker room-style: no privacy. The laundry facilities and underground luggage lockers were very useful and operated well. There was also a pub-crawl representative giving coupons every night. We didn’t participate but it seemed like a good deal.
My stay at One80.
The hostel was really nice, clean, friendly people, food was nice and drinks were good. Location was good everything we needed was only a short walk away. Was away with a group of guys and they also feel the same about the hostel.
Better than normal hostel
Plug sockets by the bed is a bonus , don't forget to take a large padlock as they have odd lockers . The shower rooms are communial which wasn't a problem
Close to town center but smelly room
Room smelled awful, you have to do your Bed and pay for everything (shower gel, towel etc). Awful pub crawl at 12 euros but great central location.
Great Hostel Close to Alexanderplatz
This hostel is in a great location, has great room rates, and has super helpful staff.
Stayed here for my big brothers stag doo, perfect lovation for pubs, clubs and oktoberfest! Definitely would come back again!
Good location, ideal for exploring the city.gygygygygyg gygyggg gghygg
Safe hostel very close to public transportation
I booked a 4-bed mixed room at ONE180 one day before checking in for a three night stay. I'm so glad I booked there because it definitely met all of my needs. The wifi was fast and accessible everywhere in the hostel that I went. The bed was comfortable and I LOVED the outlets right by my bed with my own personal light. Bed wasn't uncomfortable and linens smelled good. There was ample storage space for everyone's things. The shower was large and the bathroom was well lit and offered a full-size hair dryer (what a blessing, honestly). The only issue in the room that one of the storage lockers smelled strongly of urine...however the hostel staff helped us move rooms once we mentioned how awful it was. I do wish there was an option for early check in as there was for late check out. However, waiting in the lobby area was fine as it was comfy and wifi was great there, too. Also, during shift changeover, one of the employees was very upset that people kept approaching him at the reception desk for questions and eventually got rude with his responses. It wasn't the fault of the guests that they did not know it was shift changeover. An easy fix to this would be for reception to put up signs that they are currently busy and people won't distract them. Overall, I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Berlin and will recommend it to friends!!!
Nice hostal close to the train station
Close to the train, bus, and metro stations. Food and beverages are nearby but you can get them at the hostel too. Great stay definitely I would stay here again.
Everything at the hostel was very good. Except reception, its like they were always short staffed or very busy but nearly every time i went to ask for help it would be hard to get. Other than that it was good
Morning staff was great, evening staff not so much.
The staff was terrible.
Good hostel in a good location
Overall a good place to stay. Really comfortable beds. Clean and light room. Just one thing - as the doors to the rooms are quite heavy, perhaps the hostel could ask guests to close them quietly. Slamming doors late at night causes disturbance.
