Great views! Room was basic! Be ready to climb the stairs.

We enjoyed our stay at Uphill Cottage! The staff was super nice & views were amazing, plus it’s right next to the Phi Phi viewpoint & 5-10 minutes away from bars/restaurants. If you’re coming to this island, you’re likely aware of the party atmosphere - the music did not stop until 3-4am! The only other downside was Expedia listed an 8am check-in, but we could not get into our room until 2.

Even though there quite a few stairs the propriety is clean and has a wonderful view. The staff is exceptional and extremely kind. I would stay here again.

This property gives you the bare necessities, and not much more. The view is excellent, and you have to climb a lot of stairs if you’re staying in the higher up cottages. We really didn’t need much more for our stay in phi phi, and found it affordable when comparable to other accommodations. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you don’t hear much at night, but bring earplugs if you’re sensitive to noise. Mattress was not very comfortable, but we were happy with our stay for the 2 nights we stayed. Staff were excellent, very helpful, and provided us with beach/pool towels along with bath towels.

Loved staying here! Me and my friend came with 3 large bags in total and were terrified of having to lug them all the way to our room after a long travel day. Not only was there a staff member waiting for us to get off the ferry to carry our luggage to the cottage, but then also carried it all the way up the stairs to our room! Beautiful view and far enough away from the beach to where you won't be bothered by the loud music at night. Cleaned your room every day if you wanted it and thank god it had good AC! They even let us have a late check out and keep our bags in the front during the day before our ferry left. Definitely recommend staying here.

For the price and location it was fine

As the name states, it’s uphill - however the staff are VERY helpful and carry all bags for you! They also offer a free service to collect/drop you to the ferry port which cannot be faulted. In great location and below the viewpoint! Did have a few cockroach guests in the room but the room was one of the first rooms closer to the reception, so think the higher you are the less chance of this happening. Room is pretty basic, but has it charms! Price could be lowered slightly but did have air con! Overall happy with stay! Thank you Uphill Cottage

If youre the type of person who doesnt mind a few steps and are in shape i reccomend to get the rooms way at the top, the view is phenomenal! Althought it can sure get tiring getting up there. Make sure you get a room according to the shape you are in. This place is also about a 10 mins walk from the market and madness , and it can get tricky getting back if youre feeling a bit tipsy make sure youre aware of the location. Overall great, i would book again .

Beautiful view, especially st the pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Appreciated the help from the ferry to hotel!

It was quiet compared to places near the beach, and comvenient to all restaurants, cafes. It was centrally located. Staff carried my bag up and down the stairs, so no worries. A very hot shower, excellent linens, great forcthe price.

I read the reviews so I knew what to expect. This is a good place for the price. Cons: the stairs. If you don’t mind them (which I didn’t) you’re fine. And be aware that the sea view is from a side. Pros: you’re very close to the center but don’t get the noise, so you will sleep! It’s basic but has all you need.

Lovely stay at Uphill Cottage

We had a lovely stay at Uphill Cottages. The room was spacious and clean and the view from our balcony was gorgeous. The beds were comfortable, aircon worked well & it was a bonus having a fridge in the room. Compared to the other accommodation available on Phi Phi, Uphill Cottage is superb value for money. The pool is very small but perfect for cooling off in and meeting other travellers. The only downside is the many steps up to the rooms, exhausting but worth it. I would happily stay here again.

better options available

It is a bit far from the pier, the swimming pool is small and it is not very clean. The room we had it was awful, the toilet was broken, and it was leaking a little bit when we flused it, causing a awful smell in the bathroom. The roof was very noisy when rainning.

