Parking was very expensive, property was in great location but not in good condition. The door lock was broken, the place smelled bad. Staff were friendly.
Good location, just ok service
The location is great very near the Duomo and great museums. It does not have a front desk so if you don’t have their phone number handy or data it can be a challenge to get in. I only found out there as they did not contact me via hotels.com to let me know. We did not get our rooms cleaned for 2 days in a row out of 5 and we were not told. I think there was a holiday. The room was nice but it needs a bit of maintenance as bathroom shower was leaking and wasting water. It’s ok but it could be better. Then the breakfast is in a bar 50 meters away, it’s basic, just a pastry and a hot drink and the service is not very friendly as if they do not like getting people with breakfast vouchers. So we needed up going elsewhere and paying for our own breakfast.
This is a challenging one to review. You cannot beat the location and old world charm of this place. The small balcony was perfect for enjoying a nightcap. However, my first impression of the old dark stairwell and going through the office to reach the room were unexpected. The shower leaked (inside shower), the door fell off and backed-up immediately. Upon further inspection, the room was clean, but a white duvet would have gone a long way in giving the impression of cleanliness. Overall, we would stay again with managed expectations.
Your location is perfect, nice neighborhood, lots of good restaurants around. Near the train station. And very close to the center, everything is walkable. Free breakfast is good and convenient. I’m glad it’s not inside your place. It’s a cute little restaurant beside it and servers are nice! May have couple of issues in regards to the place itself. Once you enter the building, it’s disgusting because it’s dark and smells really bad. Not your fault per Gonzalo the receptionist person, it’s a problem and the city won’t do anything. But maybe you can make the entrance hallway bright and cleaner. The room has no luggage rack or at least desk or a table were you can put your luggage. The bathroom needs a table our a shelf were you can put your toiletries. The shelf by the bidet and toilet bowl is unsanitary and gross. The vanity mirrors light is not working. The switch is need to be replaced. It’s super gross too. The closet has 3 useless hangers. I open the closet once and I never opened again for 3 nights. It’s disgusting. Please add a hanger rod with decent hangers, luggage rack and a toiletries holder. This will make you place convenient to stay and will Make you gust happy. If those missing amenities will be added then I’ll Give you place 4 star.
Breakfast was sufficient.
A/C didn’t work, TV didn’t work. Decent location but no help from staff when asked.
Smell of sewage
It is well located and the breakfast was included. The room was not very clean when we arrived.
I felt like I traveled in time being in this room. It screams Florence! Highly recommend. Host was wonderful also. Clean!
Excellent location Beautiful room Great host
Big room - close to all attractions
Our room absolutely had bed bugs. Room was poorly cleaned from the previous guests, I found multiple pieces of trash from a previous guest including a pack of cigs and plastic cutlery. Room was nice but again, bed bugs.
Check in can be a nightmare. Make sure you communicate with them of your arrival time because no one is there otherwise. We weren’t aware of this and even though they had reached out to us we were already out of the country and in flight and never got their message. So when we arrived no one was here to let us in and the number given to us and posted outside didn’t work! We felt stranded! Luckily there was a maintenance guy there who was able to help us and call owner. The location is good. Just steps away from the duomo. There’s a great restaurant right across the street. And the breakfast included at the cafe down the street is nice. But the street is busy. If you have one of the rooms on the street side it gets noisy! If you’re a light sleeper absolutely do not sleep here! The walls are extremely thin. You hear everyone coming and going and all the kids in the streets late at night walking home screaming, singing, laughing, as well as every single car, bike and bus that goes by. The room was clean but rustic. A few things weren’t working but the host was quick to help. There is barely any hot water for your shower in the morning. My side of the bed was very comfortable but my husbands side of the bed I think was broken because it squeaked every time he moved. We were here for 5 nights and no one came to freshen up our towels, clean our room or make our bed. Which I guess was fine, although 5 nights is a long time to go without a cleaning.
FALSE ADVERTISING. DO NOT STAY HERE
Description of "hotel" listed daily housekeeping, laundry services, breakfast included, 37" plasma TV, refrigerator, room service, view of a garden, non-smoking, free bottled water. IT HAS NONE OF THESE THINGS! This isn't a hotel. It is an Airbnb. The host, Gonzalo, was there to check us in but was never seen again. He answered our text about the wifi password, but never responded to any further texts. We had to refill our toilet paper ourselves during the stay. The view was of a small courtyard with a tree and a view of cigarette butts tossed onto a ledge below from prior "non-smoking" occupants. The bathroom in our Standard Double room was microscopic and is nothing like the spacious rooms featured in the pictures on the website. The shower head was broken. The entire room itself measured 10'x13'. The sewer smell in the stairwell seems to be a constant based on other reviews from prior years. We will be filing for a refund from our credit card.
