Best location when arriving in Hualien, right by the train station and several car rental spots. Rooms are inexpensive, clean and the staff is very friendly. Would 100% go back

Overall, a wonderful stay. My private room was quiet with light housekeeping service, front desk staff very helpful, pre-trip responses to my messages on Expedia were answered quickly, nice property. Directly across from train and 1/2 block to bus station. Special thanks to Jodie for her great restaurant recommendations, Bure (& Jodie & other gal on evening shift) for helping me plan the rest of my vacation, to Bosh and Winson for a smooth check-in. Overall, I would give this property 4.2/5. I found it was a bit overpriced for a room in a hostel. Marks deducted as the room is quite small, bed configuration odd as the bed blocks the small window, a table to put my suitcase on top of would be nice, better lighting needed, more signage in English, could use an extra elevator (not an easy fix), and last...:thank you for the complimentary breakfast, but it would be nice if you could include some items for the North American or European clientele, such as hardboiled eggs, granola or muesli, milk with coffee, juice, etc. I feel this hotel caters more towards national tourists, and not international.

I like this "Home" very much. It's so 6C's which are Comfortable facilities, Convenience transportation, Creative decoration, Colorful design, Complimentary breakfast and most importantly Courtesy staffs especially Winson, Bure and Zoe. They are knowledgeable, friendly, speedy and great teamwork especially when u check in and any inquiries. Boss of Wow Hostel, please treat them well and raise their salary more

This was a surprise to me. While marketed as a hostel, they provided impeccable service. The staff were helpful and friendly; and the location is superb. It is directly opposite the Hualien Train Station (you can see the green building from the station, and vice-versa). Saves you the trouble of finding a taxi or alternative transport (which is helpful as it is difficult to get an Uber ride in Hualien). The overall bus station is also beside the train station (allowing for easy transfers to the inner parts of the city like the night market and Taroko Gorge). Great experience, will recommend. Booked a private room and it is equivalent to any self respecting hotel.

雨中花蓮之旅

顯眼的綠色大樓就座落在花蓮火車站對面，區位相當方便，內部環境整潔，裝飾和壁畫營造出溫馨的青旅氣氛。惟五樓公區浴廁空間稍嫌促狹，房內浴室乾爽但臥室稍悶不透氣，故濕毛巾衣服不容易乾，但不致影響整體住宿體驗。這次是臨時起意去花蓮，事先毫無安排，幸有工作人員推薦之在地好去處，度過了悠哉的兩天兩夜。

we were on our bike trip, and although the hotel offer us to park the bike in their basement, the lift is too tiny to fit in our bike (!). Breakfast is too simply and is not much better than nothing. Disappointed.

the hotel, a bright green building, is hard to miss as soon as you step out of the train station. From there, it’s a bit difficult to explore the rest of the town but the amenities cannot be beat. Really enjoyed the breakfast!

Hotel is convenient to public transport and convenient store. Is 2mins walk from the hualien station.

Bed bugs!

Stayed here for 4 nights Impressed with the service and looks absolutely clean. But left the place with bed bugs bite and it worsened while I continued travelling and even 10days after I left the hostel, I was still itching and it's causing alot of irritation and disturbance. Please help to do a pest control for the bed bugs because these creature are not visible to the eye, it's difficult to remove them completely...

Comfortable stay

Hostel is just 5 mins walk from the railway station but is approximately 30 mins walk to the city area. However, there is a bus stop just 2 mins walk from the hostel which takes you to the city area. Room was clean except for the bathtub - (we booked a private room), there were stains around the bathtub area. Breakfast was provided for free even though our booking does not include breakfast. Hostel staff were polite and helpful. As for day tours, I engaged a guide via a friend’s referral which happened to be a partner with the hostel. Rates are cheaper if you were to engage the guide directly. Do message me if you would like to have the contact number.

Nice staff.. quite good facilities.. there is one very disappointing.. breakfast only toast with different of spread,ham and sliced cheese and tea and coffee...really disappointed

Beware of bedbug infestation

The bed were infested with bedbugs. Not a good choice, even if you are looking at just a simple rest.

Convenient

I didn’t like the set up of the beds. Not enough space between you and the person next to you. Still, it was clean and comfortable. Loved the lounge area. 5 minutes from train station.

