Comfortable property close enough to a few interesting sights. However, the mattresses on the bed were incredibly hard and the rooms were quite bare in terms of ammenities. Comfortable enough for the night we stayed

Conveniently located and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are very basic, the air-conditioning is quite noisy and the mattress is a bit too firm. The swimming pool is decently sized but there isn't enough space or sun beds for an acceptable number of guests. Also the sun beds are very close to the pool so when water splashes they get wet.

We enjoyed our stay during Songkran. Location worked out well, rooms were comfy, clean and quiet. Pool towels, coffee and glasses/cups would have been an asset in our rooms.

Pool are could have been bigger and loungers placed so you don’t get wet .

The staff were friendly and location was good. We had some issues figuring out how to get the hot water working, but it wasn't so bad that it was inconvenient. Basic facilities.

amazing, perfect for backpackers

Drinking water system is not environmentally friendly ( giving everyone two plastic bottles a day) . It could be easily solved by a couple of modern hot and cold water dispensers and make guests use their own bottles. This would also solve the issue of one small kettle for the whole hotel ( there are no kettles in the rooms).

Great value proposition given the pool and nice rooms. Very helpful staff. My first room smelled very strongly of some kind of cleaner, disinfectant or possibly even insecticide. Second room was very nice upper floor and newer with no smell. The pool guy dumped concentrated bleach into the pool while I was swimming which I thought was probably not a safe thing. There was some pool rowdiness one evening not obviously stopped by staff but a kid screaming in the middle of the night was acted on.

Had a very lovely time! Perfect location, couldn’t get more central if you tried! Lovely pool, decent breakfast offering and well priced. Bathroom could’ve been a little cleaner

Nice hotel in a great location

The hotel was clean, well maintained and in a great location. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Would definitely recommend to others. The only downside was a slightly hard mattress, and the (optional) breakfast options which were not as good as some other options for breakfast in the area.

Everything you could want

Chern hostel is very conveniently located, everything is within a walking distance. The room has everything what you need but nothing to write home about. The property is a bit tired and needs updating. We booked several rooms and rooms on the 3rd floor smelled of drains. Pool area was surprisingly excellent. It is a great value for money however, it is not a comfortable holiday hotel.

Excellent Hostel in the heart of Bangkok's oldtown, the beds were spacious, and linens were very clean and new, and the AC worked great.

Clean property in quiet area, great place to catch up on sleep after a day of traveling. Staff was helpful and spoke English.

Price of the standard double room and double room is different but the facilities is same. Felt like cheated. I stayed there 3nights but the next day only change the towel, refill mineral water, throw rubbish. The bedsheet did not change for three nights!

The lobby/restaurant area was stylish and comfortable. I stayed in a double-bed room and it was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The room had a safe, TV, hairdryer, and an enclosed shower that doesn't get the rest of the bathroom wet.

Budget hostel, clean, rooms and facilities ok, pleasent for short stay, close to main tourist attractions.

I had a very nice stay at Chern hostel, it was quiet and clean and staff were very helpful! If you are looking for a party hostel to meet people I would say choose somewhere else but if you want a quiet one to just chill at then it's great! It had great air con and shower gel and shampoo! Bring a spare card with you so that you can keep the air con going when you leave as it requires a room card! Staff helped me to organise a taxi for my flight as it was very early morning and assisted me with everything I needed! Brilliant hostel

The private rooms are comfortable and with A/C. The location of the hostel is very good. Walk distance to the major attractions and street food just at the corner. The taxi from the airport cost around 400 Bath (12 dollars with tolls). If you don't want something fancy just stay here, is economic and very ok for the price.

Great location, friendly staff

My room was on the 4th floor. Initially, I was checked into a room with a safe that was not bolted down, so I could literally pick up the unattached safe. I requested a change, and I was moved to a room with a safe that was bolted down. The AC was great. They were great about providing a map of Bangkok, but the hotel is not associated with any tour operators. On the bright side, their focus is on the hotel, but it would be nice if they could at least recommend a guide or tour operator. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet alley. The quiet is nice is a big, noisy city, but it also makes it somewhat difficult to find. One of my Grab motorbike driver's Google Maps wasn't working, and we literally followed a tuk-tuk to the Chern Hotel because it is not easy to find. With Google Maps, none of my other taxi or Grab drivers had any problem. The AC worked well in the room, and it had hot water in the shower. Two big pluses. Just take the Airport Rail Link to Prayatai station (dirt cheap), and it was only 156 THB ($4.72 USD) for a Grab taxi from Prayatai station to Chern Hotel. If you don't have a big suitcase, save money by taking a Grab motorbike from the train station to the hotel.

