Great hotel in super location
Great location, friendly staff and super facilities made this a perfect place for a Barbados holiday. Huge beach, plenty of loungers, and a lovely pool. The all inclusive package worked well, and included the lovely coffee shop as well as the ice cream shop
the hotel is now closed for renovation, I hope they don't lose the charm of the building and that the staff are retained as they were all lovely, friendly and helpful. The location right on the beach is perfect for a relaxing holiday and we generally enjoyed the food the gardens around the hotel are lovely and the pools are perfect to cool off I'll be interested to see how it looks after the refurbishment
The overall experience at Turtle Beach by Elegant Hotels was perfect! Friendly staff and amazing food choices.
The resort was okay however slowly deteriorating. Some staff members were friendly and some were not. The food was decent but the pool area was too small. They did not have a swim up bar either. The hotel is shutting down in May and being renovating.
Where do i begin? The food options for vegans were minimal. Was provided with a special request form for dinner. Did not treceive what they suggested on the request form. This happened twice. The beach was great no complaints. The grounds are well kept. Some of the staff were supberb with their service. Entertainment is lacking. Sitting by the pool there’s no music, just silence. We were excited for this trip however I have never been on vacation and was in a hurry to get home. Very disappointed with Turtle Beach. I was told they will be renovating in February, if that is the case, they should have offered a big discounts to any parties booking a reservation at this Location. This was my husband's first time visiting Barbados and definitely not a good experience for him.
Good.
I have stayed at this property for more than 4 times and the staff, food, and drinks are great. The property can use some upgrading. The elevators were out of service our entire 5 day stay. Otherwise, I highly recommend this venue. It is also close by other venues.
We loved the location, it’s a smaller resort which is nice. Quiet at night. Food was very good and staff was pleasant and efficient. Loved the 2 pool options as well. We plan on returning in 2027 after the year long renovations are complete.
There was daily construction around the property makingbit very difficult to relax.
Great family resort
everything was enjoyable
It may be in the middle of a buy out. Not your typical Marriott but rather old beach vibe. Nice gym, beautiful ocean but furniture was old stained and rusty. Many of the employees acted like they were angry and didn’t want to service you at the restaurant and bars. Many of the chairs were old fill of bird poop. Good food overall. Had to go to a sister hotel for water sports. Overall good at sister hotel.
Beach staff annoying regarding where the chairs are placed on the beach. They're more concerned with trying to pickup the young women guests
Excelent Hotel
We really enjoy our stay. The people are exceptionally nice. They were staffed with right amount of people, you didn't need anything. The food was very good. The place was clean. Our room was the perfect size, a very comfortable bed. there was no complaints from us.
Great resort.beach good.food great. Only disappointed in afternoon tea..not good..
The resort, staff and food were excellent. Very clean. Some wear and tear could be seen in the rooms and throughout the property, but I understand they are about to undergo renovations. We can’t wait to visit again once those are complete!
Expedia saved me on this one, as I walked into the resort to try and book and they told me they were sold out. Sat in the lobby and booked for the following 3 nights. Barbados is a beautiful island with very limited all-inclusive options so this was a lovely reprieve to be able to find mid-vacation. This location is a stumble away from the world famous St. Lawrence Gap and is a quick bus trip away from the most any number of beautiful beach options. The property is due for some upgrades in facilities and service but I believe it will be closing down for a 12 months or so to undergo some renovations and I can't wait to get back once it's back up and running! If you're heading down to Barbados, get into this spot now before it goes for a break and enjoy yourself.
GREAT HOTEL!
Property is old and needs to be updated…Food was okay ….. staff was nice
The property needs a face lift! The Property is located on the best beach! To die for!!! Service is great!
I did not stay at this property!
The property is outdated. Was horrible, old rooms, old dirty lifts, and facilities and check in was later than we were told. Had to hang around in lobby.. don’t waste your money at this awful hotel… glad we only stayed one night.
I like the location.
Great location super staff excelent food
I recently stayed at Turtle Beach Hotel, and it was a truly disappointing experience, especially considering the extremely high price for a week-long stay. The bathroom had mold and a strong odor, making it very unpleasant. The limited dining options offered the same food every day, which quickly became tiresome. The staff showed little hospitality and were quite rude, offering no accommodations when we arrived. To make matters worse, our room was not ready, and we had to wait an additional two hours past the check-in time. For the cost, this hotel was not up to par with its standards. I cannot recommend staying here and hope significant improvements are made.
