Love this place but better guest communication way
The staff was friendly, professional, patient and respectful. Alex, in particular, showed great compassion when our dog injured her foot on the gravel in the courtyard and the other manager (whose name I wish I could remember Brody us a bandage immediately, and clean sheets. The chef’s were kindly accommodating of our vegan needs and the barista made cute little bears on our latte’s. The grounds were well kept. The only negative is that they did not inform guests of a party that went well past midnight with a DJ that was extremely loud in the restaurant courtyard in the center of the hotel. The next morning the restaurant was closed for a deep cleaning which made checking out early, as we had planned, impossible as they were using a high pressure hose to clean the bars roof, which blocked the entrance. I witnessed and experienced a grumpy and impatient manager that morning who did not accommodate guests who were inconvenienced by the restaurant having a deep clean scheduled during posted business hours. Had we known this would be happening we would not have extended our stay for an extra night. However I would choose to stay again as it’s location and staff are great.
Super cute and affordable
This is the cutest hotel. Very boho chic. Super comfory beds and very nice rooms. The pool, bar and restaurant are super nice too. The bar is a meccal bar so if you like that, it's for you.
Great Stay!
Drift Hotel Cabo Review I recently stayed at Drift Hotel in Cabo, and while I was initially hesitant upon arrival, the experience quickly won me over. The food, service, and overall character of the place made up for any first impressions. Pros: • Great location – Within walking distance to popular tourist areas, making it easy to explore. • Helpful staff – The front desk went above and beyond, assisting with reservations and even securing deals I wouldn’t have found elsewhere. • Food & bar – Easily the highlight of my stay! The bar had a great selection, and the food was top-notch. • Extras – They offer yoga sessions and fire pits, adding to the laid-back vibe. • Transportation – Uber is always accessible, making it easy to get around. Cons: • Very noisy at night – This was my biggest complaint. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs or be prepared for some late-night noise. • Fire alarm issues – The fire alarm would go off during showers, which was frustrating. • Event scene – It was slow during my visit, but I could tell it picks up at certain times. Overall, Drift Hotel is a unique stay with character, offering great food, a prime location, and helpful staff. However, if you’re sensitive to noise or easily annoyed by small inconveniences like faulty fire alarms, you might want to take that into consideration.
Excellent property, very poor service throughout.
This place was amazing walkable places to shop and to eat. The hotel room was comfortable and Esthetic pleasing and the staff by the bar/restaurant took care of us anytime we stopped shout out to Juan Carlo!
The perfect romantic getaway
Our stay at the hotel was absolutely unforgettable, starting with the seamless virtual check-in process, which was incredibly easy and convenient. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us warmly. The room was impeccably clean, with minimalistic decor that was both modern and warm, creating a serene atmosphere. The location was perfectly situated in downtown, making it easy to explore local attractions, the bed was so comfortable it felt like sleeping on clouds, and the soft lighting added to the cozy ambiance. We would highly recommend Drift hotel for a romantic getaway, as it offers the perfect combination of comfort, elegance, and relaxation.
The property itself is gorgeous & my room is aesthetically so cool! I didn't mind the late night DJ because he was very good but the surrounding area overall was incredibly loud until super late (2-3am). I am also absolutely covered in mosquito bites from dining here. The pool offers no privacy and is tiny. The location is really convenient though & this place has great style.
A
We thought the reception staff were very helpful and provided great service with luggage assistance and getting us settled into our room.
Small rooms in a great location.
The location is great for access to the historic center. Others have stated there was loud music at night, but we didn't experience that. Staff was great. The bed was comfortable. However not the best hotel choice for us older folks. We ended up with a 3rd floor room, no elevator and no handrails on the stairs (partly my own fault as I didn't think to request 1st floor). Also, the shower in our room was a square tub in the middle of the floor with a shower head over it, with no curtain, door or handrails. You had to step over the 2 ft edge to access it. Also, no coffee makings or even hot water to make your own, although the restaurant did open at 8:00.
