Best hotel in Frankfurt

This hotel was very conveniently located and the rooms were a god size and well kept. The staff was friendly but not super efficient. However, I found the beds not super comfortable. Also I made a reservation with breakfast included and upon arrival was told that in fact it was included but was charged breakfast, for some reason, the last two days of my stay. The hotel employee insisted that it was not included in my reservation. I think all in all it was an expensive hotel for what it offered.

Great hardware (large room, facilities) and location (5mins walk to opera house) but completely let down by the services. I stayed for 4nights and did not get a single refill of coffee and complimentary bottle of water. Since there is no phone in the room, each night i had to go to reception and queue up to request water and coffee capsule.

Nice hotel, terrible pillows and air con.

Nice, well maintained hotel with good location and parking - just make sure you pre-book the parking, otherwise its a 10 minute walk to the nearest garage. The hotel doesn't have its own restaurant and bar, there is an adjoining restaurant you can make a purchase in and take to the hotel lounge. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were TERRIBLE, either one tiny pillow or a huge overstuffed square pillow. I can't stand this trend for square pillows. Looked nice on the bed but made for an awful nights sleep, either virtually no pillow or neck at 45 degrees. Aircon was odd. I followed the instructions in the room and it just kept pumping out heat, even when set to the lowest setting - range was +/- 3, not temperature. Even when turned off it kept coming on with heat. Had to sleep with the window open which was freezing. If I had to I would stay here again but given a choice I will try an alternative.

Comfort and cleanliness, the room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, making it feel comfortable and welcoming from the moment I stepped in.

Best hotel in Frankfurt

The "loft" style of the room was awesome!! In a quiet neighborhood but within five minute walk to the main shopping area Ziel. It's not crazy like the area near the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) but civilized and the restaurant attached to the hotel is resonable with great tasting food and great service.

A/C is not great . Was hot in the room

My stay at The Flag West M. was everything I hoped that it would be: easy to get to from the airport after taking the S-Bahn, safe and quiet neighborhood, and conveniently located in terms of getting to the city center and restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaint I had is that the person staying in the room next door was very loud - it sounded like they were moving furniture and stomping around late into the night. I'm not sure if it is because of thin walls or I was just unlucky.

Great Place in Fantastic Location

I loved The Flag. I was looking for a hotel in the West End close to where I once lived. The Flag was modern and the rooms were unique. The service was excellent and the staff was warm and welcoming. Next time I’m back in Frankfurt I will look to the Flag once again.

Did not like the low beds, and the clear glass looking into shower.

Mattresses are outdated and need to be replaced.

The mattresses are too soft and definitely need to be replaced for a while. Be aware that Room cleaning is only every three days. They only let you do early check-in when you pay extra, even if rooms are cleaned already. Location is very convenient.

Clise to the consulate

Great hotel close to Goethe University and the alt opera. 2 minutes to subway. 20-30 minute walk to old town. Perfect! Thank you for the hospitality!

I often come to Frankfurt not only for work and personally and it is the best place to stay, comfortable, calm, all in walking distance, in contemporary style and large area for work and negotiations

Nicely renovated rooms. If you're used to controlling air conditioning (and run hot like I do), you'll find the automatic air conditioning you can barely affect (especially automatic shutoff at night) pretty infuriating.

Very good hotel, clean and quiet. Very conveniently located, next to a subway station, buses and a supermarket. Definitely recommended!

Eco friendly shouldn’t mean that the AC is ineffective and that you don’t get shampoo and conditioner.

The room was lovely, however if you like your room really cold the air conditioning will not be to your liking. They didn’t have parking available for our stay but the staff was friendly (except the last day at breakfast). I would stay here again with lower expectations.

Excellent place and attentive staff. Places to improve: get actual ACs not the vent that can only minimally cool the air. Also - more diversity at breakfast. I stayed 5 days and the breakfast was exactly the same each day

everything is perfect one issue if you are conservative about showering in privacy without your partner have full view than that is point you should take into consideration

Minimalism?

Hmmm. Minimalism can sometimes border on not providing comfort. Aesthetically? Restful to the eyes. It tickled me hearing a woman ask Reception for a door to her shower. I wondered why they skipped having sheets, but the puff was fine. A cool well-lighted place? They missed the lights, however it was calming after a date at the Ambiente trade show! The reverse is true on the staffing. LOVELY people. Lobby space was welcoming---while we waited three hours to be allowed into our room after an international flight. Breakfast was FABULOUS. Would I go back? Yes. Location, staff and dining won us over.