Clean & new hostel, near to Hualien train station

Very nice and new hostel that is easily accessible from Hualien train station. You can easily spot the green building from the station. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Alice helped us alot by explaining to us the way to get to some attractions. Room comes with great view facing the train station. Room is cozy and toilet is clean too. Only bad point is the hostel is a distance away from downtown and public transport at Hualien is limited. So you need to plan your timing properly or be prepare to walk for 30 mins to the night market. In addition, we book a one day Taroko trip from the cafe at level one of the hostel at NT700 per pax. The price is slightly cheaper than what the Hualien information center offered. Tour is well planned, bring you to a few famous spot. The tour bus pick you up from hostel and you can select your drop off point after the trip. I will highly recommend this tour if there is only 2 person as public transport around Taroko only come every one hour and weather is extremely hot in May and booking a private car is too expensive for 2 person. The only bad point is the lunch is too expensive and not really tasty. Prepare your own lunch if you want. Also, prepare alot insect repellents because there is alot of mosquito at Hualien!! Enjoy your trip :)

Great hostel, great location

We stayed in a double room with a private bath on the 7th floor. The room is spacious and clean, nice view of the mountains through the windows. Breakfast is self-serviced in a commin area, which took sometimes to prepare. They actually gave us breakfast coupons for the cafe downstairs but too bad the cafe was closed on the day we stayed.

Private room is small but clean.

Highly recommended

The hostel has a fantastic common room. There's a bicycle rental shop just right next to it. Night market is a little distance away but easily reached by bus or cycling.

Close to Hualien train station....good location.

Reached train station and you could spot the green building with "WOW" wording easily across the station. 5 mins walking distance away from train station and you basically could seek assistance from their staff to arrange the local tour for you. For you to enjoy local town food, night market, attraction. You could consider to rent scooter or travel by bus/taxi. Overall, it's a decent budget hostel with the basic amenities, facilities needed that suit your budget to spend the rest $$$ in tour, food & souvenir.

Great for Taroko

WOW was easy to find as I got off the train, it's right across from the station. Unfortunately this means it's a ways (maybe 30 minute walk) from downtown where the night markets are, but it's convenient for the train and buses. Since I came here for Taroko Gorge and wanted an early start, this was a fine tradeoff. My room (4A) was a decent size, had a spacious locker, and felt clean and new. I couldn't quite fit my luggage in, but my backpack fit with plenty of room. Both the room and the locker were locked with an RFID tag; the tag is also used in your bunk to power the light and the outlet. The bunk had a shelf for stuff as well as two pegs for hanging clothes. My biggest complaint is that the bed was very creaky - it felt solid, and when I was still it was fine, but when I was getting into/out of bed or climbing up the ladder, I felt like I was making a big racket. The room was warm and humid when I got there, and despite looking around, I saw no evidence of air conditioning. I asked at the front desk, and it turned out that room AC is centrally controlled at the front desk and hadn't been turned on in my room. Unique among hostels I stayed at this trip, rooms have attached bathrooms, but it did not have a window and was only ventilated when the light was on, so it smelled a bit. We kept the door closed to minimize the effect. They will hold luggage for you after you checkout, but it just sits in a pile by the front desk. No security and no proof of ownership.

Great location & fantastic brekkie!

Very good location as it is near the bus and train stations and plenty of convenience stores around. The lobby, kitchen area and sitting areas are great with lots of games, book s and a great view to look out on. The beds are a bit strange. You have a wall in between you and the other person although the wall stop still hallway down so you aren't very conscious on not touching the random stuff leg/foot next to you the whole night. Lockers very very noises when you they are opened and bound to wake everyone in the room up. Toilet/Shower/bathroom very clean and modern although having 6 people to one bathroom can prove difficult sometimes and no other option (except one toilet) on the level above. Another strange thing was that you can't control the temp in you right room and the light in the room is automatic so when someone moves it turns on for 5 mins ( very futrating on the map middle of the night as you have lights in your eyes constantly. Sleep with an eye mask people! All In all staff very friendly, location was great and the breakfast was fantastic!!!!

The staff are friendly, the lounge area are nicely decorated. The room is quite small but is clean and has its own theme. They provide coupons for breakfast that you can use at the breakfast shop nearby.

The hostel is near hualien stn, nearby have lots of local food and 7-11. Friendly staff, they also have recommendation for scooter rental that is cheaper than other shops

Cheap, clean and recently renovated

Wonderful accom, the most delicious breakfast I've had in Taiwan and beautifully renovated. Great value for money. Only downside is it's pretty noisy. We could hear the lift shaft machinery and the window glass doesn't block out much of the street noise. But overall we really loved our stay.

Great location hostel

The hostel is close to either the train station or the bus station. It's very convenient to me as I only have to walk few mins. The staffs are friendly too, they printed the transportation schedule for me.

