Great spot. Easy to walk to Four Mile Beach and the Main Street in Port Douglas. The unit was a little rundown and in need of a renovation. Some of the towels had black marks on them too (maybe a problem with the washing machine?!?!).The pool facilities and gardens were well maintained. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Point to note…there is a water area being built directly opposite. It could be noisy during construction but would be a great area for kids once completed.

The property is in a great location close to the beach and the main street. Looks nice from the outside, the rooms needed updating.

Fantastic location, perfect for families to base themselves. Operators are super helpful.

The unit needed a really good clean. It had a bad drain smell on arrival. I advised the owner and they attempted to rectify some things. It required a total spring clean.

Location +

Apartment good size with everything needed. Some maintenance required, rain shower broken, outdoor sofa stained. Room was not cleaned well, I had to clean on arrival. The location is great, short walk to Macrossan Street. We were on top floor, no lifts so bit of work with suitcases.

Great property for families. Safe and secure parking, lovely pool and facilities. Unit was equipped very well and comfortable.

The room we had was very run down and tired. There were tiles that were cracked and even lifting in parts. The lounge furniture and outdoor furniture was worn out. Apartment was very spacious and its position is perfect for any visit to Port Douglas being an easy walking distance to anywhere you want to visit while in town. Pool was kept at a really nice temperature for ease of getting in. Has got a lot of potential for being an amazing place to stay but the rooms are in dire need of a refurb before I would be interested in staying here again.

Great location in Port Douglas

Great place to stay, close to the beach and a short walk into town. Quiet location. Great pool. Apartment was well furnished and very comfortable.

The apartment is a bit dated but Spacious. We knew there were no lifts before we booked. Reception offered to help with bags but we were fine. There was a problem with the hot water and that was fixed the next day. It must have been the low season when we stayed for a week. My only Gripe is the pool collected leaves and stuff every day and was only cleaned once. Which took some enjoyment away from the pool area. This apartment is a short walk to the Main Port Douglas shopping street with plenty of choices for restaurants.

Port Douglas Mowbray

Was great location, close to beach and main street. Beds are too hard by far, cleanliness was ok but I believe it was more to do with the age of the apartment. Needs refresh. Reception and Management were lovely and helpful.

Location was beautiful, steps from the beautiful 4 mile beach with surf swimming. Short walk to downtown shopping and loads of dining options. Accommodation was comfortable, spacious and well stocked. Loved lush surroundings with birds serenading. We give it the highest rating.

Great apartment for our group, 2 bedrooms both with ensuite. A little on the older side, but very spacious, tidy and comfortable for our short stay. Great location and convenient to town and beach. Free off street parking is also a great bonus!

Clean & Spacious

Very clean & spacious 2BR apartment that was close to the waterfront & to restaurants/cafes. We had a ground floor apartment which was great, but if you have a lot of luggage then maybe request this or else you will have stairs to conquer. Reception staff were very friendly & communicated well, & even offered to help with luggage etc. I would book again next time in Port Douglas

Great location and service. Pool and facilities were great and Martin was very accommodating even after checking out.

Marcus made it a really easy check in process and was extremely accommodating for us. Fantastic for both a short or long stay especially with a group of friends. Location is close enough to walk to the main street, but far enough to be peaceful and quiet.

Mowbray by the sea is in a great location; just a street down from the Esplanade and beach, close to shops and restaurants. The property is well managed, clean and in good condition. The two bedroom apartment was spacious. The manager, Martin, was very helpful. He even gave us a lift to Ellis Beach when other modes of transport were not available.

We recently stayed 3 nights (not long enough!) as a family of four (2 under 5) in a 2-bed apartment and it was perfect. Full kitchen, spacious room, they were also very accommodating with a high chair and portacot. Four Mile beach is basically across the road. The best part was the pool. My kids love swimming and even the 2 year old was able to splash around because of the extra large step which spans the full length of the pool. Fantastic. Will definitely return!

Beautiful apartments, great location and lovely staff..would definitely stay there again. The only thing I would say is it doesn’t have a lift but the property manager was really helpful and carried our bags up to the apartment for us.

Great value and location

Good affordable accomodation close to the main st and four mile beach

Great spot, lovely staff and facilities, only negative is we organised a top floor apartment well in advance but were shuffled to a lower floor.

Family getaway

Large room, friendly staff. Place is a bit older than photos indicate. Good quiet location with nearby dining and coffee shops and safe swimming beach. 10 min walk to main street

Great vacation spot!

Had a lovely stay at Mowbray by the sea! The pool was great, Martin at the front desk was so helpful, it was very clean and a very short walk to the Main Street! They were also able to book us a shuttle to and from cairns, which was super helpful. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to others!

