A nice enough hotel
We stayed here for 1 night 20/4 in room 4. We received a warm welcome from the young lady on reception. The room was clean & comfortable, if a little bit dark & small. I need to sleep with the window open & so could hear the busy road. Managed to sleep OK. We also put the air conditioner on, but it didn’t seem too powerful. We didn’t have breakfast as £17.95 per person is way too much for us. We also managed to get a parking space on an adjacent road, so didn’t pay the £10 parking charge.
Room was clean, however chairs in the room, both seats were not secured to the frame. There was a crack in the sink in the ensuite which looked like it had been there a while. Also the shower was very slow to drain which meant the water rose above feet level and if the shower had been left on any length of time, it would have flooded the bathroom. There were no towel hooks in the bathroom so when getting a shower the towel had to be placed on the toilet seat
The hotel is very dated, parking is limited, we were lucky to get parked but I don't know where you would be able to park nearby if we hadn't been able to. Staff were pleasant enough and helpful however didn't seem particularly knowledgeable on nightlife in Bath and where reliant on the leaflets in reception for things to do in the day.
Lovely Old Victorian Hotel with nice staff and easy 10 minute walking into Bath, so long as you don't mind the hill.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Very nice full English breakfast and the options looked good too. Parking was very tight. The room was fine and the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was basic but adequate; but unfortunately the room wasn't quiet, as I could hear other guests through the wall and walking up and down the stairs well into the night.
AMAZING Place to Stay
One of the best stays I have ever had! Friendliest staff, and wonderful bed. Also they were so kind to watch our luggage as we explored.
Warm and Welcoming.
A fantastic hotel, very warm and welcoming, our room was comfortable and had all our basic needs. Only a 10 minute walk into the city meant the car had a rest. As we had lovely weather, we managed to relax out on one of the garden verandas that the hotel has. Would definitely book again.
Lovely property, close in, comfortable room and great breakfast.
This property was so great! Felt just at home. Only downside is that it is like a 15 minute walk from town, but we actually liked that to get a nice walk in the morning. Ubers are also easily accessible.
Beautiful building, lovely four poster bed, balcony looking over Bath and a jacuzzi bath in our room. Perfect!
Lovely B n B within walking distance of yown centre, well managed and organised, lovely period decor and fittings
Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The only issue was the shower head not secure. Overall 9-10
This was my first experience staying in a bed and breakfast (always a bit apprehensive about cleanliness and everything feeling dated and old, but not in a cute way). I’m converted! I’m now on a hunt for another one as lovely as this one was.
Definitely Recommended - Lovely service too
Friendly and genuine first class service, great staff who went the extra mile - on arrival, in stay and at breakfast. I've stayed in many Bath hotels in the last 25 yrs - few have had as genuine a group of staff that I met on this first visit to Oldfields House . The owners appear to be investing all over this 19th century building - there's a mix of historic charm (especially the lounge) brand new changes, sympathetic additions (see picture of bar area) and the slightly worn (but to be expected in a building of this age and use) The value for money for the time I stayed was first rate. I enjoyed the breakfast - really nice service, fresh fruit, cereals and a marvellous freshly cooked option, which had great component parts too. Will definitely stay again. Ideal for Menu Gordon Jones which is a 5 mins stroll away.
This Inn really hit the mark.....rooms were quiet and good size......nice to have a lounge area to use as well to enjoy the fireplace or beverages.......hope to get back to Bath and we will return here.
Fantastic stay for partner's birthday
We had an amazing stay at Oldfields House! From start to finish, the service from the staff was brilliant. Communication before arrival was great—they helped arrange a bottle of bubbles to be left in the room as a surprise for my partner’s birthday and allowed us to check in early. When we arrived, we were surprised by balloons and bunting in the room, which was a thoughtful touch and made the occasion even more special. The room itself was clean, with a comfy bed, a selection of hot drinks by the kettle, a TV, and a lovely view. Breakfast was excellent, with generous portions and good vegetarian options. The bar was also had a good selection and reasonable prices. The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk into town, and on our last day, they kindly let us leave our bags after checkout. Overall, our stay was brilliant, and the extra effort from the staff made my partner’s birthday truly memorable. Highly recommended.
Lovely place to stay
Really lovely place to stay. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. It was a birthday treat and they left balloons and a card in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. Only a 10 minute walk into town. Would definitely stay again
A disappointing stay
Room very noisy you could hear other guests so we had very little sleep. Bathroom needs updating , toilet seat was disgusting . Light bulbs hanging out of ceiling . Previous guest had left a book underneath the bed so room obviously not been thoroughly checked . No Dropbox to securely leave room key for early check out. A real shame as it’s a lovely old building and very conveniently located for a stay in Bath .