Very friendly staff who were happy to help and booked an airport taxi. Room was excellent - the hostel name is misleading as for a private double it was as good as any hotel - very big room/bed/bathroom, clean, air conditioned and useful safe.

Creepy

I got creeped out by one of the staff members throughout my stay.

Good front desk staff, very helpful. Dinning area and food given could be improved upon.

The room had a bad smell of strong soap. Not a very convenient area.

Okay Stay

The hostel was certainly nice (good breakfast, AC, nice rooms/common space), although our room constantly smelled like sewerage and we were unable to connect to the WiFi.

cemtral locale temples clean affordable beauty

stayed 2Xs in 2018 once with family of 4 in a 2 double bed room. returned for a night by myself in a single room. great on the budget. so comfy and clean great friendly staff. Coin laundry available and breakfast with coffee if you should want but many local food sellers nearby

value for money

despite the neighborhood - some old buildings- the hostel is quite good and very close to all the touristic locations. They clean every day and change the towels as well. You will find a 7/11 market 2 min form hostel . Good AC.

Great hotel

Great concept hotel. Super amenities and very comfortable rooms. Very good location and quiet area.

Everything was pretty good except one problem, very big at least for me. The bathroom smells, it's very clean but seems to have some problem with pipes.

Nice Location, not the cleanest.

The Hostel staff was very helpful. There is security outside 24/7 as an added bonus. The Room was decent- our outside sheet was stained when we arrived and housekeeping was not completed until the following evening. We did not have warm water when we showered and the drain was constantly clogged. Wifi was ok- you have to continuously sign in and it bumps you off after a while. It's less than a 10 minute Walk to Ko San which was pretty convenient and for the price you're paying, you could do much worse.

Everything in the room is pretty new, clean and works but the toilet has a sewer smell, seems to be a problem with the pipes, not a cleaning problem. Breakfast is alright but nothing special.

The place is cool looking, very clean and the staff is helpfull. But I think they have a problem with the pipes because a bad swery smell always comes from the restroom.

Amazing

Great location, central to everything few minutes walk to Khao San Road and temples. It’s more like a hotel then a hostel. Great value for money.

A Boutique Hostel

For a "hostel" it was pretty high-class. There was an absence of unwashed backpackers. A variety of rooms including those with their own on-suite facilities (we chose the "deluxe" room which was the most "expensive" at THB 1.320. All good (decent towels) although the toilet hose (I love these) had very low pressure and one had to use the toilet paper. TV had few choices but if you are Chinese (it is after all in China Town) and of course Thai the choices were okay.No breakfast was included although you could pay for the hostel breakfast - it looked okay but many, many better choices close by - but a pretty comfortable place in the extended lobby to have a drink.

Amazing Hostel - hotel quality

We stayed in one of their private rooms and it was nicer than other hotels that we stayed st, very clean, lots of security. The only downside it that it's a little tricky to find, it's a turn down a little road but it's definitely worth the search.

Quiet,comfy and central!

Great place :) modern, clean and comfy! I stayed in a private room with two single beds and an own bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful. Only the location wasn't the best for us. It is only 15 min away from the Khao San Road, but that can be a long way after a partynight ;) Chinatown and the main temples are in walking distance, if you don't mind to walk more then 15 min. It is very quiet and you'll find nice little local street food, a great rooftop bar and a cute French bakery!

Good Cheap Breakfast - Beer Vending Maching

Good location short tuk tuk or taxi ride Chatuchak Market and some awesome Wots!

Solid. Can't really complain...

