We liked our stay both times ,the reception lady is very helpful and pleasant. The room very clean and comfortable . Tea and coffee sachets etc refilled daily ,and the place smelt fresh and clean . My only slight down comment is the rooms are looking a bit tired in places . Otherwise an excellent place to stop for a couple of nights while visiting friends up north . The restaurant serves excellent breakfasts at reasonable prices ,and we will be happy to stay again in the future.
A good stay for the price charged.
Reception not manned when we arrived. Had to go over to the pub to find someone to check us in. Room was a bit grubby and could do with re-decorating, lampshade missing, another light not working etc... pop up bed was awful, no padding, so an uncomfortable night for my son. Main bed was OK. Pretty much as expected for the price point, but will consider other options for future visits to the area.
Lea Gate Review 30-Mar-2025
Alex was working behind the Reception desk on the night I arrived and I found him to be a very pleasant, cheerful and helpful young man who knew how to interact with guests. The checking-in procedure was efficient and quick. The room was spacious and clean and the sound-proofing very good. The mattress was very comfortable as I don't like rock-hard mattresses that you tend to get elsewhere so that was a bonus for me. There are plenty of car parking spaces available at both the hotel and the attached Hungry Horse restaurant. Breakfast was a mix of self-service for cereals, toast, coffee and fruit juices with waitress service taking orders for cooked breakfasts. I didn't have to wait long for my cooked breakfast to arrive and it was very good. The price was very reasonable compared with other establishments listed in the search engine results. The location meant that I was only ten minutes away from my client's premises and I arrived for my business meeting in good time feeling refreshed having avoided the stress of a commute on the M6 and M55.
We have had a wonderful stay at LeaGate and the Staff in the hotel were all fantastic. Jane Morgan one of the Receptionists was so kind and went out of her way to help us as we are disabled. She even carried our luggage to our room for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Sylvia & Colin Fosberry
Jane was amazing behind the front desk super friendly and helpful. I’ve booked again!

Room ok needs an update as quite old. Comfortable. Dinner at the pub lasagne didn't look very apertising but was ok.
Lovely location, quiet and convenient for us
Regular stayers. Rooms are always clean, beds are comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. We’ll be back!
Always happy to return.
We regularly stay at Lea Gate. Never have any problems. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable. Only gripe is could do with sockets by the bed.
First room we were given had mould on walls and ceiling in bathroom and smelly damp and mouldy. Not very pleasant nights sleep! Staff were helpful in giving us a new room for the remainder of stay. Bar staff ‘Jay Jay’ very polite and helpful during our visit to the bar area.
The staff were miserable and always complaining about the noise ...Even though they say said we could play some music until ten ...on a little carry speaker we bought .weve stayed in multiple hotels and this has to be down there with the worst im sorry
Overnight stay for a wedding guest.
Friendly and organised reception team, clean and tidy hotel room, plenty large enough for what I needed. Very comfortable bed and well-kept bathroom. Great view of the woodland are from the window too. Quiet surroundings, easy to find and good facilities in the area.
It's hard to say much as we checked in late and checked out early following morning. The receptionist was friendly, no hustle checking in. The room was hoovered and dust free. The bath had a big chip. That didn't affect us with having a shower. Overall, we were happy with the room and the price we paid.
It was a nice hotel and friendly staff and customer service was just the fact my 17 month old son had to sleep on a sofa type bed and the cleaners hadnt done there job properly because my son picked up a strip of someones tablets that must of been left behind
Looking Tired But Staff Very Friendly
The hotel (ex Premier Inn) is looking very tired and needs a revamp. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very small but with plenty of storage for toiletries. It was convenient to have a Hungry Horse restaurant attached for breakfast and an evening meal. We couldn't fault the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Would not recommend
Pity about the food next door
Hotel was fine but basic. The only real problem was the food served at the Hungry Horse next door. After a 40 minute wait for a baguette sandwich I was served with a still parbaked cold baguette. When I complained I was offered a replacement but I didnt have the time. So I just had to put up woth a “sorry”
Value for money. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Rooms a little tired could do with a make over but no complaints for what we paid. Would def stay again.
loved the stay , and pub food was realy good
ROOM VERY COLD
Stay
Friendly staff, very nice room and a Smart TV woooop
Room smelt of smoke
Room stunk like someone was smoking it the hotel or had been.