The property is very old. The rooms smell moldy and our room on 2nd floor had flooded during one of the rainstorms. There’s a fee of about 20$ per day for the hotel stay and that’s in addition to whatever else you paid. There was only three restaurants on site that were all inclusive but the food selection wasn’t the best. There’s a kids club that you can leave your kids there and the staff entertains them for as long as you need them. Other than that there was nothing else for kids entertainment/activities. There was a great coffee shop and ice cream shop. The beach right in front of hotel is not suitable for swimming and you have to go to the sandals resort beach(which is 1min walk) but you cannot use their umbrella or beach chairs. So you have to stay on the turtle beach property but swim in front of sandals property :) beach was great but hotel very outdated
Very tired and staff not happy
Great place
It was a lovely stay. The beach and pool was great. The hotel was a bit dated, but clean and well-maintained. The senior staff was excellent and attentive. The floor staff could have more training in being people-facing.
The beach is beautiful a bit rough
Friendly staff, good food with variety of options, all inclusive, loved the Kids activity area too.
We spend a week at turtle Beach. It was wonderful. We had a great time. The staff was excellent. We did venture out of the area a couple of times. I wouldn’t walk around there at night. Transportation is available if you want to call for a taxi food was good.
Overall for the price of my stay I was satisfied. Pools with access to beach and good distance away from the airport.
The staff were exceptional, extremely friendly and accommodating. The food options were far beyond the standard all inclusive resorts, particularly at the a la carte restaurants. Activities were varied, fun, easily accessible and appropriate for all ages. Loved the added touch of the café and ice cream shop. The choice of evening entertainment was very enjoyable. All together made for a thoroughly enjoyable vacation.
If you are looking for a beach to bathe at this location the beach front will not be suitable as the water was very rough at all times during the day.
Pros- Quiet, not crowded, staff were friendly, good location by the gap, clean room Cons- Not many dining options, little activities, had to walk next door for the beach as it was always a red flag
Food was good, property is outdated and needs more dining options. Beautiful beach area. Staff could be more friendly.
For a property or a resort, that’s all inclusive. It was average. The facility needs renovations. It’s really outdated. Barbados is a very high price Caribbean island but I will say as far as the food it was delicious most of the staff at the turtle resort were great, but there were a few apples Overall I wouldn’t say it’s worth what we paid for but we tried it. We don’t think we’ll go back to Barbados because like I said it’s just over priced into expensive.
Pros: Food was really good, the hotel was clean and the beach was beautiful. Every restaurant was included and no extra cost like other hotels. There is also a cute ice cream parlor and a cute cafe/deli (again all included no extra charge). BUT: Some staff are friendly but majority are not. Crabs everywhere so dont leave any doors open. If you like your stay to be filled with entertainment and music, choose another hotel. If you like a pool with a walk up bar, choose another hotel. If you enjoy the quiet and not doing anything, this is the hotel for you.
Great for families!
My family of four had an amazing time at Turtle Beach Resort. We have been to many Caribbean resorts and I’ll be honest this review. Staff is very friendly. The 2 a la carte restaurants are amazing but the breakfast and lunch buffet are ok. The ice cream and coffee shop are good. This is a small resort with 2 small pools and not many activities for kids. The beach is gorgeous. White sand and turquoise water. They have snorkels free of charge and you can see the colorful fish around the reefs. If you are expecting a busy resort this is not the place for you. There is not much going on. At night they have live music from 7:30-10pm and that’s it for the night. We did one excursion “swimming with the turtles ship wreck” and had a great time! I do recommend this resort if you are a beach lover! We are!
This property was open air beachfront location. The staff, the dining, the rooms, no complaints at all. Yes I would recommend
The property was the worse I’ve ever stayed at in my life and I travel weekly, room was very in need of repairs and upgrades won’t recommend to anyone ever
Really nice resort just need more dinner options
Not with family
Not much special
Needs a bit more variety in the cafe. The location isn’t ideal if you’re looking for a good beach
The great experience- staff was very friendly and helpful.
It was nice staying there
Great experience and the staff was very polite!
Front desk staff was exceptional. The level of professionalism and going out of the way to get stuff done was great. The food was good and the options of food was also great for a picky eater. The coffee shop was my go to in the morning. The frozen drinks was the best. I will definitely go back.
Very nice resort, staff very friendly and rooms were nice.