Cavour10 was a traumatizing experience. Walking into the building and it was dark, dirty and smelled of sewerage. We entered our room. The large window was wide open. Little did we know that we would have to kill at least 10 mosquitoes that night. My arm had many bites. A telephone wire was on the floor and across the threshold going into the room, the sheet had a blood stain, and the blanket was stained. There was no room service for our 5 day stay. New towels were dropped off once but the wet towels were not taken away. There was no place to even hang the towels. I left a bag of wet towels and a bag of garbage in the lobby area under the desk. The bathroom was like a closet. We had to ask Gonzalo for soap, shampoo and a garbage pale. There was no soap dish in the tiny shower. We had to either drop it on the floor or open the shower door and throw it in the sink. The cover on the toilet flusher was missing. The wall paper was dirty and stained. I texted Gonzalo the morning after our first night and asked if there was another room. He texted back 7 hours later and said he had to ask the owner. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I HEARD FROM HIM FOR 4 MORE DAYS. DO NOT STAY IN CAVOUR 10 no matter what other reviews say.
The room was beautifully decorated. The building itself, much like many accommodation options in Florence, is old. However, Cavour 10 has done a great job trying to maintain the authentic and historical design of the buildings decorations- providing rooms filled with gorgeous tiles, painted ceilings, and decorative wallpaper. While to some this may feel 'dirty' because it is 'old', as seen in other reviews, the room itself is actually very clean and stylish. The caretaker is also absolutely lovely and so willing to accommodate your needs! The location is also a huge plus- you can easily walk to all of the major sites from this location!
The room was nice but 2 outlets were not working so cannot charge the phone and computer. The bathroom and the room has no garbage can. The toilet was dirty in the bottom. The toiletries and soap ledge was very rusty. It wasn’t quiet like said. There’s a lot of yelling from outside my window even at 2am. Had a hard time sleeping.
Great location, able to walk to most points of interest. A bit of a hike from the Train Station, especially with luggage. The air conditioning unit did not work well and the bathroom did not smell very clean.
The room was comfortable enough. The area was close to everything. There was a terrible smell from likely downstairs work. Breakfast at the local bistro was adequate. Host was difficult to communicate with.
Disappointed and downgraded
We must have just been really unlucky here as I read so many positive things about This b&b, however for me it is by far the most disappointed I’ve ever felt about an accommodation. The main reason for this was I booked and paid for the largest nicest family sized Room with balcony as it was my husbands birthday present, this is confirmed on my confirmation from hotels.com. We were instead given the smallest back room with a sliver of a window which was considerably cheaper both when I booked and if You look at other dates. I questioned this a few times and was given various excuses, and told I didn’t need the big room anyway as we weren’t a family and how they cost the same so what was The problem. I assume what happened is a family booked for a longer period and They didn’t want to lose that booking so downgraded us in their favour, which would have been fine had it been explained before and the difference refunded. Was so disappointed and angry at the excuses it ruined our trip. Also we waited 40 minutes in the street to check in after being told to come back for 2pm after dropping our bags off, no answer to the doorbell, several phone calls and finally an email. Building work going on outside our small back room which woke us up on Saturday morning, which can’t be helped but also added to my regret at booking this place. A good location and very clean, again I guess we were just unlucky as so many good reviews, but it was an extremely poor experience for us.
Nice place, close to the Duomo. They were supposed to take out the extra bed (rollaway) because there were only 2 of us, but they never did, consequently the room was cramped. Otherwise is was a good place to stay.
Decrepit dirty room
When we arrived, after 14 hours of travelling, nobody answered the buzzer and we had to wait on the street with our bags in the rain for almost an hour. Finally, a local store owner agreed to use his phone to call the owner and we were let in. What a disappointment. The location is good, but the room was decrepit, with peeling paint on the paper thin walls. We could hear children crying in our room. The bedspread was dirty and we saw a bug scurrying in the bathroom. When we tried to leave, we realized that we were locked in as the person who showed us the unit did not show us how to exit (there are 4 doors/gates that need to be unlocked in various ways). Finally someone returned with breakfast vouchers for a diner across the street (this is how breakfast is included in the reservation), and let us out of the unit. We left without sleeping here, and forfeited a 4 night stay. They refused to refund any of the money. If you can stay anywhere else, I would highly suggest you pick somewhere else to stay. I don't know where the lovely pink room in the picture is located, or when that picture was taken, but our room was nothing like that.