Heating was not working at all, they put shampoo on the floor, not even a place they have in bathroom for shampoo

It is a very new property, looks nice is functional, but my last night there was a very loud party, as it not only a hotel but also apartments and students live there; the party was on a Sunday to Monday and lasted past 3am. The smell of pot from the party was so strong that between the noise and smell made it impossible to sleep. There were some people from other rooms/apartments shouting to them to get quieter, but with no response. Also a con of the hotel is that it has no phones inside the rooms which makes its more difficult to contact front desk like in these situations. Otherwise is a good place but I guess the risk of having apartments with students is this one.

The Flag West is in a very good location. The room is clean. Convenient co-work space near the lobby. With the exception of one person at the reception who barely looked at me while attending to me, the other receptionists were very attentive, with special emphasis on the attentive and friendly André. I do recommend it!

Lovely, comfortable room in a fantastic location. I think my thermostat may have been broken...couldn't get it to work correctly, but everything else was wonderful.

Very clean, stylish and comfortable hotel that is reasonably priced. Not in the middle of the city centre but actually, that's how we like it. It's in a nicer, more sophisticated area of Frankfurt and the city centre is a 5-8 min walk away. The supermarket is a short 100m walk away and the Block steakhouse next to it is really good too. The bathroom facilities are great with a strong hairdryer and powerful shower and rain bath jets. So cosy! Wished we stayed longer than 2 nights.

Not a place of comfort

Room was nice, but very hot and air conditioning was subpar to say the least. Unit is preset to turn off every 30 minutes and it was hotter inside than out. Had to open all windows and couldn’t sleep due to the noise from the restaurant patio downstairs. I also suffered a sinus infection from sleeping with the windows opened. The common spaces and hallways were even more uncomfortable from the heat. Doors are heavy and huge and slamming all night. Not due to inconsiderate guests, but because of design issues. Overall, not terrible, but certainly not pleasant and if I had a business meeting the next morning, it would have been with nearly zero sleep due to the uncomfortable room environment.

This is really place where you want to come back!

Not a 4* hotel

Be warned this is not a 4* hotel officially, despite the ratings on some websites - and this shows with the lack of customer service and amenities. The room is protected from the traffic noise (on the 8th floor at least), but is not soundproof at all inside - we heard our neighbour laughing and talking on the phone in the next room and if you have a room by the entrance of your floor, there is a heavy fireproof door after the lifts which you will hear every closing of and your room door will rattle from it. We requested a change of room, but were met with an unsympathetic and unhelpful receptionist (a guy with dark hair that worked on the 19th May night) who didn't even offer an apology and looked very bothered we had even asked this of him. Toiletries offered were only a 3-in-1 hand/body/hair wash - would have brought more of my own if I had known in advance. Also shower design means water gets outside shower area as there is no curtain or cubicle door. Service was more like serviced apartments and we had to go to reception to collect basic items as they do not deliver to your room or borrow from bar next door yourself. No room service options either. Comfortable for a cheaper, quick stay in a nice, central area with interesting modern decor, but do not expect 4* level rooms or service.

Great hotel in a great location. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. I hope they open more of these.

On the positive side, the hotel restaurant was amazing and the rooms were comfortable and really nice decorated. On a not so good note was the lack of parking space at the hotel and the fact that mini bar was empty.

I won’t stay again

Shower drain was clogged. It’s a typical European shower which has no shower pan. Water gets all over the place although I tried to block it. I am eligible to a free parking because of my hotels.com gold membership. But the front desk tried not to give me the parking by telling me the parking was full(asked me to park on the street. I tried but had no luck). While actually there were several spaces left in the garage. Sheets and pillowcase were not very clean. I put a towel on top of my pillowcase. This is the very first negative review I ever gave on hotels.com after all this years. I won’t stay there again for sure.

All in all, good comfortable room

Great concept and we loved the location. The room was good, but quite small. Also, although we enjoyed having cutlery and crockery for the stay (and washing liquid was provided) as we had no sink there wasn’t anywhere to wash the items. Clearer instructions/a sink would have been appreciated. In addition, the air con wasn’t amazing. The room got very hot overnight and we would put on the air, but it always turned off on a timer. Again, clearer instructions would have been great.

