Great place for onsen outside usual popular locations. Place gives an upmarket feel and provides good quality. Very impressed with Breakfast buffet and Dinner buffet. Getting here will require a car ride as it is literally in the middle of nowhere. Has a 7-11 (opens till 2200) within 2 mins walk. A 24-H Hi-Life convenient store will require a drive out.

A Pleasant Stay

I recently stayed at Onsen Papawaqa and had an overall enjoyable experience. **Check-In Process:** The check-in process was easy and hassle-free. **Room:** The room was spacious, clean, and came with interesting local complimentary snacks. The highlight was the big hot-spring tub, which was perfect for relaxation. **Breakfast:** The breakfast was nice, offering a mix of Taiwanese, Chinese, and Japanese foods. However, the restaurant layout could be troublesome for some, as it requires navigating stairs to access the food areas. **Communal Hot-Spring:** The communal outdoor hot-spring, referred to as the "naked hot-spring," was quite mediocre. It was underused and not well-maintained, with leaves accumulating in the tub. **Service:** The service by the staff was very good. While English communication was sometimes challenging, the staff tried their best to be helpful in every situation. **Location:** The only downside is the location, which is about a 30-minute drive from the town of Miaoli. Overall, I had a good experience at Onsen Papawaqa, with the spacious room and private hot-spring tub being the standout features.

This Onsen Hotel is absolutely stunning. Our stay was amazing as my wife and I had a very relaxing time during our stay as we took advantage of the common area on-site amazing onsen baths and swimming pool. The Breakfast buffet was very tasty as-well giving you a plethora of options.

Serenity heaven, loved the priacy of in room hot spring, a hidden jewels in Miaoli. Highly recommended

Overrated

1. The hotel driveway was nice and the staffs were polite and welcoming. 2. The hotel compound and the facing of the rooms were nice. 3. Our room was beside the meeting room and it got noisy when they loitered outside the meeting room or walking passed. 4. The lighting of the room was very dim and we often turn on our handphone light to look for things in our luggages. 5. The room looked clean on the surface but it was not. The was a cockroach on the platform bed and we realised both of us had insect/bed bites on our legs and hands the next day. 6. The room was poorly designed and not functional. We had to take a big step up to the platform bed and a big step down to use the basin. From the basin, we had to take a step up and a step down to use the WC. Imagine how many times we had to do that in a day. 7. There wasn’t even enough place to put the hand soap, cups to brush teeth on the basin area so it was placed on the floor when we check-in. 8. The restaurant served good famous local food but the design of the restaurant was a flaw. We had to climb stairs to get to the food area and down to your dining table. We witnessed a child tripped and fell on the stairs and broke the plate. 9. This hotel is not child and elderly friendly.

A quiet but beautiful onsen resort

The hotel is about 1 1/2 hour drive from Taichung, setting in a very quiet but beautiful area. It will be more convenient if you self drive or have a catered car. There are strawberries picking and nice scenery lookout nearby. Our room have an outdoor onsen, good size for family of 4, my kids enjoyed soaking so much. The hotel uses branded amenities which is a plus for the ladies. The public onsen area has a nice view, with hot and cold spring pools. There is a drinking bar providing complimentary hot (ginger tea) and cold beverages. And guests required to wear swim cap or shower cap at the outdoor onsen. Staff are very attentive and friendly. They featured local delicacies at breakfast, however choices are limited. My family enjoyed the 2 nights stay, feeling relax and refresh.

Good decoration but weird no photo policy

Excellent decoration in the rooms and all facilities, excellent quality of spring water, good service from the front desk and restaurant. The hot spring wood tub in the room was on point! However, they have this weird policy about no photos in the swimming pool area. I mean banning people to take photos of their beautiful pool and post on their social media, which just doesn't make much sense nowadays.

There was not much else besides the hot spring in the area, making the trip less of a wow than it could've been.

Total relaxation

A good hot spring experience. Private onsen tub with jacuzzi and cold tub. 95% of our time was spent in the hotel to enjoy onsen and the scenic view from our private onsen area over looking the river and mountain.

Onsen Papawaqa needs improvement

It was generally good. However, small details need improvement. Example, the pillows are too soft. there should be options to choose different types of pillows available (Hard, medium, Soft). There is also no door/separation between shower/spa area and bedroom. The hot air from the spa area will affect the temp of the bedroom as well as the humidity.

lovely location and great hot springs. onsen in room was novel and fun. evening buffet meal was expensive and not very good so recommend eating out. staff helpful. nice long lap pool for regular swimming.