PLEASE READ!!!
Do not stay here. The stench of sewer in the stairwell to the location made me nauseous. There is no lift and we had to carry our luggage upstairs. The location said it was non smoking but inside the B.B. had a strong stench of stale cigarettes. I can not tolerate the smell of smoke. The room was dirty as you can see from my pictures. We had to ask for clean bedding. We put our used towels on the floor and instead of giving us new ones, they just hung them back up to dry! They said they did not have any extra but did order some more. The biggest disappointment was they said our room did not include breakfast. What is a B.B. without breakfast? If that wasn’t enough, the electricity went out and the stairwell was pitch black. We had to use our phones to see. Even when the electricity was on, the lights would flicker. Pay a few more dollars and stay somewhere else......
Excellent
I stayed for 1 night in this charming hotel and I had an excellent experience. The room looks great and it is very spacious and the location is fabulous, very easy to walk around. I forgot some clothes in the robe and Ilaria (the person responsible for the guest house) was extremely helpful shipping them to me. I really appreciate her doing this and I definitely recommend this place.
Great location to discover florence
The lobby needs to be cleaned.
Guido (the owner) was extremely friendly and helpful. I asked for a bottle of wine to be waiting on our arrival since we celebrating our 30th anniversary and he had one waiting for us. We had the room with the terrace which was a really nice touch. We would definitely stay again. The only complaint is that it was tough for the air conditioning to cool the room, however it was in the upper 90's. The location was a block and a half from the Baptistery.
Amazing
Situated in the centre of Florence just a few meters from the Dome, this is the perfect place to stay while in this beautiful city. The owner Guido was very friendly and he helped us with everything we needed. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated in florentine style and it had a nice balcony from where we were able to see the city. We will definitely again here again!
5+stars! Absolutely WONDERFUL!!
This B&B is my favorite by far! The host Guido, was perfect!! Warm, welcoming, clean, always available and went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying our stay and time in Florence! He had a map, gave us orientation to the city, cards for dinner, made dinner reservations and called taxis when we needed them! Room cleaned daily! Mini bar and waters available, full breakfast was provided by the cafe and in room service on a cute cart was given to us as well. We had tea, snacks and coffee. Comfortable king size bed. I will miss our stay there. Perfect location to all the top sites.
Cavour 10
Perfect location, it takes less than 5 min to get to Duomo. The host, Guido, was aldo very kind and was happy to help us.
It was fantastic stay with central location....
Just in the center!
This hotel is a real gem!!!. The atmosphere is unforgetable. Yes, its true, the hotel is not new, but the spirit of the old Florence is in every detail, impossible to explain, you need to feel this. I will even don't say about the Santa Maria del Fiore, which located really 150 meters from the hotel. If you will arrive by car, you can park your car on the next street in garage. Its really not a problem. The owner of the hotel Guido will book a parking space for you with pleasure. About Guido I need to tell more))) He is real gentleman, always with a smile and ready to explain and show everything, and answer all your questions. In modern times it's not so easy to meet really interesting person. He likes Florence and he will teach you how to like Florence too. The Florence is around and inside him))) Highly recommend to visit!!!)))
Nice Room, Good Location
I liked this Bed and breakfast. It was located at a very good place near sightseeing attractions. The owner was kind and courteous. The only problem was that; (a) it was advertised with breakfast in the room, that was not the case (we were given a voucher to use a nearby small restaurants which was not really good), and (b) the bathroom was not very clean. All said and done, I will use this place again.
Great location in Florence, 15min walk to central
The room is right on the street, very noisey at night, didn't get a lot of sleep. The owner very pleasant and helpful.
5* Recommendation
I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to friends and family. It was a pleasure to meet Guido - he provides recommendations and goes out of his way to make sure any queries are answered. The best B&B I have ever stayed in at a competitive cost. The room itself was gorgeous - as impressive as the architecture outside! A great location to explore the city and make connections to the train station. No issues with this booking and would happily use again.
Lovely B&B in the town centre & very charming host
Thank you to lovely Guido, who couldn't have been a more charming host, wonderful welcome, he helped lug my bags, organised for the car to be parked, recommended the best gelato and restaurant, was full of warmth and loveliness - absolutely amazing, it was like staying with family! He was very relaxed about check in and out times, nothing was a problem, everything beautifully set up and organised. Location super central and walking distance to everywhere central. The only downside for me personally was the very noisy street the room looks out on. I was woken about 4 times in the night by various emergency vehicles blasting their horns down the street, despite earplugs and white noise from the air con.
