Was a small wait to check in as it’s just round corner at the bar, was given a sea view room with balcony which was very nice ( was £10 dearer on booking and not selected so classing as a nice upgrade) Bar area is very nice. Breakfast is served from 7.30 which is a little late and meant I couldn’t partake, would be great if you brought it forward to 6.30/7.00 for people who are staying for work and need to travel.
We got off to a shaky start as the automated check in process was a but of a nightmare and the staff were all tied up with Sunday lunch. Following this however things picked up. The room was clean and had plenty of space and the property itself was in very good condition. Had an excellent carvery on arrival and breakfast was also really nice. After the initial slip up staff were very helpful and polite. There was plenty of parking and the registry process for parking was nice and easy. Well located and lots of options around for eating. One other niggle was the noise from the venue next door as our room was on the back and windows were not that sound proof. It did tend to finish about 9.30 so wasn't a major problem but I'm not sure if the weekend would go on longer. Will definitely be using again.
Reliable, comfortable and spacious
Reliably comfortable hotel with spacious rooms, friendly service and wide choice of food in the bar/restaurant
The Seaburn Inn is a wonderful place to stay the view from the balcony are amazing . Food is very tasty and satisfying also the staff at the hotel are very helpful 👌
Hotel was clean and well maintained, the room was a good size with a great view out to sea. 2 things let this stay down, the beds were very soft and uncomfortable, we know beds are a personal preference and we prefer a much firmer mattress, it is rare to find one so soft in a hotel these days. The second point was the food in the bar downstairs, choice was good, portion size was good and taste was good however the plates were cold so the food got cold really quickly and so took away the enjoyment of the meal, such a simple thing to rectify we were surprised the chef allows it to happen.
Brilliant
Lovely stay at the Seaburn Inn
Hotel was nice, really well situated and with loads of parking which was ideal. Room was nice and comfortable for a family of 4 for a couple of days, beds weren’t as firm as I’d normally like but didn’t have a bad sleep. The beach is across the road and is amazing although we didn’t have a view of it, not sure if the family rooms are available with that. We ate on the bar one night but wouldn’t eat there again. Having the breakfast option was good although we only had cereal and continental so can’t speak for the cooked breakfast.
Nice Hotel
Comfortable and near to pubs and restaurants.
Reasonably new hotel, so all the facilities feel like they are in good condition. Good value for money. It’s self service check in / out / parking & this was simple to complete. The staff at breakfast couldn’t have been more helpful. There seemed to be a good supply of Ubers in the area which was very good.
Excellent though out
Great East coast sunrise destination
Lovely hotel in a lovely area
Lovely hotel and with good staff only downside was the room hadn’t been cleaned properly half eaten pizza and rubbish left in the wardrobe. In clear view so cleaner should of seen it
It provides the basics. Nice room clean but nothing special. The bathroom was functional basic with cheap fittings. The major issue was that it's overpriced for what it provides. For £160 per night I expected something special....but got the basics!!!
Good quality hotel in a great area.
The property is nice and clean, however the security staff can be rude when attempting to clear the bar. Kicking out guests when a taxi is en route to stand in the cold then immediately informing guests of the hotel who were sat with them to go to their rooms in an abrupt and rude manor only to be seen leaving, getting in a car and going home rather than waiting for their guests to be safely departed.
Decent hotel and good value
Good, modern and a large room
A return visit is definitely in the cards.
Second time staying here. Had a lovely room overlooking the sea. The room was well equipped, good towels, kettle, coffee/tea, cookies, tissues (yeh), only thing missing was a small bar of soap for face washing - can't have everything. The room was lovely and warm, other hotels this trip have been like ice boxes. Restaurant/bar is very good, very popular meeting place but not too noisy. Breakfast included continental and 'full English', eat your fill.
An excellent place to stay- the only minor issue was the shower head in the shower was almost 90 degrees to the wall so no way to stand under spray- bed and pillows really comfortable and view from balcony was just wonderful. Would definitely stay again.
From the time we checked in and the time we left the service was fantastic the staff were very polite and friendly could not have wished for a better hotel
The hotel is in a brilliant position the room we stayed in needed a phone and certain areas of the room was dusty.
