Amaizing
The hallway had an awful smell. The had broken furniture on the hallway
The hotel itself is unique architecturally. It's very eye catching. Unfortunately it seems like it's on the same level it was at 30 years ago. We tried calling room service several times but we didn't get an answer. Places offering better facilities are more reasonably priced.
The staff are great The facility in poor condition
The staff were welcoming and pleasant. The room was perfect. Taxi to the airport was punctual and affordable.
Nice breakfast!Exceptional customer service!Would highly recommend!
Excellent
Amazing
I liked the fact that the room was clean
Great service
I MOSTLY ENJOYED THE HOSPITALITY. THANK YOU.
We had a good stay. The staff was welcoming. The hotel was clean enough. The food good. Good parking needed for cars picking up guests. Still a good place to stay.
Its central amd clean
Overall good just hiccups at the start
Good hotel
Good hotel. Provides all you need. Food service is a bit slow
Amazing
It was amazing, friendly staff
Convenient location. The hotel is well looked after
Easily accessible with several food places within walking distance
Terrible service! Make sure you book the correct Cresta Lodge and not Cresta Hotel. No one helps you. Dodgy place.
My stay. Great
Great service. Excellent service from Kimberly at reception, Ernest and Warmly who was attending to the rooms. Would greatly recommend to friends and relatives.
Great location to visit Harare, downside is that because it's so central it can be quite noisy. Bathroom wasn't up to b standard of rest of room, shower leaked
A good hotel for the location
The hotel is a bit dated looking, but for the part of town it's in you're unlikely to find anything better. My room was generously sized and the bathroom was clean. Good breakfast options - just wish the coffee was not the same as the granulated stuff you get in the hotel room. The staff were very helpful. They printed off a flight boarding pass for me, which I appreciate, and gave me a bowl to have some noodles in my room in the evening.
The place was clean. Even though the economy is bad right now , it’s nice to still come to a hotelthat still maintain excellent standards. I love coming to Cresta and the stuff is wonderful. Good people😊😊😊
Harare hotels are priced quite steeply so Jameson is a pleasant surprise. The staff are very friendly and helpful and attend promptly to queries. The carpets in reception really need to be thrown away. They make reception look dirty.
Good Hotel in Downtown Harare
I was pleased with the hotel and would stay there again when I return to Harare. It is well located for the downtown area, clean, and everything works. The staff is first rate. The food in the dining room, dinner and breakfast was very good. Billing and follow through on pricing left something to be desired but I would be much more adamant on receiving the proper rate before I went to the room.
Fair
Great hotel but need serious interior upgrade.
Important is to open the restaurant for the whole day, so that it's possible to have meetings and drink something.
Location was great, aircon and staff were great. The breakfast and dinner were not good, a lot needs to be done there.
I was up for just two nights. The Cresta Jameson is a good choice for Zimbabwe, but a bit worn and basic compared to other international hotels.
Another stay at Jameson
Hotel definitely overdue for a refurbishment! But service and personnel attitude make up for a lot of the deficiencies. Price is hard to beat and the location walking distance from the offices I had to visit was just perfect. Stayed at the hotel before and will again when in Harare.
Clean, convenient & good value
Staff are very friendly, rooms are clean, breakfast has cereals, typical hot food and fresh fruit. Good WiFi. The front of the hotel can be noisy from road noise so perhaps ask for a room on an upper floor or at the rear of the hotel.
Unfunctioning water basins and the use of.old towels is not welcome
The hotel close to the city centre and it sometimes gets noisy from traffic. We were in the second floor and you literally hear everything people outside the hotel were shouting about
Friendly staff and good breakfast. Room was reasonably comfortable. An easy walk to all points of interest, restaurants and supermarkets in city centre. Taxi readily available outside of hotel. Good location if you prefer to stay in city centre.
Amazing
The hotel was very good, the staff were excellent and helpful good breakfast, the only problem was they did not have room service and the noise from outside other than that is was excellent I really enjoyed staying there and would recommend anyone going there.
I did not enjoy my meals because they were served on ccld plates. Staff members were all very nice.
Nice and central to all main activities, only disliked the dull lighting which isnt for reading, and also my room was facing Samora Machel Avenue. Consider sound proofing that sleepless traffic; better rooms facing the service lanes
Second home
Jameson has become a second home, staff are lovely! Always use Cresta Jameson for business trips and short breaks and recommend them always! Good value for money!!
Located in centre
Rooms very dated. Pool very poor and dirty breakfast was good but buffet at night was poor Rooms could have been cleaner. Old fashion steel windows draughty and traffic outside was noise
Hotel needs renovation
Hotel is in need of renovation and the breakfast was poor. The sausages were hard as if they had been kept in the freezer for months.
Nice stay
The hotel is well located at the city center. Room was comfortable and clean with a good hair dryer by the wall. Excellent breakfast with a large selection of foods. The only problem was that the switch to turn off the lights from your bed was not working, so I had to get up and turn the lights off. The manager asked me about my room while I was having breakfast and I explained to him the only problem and he took a note.
Nice comfortable accommodation
Nice comfortable room and nice dining/ breakfast area. The surrounding area doesn't seem too good but that is probably due to the economic strain.
Amazing Zimbabwe
The stay was amazing .I had booked a night after getting married and my sister booked another night for me and my wife.
One night stay. Was quite disappointing / pricey
Not terrible, but also not good. I could have recommend several improvements that would have increased the occupancy.