Alex at our check in was excellent went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved the hotel and room concept. Tou can’t get a better location for the art walk in Thursday night but it come at a price. The music from the restaurant hotel was so loud until 11. After that ended the music from local bars from the area played until the middle of the night. The air plugs provided were not very useful. The hotel is beautiful but unfortunately we will not stay here again because of the noise.
This is my 2nd time staying here. The hotel is in a prime location and is beautifully designed. The staff and service are top notch. They have a great bar and restaurant on site. Highly recommend
Do not come here if you want to sleep during the night. There was incredibly loud music with a thundering base playing until 3 in the morning! We could not sleep, even with earplugs. We even went down and asked the staff but they said it was a neighboring locale and they couldn't do anything about it. Then palm-tree trimming started at 7am (with a chainsaw right outside our window). There was a bright light in the hallway on all night and with the room door being glass and having no curtain, we could not get the room dark at all. The minimalist design meant there was almost nowhere to put our belongings that wasn't the floor. They did nothing to atone for this upsetting experience. We also got diarrhea and a stomach bug the next day and we can't know if it was the welcome drink we got at this hotel or food we ate elsewhere. (I suggest to skip the welcome drink anyway, it was watery). We stayed 1 night here after having been in Mexico 7 days already with good, quiet experiences in other places and no stomach bugs up to then. The only good parts were: The hotel was clean and the cement design looks kind of cool. The staff were friendly and helped us find a post office and get a cardboard box to try to mail something.
Friendly atmosphere
Friend, clean, comfortable.
Great eclectic hotel. Too many hidden fees after checking out of hotel.
Love this hotel, this was.our 2nd stay, i do wish they still offered the complimentary coffee and pastries in the morning, that was a really nice classy touch. Not having that felt a bit chincy. Overall still a cool hotel with great staff
Beautiful property and wonderful stay. Walkable shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Hidden gem in the heart of the arts district. Would visit again 10/10
Loud music until 4am; ear plugs provided a joke. Absolutely terrible
Excellent
One thing to be aware of is clubs/bars around the hotel can be quite loud late into the night. Be prepared with noise cancelling headphones.
Amazing stay! Exactly as described. I would stay here again.
Drift Hotel had the best service I’ve ever had staying at any hotel, anywhere, in my life. From the time of booking through the time of check out, the hotel staff was extremely accommodating. I went deep-sea fishing one day and caught a large marlin. I asked the hotel if I can store the meat in their freezer and they were able to accommodate this. The next day I asked if they would be willing to prepare some of the fish for dinner for myself and my group however they wanted to. They were very excited to do this for us and went above and beyond. They prepared the fish for us 4 ways - sashimi, ceviche, fish sticks, and tostadas. The dinner was so special and amazing and one that we will never forget. The food and drinks at the hotel were in general incredible and we often ate at least one meal or snack from the hotel each day. The breakfast tacos and burrito are particularly delicious. The pool was very relaxing and the hotel grounds and design are beautiful. The location is perfect if you’re looking to stay in the San Jose Del Cabo city center. I highly recommend this hotel.
Relaxing and very cool place to stay
Loved our stay here and will be back! Right in the heart of San Jose. Staff was super friendly and so accommodating!
Staff was amazing and the property is beautiful. Loved the location easy walking to shopping and delicious restaurants!!
Too short- we’ll be back!
Too short! Loved the welcome drink, the bathrobes, the room! A coffee in the morning on the house would have been lovely, all hotels in US provide coffee in room or in lounge. Overall great experience- we’ll be back!
They need to figure out what they are - party hotel or serenity retreat? Can’t be both. Very welcoming staff. Our room was as shown on line. No surprises. What surprised us was the evening noise from the restaurant/nightclub house music pounding until 3am. The obnoxious, loud and annoying guests next door. Front entrance alarm went off for what seemed like forever. The hotel doors are frosted glass, offering no noise or light cancellation from the hallway. There was absolutely no reprieve from either. There’s no one to call for assistance. It was a horrible night. No serenity here.