...but it's missing a certain je ne sais quoi. Chern Hostel is a comfortable place to sleep in Bangkok. Set on a charming alley, the location is okay. Expect public transport to be inconvenient and taxi and Uber drivers to have difficulty finding finding you. If you walk out at night, do not be put off by people sleeping on the surrounding streets because it is an otherwise safe area. The streets are well-lit with many security-laden government buildings. You will love taxiing home, after a long day of exploring the city, passing the dramatically lit traffic circle and it's swing centerpiece, the romantic temple roofs, and historic structure that are all footsteps from the hotel. Our room was clean and the air con worked well enough. Limited toiletries were provided, but you'll probably bring your own like we did. The safe and hair dryer were a nice feature. The internet worked well enough for me to take some video calls. We'll probably look for another place to stay in Bangkok on our next visit because we think we could get more value for the money elsewhere, but I would recommend Chern if you don't want to fuss about deciding between the thousands of options in Bangkok and want to be close to the center of the historic, royal section of the city.

clean and good location

Chern Hostel was clean and in a good location. Enjoyed the breakfast options and loved the self serve laundry. The reception staff was nice, but not very helpful. Wifi was just ok. We would stay here again.

A great place to stay

A great place to stay for our first three nights in Thailand. Staff were helpful and kind, looking after our backpacks prior and after check in and check out. The room was cool with air conditioning, quiet and spacious with a safe for storing important belongings. We would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous hostel and amazing value

I was hesitant about staying at a hostel this cheap but did so as a friend had booked the place too. But I was impressed from the second I arrived. The hostel is very clean and pretty. Strongly recommended. I stayed in the mix dorms and met very friendly travelers from far away, as an added experience.

Chern hostel was not bad,stated for 3 nights.the location was neither here nor there. You still had to walk Everywhere which can really add up when bargaining with tuk tuk drivers.atleast 15 min walk to khaosan or golden mountain. The service was great.quick check in.the room was alright until you went into the bathroom with mould in the shower and just general scum that it needs a good clean. The bed was extremely firm!a/c nice and cold.anyone going in or out of their rooms could be heard and there was a constant noise all night of pipes running and washing machines? However i did pay about 32$au a night so you cant really complain.still quieter then khaosan rd. If you want your shower hot then u get no pressure. Really annoying not having a kettle in the room. They only did a clean up on the first day.

What a hostel should be like

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed at. So clean, so nice, so friendly. Unlike a hostel and more like a hotel. Great all around!

Chern Stay

Everything was great, staff was super nice, rooms were really nice. Two things that I did not like; tv channels were awful and the shower screen was a little short, I felt bad because water would always splash on the bathroom floor. Otherwise great place to stay in a great location.

Sound choice

This hostel looked just like the pictures and was well located for our stay in Bangkok. The staff were always friendly but weren't really able to provide us with any useful advice or tips on where to eat etc when asked. We had no trouble walking to Koh San Road for dinner. Something that we learnt was that tuk tuks were very expensive as the taxis have set rates based on the distance travelled which makes them very reasonable. We were happy to walk around though and found it possible to get to the main sites on foot from the hostel. Would recommend and stay again if we wanted to be in this area in Bangkok.

Would definitely go back

Great hostel, more like a hotel really. Ideally placed for the grand palace and ko San road areas without being in the thick of the tourist action. Quiet, clean and really helpful staff

Solid, good value

Stayed in a private double room. It was clean and checked all the important boxes like enough surfaces for your things and hot water in the shower, plus a nice big bed! The staff was helpful and friendly.

New, clean, and beauty hotel

The Hotel is very new and clean. The (double) bed looks so big. The room is comfort but no wardrobe. Only small issues i.e no elevator here and TV channels are blurry.

Nice hotel in Old Bangkok

This is a very good hotel if you are looking for accesible comfort. It's very clean and comfortable. It is walking distance from most attractions in old Bangkok, however BKK is very hot so we ended up taking taxis because the distances were not that close walking under the heat. The are where the hotel is located is very calm, which we appreciated. The hotel is also located near many good restaurants, which was very good. The only downside I found was that the food they sold at the restaurant was too expensive and the portions too small. Aside from that, I loved it.