We had a fantastic time at MBTS. From the moment we arrived, Teresa & Martin couldn't have been more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, the location is fantastic, room was great and spacious ... we had a wonderful time in a very special part of the world. We went to a few places in Australia during our trip, and Port Douglas was our favourite. Would highly recommend.

Perfect family hotel

We had a lovely 5 night stay at Mowbray by the Sea. The 2BR apartment was great for a family with kids. Pool was really nice. Beds were good. Kitchen had everything you need for pulling together a (light) meal. Close to the beach and restaurants. Some 750m to Coles. Reception allowed us to stay late on the day we were leaving, which was much appreciated.

The pool area was great, especially for kids as it was not too deep, and the big spa was also good. Rooms were spacious with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Big fridge which was good for self catering requirements.

Mowbray by the Sea is just a few minutes walk from a great beach and close to the marina where you catch a boat to the Great Barrier Reef. A great venue and a lovely place to stay!

Really like this property. Very quiet also great rooms and pool. Great having a bathroom with each room.

This property was pretty disappointing. It was run down and the room was dirty. With rotting skirting boards and out dated furniture, as well as a kitchen that was not well stocked. 1 tea towel for a 5 night stay, no oven trays, and the labels on the oven were worn off. The taps in the bath didn't work, and i spent an hour cleaning the place before we unpacked. The alfresco was covered in a million dead bugs, the clothes airer was rusted and unusable. The place needs a lot of TLC. The foyer was covered in bugs and not cleaned, the pool toys were old and broken. There was mould on the pool loungers and the bbq was only usable on one side. The owners seemed nice, but much upkeep is needed here. Location is good and easy to walk to the main street and beach. Has potential but we wouldn't stay here again.

Location, tranquil and service above expectations!

Couldn't fault our stay, host Martin and his Team were more than accommodating and nothing was of too much trouble. The only complaint if I label it that were that we could hear the apartment above us quite clearly. Not voices, but banging and loud movement noises, wasn't the end of the world only a little annoying. Great location, close to beach and shops, and we were provided with a few little extras that are appreciated when on holiday and you don't wish to buy yourself i.e. chairs for beach, umbrellas, sunscreen/bug repellent by the pool (we did have our own). Foxtel included which was handy.

The location is fantastic and the units have everything you need for a great vacation. Martin is always there to answer any questions. It is a quick stroll to the wonderful PD town centre. And about 10 seconds to the beach. Quiet and lovely neighbourhood. Great value. We had a wonderful stay.

Spacious apartment in a great location

Stayed at Port Douglas for 8 nights on a recent trip with my husband and friends when visiting Australia. We chose Mowbray by the sea as we wanted a 2 bedroom apartment with two bathrooms close to everything. Prior to arrival I was contacted by Lisa enquiring as to our flights details and whether we needed a transfer from the airport. I arranged this via Mowbray, the price was the same if I’d arranged this direct. The cost was added to my room bill which I settled at the end of my stay. We arrived after reception should have been closed but Martin the owner/manager stayed on to see us and give us our room key and any information we needed. The apartment was very spacious, clean and had all the amenities we required including laundry facilities and a pool. The decor is a bit dated and in a traditional Australian style but we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming in particular the manager. The apartment was within walking distance of the beach, the marina and the numerous, cafes, restaurants and bars in Port Douglas. We used the pool most days when we weren’t on day trips, no issues getting a sun bed, was never too busy and was perfect for cooling down in the hot weather. I had a fantastic time visiting Port Douglas and would highly recommend Mowbray by the sea to anyone considering a visit.

Beautiful, large apartment very close to the beach and restaurants. Apartment had everything we needed, including a washing machine and dryer. The hotel has the lovely, long pool with terrace and BBQ area. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Amazing value for money. We wish we could move in permanently!

Perfect location

Mowbray by the Sea is so close to the beach and main shopping strip, perfect location! Property managers are so friendly and and helpful. The pool is perfect for kids. We will definitely be back!!

Excellent location

The 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor was spacious enough for 4 adults . The balcony was a favourite spot with its Balinese inspired furniture including a day bed with the tree tops and birds at eye level. There is no lift but the manager assisted with the luggage. We were located a couple of minutes walk from 4 mile beach, flagged swimming area, and about 7 minutes walk to the main shopping area. The pool area is fantastic with a 1.5 metre deep lap pool, spa and shallow area on the edge of the lap pool. Kitchen was well equipped and beach towels were supplied at no cost. The manager is very friendly and informative.