I was there on a family visit, this is a very friendly, functional hotel, good food and friendly staff
Went for the weekend with our 2year old.. Very friendly and they double checked to make sure they had put in a travel cot. Great night's sleep little one settled as well. Couldn't hear the main road and lovely food. Enclosed play area.
The room smell is absolutely disgusting, damp and the room in general dirty. There is a squashed dead bug on the skirting board that clearly hasn’t been cleaned. My daughter is coughing continuously from what I believe will be damp/mould spores. I have had to leave the extractor fan on continuously in the bathroom. Can’t even get a decent signal for a wifi so can’t contact anyone and the children are unable to use their tablets. I’ve paid for a family room and haven’t been provided any bedding for the spare bed. There is nobody in reception to complain to or get bedding from so currently 3 of us in bed together which is not ideal. I’ve been bitten on the back of my neck while laid on the bed. 2 of the light fittings don’t even have bulbs in them. I had a 2 and 5 year old with me so couldn’t take them elsewhere especially on bank holiday weekend and over 90 min drive back home. Appalling accommodation
A
Average hotel. Quick check in, pleasant lady on reception. Room smelt very musty in arrival, basic rooms with ok facilities. As the saying goes.. you get what you pay for, £80 for a night's stay with breakfast, need i day though breakfast was excellent, good selection of cereals, full english, unlimited tea & toast.
Pleasant stay. Staff were friendly. Don't go by all the negative reviews. Building could have done with a freshen up, but perfectly serviceable for 1 nights stay
Hidden gem
Seconds from new link Road M55 Blackpool West east M6 . Next to green king pub .plenty parking. Quite rooms 21 ground floor 21 first floor. Cleaning every day if required. Costa coffee shop l & morrisons local petrol ⛽️ station
Hotel room unclean. Used sanitary products left in bathroom bin. Bathroom also mouldy . Overall very run down
Staff were lovely
The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was reasonably clean, but looked a bit tired around the edges. The wifi was useless. We chose it because it had a Hungry Horse next door.
Not as per pictures shown. Complete dump. No Wi-Fi and not able to get phone signal in room.
Fine
Basic but practical. Looked a tad tired. Beds were comfy enough mind and what do you expect for £30 a night.
I was unable to come but when I tried to cancel my itenary number was refused

Great value for money Hotel rooms looking a little tired but are clean and have everything needed. Easy to acess location also and staff are helpful and friendly
All ok
Never again
No one at reception at all had to ring bell and wait for bar staff next door.Room 10 was smelly bad damp black mould above window could not ask to change room as add said last available. It tòok a whole can of spray air freshner to even smell abit better. Food in pub and staff very good
One night at Lea Gate Hotel
The room was in need of a good make over and redecorating. The bathroom was dated with items hanging off the walls, items had been removed form the walls and patches of unpainted walls where things had been with screw holes not painted. However the staff were efficient and welcoming and the beds clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was exceptionally nice.
Faultless Hotel
We stayed here with friends for its location. Hotel was spotless and excellent service. The attached restaurant was faultless with food and service especially Charlotte who went above and beyond despite always seeming to be on duty. Definitely recommend this to anyone
It was lovely staff and very helpful
Horrendous
It isn’t exactly dirty just totally worn out. Staff are great but Green King need y spend some money or stop renting rooms
Excellent family stay, bathroom could do with a update, and childrens bed were fairly hard. Staff were brilliant and very helpful
Perfecr for Blackpool. Better value for money
Clean quiet friendly and staff were first class
One night was sufficient
The duty manager was friendly and efficient when we arrived. The bedroom was comfortable but the bathroom was small and in need of refurbishment.
Very nice hotel.
Staff were helpful.
easy access pub on site for food always friendly staff
Not perfect but worth a visit.
There were no real problems on the night we stayed. Due the the difficulties of our itinerary, the hotel allowed to check in early since we would not be occupying the room until late that night. Breakfast was excellent with the only complaint being the lack of boiling water for tea. It was kept in a vacuum flask and, therefore, not hot enough. As for the room, the cold tap was extremely stiff and hard to turn off. I would recommend that if you are using the shower, ask at reception for a non-stop mat as the bath is very slippery when showering. None of these issues are serious, though, and I would recommend this hotel.