Great location, within the Art District. Their AI concierge was very communicative in preparing for arrival. The hotel offers perks like complimentary welcome drink and sun hats, surfboards, beach towels for lending. The rooms and property very aesthetically pleasing and calming. Would stay here again. Only downfall is no closet or drawers to unpack but a full length bench can be used as space.
Great time in San Jose del Cabo!!
The staff at the Drift was fantastic! Great people, made sure everyone was happy and having a great time! They made dinner reservations for us nearby and their suggestions were spot on. Location was great and so easy to walk everywhere!
Wonderful suite. Staff at the bar and kitchen were extremely nice and helpful.
The property although esthetic especially the common areas was not a warm comfortable place. The concrete everywhere in room was not conducive to relaxing. No chairs to sit on. No where to hang clothes or put clothes on. Massive concrete bath and shower in middle of room not practical. Water everywhere. A couple comfortable chairs and area carpets would be a good start. For the cost of this place and what is mentioned above I would not stay again or recommend it.
A great place with a perfect location, I truly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended!
The design is beautiful and the food and drinks were delicious. However the parking was impossible due to a protest the day we arrived. The rooms were quiet but the lack of shelving for toiletries and lack of hooks for hanging up clothes was frustrating. Also the lack of coffee makers or available coffee in the morning was disappointing. Nice hotel but needs to improve the amenities.
It is a stunning property! So close to downtown and their food and drinks were wonderful. Wish we had stayed here for our entire vacation.
Safe
Alex who checked us in was excellent and Eve was so helpful. We enjoyed our stay and cant wait to visit again.
Beautiful spot for a quick trip to San Jose
Beautiful hotel and kind staff. It's mostly self-service besides the restaurant/bar, but overall it's a perfect place for a solo traveler or couple. The room was beautiful and the property is stunning. You really cannot beat the location - it's on a quiet street, but a block from the square and the best restaurants in the area. A few things to note: 1. Sound from the restaurant really carries (my room was directly next to it) - It was just one night and on a Sunday, but I've heard they have DJs on weekends and I imagine that would be quite loud. 2. I was only there for a quick stop, but I imagine the exposed shower in the middle of the room wouldn't be the most practical for daily use.
Beautiful hotel - great food too!!
Great! Would stay again !
Super cute place to stay in Cabo, stylish and fun, close to restaurant and shops.
Beautiful hotel with a great bar and restaurant. Friendly staff. Walking distance to all that San Jose has to offer.
NOISE
Alex & staff were amazing & so friendly. The location is not easy to navigate. Street parking only and most importantly, this is a big party hotel bar & area. They give you earplugs to help with noise. The ones they provided were not very good but luckily I had a pair in my luggage that worked. But, loud music until 4 am & roosters crowing at 5 am. Not great if you came here to sleep. Seriously, Alex was so friendly and obviously concerned. I’m sure he has to deal with this often. I know carpet is against the eco- friendly theme, but it would help. The hotel sends out a text around 8 explaining quiet hours from 8 pm to 6 am. Hilarious. Someone needs to inform the bar.
Great spot in San Jose Del Cabo within. Cool rooms and great restaurant. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend.
Sooooo noisy on a Thursday night. DJ on property played till 2330 but then the surrounding clubs were very noisy till 0400. Not restful or relaxing. But.... the property is beautiful and the stagf is amazing. Only complaint about the room is it was so stark and minimalistic that there was no place to set luggage or unpack. Concrete didnt help with noise absorption. Would't stay again for price.
We were unable to find the property and when we called, they were unable to provide the necessary directions. I would not recommend this place.
Love it
Excellent location and overall really good, well maintained, good staff, but it could get a little noisy on if you stay on a weekend.
Beautiful oasis
We absolutely loved our stay at Drift! It was incredibly clean, the staff were fabulous, the food and drinks were amazing. It was a beautiful oasis. You are within a block of the art walk with fantastic stores and restaurants. We are already booking our next trip to come back.
Excellent location, overall a great place to stay but on the weekends it could get a bit noisy late at night.
Felt like torture.
