Great location. Literally across from the subway HKU station. Friendly staff too! Highly recommended.

A wonderful place for our family trip

Front Desk: The staffs at the are super friendly and knowledgeable. I feel that the way they treat guests as if they were the customers themselves; so they will fulfill the request as best as they could. Room: The super convenience connecting rooms made our 12 days trip easy to check on the kids. The room is spacious with comfortable queen size bed (it feels like a King IMO) & 2 single in the kids room. We stayed on the 10th floor but hardly hear any noise from the street. Location: The location of the hotel is very ideal for our trip with friend / family mostly in the HK Island. 3 minutes walking distance to MTR or 5-10 min to tram / bus Gym: must check out the gym on the 28th floor, fabulous views. Worth mentioning – Billy, a very pleasant young fellow with passion

This hotel was very disappointing. The room had a musty smell and the bathroom smelt like a urinal. Roof was covered in mould and the room was dirty. Extremely unhappy with our stay. I really don’t usually leave bad reviews, however I don’t want others to be fooled by the advertising on this site.

JEN - a hotel that I happy to give 5 stars

Family of 4. We had the connecting rooms so we could stay together throughout our stay. The room is roomy and the Queen size bed feels like a King Services (both front desk service & room service) are great. Check out the swimming pool and gym on the 28th floor. the view from 28th floor is fabulous. did I say great customer services at the front desk?! on a rainy day, ask them for an umbrella. Location: very close to MTR

Very old and aged hotel. Don’t get deceived by the word Shangri-La, it’s nothing like the real Shangri-La standard.

Next door to HKU station so a great base to explore Hong Kong- only a few minutes walk to the lovely central and western district promenade too! Rooms are compact but well equipped and beds very comfortable. Staff all helpful and cleaning was a good standard. Small pool and decent Gym on top floor. Good option and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Nice & Convenient Hotel

Lovely hotel with friendly staff (Jason was ant the front desk), and service. The hotel is probably a little bit outdated and some upgrade might help. Hotel location is really convenient, right next to airport bus A10 line and HKU MTR station. I stayed here 4-5 times and still love this area!

Staff is excellent. Hotel is functioning and clean. Great area. Loved it for the price.

Staff was the best part — especially the bartender during Happy Hour — she was awesome. Also great buffet breakfast … super tasty

Dated and outside of the main tourist area. Stay on the other side of the river near sky 100. Decent enough rooms and staff were lovely. Some shops and supermarkets nearby, and a McDonald’s, but not a modern area

Good base for exploring HK.

5 night-stay with family for exploring Hong Kong. Hotel is a good base with decent and clean rooms (small, but that is Hong Kong) and good service. When we flicked the "make up room" button on going down to breakfast, the room was always made up when we came back. Even though bathroom is small they managed to fit in a bathtub. No minibar but a small fridge which can be used for smaller items. Overall a good base for exploring HK island (HKU MTR is next door). Only thing which I found a bit sub-standard was the breakfast - not bad as such but quality could be better and there seemed to always be some cold items among those meant to be hot.

We had an excellent stay at Jen hotel! It was very clean, accessible, and the entire staff are really nice and helpful, especially our room attendant Fei Fei!

The staff were really nice, the rooms were clean and had lots of space. The roof top pool and gym was a great bonus! Close to the MRT and lots of shops near by.

Excellent location with easy access to the MTR and the trams. Rooms esp the bathrooms are in need of a refurb as looking a little tired. However, the beds were very comfortable.

Nice view Quiet Convenient

I booked a club room to have access to the club on 28F… which sadly doesn’t open any more in the morning, about the only time I would be able to enjoy it. This is disappointing and probably should have been communicated earlier, I might have made a different choice.

Love everything about this hotel & will definitely look at other JEN options when we travel due to the wonderful experience we had. They have all the amenities for the room and the shower was amazing. All the staff have been super helpful and friendly, especially Wai, who helped easy our stress of our flight getting canceled due to typhoon and rebooked at a time when the metro isn’t available. I also like the hotel doing their best to stay environmental friendly, such as providing water filter system in the room. It’s located half block from the metro and lots of food options near by.

The room was spacious, the quilt is too warm. JEN helped us to store our luggages for 4 nights until we came back from a short trip.

Service was excellent. Gilbert at the front desk was very helpful and kind and Jason at the. Luv Level lounge provided excellent service.

No early check in or day room available when arriving early

The subway (HKU Station - Island Line) is right beside the Hotel. There are a number of food options around. There's even a wet market restaurant nearby where you can enjoy great local food. The room is clean and has adequate space to have a comfortable stay.

The hotel reception apologized for the food left in the fridge by a previous guest, and was very happy to give us free use of the lounge and free breakfast. The drinks and food in the lounge were very good and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel staff was friendly and kind. The rooftop pool was wonderful. I would stay there again.

Just a 3mins walk from HKU station with 7-11 just by the station. Staff were incredibly polite and helpful, including the lifeguards at the swimming pool. Room was huge, modern and clean! highly recommended.

Generally is good

Very conveniently located next to HKU MTR station. The Deluxe Harbour view rooms are in the high floors and therefore avoid traffic noise from the street below. Rooms are clean and of a decent size. We stayed on two occasions between July and August for a total of 10 nights and were very happy with the hotel.

Interior of the hotel is quite outdated. Blinds are yellowish. Services are quite good though.