Just the bugs I didn’t like in our room, had to change room and stay with my niece, besides That great environment, great food, people are friendly, drinks are amazing
Turtle Beach is a oceanfront resort in Christchurch district of Barbados. My family of 2 adults and 4 young children stayed for about a week in two connecting suites with ocean views on the fourth story. Looking back on our stay, I would give Turtle Beach a mixed review. I would say that, if you go there with the correct expectations and depending on what your priorities are, it can be a pleasant stay. Personally, our family enjoyed our stay overall but would probably try to find a different resort if we were to ever return to Barbados.
The beach itself is dirty and full of seaweed. Had to complain to get them to clean it. The buffet is terrible. Same stuff every day for breakfast. Asagios was awesome but only open certain days. It should be open everyday. There is no entertainment besides some locals who either did play an instrument or sang karaoke. In total you got 1 hour of that type of entertainment that ends promptly at 10pm. Staff is very friendly and did listen to concerns.
the staff it's the best :)
Parking was not easy
I stayed there for one of my friends birthday. We had a good time, very clean and helpful staff. I'll recommend this hotel to others. 7/10/24 to 7/14/24.
Beautiful hotel with the most helpful and friendly staff. The food was amazing, with many accommodations for all dietary restrictions. Halal food was also available by request. The beach and pool areas were terrific. Our room had a full view of the clear ocean, and there were many activities available for all ages. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful stay at Turtle Beach, I can understand why we met so many returning guests!
No complaints. Food and view were great
Expedia and Turtle Beach resort Barbados- continued delay tactics on a refund that I'm entitled to due to a natural disaster (Hurricane Beryl) is very dishonest. It's very unfortunate it had to come to this. Each side is blaming the other. Turtle Beach hotel says Expedia collects the payments and they should have gotten an notice saying refunds or rebooking for stay booked up to the 5th of July should be granted. And Expedia is saying they are following Turtle Beache's hotel policy of no refund after said date (cancellation policy). Total Dishonesty. Future guests, please pay at property and do not pay up front. I can absorb $1374 loss- many people can't so please pay at the property for all bookings or seek out other ways to book/ other hotels to say. Thank you! Very pleasant and cosy, not too big not too small hotel. It have seen better days for sure but it is still in decent condition and I've heard rumours the big renovations are coming soon.Let's hope they will not impact the price too much. Buffet options for lunches and dinners were very tasty and never repeated during our week long stay. Only wish I might have would be for waiting staff to smile a bit more often. There were few very friendly girls serving us but mostly they were very serious although professional.
My fiancé and I chose Turtle Beach Resort for our marriage ceremony. And it was the best decision! Everything was really really great, the staff was always friendly and helpful, the nature around is absolutely stunning: crabs, ghost-crabs, variety of birds, we even saw a huge turtle rushing back to the water from the beach in the evening. The food was soooo delicious, that we have to work out badly now to lose some weight 😂. There were always lots of bed chairs available, lots of space and fun. From minuses - the ocean is rough on Eastern side of the island, so the sea weed was all over the place, even though the staff do a great job and try to remove it fast.
Very few staff members were friendly. They charged more fees after paying Expedia in full. Plus they didn't want to accommodate in anyway after missing out two full days of all the amenities we paid for wasn't available to us.
Despite having advertised water sports as an option, all they had were boogie boards and snorkle gear. You had to go snorkeling on your own. Food was ok. Rooms look tired. Very little staff were actually friendly.
I stayed here a week ago. The service and staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, I forgot my phone charger. Visiting from the states the only outlet was behind the TV station that worked for me. I called the hotel the next morning for a week now speaking to the same staff that I dealt with while I visited and there has been no proper communication. They all ask for the room number and my phone number on every call and no communication after that I was in luck to be transferred to there lost and found only for no one to answer. I requested to speak to a manager and was told no one was able every time I asked. I would be very cautious and worry some if you were to accidentally have forgotten something valuable. Service at face value is appreciated but honesty doesn’t really cost anything either. Comparing to other hotels I have stayed . The integrity of this hotel is definitely questionable. It would justify my feedback to receive a response AFTER an unsatisfactory review as if it’s the only way to address a concern.
The cleaniness , safety and good customer service.
being vegetarian, it was pretty much same food everyday different variety and little taste would be great idea. they had a coconut water for about 15 people one day which is stupid when you have a couple hundred guest. staff overall wonderful but one lady working at and around sand bar always showed attitude with everything by making facial expressions. she always did the work but she could’ve done with little heart. Tyson was real good at bar.
Comfortable bed, hot shower, cold AC. Good food, plenty of vegetarian choices. Ice cream shop. Coffee shop, excellent coffee. Beautiful beach with constant breeze. Nightly entertainment. Excellent resort.