Beautiful photos of the hotel - the reality is quite different. Rooms are small and glass door to each room is only source of light. Zero privacy unless this is closed with curtains. Toilet was less than 2 feet from the pillows of the bed. Shower wouldn’t drain. Extremely loud music from 11pm-5am from nightclub next door. They then had the cheek to charge me $50 in a “resort fee” to “use their surf boards and the pool” - pool is tiny, inch-thick mattresses laying on concrete next to it. Also pool was in shade virtually all day. Surf boards - had no idea where these were, the venue was 2 miles from the beach. Felt like a total scam. Very unhappy with my stay.
** You CANNOT stay here **
So the hotel is beautiful and the setting is serene. Downtown SJ Cabo is quaint. However…the hotel is directly across from a huge nightclub and the music is BLASTING until exactly 4am. I’m sure the hotel will respond that I’m a ‘light sleeper’ etc but that’s absurd. You can hear the music from the nightclub 5 blocks away and in the hotel the walls shake from the bass. They warn you about the music at check in and suggest you wear the earplugs provided in the room. AirPods Pro don’t it so maybe the Bose Quietcomfort or some enterprise grade noise cancelling headphones if you can sleep with them. Otherwise good luck to you, you’ve been warned and will be complaining along with everyone else. Your best bet is to find out which nights the nightclub is open or avoid this place like the plague.
Awesome experience
Drift is a great property. Comfy beds and amenities, excellent food (!!!) and such attentive, friendly staff. I loved the aesthetics and fun use of water at our entry door.
VERY UNIQUE LITTLE GEM
Drift Hotel has a style all its own...industrial meets organic zen. Loved the location...right in the heart of the Art District and Downtown. ALL the staff were professional, gracious & helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. I definitely recommend this jewel.
The hotel is very nice, room and amenities are great!! The only thing we did not like was the notice. Music is too loud and the windows are not sound proof! Besides that great hotel
This hotel is OK. Very basic for the price but room was clean. There are better hotels in the area that are less expensive.
This place was so beautiful!!! It had a cool and modern look to it . The staff was so inviting and very attentive to all of our needs. Also loved how we can walk steps to all the cute shops and the best restaurants without having to drive around. Will definitely recommend to everyone we know and will be coming back to stay
This beautiful boutique hotel surpassed everyone of my expectations! The property is located steps away from town Square and near amazing restaurants and boutiques! The staff is beyond friendly and helpful and the property was amazingly clean! A robe, a straw hat, lotions and other bath products were at hand…those things add such a warm touch! Only a one mile walk to the beach and Uber friendly!! I will be back soon!
liked everything Alex and the staff very accommodating and very helpful.
EVERYTHING about the Drift Hotel was amazing! From the moment I walked in I was impressed by how clean and gorgeous the place was. Most importantly, THE STAFF! Everyone was so accommodating and welcoming; they were all very knowledgeable on fun things to do while visiting Cabo. The hotel was in the center of the city, and only 20 minutes away from the airport; which made it easy to walk around safely and explore the beautiful things the city has to offer. Thank you to everyone at Drift for this wonderful and unforgettable experience. I will definitely see you all soon! -Hasan Khedry
Beautiful property with amazing bar and staff.
Alejandra and Lucy were absolutely amazing even out concierge Melissa was so helpful. Loves this staff and the hotel :)
Great
The property is very cute and central for those wanting to explore the city of San Jose Del Cabo from a walkable location. However, the reviews regarding the noise levels are NO exaggeration, and it is to be noted that the noise is not limited to just the evening. We found it very difficult to take a 30 minute mid-day nap. Thankfully, the ear plugs provided helped us sleep through the night. In general, it was difficult to find a place in San Jose for the night where the value matched the price tag. This place was no exception, but we ultimately chose it due to the location and comfort. Aside from the noise, the place was very comfortable, cute, and clean. The standard rooms are very tiny, so I chose to book the queen suite. Upon arrival, reception was very friendly. However, there much confusion and stress regarding the room we were supposed to receive, which left a bad taste in our mouths. Initially, the hotel attempted to put the issue between their system and Expedia on us to resolve, but thanks to my boyfriend’s patience/persistence, the hotel eventually found their error and resolved the situation. It was very kind of them to allow us to check-in when our room was ready and not make us wait until 3pm. A “free” welcome drink is provided upon check-in, which is well deserved for the price of the lodging. Although there is a pool, this place is better suited for those wishing to explore the city versus those wishing to relax and soak up the sun.
