The sleep pods were lovely. Great air con and comfy beds. Staff were great and helpful. Large communal space and kitchen. Great find! Just don’t bring too large a suitcase….no elevators. Lol

clean and great location

The hostel is right behind the main bus stop in Queenstown and very easy to get around town. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The female’s dorm has its own bathroom which is convenient. The bed is comfy.

I was accommodated in a single room. First, the staff was super nice and helpful. The kitchen's equipment examplary. Nice lounge area. Everything seemed modern and clean. But: my room was quite loud. There was constant droning sound that earplugs couldn't get rid of. When somebody used the bathroom next door it became almost comically noisy. There was a large window but only a simple blind to cover. Also, it was quite cold both in the room and the bathroom but there were no heaters. When you pay a high rate like that you should expect more.

Great pod accommodation. Fab staff and location.

Staff were great, room was great, only thing that was disappointing was the TV, it only had netflix which was fine but it would buffer so I couldn't watch any tv. I ended up watching on my phone.

Good hostel stay

Awesome to stay here, be one of the cleanist hostels I've stayed in, great friendly staff and super helpful with directions and local attractions. Defo recommend and would stay here agsin

It was beyond my expectation.Hostel has pretty chilledout environment.Reception staff was very nice and welcoming.Very convenient location.Bustop,restaurants,lake,skyline is just 5-7 mins walk.For short stay and budget accommodation this is best option.Pods were neat and clean.

Clean, warm and friendly

Solo traveller here on a snowboarding trip stayed in the 6 pod room with ensuite for 4 nights and really pleased with my stay. Communal lounge and kitchen were warm and very clean. Bathrooms and showers were clean overall. Some of the showers didn’t have their shower doors close quite properly though so water would splash out quite easily so after a few showers the bath mat was soaked. But the staff had cleaned and dried the shower by the next day with a fresh bath mat so all good. Only needed to interact with reception staff a couple of times but they were all good and helpful when I did. Room was warm enough and even on the winter nights, there were some nights I had to kick the duvet off because it was too warm. But would rather have that than being cold. Luckily my fellow roomies were pretty chill too which made the stay nice. Also great that it’s so close to town and bus stop to go to airport. Will definitely stay here again.

The staff were very friendly the location was super convenient the only issue was there happen to be a lot of loud construction in the area at the time but that really wasnt the Hostel’s fault

Good location, a short walk to town so you don't have to deal with the loudness! Was a bit weird having one toilet in the room for 6 people, and then 1 toilet in the hallway. I could imagine there being a queue for the Toilet/Shower due to there not being too many. The Lounge area is nice a big, great place for hanging out, and has a nice view towards the Lake.

An experience

It was a wonderful place to stay close to city inner town to shops cafes wharf near restaurants. The pods in the dorms are lovely to sleep in an private. Huge kitchen with equipment in it nice dining area . Lounge part. A balcony to sit on . Really excellent price.

Super Hostel

I love staying at Tahuna Pod Its the third time this year feels like home away from home Staff super friendly and helpfull Beds are so comfy and kitchen is funky and clean Really recomend to stay there

Decent quality hostel in Queenstown. Service was great, staff was always friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, but room was rather small. Didn't seem to be enough toilets/showers relative to how many beds there were. Common area was open and comfortable, clean and well kept. The breakfast is very basic (waffles), but it's free and hearty. Limited parking. Great location, only 2 blocks from downtown Queenstown.

Best hostel i have stayed in!!

Clean, spacious and simple hostel accommodation in the heart of Queenstown. Works great for travelers in transit for a night or two. Kitchen is well equipped to make your own meal too.

Some of the staff could be a bit more enthusiastic when greeting guests into the property. Could also include multiple clothing drying racks inside each room as my personal belongings were touched and I ended up losing a face towel even though I labelled it with my name. I really liked how there were board games available as well as Netflix and that there were waffles and vegetable soup offered. That was a big plus for me.

Staff readily available to assist. Friendly service.

One recommened hostel in Queenstown. Convenient location near to the town centre. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hostel facilities clean and well organised. The free waffle breakfast and soup in dinner time are good treats. Hope the unsteady shower temperature could be improved.

Affordable, nice and clean hostel. Highly recommend for on the budget traveler. It is centrally located in the tiny city center of Queenstown

Definitely recommend!