This is definitely not A 4 star property rather 2 star property Why Marriott is spoiling its brand name with this cheap resort association .. We Stayed from date June 19-June 23 Only thing I liked was ice cream as it was super hot other than that all Cons - Some Bathroom have weird dangerous deep bath tub it’s so hard to step in and come out. Toilet get clogged easily It will take forever for them to get you down towels Rooms are ok little dated Cheap brand of alcohol Food is super terrible and very less variety Not much options for vegetarian or Vegans -They offered me non vegetarian dish saying this is vegetarian Their beach is not at all clean No lifeguard in pool area They will say you can access our sister property but they will not have any provisions for you to access
Good service
First and foremost, i certainly enjoyed my stay. My room was huge with a beautiful view of the ocean and garden on the 4th floor. Staff was so kind and helpful. Always respectful and even funny. Food, pool, drinks and activities are all so convenient and wonderful. Food was delicious and easy to access. Drinks were quick and everywhere. A total of 4 pools and one is a jacuzzi. A yummy ice cream parlor. Food and drinks served poolside. Beach chairs with a full top, not just an umbrella. Activities that make u never want to leave and a nice gym. Hotel can arrange all transportation which is perfect. Downside, I was with 4 other people who shared 2 rooms. One group left their room to use my shower because they couldn't get hot water in their room on the second floor. Once they reported it, maintenance came quick and attempted to resolve it. They also experienced ants. The last night was the worse because they woke up from ants biting their face from the pillows. My other group had to leave their last night to sleep with me due to an ant infestation on the first floor.
My flights were canceled and Expedia claimed they couldn't get hold of the hotel to change my booking. Very poor customer service.
Wonderful place to go!!! Highly suggested!
This hotel was amazing!!! It is unreal how wonderful the hospitality is!! The maids were great! Bartenders here are so friendly and will remember what you drink/make suggestions. The security guys were great too (Jermaine and Gregory)! Jermaine was teaching us about cricket and was so pleasant to be around!! We had an absolute dream honeymoon!!!
The property was outdated. Staff was great! I enjoyed my stay and once the renovations are completed, I would reconsider a stay. There were some sort of bugs in my bed on my first night of my stay. I could smell the pesticide they used to avoid that situation on my first night so I slept on the couch. After the first night, no issues. They shuttle to the other properties were a plus as well.
Elevator was not working the entire four days I stayed here had to walk down dark steps every day and night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle Beach. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had s fantastic view. The food was beautifully cooked in both the buffet restaurant and the al a carte. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but we felt like we were in the Caribbean which was perfect for us. We didn’t want a rubber stamped hotel that could be anywhere. I know the hotel will be refurbished next year, I hope it doesn’t loose it’s character.
My Turtle Beach review in Memorial weekend
Ill start with the positive - calm atmosphere not a party resort. Good for Senior citizen couples, Seniors in general or anyone who wants to do nothing. - The corner rooms that have ocean front views are decent with 2 balconies. Big bed - Most of the staff are friendly and accommodating - Childrens section - Housekeeping is good at cleaning daily if when you put the service sign on the door - Felt secure cause they ask your room number every-time you leave and return to the property to keep up with guest - Close to Bridgetown and Lawrence Gap where the clubs/restaurants/souvenir shopping and grocery markets are at/ mainly the southside of the Island. - West side of the Island is best place to stay, if you want better hotels and resorts and calmer oceans to swim in. - Plenty of beach chairs available - Kind of empty in this resort maybe because memorial day weekend is low season…not sure or if it’s just this resort has low guest. No meed to fight for any seating, long lines etc. The negative - when we arrived there was no one giving welcome drinks. There was a liquor punch dispenser set up and cooler with ice and cups to serve yourself. In addition birds were drinking from the punch spout drippings and hanging around it. We had to constantly shoo them away. They available staff was overwhelmed working the front desk checking people in. Should have been staff there to offer the drinks instead of me having to look around to see where they were. 1st bad impression. - you
The food options were great, room is a bit dated and the numerous birds in the dining area made eating problematic as you constantly had to be watching your food and swatting them away. Overall a good stay I will recommend staying there once the birds are dealt with.
Good management staff....terrible staff for the most part. Rude, disinterested, unhelpful..except for one or two I'd fire them all and start all over again. They acted like they were doing the guests a favor by doing their jobs...poorly.