Location,location ,location

Perfectly located , one minute walk to beach ,ten minutes to Macrossan Street ( main drag ) . Older property , but well maintained and extremely comfortable. The staff were very helpful , with local info , as it was our first visit to Port Douglas .Would definitely return .

The apartment was very spacious and contained everything we needed. Martin the manager was most helpful and carried our bags up to our apartment for us as we were elderly. They were in a quiet area and handy to everything thing . We will certainly stay there again if we go back to Port Douglas

Right next to the beach! Superb!

It was comfortable and the hosts were really friendly. The garage remote didn’t work and our car was locked in for the first night. We decided to park just outside the apartment from the second day. Lovely apartment that was literally 2 minutes away from the four mile beach.

Spacious, clean, well located apartment

A fantastic apartment located meters from the beautiful Four Mike Beach. 2 min walk to Port Douglas town center, all cafes shops and restaurants are extremely close. Great pool, clean room, very spacious. Owner/manager is very friendly and professional.

Great family location right near the beach, surf club and Main Street

Had a lovely time at Mowbray by the Sea. Large, clean, bright apartment, almost right next to the sea and to Macrossan St - couldn't be more convenient. The pool is lovely and HEATED. We stayed the previous week in a top resort at Palm Cove - gorgeous, but a freezing pool. I swam in this one every day. No complaints whatsoever

Quite end of town

Great place to stay walking distance to everything while in the quite end of town. The place could be more accommodating friendly staff clean and spacious. Great pool and all round great service. Will be going back again

The locale was perfect, just one block from the beach. Very clean, well organised, no-fuss, very roomy and well laid-out apartment, lovely aspect from our balcony. perfect for a family of four.

We absolutely loved staying here. We stayed with our 22 month old and it was perfect. The staff were great, the rooms were clean and had everything you would need! Will definitely be staying here again

Walking distance to main shops, restaurants and beach, great for families with children of all ages. The manager Martin is very friendly & helpful, he personally shows you to your room & offers to assist carrying your luggage. Highly recommend.

Great Family Friendly Apartment

Recently returned to the UK having had a week at Mowbray by the Sea as part of a month in Australia with our young family (2 children, 3.5 & 9 months). The apartments are perfect for families, with a great location close to the beach, the centre of Port Douglas and the harbour for GBR tours. The pool is fantastic - our three year old loved it, as well as chatting with the owner, Martin! Right from our arrival Martin was helpful, friendly and always keen to pass the time of day and offer advice (special thanks for the Outer Reef Tour recommendation!). Highly recommended.

Lovely apartment complex close to everything

Nice big apartment. Perfect location for parent with 2 teenage boys. One back from beach just a few minutes walk into central Port Douglas. Our host Martin made us feel so welcome. Lovely big pool with BBQ facilities and outside dining option. Own covered balcony with fan. Quiet location away from main road.3 air con units with ceiling fans inside to keep cool in December heat. Hope to revisit.

The apartments are in a near perfect position, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the local area is just ideal.

Wonderful location near the beach, family friendly

We recently stayed at Mowbray by the Sea and had the best family holiday we've ever had. The apartment was very comfortable and clean, the staff were exceptionally friendly and approachable. Our children loved the pool, and the location was quiet and close to the beach, easy walk to Macrossan St, and Port Douglas Surf Club. Our favourite memories will be early mornings walks on the beach and breakfast at the nearby cafe.

Love port Douglas and the Mowbray is a great place to stay. Great location and lovely hosts.

Nice hotel close to everything

It was our first time in Port Douglas and we wanted to be walking distance to the Main St and the beach. The hotel was clean and spacious, as well being close to everything. Owners are helpful and friendly.

Perfect location, great apartment, great pool

The apartment had everything in it you could need (wash machine, dryer, iron, dishwasher etc) it was spacious and very comfortable. The pool area was great. The attention to detail is really what made this place go from good to excellent for me. Cushions at the pool, spare chairs available to take to the beach, spare Umbrellas for customer use.

Rooms are big and comfortable. All of us loved the pool and the close walk to town and the beach. Managers were really helpful and friendly.

Great place to stay.

Loved the location..close to beach.We ate at surf life saving club which was great food and a 2 min walk.Pool was grerat..Rooms a little bit tired in some areas but aircon worked great.Andrew was great for any info needed. Would def stay again.

Great hotel, warm and welcoming staff will go back

This was my 5th trip to Port Douglas and I rate Mowbray by the Sea as my #1, you can not beat the location, especially if you do not have a car! Andrew and Melissa super friendly managers with the complex always immaculate, and range of extras so you can leave the beach toys, chairs, books at home and just bring yourself to unwind in this amazing location. My kids love it too.