Good for Business

Very well located for work downtown, nice business travel amenities, very clean, pleasant boulevard with trees & cafes. I would definitely return here on work-related travel. For our small family trip the room was quirky: no hanging space, shower transparent to the room, and difficult to get sufficiently cool. I had chosen the hotel because we were driving, and as a Silver member, the booking "included free parking" on the premises as a "VIP Silver Exclusive". When we arrived, check-in staff said parking was fully booked, so that perk was really only available if there happened to be space free. This was irritating and we had to drive around looking for parking, which we eventually found. The hotel was not full, so this Hotels.com Silver Exclusive benefit must be very rare indeed. If this had been clear I would have called ahead or expected to pay for parking or stayed elsewhere.

The room I got was one of the top choices they had so I was expecting it to be very good. I was disappointed with the bathroom and toilet doors as they are sliding doors, so noise isolation was near nonexistent. If you want to hear your partners bowel movements I totally recommend it. The AC was honestly terrible. It was very warm when I visited so I set the fan speed to maximum manually, but it would time out every 15 minutes to automatic for “ecological” reasons. I’m sorry but it was just honestly infuriating having to get up every 15 minutes to turn it back up. The temperature range was also only -3C which doesn’t tell you much. Waiting for the lifts was also very annoying as there’s only two, and sometimes you could be waiting up to 5 minutes for a lift. It was quicker for me to go to the 7th floor by stairs than to take the lift.

Good business stay.

The room was very stuffy besides being chilly outside but quiet. Nice coffee and tea selection but no amenities like cotton rounds, slippers or hair conditioner.

Sehr schönes, geschmackvoll gestaltetes Haus, helle Zimmer dank großer Fenster, Personal nett, kompetent und motiviert. Frühstück: Auswahl vielleicht nicht ganz so groß wie in anderen Hotels dieser Kategorie, dafür sehr gute Qualität. Etwas eigenartige Zusatzkosten bei früherer Anreise. Das wirkt in Anbetracht der gehobene Übernachtungspreise recht kleinlich, auch wenn man es nicht in Anspruch nimmt.

Ich war hier schon mehrmals zu Gast. Sehr gute Lage und gut eingerichtete Zimmer. Leider dieses Mal kein gutes Frühstück. Kaffee im Gegensatz zu sonst nur aus dem Automaten, keine Eier und auch sonst ein ziemlich abgeräumtes Buffet um 8.15, das nicht mehr aufgefüllt wurde. Bei dem Preis geht das gar nicht.

Dejligt og moderne hotel. Gode senge og mulighed for både at lave te og kaffe. Eneste der var galt, var at der ikke var varmt vand i to dage og dette blev ikke kommunikeret videre til gæsterne eller kompenseret. Ikke sjovt i sommervarmen.

20€/Hund/Nacht finde ich zu viel, wenn man 2 Hunde hat.

Bel’établissement que je recommande sur Frankfurt. Une terrasse sympathique au dernier étage. Très bien insonorisé et excellemment bien conçu. Une belle réussite. Personnel sympathique excepté un membre du personnel dans la salle des petits déjeuner. De retour en fin d’après-midi pour après une première nuit nous avons constaté que la chambre n’avait pas été faite. Nous y retournerons toutefois si l’occasion se présente sans hésitation.

Durchdachtes modernes Design Zimmer. . Hipp, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Besonders klasse ist die Fensterfront u die kleine Küchenbar mit Kühlschrank u Nespressomaschine. Zu Fuß schnell am Operplatz u trotzdem ruhig.

Nice hotel but bring bathrobe

No bathrobe and an ice cold room is a bad comination. You can only change the temp 3 degrees +/- and it was ok for sleeping but not getting up! Comfortable bed but terrible pillows. Breakfast is very nice with everything one can wish for and over all the service from the personell is outstanding. The hotel is located very convenient close to Ubahn station and very close to "innenstad". Nice, quiet area and safe to walk even at night.

Disappointing

I am spending every year around 100 times to hotels and this is one the worst i have ever stayed. They do not have parking, which it says they have and you must park 10 minutes away. Then they give me a room which is was very noisy…. The breakfast was also not that good.