Horrible hotel, stay elsewhere...anywhere

They started off with a classic "air conditioner is broken let us put you in different hotel and then move you tomorrow" this is a standard scam. They own or work with a lesser property that you would not normally book. Once you are in they know you will not want to move or AC will still be broken the next day. When I said no, they said okay...magically the AC was fixed!! Upon arrival the staff was sullen, grumpy and non cooperative. I watched as they pulled the ac broken scam on the next group of five that fell for it. "Rooms" are small non insulated cabins that sit in full sun so in the afternoon get up to around 100 plus degrees. The small ac units only work when you are in the room BUT they have no change to get the room cool as it gets to hot. The AC worked but not until around 2 am did it get cool in the room. Non insulated means you can see out of the cracks in the walls and also bugs can get in. The shower drain was plugged meaning the bathroom floods with each shower, the toilet backup and never really cleared. I know it is cheap but there are 100 better hotels on this island for the same price. I had booked two rooms for four days but the other couple could not stay here and we sacrificed the money and we also left after 2 nights...it was just not pleasant. If the staff was decent and didn't start with a scam I can tolerate a cheap hotel but this place is just not tolerable. There are much better options on the island, keep looking.

The reception staff was rude when we check in,not friendly at all,seen light we cannot afford to stay at this hotel,she thought that this is our first visit to phi-phi island and we had a bad time to stay at this hotel,we would not recommend this hotel to our friend

Clean room great view

The room was really clean and the balcony overlooking the island was great. The staff were very friendly and carried our bags up the stairs to our room. There were a few stairs but it wasn't a hassle. Beds in Thailand are always hard but these ones were pretty good. Definitely not the hardest we slept on. I would recommend this place to anyone.

room was better then tropical garden which is next door, not to loud either considering the noise on phi phi at night and bearable, room was good, bit of a trek up to the room but good view and pool, also saw loads of monkeys :)

A high room with a view

we got room 30 & 31, top of the Top Hill. the morning guest were small monkeys on the roof while enjoying a superb view just under the view point. nice staff. nice room as advertised.

Budget travelers, privacy, cardiovascular training

Located half way up the hill on one side of Tonsai town, it is close to all the action yet secluded enough for a good night sleep. It is on 20min pass the path going up phi phi view point at the end of the road. Best for active young couples or small family with active kids who do not mind climbing 4 flights of stairs to get to their room every time they want to go out. It takes roughly 5-10min walk from the Tonsai Bay ferry terminal to cross the centre of the town to get to. So if you have heavy luggages you need to hire people with push carts at 50 baht per person to carry your luggages to the hotel. The hotel provide minimum room services and only clean your room upon request. The room is basic and internet signal strength varies between cabins. Our only issue with the room is the single dim light it had, but we didn't come to phiphi to stay in the room. Check in was hassle free but do not expect the personnel to be on ur beck and call outside working hours. The pool was clean, well maintaned and big enough for a comfortable dip but not free of floating bugs. There will be monkeys visiting in late afternoon so you need to lock your rooms and not leave food lying around. Overall, the place is good for its price range and sufficient it you are not too fussy about details.

Amazing value for money

Only stayed here for 3 days on our travel around Thailand and by far the best value for money and comfiest bed!

Had a great stay at Uphill Cottage overall. Our rooms had a very nice view, the pool was fantastic and the rooms were cleaned daily. The short walk was perfectly tucked away from the chaos of the party scene, the stairs were intense but worth the view and seclusion. We even had a family of monkeys swing by our patio and around the pool, which was a real treat! Downfalls included TERRIBLE (literally non-existent) Internet- in their defence I don't think the internet anywhere was great, terrible showers (zero pressure, worst we've had in Thailand) and not the friendliest of front staff. Overall we had a great time staying in rooms here and would recommend them to anyone who doesn't have their heart set on wifi and showers.

Clean rooms on the hill.

We stayed here for almost 2 weeks in total, and rebooked several times. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we liked that the hotel is actually a short walk away from the town centre as it means that it was much quieter at night. All rooms have a balcony in the front, and if you stay at one of the more expensive rooms you have a good view of both sides of the island. The lower rooms do not really have a sea view. The rooms were cleaned daily on request, and there is also a swimming pool. Being up on the hill also gave us a slight breeze which was nice in the evenings. The a/c is very efficient. The area felt safe, and I would recommend this hotel.

was good, we originally had no fridge in the room even though the booking had it listed, mentioned it to them and then next day we had a fridge when we got back to the hotel. One annoyance, there were no power plugs near the bed so couldn't use a few devices while relaxing at night

Pretty good, but too expensive for Thailand

5 minutes away from the beach. Very helpful staff. Old but clean. Walls are made of paper: not the best for neighbour and hot weather. Value for money: Too expensive

O hotel é bem simples mas atende. Cama confortável, ar condicionado funcional, chuveiro bom (apesar do banheiro ser pequeno). A vista é legal. Fica longe das festas que tem na ilha a noite. O único porém é que o hotel fica no alto de um morro, cheio de escadas, o que é cansativo. Mas pelo menos quando chegamos eles nos ajudaram a subir com as malas. O banheiro poderia ser melhor.