Great view

I actually spent a great day there. But the con is there are not too many restaurants around. If you would like to have gourmet, I would highly recommend you to dine somewhere else instead of having it at hotel. The surroundings are great, fresh air and great view. That is a huge plus.

Enjoyable experience with a great outdoor bath

Had a great time with impressive room. We booked the lowest cost room, which worked out to be about $180. Got a room across the street from the main building. The room came with a personal bath / onsen. The bathroom was as big as, if not bigger than the sleeping area. The outdoor onsen itself is quite an experience. There were not that many people around when we went so we kinda got the whole onsen to ourselves. Overall, had a good time there. Even my little boy at 6 months enjoyed the onsen.

房間溫泉有前位房客留下的垃圾沒清到，以這個價位來看，設施有點偏舊。 服務人員很客氣，早餐不錯。

整體上非常優良，是一個很值得再去的地方。

住宿環境和員工服務係100分，但自助餐係要付款，但出餐慢，去到差不無就要出菜，款式少，味道普通，最差要行梯台才到坐位，剛巧我和家人都係長者，行多兩次巳腳痛😅，他們巳不願取食物了，令我相當不滿，因為其中一位家人是慶祝65歲生日😓其實佢睇過－個台灣旅遊節目來去check in介紹得好好由其係自助餐，真係令我好失望！

由於位於山上，所以環境十分寧靜，附近環境優美，房間設備齊全，十分舒適，早餐款式選擇多，泊車方面，酒店亦很貼心，早已安排泊車位。至於職員方面，服務態度很好。

如果只評價房間滿意度的話會給五顆星，但服務的話只能給三顆星，因為以一個晚上房價要價八千多來說，服務顯然不夠到位不值得這個房價。 第一個是停車指引，當天到達是已經晚上，但指標也不清楚會讓人摸不著頭緒車子應該先停放哪邊再去進行入住手續，指揮人員也沒有指引的很明確，然後整體來說有接觸到的飯店人員，其實稱不上友善且感覺每個都沒有靈魂的在工作，飯店人員很沒有存在感，令人覺得好似入住了一個全自助的飯店。 飯店早餐整體來說偏中式，且種類較少，有些食物都已冷掉，且飯店人員好像很希望把大家都集中在同一區管理，每張桌子都離的很近，跟隔壁房客吃飯有點近乎並肩一起吃，在安排早餐用餐位置上覺得可以更人性化體貼房客用餐的舒適度一點。 優點就是房間非常大，泡湯池也很大，房間用品都蠻用心的，也打掃的很乾淨，但服務真的需要再改善，才會想讓人花這樣不低的房價再訪。

完美的兩天一夜

因為最近吃海鮮素，飯店晚餐特地請廚師幫忙準備素食餐點，覺得很貼心，素食本身也非常好吃。一切都很完美，有機會會在二訪。

隔音不好，晚上居然有沖水聲等噪音，實在很難想像是這種價位的住宿品質

不值得這個價錢

網路上訂的房型，到現場卻是不同房型，跟櫃檯詢問後，只說照片的房間需要指定？廁所沒乾濕分離，很容易滑倒，而且很沒隱私。服務也是很一般，員工都非常的制式化，退房時也沒詢問住宿滿意度。早餐真的很難吃，麵包類像在夜市買的麵包一樣廉價。唯一的優點只有在戶外泡湯滿舒適的。

用餐環境不優

用餐老人家被安排在最底的那一階，很不方便，用餐也1個半小時，餐點也不齊量也少，等跑上跑下取到餐後，用餐時間已經快到了。連假14000元的價錢真的cp值非常非常低

廚餘處理應該要改善

大部分都很好，也很安靜乾淨，但餐廳動線超差！竟然是要客人拿著自助餐盤子走階梯。另外服務生丟棄廚餘的地方竟然在自助拿取水果處的下面，廚餘噴濺到階梯上。很危險也很影響食慾。

台中開車過去要1小時但酒店環境非常舒適，享受了一個舒服温泉假期.要批評的是早餐餐廳拿食物後要走樓梯回檯上有點不方便因為安排坐離食物區最遠的位置

打掃待加強

房間內靠近玻璃的地方有一隻昆蟲，還有建議打掃的時候戴上浴帽，剛進房看到浴缸的軟塞上面有一搓長髮。吹風機達新牌，吹完頭髮很乾，除濕機聲音很大，以定價9500的房價來說，可以再加強。

此次入住觀雲房型, 房內空間方正, 感覺很寬敞沒有壓迫感, 整潔度也很好. 房內溫泉很舒服, 唯一待改善的大概是淋浴蓮蓬頭的水壓以及溫度. 工作人員態度都很好. 整體上來說這次經驗還不錯, 以後有機會會再來住.