My kids and I enjoyed every minute at Turtle Beach Resort. The staff is so happy, friendly and accommodating. The food and beverages were endless and delicious. We were greeted with smiles and warm welcomes everywhere! From swimming with turtles to live entertainment while enjoying a delicious dinner everything exceeded our expectations! 10/10 recommend!
Staff was so friendly. Food was great. And beautiful beach and blue blue water!
Los muebles han quedado vetustos deberian hacer un resitailing del mobiliario. La preparacion de los mozos deja mucho q desear.
Beautiful place to stay! Wish I stayed longer!
Room: The rooms are dated are require renovation, but we were aware of this prior to booking the trip. The rooms were clean, but we did have a leak in our bathroom which was fixed fairly quickly by the staff. Rooms have blackout curtains, but sunlight came through in the center and at the bottom making it difficult to sleep in. Food: The food was generally okay. I always appreciate an omelet bar and the bacon was good, so breakfast worked well for my needs. The lunch menus were hit and miss, with some meals being quite enjoyable; while others were not good at all. I appreciate that there was variety. We did not eat dinner at the resort often and chose to go to local restaurants, but there was some type of entertainment each day. Beach: On our first few days, the beach was absolutely beautiful. The beach was clean and the waves were tolerable if you are comfortable in the water. The water became very choppy and the waves were dangerous for the last half of our trip, and there was a lot of seaweed which was not cleared from the beach. However, the neighbouring hotel has a wall in place that reduces the amount of waves that is accessible by guests at Turtlebeach. Location: The location was great in relation to the airport and St. Lawrence Gap area. We walked over to the Gap a few times for dinner which was a nice change from hotel food.
A Great Place for a Vacation
The accommodations were exceptional. There was an opportunity to learn cooking and/or music skills. The staff was very friendly and efficient, particularly housekeeping.
The property was great. We visited with an 11 month old baby and it was very comfortable. The staff went above and beyond in making sure that we had everything we needed and that we enjoyed our stay. On our last day, we forgot some items in the hotel and the staff made sure that our items reached us at the airport before our international flight. Overall, the service and care we received was phenomenal
The resort ws pretty out dated old not enough activities on the property boring entertainment, Birds around the food area , food wasnt that good, beach was Nice and surrounding area was nothing to do..I think if they want more business entertainment is a Must
LOVED our stay!! The nicest, happiest and most helpful staff I’ve ever encountered!! They truly made us feel welcome and at home right away and took amazing care of us the entire time.
Beautiful resort. Nice beach. Hotel is old. Just a few outlets. Phones do not work. We could not call another room. We were in the 4th floor with broken elevator. We were moved to another wing with working elevator. The stuff was great. Good was good. I like. There were no activities at all which we liked. It was quiet and relaxing and nobody bothered us. You can take taxi to any place you like. It’s cheaper than pay for excursion with transportation. Take some bread and go to the riff at the next door hotel Sandals to feed fish. You can swim there too if waters are ruff. We had great time.
Front desk greeting, concierge, lovely beach, and good. Snorkeling with turtles over shipwrecks, Jeep rise around the island, safe walk to numerous restaurants, nearby town has fish fry and entertainment not to be missed.
Super clean, amazing food with many options daily, great drinks, beautiful beach.
Good resort with amenities
Property around the hotel needs significant repairs and refresh. Very old and dated too. Rooms were quite large though. Some staff were really great, most I encountered were not friendly or helpful at all. Water sports employees were amazing though. Hundreds of birds and their excrement everywhere throughout food service areas. Very unhygienic. Food was very average. Saw multiple staff regularly scrolling on social media. Overall was very disappointed with the hotel - would never stay there again.
Dated but service is great
We stayed here as a result of our initial flight home being cancelled, so they helped us out by staying here. Hotel is definitely dated and could use some updating for sure. My wife stayed here 12 years ago and said not much has changed. However, everything was very clean and the service by everyone we encountered was excellent. I would not necessarily seek this hotel out again, but in a pinch would definitely stay here again.
Property is spacious however, much work is needed to enhance the quality of service
We had a wonderful stay. Thank you to everyone for the great accommodation ♡
Property needs serious updates. Food was not that good. Wonderful access to the beach, and helpful staff
This was my 4th stay at Turtle Beach. The staff, dining choices and location are excellent. The resort needs extensive renovations as each room I have stayed in shows a lot of wear and tear. However, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and it is still my preferred hotel in the area.

The property is lovely and directly on a stunning beach. The room was very clean, with direct access to the beach and pool. The food was delicious, fresh with a lot of variety and choices. Everything you could want and more!!