Very close to washington easy to get there good parking, staff very helpfull and room 201 excellent, brilliant views with fantastic sun rise, lovely promenade stroll then a great breakfast
Perfect
Excellent hotel and pub Breakfast s the best ever . Im going back
Will Stay Again
It is a brilliant property with a great pub/restaurant in a lovely area that has been revived in recent years. Can't go wrong as the rooms are huge so very accessible and quiet with lift access and perfect sea views on the front
Pros….We LOVED the breakfast…the room was very nice, ….excellent location….very convenient to all that Seaburn has to offer… CONS-I hope this review is taken seriously…on glaring issue to us, is why on earth are guests able to bring their devs into the specific , dining room at breakfast???…was ridiculous….we love animals, but people had like two massive labradoodles , with bowls for them, and there is an open buffet , and these dogs, get up , wet and shake their fur, and spread all kind of gander and where they’ve been rolling in the dirt, all over open food!!…I am from UK this this PC behavior is ridiculous, and this was daily, for 3 days, multiple guests with numerous dogs creating an unsanitary environment!!!….I respectfully ask that this is corrected, as the Health dept would clearly shut you guys down!
Meow
Lovely hotel, spacious room, comfortable bed, quiet room close to plenty of bars and restaurants even a Morrisons close by on the sea front
Staying near family on the Seafront, brilliant experience.
Business Trip
A nice hotel in a sea front location. Large car park to the rear of the hotel. Used the hotel for a business trip. Rooms clean and spacious. Options of booking a sea front view and also came with a small balcony with a café table and chairs to be able to sit out on the evening Used the hotel for an evening meal. Nice selection of food and beers available. Good portions and service Breakfast was in with the room rate I selected. Good selection available, cooked options had to be ordered at the bar Overall a very enjoyable stay
Best North East England Hotel!
Superb location with the beach steps away. Restaurants close by, but the hotel food and drinks were fantastic! The included breakfast was superb with an amazing selection of hot and cold food. The staff were fantastic. We plan to stay here again! View of the beach was fantastic - we definitely recommend the balcony/sea view rooms. Super!
I had an amazing stay with an amazing view. Wonderfully located with several take out options around.
Love the style
The hotel is on the esplanade Fabinho the beach planted with beautiful flowers. Some construction work behind the hotel. Perhaps more staff around reception would speed up checking in
A lovely place to stay to see the beautiful north east.
Great location. Room was large and clean. Awesome view of the sea.
Fantastic hotel
Excellent hotel fantastic friendly staff great food just a disappointing start paid for sea view on condition of balcony didn’t get looked out onto flat roof covered in weeds don’t know who’s fault but that was only disappointing part of stay
Clean, spacious rooms. Good breakfasts and evening meals.
Great seafront location for a short stop over….rooms were spacious and comfortable. Very clean and attractive bar and dining area. Food was good - great breakfast choice. Staff were friendly and always available….great location. Would certainly recommend.
This is our first visit and we will definitely be back. Rooms are lovely and clean. Food is amazing and staff are really lovely cant wait to return.
Very nice hotel although we could hear music from The Stack in our bedroom thankfully it finished at 11.30. Breakfast was ok poached egg was over cooked (not a runny yoke) on arrival you got a free drink voucher if you did not have room serviced if you were staying more than one night however it did not state that you could only get beer or soft drink with it very misleading.
next door to stack
clean comfy room everything we needed, right next door to the stack perfect for our visit. Had full english this was the only thing that let this hotel down was not nice at all very greasy.
Our room at the Seaburn Inn was light & comfortable, with a lovely sea view. The Inn's restaurant was busy and lively but this did not affect the bedroom accommodation, which was quiet. Great night's sleep and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Staff were very friendly. Dog friendly, too, which was ideal. Would definitely stay again.
Wonderful situation right next to the seaside with great views along the coastline. Room was very roomy with a balcony and chairs. Great for relaxing and taking in the sea air. The bar restaurant was excellent with a mixture of hotel guests and people just enjoying the restaurant. Food was of a very good standard, with good service. My mother thought her salmon was the best she had ever had. Breakfast choice was very good, well cooked and presented. Many locals take breakfast here so that is a good recommendation. Lots of really nice walks and the beach opposite is brilliant. A big shout out to the council and locals for making this a wonderful place to visit. Would definitely come back.