ピピ島のこの価格では良いのではないでしょうか。 景色が良いが部屋到着までは登山並みです。 プールは水が汚いです。

Estadia simples mas com ótimo custo-beneficio

O hotel fica no final da parte comercial de Phi Phi o que ajuda na tranquilidade do local. O quarto em si é bem básico , mas o chuveiro e o ar condicionado funcionaram muito bem. De aspecto negativo fica o colchão e a simplicidade do quarto. De todo modo, é um ótimo custo benefício considerando o valor da diária.

Nydelig utsikt! Fine rom med enkel standard. Og en helt fantastisk utsikt over begge buktene og havet. Hyttene våre lå nesten øverst med jungelen rett bak. Fikk besøk av aper den ene natten. Bassenget var dessverre en skuffelse. Lite og fullt av innsekter.

We’ve had a good stay at the Uphill cottage hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, helpt with our luggage all the way up to our room. And also down again when we checked out👍Every day they gave us clean towels and water. The view was very nice untop, you could see the see from two sides. I would recommend this hotel, however, you have to be fit to climb the stairs to your room!

The view from the rooms were very nice. I enjoyed it very much. But the room need urgently some renovations and are outdated. The personell was very friendly and supportive. I haven’t used the pool but it was looking clean. I would visit the hotel again but recommend urgently a renovation of the rooms.

Grimpette de 90 marches, très belle vue, au calme, super accueil très sympathique des propriétaires.

Generally is a good location and quite in the night. Close to everything you need in the island. However the cottage need maintenance and it’s very small with bad lighting. It’s a bit of overpriced.

Fantastisk utsikt men till priset av att kämpa

Rummet hade fantastisk utsikt men det låg otroligt högt upp, det var många många många trappsteg för att komma dit. Rekommenderar att boka ett rum längre ned. Vattnet i duschen gick inte att reglera och trycket var dåligt. Sängen var väldigt hård. Men för en vistelse med några få nätter så gick det fint! Bra service och jättetrevlig personal i receptionen.

Je ne sais pas comment les gens font pour dire que c'est exceptionnel cet hôtel !! 🤔 Il n'a absolument rien d'exceptionnel !!! Zéro confort, propreté moyenne et clim qui goûté sur ma valise et mouillé tous mes fringues. Jai payé 48 euros la première nuit et le lendemain j'ai quitté pour un autre hôtel moins cher et beaucoup beaucoup mieux !!!

Buona esperienza

Tante tante scale per arrivare alla nostra stanza, ma una vista meravigliosa dal terrazzo! stanza un pochino vecchia ma pulita. Staff gentilissimo, abbiamo incontrato un ragazzo al porto che ci ha portato la valigia sino all'hotel e sin sopra la camera. Piscina molto carina

窓もドアも隙間だらけですが、蚊には刺されませんでした。シャワールームにムカデはでましたが・・・。エアコンの温度調整が出来ず、寒すぎました。鍵もカードキーではなく、旅館の鍵みたいで、夜は持ち歩かなくてはなりませんし、それが電源キーになるので、帰ってくるたびに冷蔵庫がぬるくなっています。

Hospedaje básico , no hotel!!!

Un hotel muy desalineado, difícil de encontrar, personal casi inexistente, habitaciones que no corresponden con las fotos, y escalinatas fatales, si bien ya lo sabía no esperábamos que fueran tan pesadas!!!

Room is good for sleeping and spacious but nothing special. There is some stairs to climb but the view was nice from the room so it is worth the effort.

Kleines nettes zimmer in anhöhe. Die Einrichtung war schon etwas abgenutzt und eben klein. Dafür eine schöne aussicht , viel grün, wie im zoo :-) Auch affrn haben zu beginn hallo gesagt
