We waited 20minutes for the front desk lady to arrive. Then, after checking in an hour and a half after check-in, we walked into the room and the lady was still making our bed. Otherwise, clean rooms.
CHECK-INS AFTER 6P ARE BY APPOINTMENT. Luckily I saw this little detail when looking for the address and phone number the day before I arrived and was able to call ahead to make sure someone would be able to check me in since my flight wasn't scheduled to land until 612p. But pic are true to what you get. Had my 1st aloo pies for breakfast at the restaurant. Highly recommend them!
Close to the ferry dock. The food and drinks are good and served by a very good staff. If you get a water side room there will be some road noise as the main road is right under you
Everything was great, but it did not an elevator for those on the top floor, especially if you have problems with your feet.
Great accommodations, beautiful views.
Local hotel with nice accommodations. Nothing "Fancy" but has what you need for comfort. Grocery store in walking distance to pick up what you may need. Walkable to Ferry(Travel to Virgin Gorda) & Pier Park where cruise ships come in so plenty of shops, restaurants etc. No Beach in this area so Travel to one is inconvenient...no local bus service, but always possible :)Taxi service is EXPENSIVE. Pool was not available (not cleaned), maybe because of Hurricane Ernesto. I enjoyed my stay!
Nice hotel
Very convenient location. Good value for the money. Very helpful staff.
The outstanding thing about this property is its restaurant. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. It is a hidden gem known only to the locals. A steady stream of them come through all day long to pick up take away.
Older but clean nice staff
No hot water for a few days
No hot water last couple days there.
End of sailing
We were very comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. The room was nice and cold and up to date. The lamp worked but was broken somewhat but I made it work. We were free to be us. It was nice.
Nice views.
A good location near the pier, nice views of the harbor from the upper floor apartments, and a comfortable bed. We wish there had been utensils, plates and bowls to go with the refrigerator and microwave. In addition, be ready for lots of stairs.
KPs review sea view
we stayed one night after returning from a 10 day sail. The restaurant was the best part of the Seaview hotel. The food was excellent and the service in the restaurant was good. The hotel and room are old. Our room is on the second floor with no offer to help carry our very heavy bags up two flights of stairs. Our room also faced the water, which was obstructed by trees and was not a sea view! Our room faced the road with constant noise all night long. We had a deluxe room with two twin beds, and a balcony. The beds were hard and the pillows were flat. The balcony was lovely, but the noise was not!
The staff was helpful. loved the proximity to walk to some great restaurants on the shore line
We had a pleasant stay.
1 star level at best. Close to TMM base but roads are terrible to walk on especially with luggage. Room was very basic and patio furniture for balcony was in room. Booked and paid for a king bed and was told they would only have two twin beds when we checked in. Horriby overpriced for what you get compared to same price for Wyndham.
The room there was not worth $230 for one night. I booked a room with a King size bed and we got 2 twin beds pushed together and the refrigerator was not working. Eating at the restaurant was the only good experience
Pool is nice
This is a hotel that needs investment. The people were lovely, but the hotel was vey basic. The wifi didn’t work and there’s nothing around. That said as a 1 night place to say it was ok. Beyond that, avoid.
Staff at check in and restaurant are very nice and helpful.
The restaurant, run as an independent operation, was wonderful. The rooms were clean and perfectly air-conditioned.
The staff was awesome just that there was maintenance work going on in such busy time. The internet was horrible.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, room was clean and everything worked. Small bar and restaurant area different, but gave nice atmosphere. Food was excellent
Staff is friendly. Room is so-so. I think they are trying to keep it clean. Much like a Motel 6. When these reviews say the TV doesn’t work, it’s because although there are TV’s, there is no TV service AT ALL (so why have TVs?). Internet is minimal. Don’t count on it. Probably would not stay here again.
Television and refrigerator were not working. Also no phones in room if room service is needed or to make a call. Other than that great place.
Restaurant had nice food. People were pleasant for sure
Poor
No tv poor conditions
Hotel was basic but clean and in a great position, 6 minute walk to the bars and restaurants, ferry terminal and not far from cruise quay. Pool was cute and inhouse restaurant was very good and very reasonable prices.
Close proximity to where I was conducting business. Internet was horrible and the TV was quite small
Nice park across street..good food at restraunt..rooms have no tv service ..price too high..bad wifi in rooms..good in pool area..close distance to town..
The housekeeping staff was a little behind schedule so there was a delay with the 3 p.m. check in time. However, I was pleased with the receptionist professionalism and ability to quickly correct the situation.
Nice typical Caribbean hotel. Very clean older property. New A/C units. Good value. Very helpful staff.
Very spartan rooms. Ceiling fan blades were so warped from humidity that they drooped 8” and fan would not even spin. Room was located next to pool pump room with loud pump filter noises every 30 minutes. Staff was friendly but curt. Very obvious that there is a hotel supply issue and demand is high. No desire to maintain property amenities or extend anything beyond basic courtesy to patrons. $171 USD for a 1 night stay at this hotel was a very underwhelming experience.