Very friendly staff, really close to town. The car park of tight but can fit around 10 cars. Overall a great stay! Very comfortable double bed if you don't mind sharing with a friend;) best of all waffles in the morning! :D

The best stay I ever had

This hostel was the best I've ever stayed. All clean and comfortable. Close to the town center and a view from the lounge was nice.

Great location. Great amenities and very friendly staff

This hostel was truly amazing. The staff did a great job at keeping it clean and making sure it was regularly maintained. The common area was really well maintained. The people who stay here are also very respectful and a good crowd. The beds are comfortable and come with great outlets for your use and the pods are very smartly designed. There are a ton of free amenities that should definitely be taken advantage of (free breakfast, dinner are just some). I feel like the property was in a great place that was far enough from the business of town but was only a few minutes from the city! Truly would stay here again. Thank you to the staff and manager Holly who kept everything in tip-top.

Holly at reception was fantastic ... super friendly and helpful. My room was very quiet; had one of my best night's sleep in a backpackers ever.

The location is really good, within a minute’s walk from the town centre, and close to supermarkets and tour/activity agencies.

One night stay in a shared 4 bedded room dorm

The place gives a "too compact feel" and made us feel really claustrophobic... the pods/beds are really close to each other in the room, hallway really narrow... the toilets and bathrooms are ok, but there were no hooks to place your towels/clothes, floors were wet most of the time, soaked bath mats etc...just little things like that, but these are important things! The beds are really comfortable, and the pods themselves are well designed.

Great concept of private pods. Appreciated the free breakfast. Toilets and showers were clean, however the shower outside room 4 might have a bit of a drainage problem as you end up swimming after a couple of minutes

The location is perfect. Very near to our pick up and drop off locations for our tours. 5mins walk to the town centre. Very welcoming staff and we are very satisfied with the service. The place is well maintained.

Beautiful Queenstown stay

Loved the room -it was good sized and comfortable. The location is perfect and it is a short walk to the water or a grocery store. A downside is that the walls are thin.

I wasn’t able to use the laundry facilities due to not having coins to operate the machines. I walked around town to 3 different atms to get cash, but for whatever reason my US card wasn’t working

The hostel was great. Clean with fantastic facilities, Holly at reception was amazing!

Everything is fine with us except the person who needs to use the toilet at night and making up big noise while the door is closing.

Great location for one nights stay! Never stayed in a pod hostel before but it was v straight forward, comfortable and had a big common area with lots of dvds and kitchen facilities. Would stay again

Seriously, the bed that I had was the best among all hostels for my 2-week trip. It was comfortable, sturdy and quiet. Walking space in the room was not too spacious,but it worked out fine between us. Shower and toilet rooms were clean. The con of this hostel was, there isn't any kitchen paper towels and I'm not used to the cloth towels used by so many. As I used a trolley bag, I was shown an access of the side door via a slope. But inside the building, I still had problems carrying the bag.

Not too shabby

Perks I was not aware of prior to booking include the containers and fridges that might have free food from backpackers or other folks leaving. I love the option of reducing waste. Free soup in the evening. Full, well stocked kitchen area that you can basically make your own full meals in with plenty of fridge storage. Coffee, milk, tea available at all times. Grocery store just down the street. Overall not bad.

I like thaw place, I would stay there if I get a chance again.

Comfiest beds ever!!!!

We booked a double pod which ws super cute and had the comfiest mattress we have had on our 8 week trip!!! The pod had blackout curtains which was awesome so you didn’t get disturbed by people turning the room light on at any point.The only downside for us was that the living room was absolutely freezing which was really uncomfortable when waiting a few hours to check in. Other than that the hostel was great and the double pods are soo cute and cosy!!

Amazing hostel

Awesome hostel with your own privacy in a curtain 'pod'. Enough toilets and showers. Awesome kitchen and free breakfast/vegetable soup for dinner. The view is amazing, and the hostel is close to all the restaurants/bars and activities. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend this hostel to others.

A comfy hostel with lots of amenities! Free breakfast and soup for dinner is served on the daily. Free movies/Netflix, popcorn, and games to play during down time. The place is fairly clean and the location is close to downtown. There is a “dairy” (convenience store/market) right across the street that is less than a 5 minute walk. Free parking in the back. Overall, a pleasant experience and would highly recommend to any traveler/backpacker.

Great location, close to transport/town/activities. The cleanliness was fantastic. The pods are great because people can come and go and the curtains are almost block out. Unfortunately not the social hub I was hoping for, everyone stuck to themselves but if thats what you want its great.