Very warm welcome and cosy room. Suited our purpose for a one night stay.
Room good size , shower excellent, staff attentive and friendly distance from City good. Only thing could have made it better was the continental breakfast included in price and supplement if you wanted to upgrade to full cooked breakfast
Not too far (about 10 mins walk) from city centre although the walk back is uphill. Room was comfortable but too hot, even with the window left open. Breakfast was good and it was really helpful to have two prices between continental or full English to choose from. Staff were cheery and helpful. Parking though is difficult to say the least!!
The staff were so warm and welcoming you don't always get that level of customer service
The property was lovely. Location and parking not great. Over charged for breakfast. Was included in the booking. Check your invoice, the receptionist tried to argue that I was wrong! No apologies. Shame
Lovely room but breakfast was very disappointing
POOR. What is shown on website does not match in reality
Displayed as bed and breakfast but upon arrival they said that bf was optional even though there was no mention of the kind or facility to choose type of bf. Room was recently refurbished but shower and sink cligged up. For a 4 star hotel, there was no atmosphere in the bar and even their tea/coffee was of ghe cheapest for the most expensive room. Kept being told that it is a business but with poor quality and no ambience. Half way up a steep hill and limited parking space which was at a cost. Totally disappointed with every aspect of the hotel.
Little gem
Lovely hotel super friendly staff
Exceptional!
A big thank you to Bianca and her exceptional team, who were so welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Their professionalism and kindness made all the difference. THe hotel itself is very pretty and cozy. It felt like coming back home after a day in bath.
excellent staff and hotel!
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the team went above and beyond to ensure I had the best experience, even though there was an issue with my reservation. They handled everything seamlessly and made me feel truly valued as a guest. The hotel itself is great very characteristic. I’ve had the chance to see multiple rooms, and every single one was beautifully designed, and clean. A special mention goes to the amazing team led by Bianca. They were incredibly helpful, attentive, and always ready with a warm smile, making every moment of my stay memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay and exceptional service.
Great find!
Great location within walking distance to the centre, lovely views across Bath, nice period building and features, excellent service. Breakfast was very good although charged on top of the room cost. Parking available also at additional cost. Staff were friendly, professional and attentive. Highly recommend.
Oasis of calm
A lovely property with a lot of character. Outstanding reception service. Very comfortable rooms. Beautiful view from the top floor. The only thing missing was solid pressure in the shower.
Very nice welcome and attention.
Nice stay overall We stayed in the four poster bed, pros: spacious, good facilities, cool experience Cons: dusty bedposts at the top, bed too short (husbands feet were over the edge), you have to pay for parking, and we could hear kitchen staff at like 7am because our room was downstairs
Nice place convenient for bath city
I am a regular visitor but had a small single this time which was noisy. I have booked again in a better room. Hospitality is good. Breakfast was nice
Great b&b close to center well kept maintained highly recommend it
Good location but the hidden extras suck as parking charges and breakfast not being included but advertised as bed and breakfast but a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. Getting in the front door was not straight forward but I cannot fault the cleanliness and room but I would recommend being more open about hidden costs and initial entry.
Weekend away
It was a wonderful and pleasant experience. The staff made my sister and myself very welcome. I will definitely return for another stay in the future.
Very enjoyable stay!
Perfect location, approx 10 minutes walk into the centre of Bath. Parking is very tight. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Lovely little touches in the room, shame that with all the coffee options available it's Nescafé instant in the room. Staff very welcoming.
Lovely stay
We had a lovely weekend break to see Christmas market in Bath. We were able to check in early and leave the car at the property earlier than checkin times. The hotel was very nice, clean and quiet even though it is located near a busy road. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection. We would definitely come back. Highly recommended.
Lovely hotel for a night away in Bath and only a 10-15 minute walk back into town once you have checked in. We got an Uber back which was just under £6. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the limited parking which you have to pay for on top of your stay.
Lovely people run this place and the breakfast was really good. There is even a bar in a beautiful period room with a roaring fire. Homely and cosy and walkable to bath city centre but away from the busyness. Perfect for our romantic weekend away
Very clean and very welcoming, helpful staff. Our only comment is the room was over warm with no way of switching off the radiator. This made it a little uncomfortable. Otherwise a lovely stay close to Bath and the lovely Christmas Market.
It’s a lovey old property and walking distance from the centre of Bath. The only thing we found really annoying was the awful background music a breakfast and in the bar. It’s the same awful track played on a loop. Please make it stop!!