Friendly staff and restaurant was surprisingly tasty.
Well...you get what you pay for
The room walls are very thin. You will hear every conversation your neighbor is a having. The bathrooms were so small. My knees touched the wall when sitting in the toilet. Didn’t sleep much, but it’s close to the ferry
Staff was nice. The place is difficult to park in. The WiFi was horrible practically non existent. Even in the office it was not acceptable. Location is good
Dirty room with no ventilation, noisy, filthy!!
Sea View Hotel- BVI
I was staying at the Sea View Hotel for one night. I'll start with the negatives: the hotel is old and worn as was the room. The room had nowhere to sit, had a bedside lamp but no obvious place to plug it in. I eventually found a socket that it would reach in the closet. Coincidentally, that is also where I found the TV! The cable connection for the tv didn't work but I could at least use it as a monitor. The worst thing for me was the lack of a proper curtain. The room had a large window covered with a net curtain so I was woken early by the sun streaming in the window. On the positive side the staff were extremely friendly and there is a small, outdoor restaurant and bar which was inexpensive but with good, local food and great service. Location wise, it is a 5 minute stroll to the centre of Road Town. All in all, I do find hotel accommodation actually in Road Town quite sparse so choices are limited so if you need something close to the centre and don't mind a basic hotel then you could do worse than stay at the Sea View.
Nice hotel
Did a one night stay on way to pick up a charter yacht that I was there to captain. Was a nice place with a good staff and had a good supper and breakfast. Room was cold and the shower hot what else can you ask for in a room. Will stay there the next time I go down to captain..
Didn't stay at this Hotel!
Not certain why you keep sending me this review email. I have not stayed in this hotel in 7 years.
A Cozy and Clean Place to Stay Near the Ferry
Walking distance from the ferry, with cheerful, clean rooms and a pool.A very nice restaurant and bar are also on the premises. It simply cannot be beaten for the price. Some rooms have balconies and nice views of the harbor.
Great time and would stay again!
We only stayed one night - but the rooms were very clean, and once we turned the a/c unit on it was very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool/restaurant/bar the afternoon we arrived and then had breakfast the next morning. The food was amazing - dinner and breakfast! The staff was incredibly nice and we all had a lot of fun!
Hidden gem on Tortola
This hotel is a hidden gem. Very small, comfortable, great little pool to refresh in after a long day of travel. NICEST people on earth. An added huge bonus was the Circle Cafe on the property. Outdoor seating at bar by pool and seriously amazing food. I had the mahi mahi with creole sauce (the special of the day), with mango salad and rice. Breakfast the next morning was the best omelet we have ever had. The best part was the staff of the cafe. Cordial, professional, friendly, funny......our group of 11 was sad to leave our new friends and favorite food behind. I would recommend this hotel and the Circle Cafe to everyone with confidence.
Very close to downtown and the ferry terminal. I had room nine which had a single window too high to see out of. Small beds but the room was clean and the a/c worked well.
Nice and clean.
Meet our expectations. Jack was a good host. Rooms were very clean. It was just a overnight stop for us.
night between yatch and plane on Tortola
bed needs to be replaced. Highlight was cleanliness and good soundproofing of rooms vs nearby street noise. Despite ongoing road construction and dust, staff were on top of keeping bar-resto clean as well as walkways etc. restaurants and shopping nearby.
A Caribbean family owned hotel
Very plain hotel, but what I would expect in staying in a family owned facility. Our room, very clean but spartan and a great room rate!! Hotel is close to downtown Road Town, maybe a 10-15 minute walk to shops, bars, restaurants. The Circle restaurant/bar at the hotel opened in November 2016 and again, family owned with a definite Caribbean feel. Our impression was like a family owned B&B. We will recommend with the understanding it is not a resort, not a resort feeling, but a quiet, clean, spartan place for one or two nights. Try the homemade coconut bread!
An OK but not great place to stay
We stayed at the SeaView for a night before and a night after a sailboat charter out of Road Town. It was an ok place to "bunk" for the night but I would not recommend it for anything else. The rooms are clean but bare-bones. During one stay, we had no hot water and the ceiling of the room leaked during a rain shower: we woke up to a small puddle in the middle of the floor: no harm done but had my bag been a foot to the left, it would have a different matter. The young lady at the reception desk was very nice: called a cab for us when we needed one. There is a small cafe: we had a nice breakfast and a nice lunch there: simple but good. It's close to the ferry dock, so it's a short work to the town center where the restaurants are located: if you have luggage, use a taxi.
A place to hang your hat after or before sailing
Clean place. Great restaurant with very accommodating people. Not a 5 star but perfect for our needs.