Good location where HKU MTR Stn is just across the street and tram station is within walking distance. Staffs (porter, front desk and housekeeping) are friendly and efficient. The room is at good size, a little old but clean and well equipped. Very thankful that foam pillows are available upon request. Overall I am very happy with the stay.

Jen hotel is a great place to stay. The room is clean and quiet, and staffs are all very nice and helpful. Transportation is easy and fast in this area, 5 minutes away from the subway where you can get to the heart of this city.

I enjoy the hotel’s convenience and service. The desk receptionist was very helpful in calling a cab to the airport and volunteer to take our luggage down to the ground floor and loaded it into the cab.

It's was a good stay, but a bit outdated. I was expecting a bit more after staying at the same hotel in Singapore. Staff was nice and helpful.

The rooms DO NOT look like the pictures. The pictures looks like they were taken 10 years ago. Rooms are dirty and smelly. carpets don't look like they have been vacuumed in a long time, shower curtains were yellow and ceiling boards in the toilet were broken and misplaced. there were holes in the boards. Chairs in the room had some liquid stains and furniture where just dated and not well kept. The rooms are also kind of badly designed/old. No plugs near the bed so you cannot charge ur phone within easy access and switches for the room light are at the door only and not by the bed, so you would have to walk all the way to the door to turn off the light before getting to bed. Just overall a terrible experience. I won't recommend anyone to stay here.

Friendly and helpful staff !

D room is not spacious, just nice to fit in only. During my 2nd day of staying, I was shocked to find out that one of small towel was not changed to a new fresh one; and what I got is a half wet one & could tell it's a used towel!! OMG!! Hopefully can improve on this!

It’s great value for Hong Kong stays

Great value for the brand and it’s Hong Kong. Hotel is within walking distance of all eateries and public transportation. Rooftop pool gives you a beautiful view of the city.

Nice place

The environment is good, but the noise next door is loud, which affects sleep. The bathroom and shower room need to be improved. There needs to be a place to put clean towels in the shower room.

Not impressed

Went for a stop over in Hong Kong for 2 nights. Room was not impressive and not sure how it is related to Shangri-La. Room is small, VERY DATED DECOR, room was dusty. There room was very cold so they had to deliver a portable heater to the room. Location was decent and the bed was comfortable. I wouldn't say that the room justified the price. Next time I will be staying in a cheaper chain of hotel. Overall it was just ... ok. Not super impressive, but not worth the price.

Top notch

Excellent stay. Particularly liked the big TV and big bed and powerful shower. Jason and lady at check in desk were both a great help, and I’d a smooth check in / out.

The hotel is located conveniently next to the MTR, with various food stalls and malls nearby. The room is small but clean. Similarly, the gym is small but well-equipped and good for both cardio and strength training. Overall, will return again!

I’ve stayed here before. Though the room is a bit small, it has everything u need. Nice.neighborhood, with plenty of dining spots, including McDonalds right across the street. The restaurant serves tasty Malaysian cuisine, though it’s not cheap. The biggest problem is the breakfast buffet is so overpriced for what u get.

The structure of the room was bit awkward with cubicles for Bath and toilet and safe.

Great stay at the Jen Hong Kong! We selected to stay here as: 1- we wanted to stay on HK island 2- affordability 3- the convenience of being in the Sai Ying Pun neighborhood: walkability to stores and cafes along with access to transportation I travelled with my partner and parents. My parents stayed in the adjoining room so that was really nice to be on the same floor and have rooms so close to each other. The room was spacious, modern, and clean. I especially liked the window seat for extra room and to look at the harbour, I chose this for both our room and my parents' room. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was also very nice - great shower pressure! The lobby was ok, nothing spectacular. The front desk was helpful but would get busy quickly. We also tried the restaurant on the 2nd floor, Cafe Malacca restaurant - food was expensive compared to local eats but very tasty and a nice change from Chinese cuisine. Would consider staying here again!

Staffs at front desk are excellent. I really appreciate Leon for all his help and quick response. The property is a bit old, there is water dripping from tap after bath, and need to really try to push a bit more to stop the water from dripping. The road nearby is really rough for carrying big luggage to get through smoothly. So taking taxi or MTR are better than taking bus if you are travelling with big luggage.

The hotel is in a cosy location and easily accessible by tram or MTR. Highly recommended if you're looking to stay away from the crowds but still somewhere accessible. The hotel is slightly old, but it is clean and comfortable.

Location is excellent less than a minute walk from HKU MTR. Staffs are friendly and helpful and efficient. Room is neat, cleaned and well maintained. Definitely will stay in this hotel for my holiday in HKG.

Level of cleanliness is terrible. Lots of stains on carpet and surfaces (e.g. Desk, table top, toilet seat, etc.). Many of the stains are removable by wiping, so this is clearly lack of effort on the part of the staff. Lots of hair stains also left on the toilet cover on both nights that I stayed. I had the breakfast buffet which was very expensive for the level of spread and quality on offer. Much better off going to McDonald's next door. Location is good and near MTR but doesn't make up for the severe lack of quality.

Stayed with our 2 year old and could not have been happier with everyone accommodating us. They had everything we needed plus a free Jen teddy!

Great staff. Billy was extremely helpful and friendly. The clogged drain in shower and strong scent from previous guest are the downside of the hotel room.

This was the fourth time we’ve stayed with Jen. Never disappoint. Friendly and helpful staff. Cleaning crew is among the best. The property is sparkling clean. Very comfortable stay as always. We will stay with Hotel Jen anytime we’re visiting Hong Kong.