Central location for everything
Anniversary stay
We had a lovely stay ! Room 301 was Beautiful with a fabulous view. Bed was lovely and comfortable, service at breakfast was spot on we will definitely stay again .
Family from USA
The room was a great family room. Large enough to not be in each other's way.
An excellent one night stay!
The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was excellent with a very good shower. The room faced the sea and promenade and had a lovely glass fronted balcony with a table and chairs. The hotel itself seems very new and the breakfast was very good, free and served by very cheery staff. All in all, a very nice stay.
Nice.
Very good.
The hotel was perfect for our stay.
Nice place and location, however, room lights are not adequate so dark room, shower leaked, tv is mounted in a ridiculous location, automatic check in didnt work, and ev charger didnt work. Breakfast is famtastic.
Great stay will be returning. Loved the bar/restaurant area, really relaxed. Room was great size and lovely view Thankyou
Lovely room with great view.
I liked everything
You cannot go wrong
Used more than once now and would use again. Great in every way.
A little gem
Stayed on a business trip, good rooms, great food, friendly staff. Was so impressed have stayed again for another business trip and would definitely return.
Works going on at the back of the hotel, not good for guests looking onto this. The Stack building is next door and is very unsightly .
Stayed for one night very comfortable hotel staff very friendly
lovely view of the sea
Expected More
Used inn collection hotels previously in the Lakes and was looking forward to my stay in this new hotel. It’s in a great position by the Sea,automatic check in was very good. Room was no better than a Premier Inn it might have been they gave me a disabled room, but no nice touches The biggest disappointment was the evening meal, very average and I thought the choice was poor. Good selection at breakfast but not helped by 2 maintenance men mending and taking out the seating, hotels should understand guests expect a relaxing breakfast and this kind of work should be done at a different time.
Night away
Was unhappy with the online check in, we were given a disability room that we couldnt sleep in due to the green lighting in the room. Not a great stay this time ! I have stayed before and we delighted!!
Warner break
Staff very helpful lovely stay. Manager resolved problem and was helpful
Good Location
Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Hotel was very clean and had a warm cosy feeling. The room was also clean and comfortable. Shame about the weather, very windy and too much rain, but would probably come back in summer to explore the sites and beach. Only came this time of year, as my daughter had an interview at the university. chips were a bit undercooked but good food otherwise.
Free drink in the bar if you forfeit getting your room cleaned the followings day - great idea!! No more cleaning rooms for the sake of cleaning rooms!!
Nice place good pub good location
love the view of the sea it was lovely and warm indoors it was just a nice change and the staff were excellent .The only thing was the bed was too soft I am used to a more firm bed and my head kept sliding off the silky pillowcases
Family holiday
Super friendly and professional staff, delicious and perfectly cooked breakfast, clean and spacious rooms and easy parking. Couldn’t have asked for more!
Fab stay
Weather wasnt good so couldnt really go out. Right next door is the Stack which played live music served street food and bar. Was really good. But we enjoyed the cosy comfortable Seaburn Inn just relaxing playing dominoes and enjoying proberbly one too many pints lol Staff were very good was lovely to see service and professional people doing their thing Thank you
A great hotel in a great place - dog friendly and in an excellent location
Very cosy
Very lovely place to stay in. Hope to visit in summer time to get a room facing the sea
Good location, easy parking (and an EV charger), spacious room which was perfect with the kids, excellent breakfast. Staff were all brilliant throughout our stay - wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Perfect place for a seafront stop
A brilliant one-night stay when we came up to see the Lionesses play at the Stadium of Light. The hotel is right on the seafront and while we had a view of the car park, it’s still a lovely area to wake up to! The room was very big for the two of us and we appreciated the sofa and TV in there too. The bathroom was clean and had everything we needed. Unfortunately we didn’t get to make the most of the breakfast as we had to set off home before service began but it looked and sounded tasty! The location was also super - quiet, right on the seafront and surrounded by little places to visit. We had a drink in the bar and then headed to Stack next door for dinner. Thanks for a great visit.
Great place for a weekend break.