It’s cozy place, you feel you are at home, rooms are lovely and staff are wonderful and so friendly! We loved the place and we recommend it for Bath visitors
I loved everything about the property. I thought it was very beautiful building
From the advert on their website I was expecting it to be a lovely stay. Unfortunately it was disappointing. Much of the room I stayed in needs updating e.g. the bathroom had cracked tiles, the jacuzzi bath was far from new, the room only had secondary double glazing and the catch on the window was very loose, (These were only a few of the reasons I would not choose to stay in the bed and breakfast again)
What a lovely place. Built in 1877 it has a lot of character. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Great location, just a 10 min or less walk to downtown Bath. Only negative thing was being an old building the heat is not able to be adjusted and it was very hot in our room. Overall it was a great stay.
Great view
Wonderful aside from the tiny parking lot and people parking over the lines making parking impossible.
Loved the room
This hotel was nice and had a lovely breakfast. The location was walkable down into town but would not recommend walking back after dark but Uber was easy and quick for £6. Staff was friendly. The room was small with average furnishings.
Lovely stay, near Bath City Centre. Breakfast really good. Breakfast room and service charming. Good value for money.
Great value for Bath
Fantastic breakfast
A clean cozy place to stay in Bath.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I found the parking convenient and it was a 10-15min walk to the downtown attractions. A bit of a hill to walk up on your way home but helped to use up calories from the day.
The b&b is a short walk to the city. The staff were friendly and helped me figure out parking the day I checked out.
Excellent place with the friendliest hosts, parking a bit tight but everything else is definitely 5*
Parking was tight. Breakfast was amazing and beds were so comfy and loved the themes.
The Oldfield B & B was a Lovely place. Our room sat in a very picturesque spot. When we entered, the room, we immediately felt welcomed Every staff member who we met was extremely warm, friendly and accomkdating.
Kalakki ....super macha
sheikh faruk
it was amazing , room was cosy and clean .
Friends but slightly overpriced
Nice friendly b&b, really nice dining room and breakfast. Needs some tlc in the loft bedroom. Hot tap spins when you turn it on, kettle doesn’t switch off. I would say slightly overpriced for what it is. Still nice and pleasant though. Comfy bed.
We missed our first night due to being stranded by fog on the Isles of Scilly. So our stay wasn’t as long as we had hoped. I called ahead and, while understandable, it was unfortunate that we couldn’t get compensation for the night we missed given they managed to rent the room to someone else. Also, and this is not a criticism of this particular property., just a general comment fir all. Having bus and train schedules available would be brilliant. Thank you and we will certainly recommend and book again at Oldfields Patricia and Neil
This quaint B&B goes above and beyond to anticipate their guests every need. We highly recommend. Be advised that while it is only a 14 minute walk from the Station and shopping district, it is uphill so if you have large or heavy bags take a taxi to the hotel.
We were tired when we arrived after a long journey as I’m sure a lot of people are who arrive at the hotel. So firstly the entrance is right on the corner so you have to drive past and turn back and go across traffic to get in. Then the front door is hidden behind a hedge so it’s hard to find and impossible to get in. We rang and rang the doorbell and finally a resident came out after we were considering leaving. I said nobody had answered and she said she’s in theoffice right by the door. The woman who was on duty was very tart back to us saying she was somewhere else in the building and couldn’t spend her whole day by the door waiting for people to arrive!! We were horrified at her rudeness especially as the resident had said she was sitting by the door! She then made us go outside again while she went through the most patronising and pedantic description of how the door worked. Total check in time was half an hour as she gave us an unwanted tour/history of house. Sarcastic comments and finally took us to our room. Very bouncy mattress on old style metal bed. No sign of the bathroom. When I asked where it was she opened a closet door and there was the smallest bathroom with a tiny washbasin and a small box of a shower which when used the tap spigot shot the water on to the opposite wall and not downwards. Very unsatisfactory and uncomfortable but the worst thing was the lack of greeting. Long patronising introduction and her rude attitude towards us. We will never return!
good
the bedroom smelt too much of a perfume?? or too strong aroma hand wash..overpowering
Beautiful setting and peaceful night.
All was wonderful
Location good, just a short 15 mins walk from city centre. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast service was amazing and the staff were all extremely kind and friendly, they made the stay unforgettable. Would recommend and stay again.
We had a room at the back of the old house. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. But, it was a bit run down. One chair needed to be repaired, a blond in our bedroom was not fixed so it stayed down for 2 days, lighting was poor to our room, the steps were uneven, and we had to carry our own luggage down and up (23kg each) despite some help from Casey to get one bag down. The parking too, was VERY squeezy, and difficult to park, and on one occasion a guest had to park out on the street. The breakfast was amazing with attentive service. Cold and hot meals. Casey was sooo helpful and friendly.
Very friendly staff, fantastic room and a really amazing breakfast.