Clear focus on service.

I was looking for a business oriented hotel in the Beitou district for my last night of a 3 week holiday. I wanted to balance hot springs and business calls I had to make. I chose this property based on location and value. Overall the hotel was as advertised/expected. It was spotless, quiet, offered good quality linens and the personal care items you'd expect: full set of toiletries, slippers, etc. What struck me, however, was the attentive staff. The level of focus placed on answering my every question and making sure every need was met was almost comical. Only almost. The efforts felt quite sincere and in the true spirit of hospitality. One example is that I'd asked about airport transportation. First, they asked about budget - was I looking for ease or value - I indicated both - happy to use public transportation if the effort and time required wasn't extensive. They took the time to look up the schedules and price, and to make a map illustrating exactly how to navigate the MRT station including which exit to use and how big the street was that I needed to cross to get to the depot. And they didn't make me wait around while I did it - I was off to the springs and when I returned presented me with the document personally prepared for me. Breakfast was fine, regional fare with some western food. Bonus was an espresso machine. My only issue was that the seating area seemed insufficient to meet the 9AM crowd, trays allowing in room dining would have helped this.

NO TOWELS

Everything was fantastic. BUT NO TOWELS OFFERED OR FOR HIRE!!!! Great place, so clean so modern, offer so many different services including a bath mat, but no bath towel. You can't even hire one?! Apart from that it is perfect location. Would highly recommend. But hostel need to offer towels for hire even. So strange.

Wow! Such a nice hostel!

The hostel has a very welcoming vibe. The staff are lovely and the common space is very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the comfy bed (I was impressed by the high quality bedding -- never seen a hostel use down & feather duvet and high thread count cotton sheets) and the electrical locker in the room. The hostel is just a stone throw from the train station, which made it easy for us to plan our itinerary.

This superb backpack motel is located directly opposite the main train station....Bus station also nearby for travelling. Motel is clean. I would definitely recommend to budget travellers! Can take a local bus to nite mkt too....excellent!

overall is great. But my father left something in the hostel and I called the staff and ask for help. He said he would help but finally NO REPLY from the staff :(((

Good accommodation for a good price

The bed of the dormitory was quite big, and it is comfortable. It have curtains for each bed to maintain privacy. The common area is big and having full variety of equipment such as kitchen, refrigerator, and computer etc. The location of this hostel is quite well as it is only 3 minutes walking from Hualien Station. However, the hostel is quite far away from the city centre, need to rent a bicycle to walk through the city. This hostel is quite well.

Brand new everything. Excellent location

Room was very nice and the shower was amazing. Good breakfast and excellent location. Only downside was you couldn't turn off the light in the room so it was on all night but there are curtains around the bed.

Great location and fare price.

The hotel is just located in front of 花蓮 train station. It took about three minutes to walk there from the station. There are 7-11 and a lot of restaurants just nearby the hotel. The bed, room, toilet are bright and clean. Breakfasts are simple toasts, eggs and coffee. Overall, it was a pleasant stay !

值得再訪的青年旅舍

1.離花蓮火車站超近,就在火車站斜對面綠色建築超好認 (只是馬路太大了,走路也要一兩分鐘 XD) 2. YH 有提供附近商家的早餐券50元.有好幾家可提供挑選 (滿足不同需求) 大推:重點都是在YH附近... 3. 房間部分 : 住三人房(三人一間) 內含浴室 , 這點滿讓人驚豔的 不用走出來跟一堆人共用衛浴. 房間跟衛浴設備 都相當乾淨..看的出來 有用心再清潔 4.再推 10樓有洗衣機/烘衣機/ 烘鞋機..沒有錯 烘鞋機 一般很少看到烘鞋機 居然讓我看到了 (我住兩晚其中一晚鞋子因大雨全濕.沒有涼鞋 只有拖鞋 幸好看到它 烘了3小時 後 鞋子就全乾了..讓我隔天回家 不需要穿拖鞋搭車 5. 工作人員笑容可掬~ CHECK IN /CHECK OUT 滿滿的笑容 讓人心情愉快~ 快樂出門玩 快樂回家 ..期待下次再來 這家CP值超高!!

離車站超進，很方便。床位有簾子、小燈和可以鎖的置物櫃，很不錯，不過開關鎖都有聲音，覺得比較困擾一點。有些燈是感應的，對於不熟悉環境的人來說比較安全，覺得很棒。房間裡面除了廁所內的掛勾，若能多一些掛勾會更方便。整體佈置、環境、提供的東西（雖然我沒有吃到早餐）蠻喜歡~