Beautiful place to stay & great location!
The room and atmosphere was amazing-the room itself and huge bathroom were immaculate and made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Guido was so incredibly kind and such a gracious host-he made my mother and I feel right at home. He was available for any questions and was very attentive to our needs. I look forward to returning to Florence and staying here again-could not ask for any better accommodations!
Amazing service, location, and accomodation
Guido was hands down an amazing host. He was very patient and helpful. If you need any suggestions on food or how-to-get around just ask him. The room was great. The location was perfect- just a few steps from the Duomo. I would no-doubt return here when visiting Florence again. And to put a cherry-on-top, breakfast was included in our booking :) A definite place to stay when visiting Florence!
Our stay was made even nicer by Guido, the hotel proprietor. He was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. He even left us fresh strawberries in our room that he had purchased that morning in the market. If we had any questions, Guido was quick to help out in any way he could. After our departure he contacted me by email telling me that I had left a shirt in the closet and asked for instructions as to where he could send it back to me. A second email from him stated when he sent it and approximately when I could expect to receive it!!! Grazie mille, Guido. We would stay here again when in Florence and would recommend it to anyone else.
Nice B&B style room
Very nice B&B style room that was clean, elegant, and much larger than most rooms rooms we encountered during our trip to Italy. Guido the owner of these rooms was friendly, courteous, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay in Florence was fantastic. I would recommend this room to everyone!
Nice central place to stay and good value.
We enjoyed our stay, the concierge is great, a very helpful man
Beautiful room in convenient location
Guido, the owner is so kind and helpful. The room is gorgeous!! The only problem was the street noise. The hotel is super convenient. Breakfast is in a little coffee shop down the street.
Will recommend to every single friend
For those of you thinking about going to Florence please do check out B&B Cavour 10! This B&B enjoys a central location right next to the St. Mary's Cathedral of Flowers; Uffizi museum and the Arno river is also only three blocks away. When you check yourself in into one of the three lovely decorated, spacious rooms of Cavour 10( book early!), you will be stone throw away from all the artistic and architectural masterpieces. Amenities in the rooms are very generous, reasonably priced local eateries are within walk distance as well. BUT what makes your Firenze experience unforgettable is the welcoming, thoughtful host of this property, Guido. Signor Guido is always available, trying to make things work in the most convenient way for guests, he even went to the train station with me when I headed for Rome in an afternoon when there was a taxi driver strike. Guido's joyful personality is such a gift that you will definitely love beginning your day in Florence when Guido knocks on the door bringing you freshly made breakfast with fruit, yogurt, croissant, an omelette and of course, very good coffee! I don't think I can recommend Cavour 10 enough, go visit and you will know what I am taking about!
Close to Florence historic attractions
What a beautiful, comfortable room with a great location! Our host was very helpful and recommended great places to dine. Breakfast was included and was a treat everyday!
Lovely room with great location
Beautiful room full of old world elegance. Substantial and delicious breakfast delivered by the very personable Guido. Would stay again. Recommend you visit San Miniato across the Arno, a gorgeous church with a hilltop view of Florence
Our favorite place to stay in Florence!
If you're looking for a convenient place to rest your head while taking in the great sites and sounds of Florence, this is your place. Not only was the room beautifully decorated, clean and roomy – Guido, the owner, will give you recommendations and best ways to maneuver the city if you're new to the area. This bed and breakfast was super close to all of the major attractions by foot and serves a killer breakfast in the morning complete with coffee, juice, egg dish, pastries and more. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else while in Florence!
Beautiful Florence
The manager of this hotel signor Guido was the most gracious host. He booked museum tickets for me and advise places to visit, all done effortlessly. He advised me and booked for me restaurants that served beautiful Italian food (if not for the booking I would not have got a table). Since my return home friends have asked "what was the highlight of my trip". The answer is Florence, signor Guido helped make it the highlight.
Great Little Hotel
Two blocks from the center of town. Only 3 rooms total. Our room was the best and absolutely fabulous for the price. Super service and a very nice breakfast brought to the room.
Florence Vacation
The room is very comfortable and Large for a B&B in Europe. We stayed in the blue room and everything we needed was available for us in the room. The owner Guido is Fantastic! He is very courteous and helpful. When he found out it was my husband and my birthday he brought us a tray with Champagne, 2 champagne classes and a Birthday Card! So thoughtful of him to do that. The location is perfect. Very close to the Duomo and a 10min walk to the train station. There are so many restaurants within walking distance.
Close to attractions.
Great host. Close to everything.

Beautiful room and building, free breakfast down the street, very charming