Big, clean and quiet

I stayed here for 3 days as I wanted to check out Khao San road. It's about a 15 minute walk from there which is a good thing if you like your peace and quiet or frustrating if you don't like walking 15 minutes in the sweaty heat. Anyway, the staff we're very friendly and helpful which was good. Although it felt like they were only being nice because they were paid to do so, it didn't feel genuine. I got a private room which was pretty big surprisingly. The whole hotel and room had an arty, minimalistic, modern feel to it which was nice. The room was on the 3rd floor which was a pain as they don't have an elevator. I had a nice view of well, nothing but an ugly old building. Don't expect nice views here. The bed was clean although the mattress was hard. The lamps next to the bed we're broken which was quite annoying. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The fan in the bathroom rattled like crazy which was annoying. Overall, I liked this hotel/hostel as it had this sense of serenity and quietness in a busy neighbourhood. It was close to a ton of interesting temples. Perfect if you need to take some time out of your busy holiday and relax.

La ubicación está muy bien para ir caminando a algunos sitios turísticos, es una zona tranquila y silenciosa y tiene un seven eleven cerca. La habitación es amplia y cómoda para 3 personas. Se pueden dejar las maletas en la recepción tanto al llegar como al salir. No tuvimos oportunidad de usar la piscina pero se veía muy bien. Ofrecen desayuno a la carta pero no lo pudimos probar. El servicio no fue muy bueno pero en general lo recomiendo tanto para estancia larga como corta.

Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu Fuß erreichbar, angenehme Atmosphäre, freundliches Personal, sehr sauber. Sehr zu empfehlen

Bien que l’hôtel soit bien situé pour avoir accès au différents site à visiter, les transports en commun (autobus) sont toujours en retard et prennent plus de temps que la marche pour vous rendre ou vous voulez aller et le prix des tuk tuk sont complètement imprévisible. Pour le petit déjeuner vous avez un choix limité

Bra hotell til billig penge

Helt ordinert hotel veldig sentralt i Bangkok, nært til grand palace og The great swing. Hyggelig betjening. Fint basseng i bakgården. Litt lite utvalg på frokost. Litt slitt bad. Til prisen er det veldig fint, det du trenger for et par netter i Bangkok .

Bom atendimento. Boa localização. Piscina excelente.

Near everything, the pool is a must!

La struttura si trovava in una zona molto comoda e tranquilla per visitare i principali punti di interesse della città e a 10 minuti dall'hotel si trovava una fermata della metro che abbiamo usato per raggiungere delle zone un po' più fuori mano come l'aeroporto e China Town. La struttura è ben tenuta e dispone anche di una piscina e una zona lavanderia, le camere sono spaziose e pulite, da rivedere un attimo le asciugamani dato che alcune erano vistosamente macchiate. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

El hotel esta muy bien situado para ir a la zona antigua de los templos y esta cerca del metro pero no del skytrain. Le falta mas iluminacion en la habitacion, todo el resto correcto, hotel modesto pero limpio

Everything’s great and as expected

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt. Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen und es ist etwas hellhörig, aber für einen Städtetrip, bei dem man sich eh nicht viel im Hotel aufhält, ust es in Ordnung. Service und Personal ist super und alle sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool ist ein Pluspunkt, die Lage ist auch sehr gut, um einige Tempel oder auch die Khao San Road fußläufig zu erreichen. Alles in allem kann ich das Hotel weiterempfehlen.

Sah auf den Fotos besser aus als in der Realität. Eingangsbereich und Lobby sehr hübsch. Frühstück bestellbar und ganz gut.

Klimaanlage ein Problem, sonst ok

Leider kam die Klimaanlage nicht mit der Hitze klar, tropfte nach 15min unablässig. Zudem ist das Gegenstück was sich normalerweise ausserhalb befindet im Raum, machte einen riesen Lärm und die Abluft war nicht gut, so dass das Zimmer eher geheizt wurde. Fazit ohne Klima ruhig aber zu heiss. Sonst funktional einfach.

저렴하게 자긴 좋아요. 무조건 택시타야해요. 왕궁이나 카오산은 걸어서 가능하지만 나머진 무조건 택시에요. 화장실 물은 떠뤄워쏘 제가 필터쌰워기 사서 갓는데 으..더러워요.. 나머지는 좋았어요. 매일 카오산 가실 분들은 좋아요.