It was an amazing trip top of by a wonderful stay at the sea view hotel. I would stay there again
Diamond in the Rough
This 1950s era hotel appears nondescript from the outside. We chose it because of its proximity to conch Charters, and we stayed a few nights before and after a weeklong sailboat charter. Were we in for a surprise! The entire place is spotless - the housekeeping staff sweeps/vacuums and mops every floor every day. Linens are fresh and good quality - none of those non-absorbent towels. The staff is extremely friendly, extremely courteous, and very helpful - they are happy to fulfill any request. As a bonus, the on-site small restaurant (Circle??) is surprisingly good. Try their panini or cranberry-and-brie pizza.
Nice place
Walking distance to everything, except a beach. Nice pool, friendly staff, homey atmosphere. Would stay here again.
Better than ho-hum
the sea view would happen if they removed the power poles and remove the trees that blocked our view. On a main road and a lot of noisy traffic. Refer broke. I hit it and it worked for about two days. The room was awesome. If you wanted shampoo or hairdryer you had to ask for it. The restaurant on site was awesome and they were very accommodating and friendly. Location was great. We walked to it from the ferry.
Sea View Hotel
The room was adequate. I needed a place to sleep for 1 night. The Frig was not working. Everything else was fine and clean. The staff were all pleasant.
2 star motel
This is the equivalent of a Motel 6 in the Caribbean but for double the price.
Cheap and comfortable.
The room was adequate for a quick overnight stay and is pretty close to everything. It was just what we needed.
Very nice small hotel, great location
I am recently a widow and planned a day trip on the ferry to Anegada. I wanted a hotel within walking distance to the ferry in Road Town. The reviews online were very good, so I booked. I walked from the ferry to the hotel. It was quite an easy walk on a flat road. The hotel staff was very attentive and helpful. They all try to make your stay pleasant. The room is Spartan but very clean with a good shower with very hot water. There is cable TV, a fridge, AC and a comfortable bed. The restaurant in the hotel has a nice menu. The chef is wonderful. Everything I ate there was terrific. The restaurant attracts an interesting group of locals who are very friendly.
You will not be happy.
Do Not Stay. This is a 2 star hotel? Maybe true. No stars from my experience. They cant even operate cable and TV issues. I actually had to tell them what to do. It must not be the same management.
Perfectly good
Slightly small windows and rooms but otherwise clean and nice friendly hotel with charm
Great budget stay in Tortola
Great place from which to catch the ferry in Road Town. Also, a good grocery store is only a few minutes' walk in the other direction. Would definitely stay here again.
No sleep -noisy and road construction
Very disappointed as the hotel was not as depicted on the website. The hotel is on a busy street and although we had a view of the ocean across the street there was all kinds of garbage in the water. Also there was road construction that went from 10 pm until 5 am - jackhammers, big trucks, etc! It was impossible to sit outdoors because of the road noise and dust. We had booked for 2 nights and were forced to find a different hotel for the second night if we wanted to get any sleep.
Unpleasant
The hotel is located on an extremely busy and dusty road. If you sit out on a room patio for any time you become quickly covered in road dust. The town is a short walk away, but it's an unpleasant walk because of traffic with limited pedestrian separation. Pool water is grey with road dust. The cafe on the property is comfortable and the food isn't bad, but the service seems almost deliberately and consistently rude so you will be wishing you were eating/drinking somewhere else. I was in two rooms on different floors. Neither had any ocean view and the ground floor one had the least daylight of any room I've ever stayed in.
Affordable main reason we stayed. Desk gal was easy going with us, but there is not a person on duty all the time. There is no phone in the room, so if a problem, one has to trek down and about through the restaurant, ring a bell and wait. Restaurant is managed by different people and has a decent selection.
Great value good food
Basic but very clean wonderful people great price for BVI hotel
Nice!!!
Great experience!! Nice location and view! Clean clean clean!
Nice hotel and great value
Great stay and great value. Less than 10 mins walk on level ground to the ferry terminal and Road Town. Nice staff. Small but adequate room. The only con - the room had a relatively large kitchen section, but not equipped with anything, which I thought was odd. We bought cereals for breakfast, but had no bowls or spoons. The staff did provide these when asked, and said the standard rooms don't have these. Surely people staying on a budget are more likely to want to use this feature.
Was satisfied with my stay at the Sea View Hotel
Spent a Sunday night at the Sea View Hotel after a SunSail charter. The Sea View is an older small locally owned hotel a short walk from the ferry and town. If you need a new or fully refurbished 4-5 star resort the Sea View Hotel is not for you. If all you need is a comfortable room and clean bathroom with plenty of hot water, good a/c, cable TV, free strong internet, pool and can overlook minor nicks and dings the Sea View is a good choice. The hotel provides solid basics for a fair price. Would recommend and will stay there again.
Sea View Hotel gave me all I needed for a 1 night stay. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Good location. Small room, but has everything we needed for a low price.
Comfortable basic hotel, with a friendly welcome
The new bar and restaurant facility opened since our last stay back in November has really improved the place. Breakfast is not included, but prices are reasonable. The omelette for breakfast was delicious, and the staff made us feel very welcome.
good overall

Value hotel
Poor quality hotel but relatively cheap. I suppose you get what you pay for.