Super funky and fun
LOUD.
PLEASE beware if you are staying at The Drift during the weekend...the music at a club across the street is truly unbearable. We are two young people who normally can handle noise but this was otherworldly. Our entire room was reverberating from the noise. The music went until 4am and the hotel does not warn you how incredibly loud it is. We thought the provided earplugs were for the construction next door but no...it was for the FULL blast music. We had a horrible sleep and immediately left in the morning.
Amazing place, great design and great staff!! The location is also great!!
The Drift Hotel is a lovely spot to get away. It lacks the frills of most luxury hotel spots, so you’re without large closets, daily room servicing, or even bedroom fridges. But you’re in paradise so there’s no need to stow away in your room; the hotel is designed to encourage folks to congregate together in a communal courtyard with a heated pool, table tennis, fire pit, and an amazing hotel bar / restaurant. The food is superb, and the drinks are even better. The staff was courteous and helpful (a special shout out to José, who always made sure our glasses weren’t empty, was an endless supply of suggestions and tips, and absolutely kind and welcoming). The Drift is centrally located and there numerous restaurants and bars in its vicinity - you can get anywhere by walking. The big downside is the club across the street, which had a raucous crowd and loud music well into 2-3 am. The room supplies ear plugs, but you can still feel the heavy bass.
The property is very beautifully designed. However, we were hoping for more hotel amenities such as a formal check in and cleaning daily, but it felt more like a air bnb that way. Restaurant on site is great and the location is perfect for walking around the city. However, it is close to a open air bar and one night it was very loud, but I guess that is expected if you want to stay in the heart of the town. Pool was lovely, but we were there in Winter and it doesn't really get sun until noon. Overall, had a lovely experience but don't know if it was worth the price.
The property was very modern in its design with a lovely pool area and open-air bar/lounge. The staff was very helpful, courteous, and attentive with minor exception. The shower was open in the room, and, seemingly unique to our room, was that the dials were away from the shower, so you had to get out of the shower to adjust the temperature. There was no heat option for the room, only a/c. There is a nightclub close by, and on their open nights, while you don’t hear the music with ear plugs in, you can feel the bass. The food and cocktails/mocktails were excellent, being some of the best we had in the Los Cabos area.
I was happily surprised with Drift. From the minute I arrived, I was greeted first by Jonathan. He took my luggage to my room, and was always accommodating in regard to any questions I had. Everyone was available and friendly, but Jose Morales took it to the next level. I will miss chatting with him over my many cups of morning coffee! All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Drift at San Jose.
The hotel is cute and chic and it looks really cute and inviting HOWEVER I would never stay here again. There is a rooftop bar across the street (we could see it from our window) that blasts music until 2 or 3am. It was unbearable. I felt as though I was at a house party sleeping in my bedroom while a DJ booth wa literally set up outside my door. I tried the earplugs that came with the hotel - literally made no difference. I tried the ear plugs I brought - again no difference. My fiancé and I both ended up sleeping with our Ajrpods in our ears to use the boise canceling feature to drown out the sound - helped a little but stil heard and felt the thumping of the music. If you will be out partying all night then I guess you wouldn’t mind staying here but we lost so much sleep it ruined our experience in San Jose. We honestly dreaded bed time at the hotel. I am NOT exaggerating when I say it was as though Drake and Bad Bunny were literally performing in our room. Like a private concert we wanted nothing to do with. Do not recommend.
Excellent staff, cool place to stay.
Very nice place to stay in San Jose Del Cabo, great location, great concept. Definitely we are staying here next time in town.

Absolutely lovely hotel, but not for getting a good night's sleep. Even on a Monday night, the extremely loud local music/ club venue raged until 2am. Even though the hotel provided earplugs. It doesn't help.