Good value and you get what you pay for.
A very nice stay chosen for convenience of location. Satisfactory and comfortable but slightly jaded. The staff were nice and helpful if perhaps a little lacking in enthusiasm but the general standard of the hotel is a little care worn. Our room had been thoroughly cleaned but wear and tear were apparent and it could have benefited from a bit of upgrading along with common areas. There was a particularly musty smell in our corridor. All that said it was very good value, staff were nice, breakfast was good and we had a good time.
Lovely stay.
Bed was amazing.Had a good nights sleep.Bathroom bit dated needs a revamp. All in all good stay.
Dont stay here if you need an Invoice
Hotel is basic, but clean and comfortable. Food isnt bad either. Would have given it a far better rating but when I was checking out there was nobody on reception, and nobody answered the bell, so I couldnt get an invoice, emailed the head office, still nothing.
good value
was very clean and very comfortable reception staff very good. shower poor and hot water from basin dangerously hot, which i reported. only there 1 night but will stay again for the price
Good value for money.
Great value place. Very convenient for visiting family. Bathroom needs updating was bit worn around the edges. But the bed was exceptionally comfortable and I slept great!
1 nights stay
The stay was fine. The bed was very comfortable.
Nice peaceful place considering its right beside an A road
Dated.
Staff cannot be faulted. Very accommodating and helpful. Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee provided, which is always a bonus. First world problem, I guess, but the Wi-Fi is appalling. Slow and difficult to connect, drops out with alarming regularity. The accommodation, although perfectly serviceable, desperately requires updating. The fourth bed can best be described as for small children only. Not good if you have a couple of lanky teenagers. Overall the staff make staying here bearable, as does the price. Find a reasonably priced Premier Inn nearby and you wouldn’t look at this place twice though, and that’s a shame as transport links are good and the staff deserve a better product to service.
neat tidy just what you needed staff were really helpful and friendly x
Very nice place with restaurant. Only complaint is that I had no phone reception but that might be my carrier, although the broadband offered was acceptable
Upgrade overdue
Accommodation tired
No staff member was present on arrival, I pressed a bell and there were no staff
Good food, great price. Took a while to get served with drinks and get our food order in. Seemed like a lot of staff moving about, but not getting people served. Also, a young lass was being trained up which didn't help us get served quickly. Other than that it was all good. would definitely go again.
Just right
Friendly helpful staff great food peaceful sleep
Clean and comfortable
Stayed a few nights. The accommodation is basic but clean and the bed is comfortable. Shower not so great and it could use some modernisation but overall ok. Comfy bed, clean room if that’s what you need, you’ve got it.
Bathroom smelt of surage and was disgusting, towel holder kept coming off the door ,the taps were dodgy and the bathroom door did not shut.
Excellent value for money. Bathroom needs a bit of maintenance but normal due to there just being a fan in there and no window. Staff very friendly, smiley and chatty, which is a refreshing change
Comfort and value
We were lucky because our room was clean comfortable and spacious. Good blackout curtains, soft cosy duvets and very quiet in the room so we both slept well. Food was very well cooked and incredible value! In all a good break for us.
Lovely clean and comfortable rooms, plenty of space with amicable supply of tea and coffee
Excellent accommodation and food.
Very friendly staff. Easy check-in. Room spacious and very clean. Lots of parking spaces. Great value for money menu.
Will visit again
Good service and value for money. Well located for our business needs
fantastic staff and the whole place well prepared
The staff were awesome, friendly efficient smiling faces. The whole property was as well prepared for safety as possible. Social distancing excellent and safety measure, hand sanitiser etc spot on. The beds are fantastic also and food was great although I only had a snack
enjoyed our stay at this place
Room was very clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Greene King was a pleasant surprise.
We were staying overnight to meet up with friends. The room was comfortable and clean. Beds were very comfortable. We had a good night’s sleep. Nice to have the pub/restaurant next door. It was a good starting point to our evening. The staff were welcoming and friendly. First time at a Greene King but would use them again.
Very pleasant
We only stayed one night the room was clean and comfortable we only saw the reception staff who were very pleasant