放鬆的2天

大眾池及泳池很棒，我住二館 房間樓層低、比較小且昏暗，下次應該會嘗試一館。戶外泡湯的景色很美，裸湯還好，早餐也不錯，很放鬆的2天，下次還會來！

不夠寧靜的大自然旅館

在生日特別安排來住宿，結果有一些失望。房間晚上一直有機房的轟轟聲，因為在寧靜的大自然可以好好睡一覺。早餐普通，連一杯像樣的咖啡都沒有，拿鐵奶泡結塊，黑咖啡不好喝，幸好是用免費住宿兌換，不然會很生氣。

很漂亮的建築，早餐也非常豐富和美呋。 可惜晚餐上菜混亂，沙律未吃完，切雞鮮魚蔬菜燉湯已放滿一桌，未能慢慢品嘗。 户外溫泉區很大很美，但只提供每人一條毛巾，泡湯時用了想再多取一條沐浴用竟被拒絕，太奇怪了。 設施的保養和員工的培訓可進一步提升。

我們是來這裡替朋友求婚，飯店人員非常有經驗，也替我們安排得很好！我們在房間要用電視玩switch，飯店也馬上請技師幫我們裝線，真的是一間非常好的旅館

Nice hotel. Very good set-up. So is the spa. Excellent choice enjoying tranquility. Less positive aspects are no much activities other than hiking / trail walk or book reading. Overall, it is a good choice for a short break of up to 2 nights stay.

房間的動線欠佳，馬桶在一邊，洗手檯在另一邊，中間隔著高起的平台，不注意的話(尤其晚上上廁所時)容易跌倒。基本上，洗手間內高高低低，是一個不安全的環境。房間以黑色為主，頗為陰暗

A hotel do not disappoint you

Convenient to go nearby sightseeing spots. Hotel has a long outdoor swimming pool, covered hot spring areas. We go at low season, so not much guests, we can enjoy the swimming pool and hot spring areas. There are different choices of food near the hotel. Chinese food, veggie hot pot or local seasonal dishes (fish and fresh vegetables are our favorite, we went twice!) They upgrade our rooms, facing to the river, water is running 24 hours downstream. View from the room is wonderful like a picture! Breakfast is filled with quality food. This hotel is full of well trained, polite staff, which it is not easy to experience in other hotel. Hotel staff Alice is so sweet and helpful, provided us info to go around. All of us indicated will come again.

如果可以的話，退房時間改成12點或是戶外游泳設施開放時間改早一點。可以有充分的時間享受。這裡真的很棒。

員工的親切度不如之前入住的程度，對於設施的介紹與使用的方法，沒有整體系統說明，有點可惜。對於客人詢問問題，也沒有以往充滿熱忱的感覺，有點只想早點結束的焦躁，回答也不太有幫助。雖然整體還是很不錯，但是部分設施已經需要更新與保養，例如開放SPA的置物櫃無法上鎖，當天池水也不是很乾淨。人員專業訓練應該可以再加強，請加油。

Beautiful surrounding.

I really like the hot spring and enjoed the morning swim at the outdoor pool. The surrounding is beautiful! The room itself is a bit small than expected and a lot of steps inside the room to bed and hotspring bath area. It might be too friendly for elders, but overall we enjoyed our stay.

第三區沒有view，價格還是一樣高，外面泡湯區蚊子很多，沒有什麼防蚊裝置，不過餐廳菜色不錯

很寧靜 很美 的度假酒店

在這裏住三日兩夜， 兩天都是不同房間， 108 觀止情房 : 有一個大大的半露天地方，有兩個浴池 (冷，暖)， 雖然沒有景觀，但私隱度高，整個人可以完全放鬆。 不過房間位於酒店泳池旁邊， 如果有人在泳池旁大聲說話會聽到。 506 觀止情房 : 位於5樓， 應該算是觀止情房(2人) 最大的房間， 房間的一整邊是落地玻璃 所以非常光猛， 浴室非常大，有兩個浴池(冷，暖)。 不過私隱度比 108號房低 因為對面的餐廳可以望過來。 兩間房都很大， 設施都很新淨， 裝潢時尚但不會太誇張， 令人很放鬆。 做spa的房間也很舒服， 不過最好在入住前預約， 因為預約都很滿。 職員都很有禮貌， 盡量滿足客人的要求。 總括來說，這是一個很好的度假地方， 酒店被山包圍著， 建築上用了大量的木材及石材，再加上玻璃 ， 令整個建築用夠融入山景之餘又有時尚感。 整間酒店很寧靜 ，可以休閒地在酒店裏遊走及休息。