Very impressed with our stay at the Seaburn Inn. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff attentive and helpful without being “in your face”. The breakfast was amazing, so much choice from the continental selection and hot classics to order, a great way to start the day. There are lots of restaurants locally but we found the hotel food to be tasty, well prepared and served promptly. Nice walks along the coast to the north to Souter Lighthouse and close enough to the city centre for a little retail therapy. Thoroughly recommended.
Wonderful stay, amazing view. Friendly staff and service, couldn’t fault it
.
the only down side was when we went to dine the tables were not always wiped with a cloth. We did not mention this to anyone.
A****
Me and my partner stay in a king size room which was really spacious, very clean, breakfast was very nice we both we really enjoyed it staff were lovely, pleasant and very helpful, hotel was across the road from the seafront which me and my partner had a walk along to the lighthouse, lovely few days and will definitely be back
Right on seafront, fabulous views
Room was very clean, view of the sea was amazing. Restaurant was very good and breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful as we were attending a concert. Definitely recommend.
Great hotel Over looking the beach We had a lovely big room with a balcony
Lovely hotel in a lovely spot.
Really lovely hotel. Nice bar and restaurant with great staff. Excellent location. Stayed in one of the double rooms with balcony and sea view which was fantastic. Couple of points for improvement I think. Firstly, our balcony looked as though it hadn't been swept as there were a few areas where there were little piles of food crumbs. Secondly, although bed was comfortable overall, the pillows were not the best and could certainly be improved. Neither of these issues really affected what was a great stay.
Visiting Grandson
Ideal hotel for us, comfortable bed, quiet location, excellent restaurant, caring staff and very clean throughout.
great for families loads of good food outlets within easy walk just accross of a blue flag beach and public transport a few meters away.plus very good breakfast
Lovely view
Very clean and comfortable room. All staff polite and friendly.Service great
This is a very good hotel. There are other restaurants around but to be honest we ate in the hotel because it had good food and very nice homey atmosphere. Rooms are comfortable, parking is easy and it does have a lift. Staff were very helpful. Would return.
Staff throughout our stay were excellent, friendly, professional and kind. Excellent location for our family beach holiday. Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from Meals during the day are all good value We would definitely return and recommend to our family and friends
Disappointing
Not happy with the stay for breakfast felt like a cattle market people everywhere not special and quiet like we would of expected. A dog was barking which was very annoying especially when your trying to have a relaxing breakfast!! Also sausage was missing off our breakfast! They brought them out in a bowl!! Also we had barking dog’s opposite room 203 which again for the price you pay at the hotel you expect a bit more privacy and quiet
Excellent stay again brilliant views from balcony rooms
My first time in Sunderland was to attend the Beyoncé concert and I’m so glad I stayed at Seaburn Inn. The food and staff were wonderful. I look forward to another visit.
Lovely hotel right on the sea front with sea view rooms. There was lots of choice for breakfast as much as you can eat hot and cold, which was lovely and highly recomended. Room was nice and clean and big enough for us (couple) we live in the area, but this has great transport links for those that are visiting the city and wish to explore.
Faultless
Amazing
April 2023 Seaburn Inn Vacation
Have stayed at the Seaburn Inn now on a number of occasions. My husband originates from the North East and we just love to get up to the NE as often as we can and always opt to stay at this Inn. The staff are always polite and respect and very supportive - nothing is too much trouble. A lovely stay as always
Great customer service
The building is a modern take on a Miami Beach hotel , with fabulous views over the lovely seafront at Seaburn . Various great Bars and restaurants around and the resort is quite upmarket . Very pleasantly surprised with the area and lovely beach too .
It’s a nice hotel. Dinner was nice. Room set up is odd, the TV is not in a great place for anyone in the family room.
Dog friendly was great. No bathtub on sea side of hotel wasn't good.
Great stay
very comfortable. pleasant dining
The hotel is ideally located on the sea front at Seaburn. The rooms are quite big for a modern hotel and are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good.
Previous Fantastic Stay but this stay was flawed.
I've stopped at the hotel twice before and had a fantastic stay, this stay wasn't as good but it was still good value for money, i contacted the hotel team by email to explain my issue but only received a holding reply, I'm not sure if i will book again.
Lack of staff on bar
Good but short staffing

The carpets in the room were covered in white long dog hair. It made the experience very uncomfortable.