Great hotel
What a fantastic welcome and great hotel convenient for the city centre
The Oldfields is a building from 1877 updated with modern amenities. Visiting from the US we stayed at 4 sites and the room at the Oldfields was the roomiest and fanciest of the lot. The staff was attentive and helpful. It is up the hill from the city center but very walkable and we never felt the need for a Taxi/Uber until we were heading to the train station. The sitting area is very nice with some exceptional comfy chairs for a tea or cocktail, and a read. The hotel does spray a fragrance in the room after every make up and that may not be to everyone's taste or sensitivity. I'm sure if you gave them a notice ahead of time they would spare this feature. Overall a very nice stay.
Oldfields
Hotel was nice and people lovely, however price did not include a breakfast which was not stated when we booked. Also do not accept cash as an option to pay and again not told that until end of stay even though I did ask. Part from that a nice B&B.
Both My Wife & I love old Style Building's, to stay in & to look at. The Staff were all lovely, especially the lovely lady on reception, who was very helpful. Nothing major for us, we loved our stay. Maybe B & B part, paying extra for breakfast surprised us, but that may have been a misunderstanding on our part! And the bath looked like it it could have Jacuzzi bubble's use lol, but we couldn't see how to use! Again maybe a misunderstanding on our part. As before nothing major, we loved our stay, and will definatly be back one day, love to all xxxx.
.
I had a great time at The Oldfields House, great room, clean and beautiful. Housekeeping did a really good job.
The best welcome and best service ever. Bianca and Jasmine do a superb job.
Absolutely beautiful luxurious property. Excellent morning full service breakfast. Great location is close, but away from the connection of the central old town. Super staff
Parking can be a challenge! Once parked, there is a warm welcome from friendly and knowledgeable staff. The public areas are quaint and well kept, the room itself was comfortable and homely. It is a ten minute walk downhill into central Bath, but obviously, uphill on the way back! We would highly recommend.
Room wasn't ready when we arrived and had a foul odor. Staff was pleasant and offered us a drink while we waited for cleaning. Seems a bit disorganized. Room was okay though, bed was fine and comfortable. Bathroom was adequate.
Very friendly staff. Unique place
This was a last minute booking and absolutely fabulous. The woman who was at reception and the bar on the evening of the 19th was so welcoming and wonderful. I will definitely be back.
Bianca the manager was just so lovely & helpful nothing was too much trouble. The room was amazing & so quiet, would definitely recommend.
Lovely Hotel but the hill is a hike.
Very clean hotel with lovely staff and excellent rooms. It was advertised with AC but our room had none. Luckily didn't need it while we were there. Not far from bath but up a hill so in a much quieter area compared to in Bath.
Loved the traditional b & b feel. The breakfast was lovely. The only issue was the shower situation. If using hand held ot was hard not to get the floor wet.
We were made to feel very welcome. We enjoyed a drink in the lounge/bar area. Our room was very comfortable with a small ensuite which was fine. It was close to town. The car park was a little tight.
Friendly and cosy
Especially friendly personnel, and delicious breakfast.
Bed and breakfast advertised, breakfast was extra payment. Car parking was onsite for £10 per night….why charge? It is the property grounds no need to charge extra, pure profiteering. If more attention was paid to maintenance and standards of the rooms, (our shower leaked from the head, and who has small double beds these days) instead of insuring that guests know how to open the front door and being asked if you need to practice this? Then I would have rated higher. Love Bath but will stay elsewhere next time.
Great up market place to stay
A charming place to stay while exploring Bath.
This is a charming place to stay, with a beautiful room and wonderful breakfasts, including freshly baked pastries. Although it is close to town, walking there with suitcases could be difficult due to the steep hill.
Highly Recommend & Can't Wait to Return!
A most lovely, clean, convenient accommodation with an incredible and helpful staff and beautiful grounds. Highly recommend!
Great location. Had parking unlike the city centre hotels. 15 min walk to the city centre
We very much enjoyed our stay in your lovely, welcoming inn. Great staff, room, breakfast.
Had to check out late due to no one being there until 7:30. We missed our first train. Other than that, Exvellent!
Really calm and nice place.
Parking was a bit squishy
A lovely little B&B with really friendly and helpful staff. Full English breakfast was excellent. The room was nice with tea and coffee making facilities and a decent shower. Parking is limited but the staff can issue visitor permits for on street parking nearby. Walkable to the city centre but it is uphill all the way back!
Great service, the room was just what we needed and really comfy bed. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic.

Lovely B&B, more like a small hotel. Big comfortable rooms with great views over the town and nice outside garden. Short taxi ride from the train station, about £8 on the meter or £5 from Uber.