Amazing! Friendly hotel staff
Not bad good staff, room was comfy just the noise from outside very terrible
Nice hotel, close to city centre
Due to flight delays my check-in was after midnight but staff were very nice and patient. Thank you.
Terrible
Terrible experience, the hotel gave an occupied room to us and we walked into the room with another family inside! Then the hotel charged an additional USD 48 by mistake and could not refund It! Terrible and a rip off experience!
Good
Nice
Good
It was a good hotel nice and clean staff were very helpful especial the guy who used to clean my room he was very good. Would book that again on my visit to Zimbabwe.
Good hotel close in the city Centre
Jameson is a value for money hotel in Harare. View from the room was of the backyard. The restaurant could be improved. Breakfast is ok but the quality of dinner is relatively poor. Service in restaurant is friendly but very slow. Waited 20 mins one evening until eventually I had to get up and call the waiter. Had a leathery fillet one evening that was not possible to eat. Staff were friendly and helpful all over. Housekeeping extremely efficient. Good experience.
Ok hotel for Harare. Staff very friendly, but rooms could need some improvement
Excellent Service
Exceptionally good, we enjoyed the stay at Cresta Jameson. It was fantastic and a monumental place to be ALWAYS. See you there next time.
Nice Hotel in city centre, easy to get to airport. My experience was good.
Bad experience
My credit card didn't go through and they kicked me out without giving a chance to explain or time to rectify the issue with my bank in SA.
Nice hotel in town
It was good, close to places i had come for. The fact that it in town makes it convinient, they should continue working hard to make the hitel more nicer
Great affordable place
Its proximity to the CBD is awesome
The hotel rooms were filthy and stuffy. Cigarette butts and potato chips under the bed is a sign of significant lack of cleanliness.
Excellent Hotel at Central location
The rooms are huge and spacious. You have everything required for a comfortable stay. Soft and comfortable bed, Satellite channels, free toiletries and tea/coffee maker along with city view from the room and at central location. The buffet breakfast is excellent with variety of choices. You have a business center and a travel desk for your other needs. But no lunch and dinner available as the restaurant is closed. Even the spa and swimming pool was out of order and not working. These small errors takes away the beauty and the brilliance of the hotel that it could be. But still I would recommend anytime and to everyone to enjoy your stay here. Certainly I would be here again whenever I visit Harare.
Location is good
A lot to be desired customer service is poor staff act like they don't care or like they are doing you a favor by booking in the hotel
Excellent staff
The excellent staff made our stay unforgettable! 20 days of feeling on top of the world. Made heaps of friends. The hotel is in the process of a major much needed spruce up without inconveniencing their clients. We didn't want to leave. Going back in October and can not wait to be amongst these warm welcoming staff again. The chef does an amazing job but is unfortunately restricted in what he is allowed to cook. He is very talented therefore I'd love if they gave him more freedom in this regard. The swimming pool area was quiet and we spent hours there with a dear friend. Our table had a clean table cloth and our beer, wine glasses and ashtrays were clean and fresh every morning we got there. No request was ignored whether Big or small.
Good hospitality
Conveniently close to airport, good hospitality
Nice hotel close to all amenities
Good but disappointed by the archaic television sets that are very difficult to watch. Also the restaurant does not serve lunch and dinner forcing one to go out and buy something.
very bad
the service from the front desk to the restaurant to the room was so bad. no replacement of towels, food not good even the customer service. only one lady with short hair was friendly. will not recommend this hotel to anyone. it looks like the standards of the hotel are dropping very bad. I used to enjoy and love the place but now with the poor service not anymore
The hotel is well located but is not well looked after. I had issues with the shower which would not properly mix -- the water was either hot or cold. The staff were fairly good.
LOCATED IN THE HEART OF THE CITY
Serene enviroment despite being in the CBD.Swimming pool at the apex of the building, gorgeous.I experienced the most welcoming enviroment and my double room was pristine and traditionally decorated, wonderful.I preferred to spend my casual time at the hotel and in the local club.I met the local people as well as visitors like myself and thankfully to CLEARTRIP,I interacted with someone who had availed one of your packages, spledid. You are doing a tremendous tourism job.
Nice hotel in the central business district
It was ok, I only spent a night. Very helpful staff and within walking distance to most shops and government offices. Would gladly recommend it to a friend and would book for a short stay in future
My stay at Cressta Hotel for HEALZ One 2016
It was good. I have used the hotel before
Value for money
Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Hotel needs to invest in new linen , curtains, etc. Room was neat and clean.
Substandard Service at Jameson Hotel
No standard amenities you would ordinarily find in a standard accommodation. Whilst some staff members were friendly and all. They are aloof to guest request and no sense of customer care. A lot needs to be done to make a customer feel at home. Lousy cleaning and response to guest response. Clearly they only care about money not the customer. I guess the hotel has great potential but lacks proper management that values tourism.Convenient location for budget travelers. It would fit as a back packer accommodation
There was no porter to assist with luggage
no food, no truthfulness
told standard rooms are full when there were lots of empty ones.
Cheap room.
The staff are great! I got a cheap room, the aircon didn't work so the staff gave me a blow heater which was fine.
Not good
Paid 106 us no breakfast but rooms at the hotel were 70us
Area ok,near shops e.g..
Waiting 1hour,before taking to our room!without offering something to drink!Staff try to be kind! and helpful! In the room, smells window closed,no fans at least!only one cup and one glass, for two people! The mattress must go on the garbage truck! My body, very sore of that old mistress!what a shame, the bedding, very bad! This was not what u advertise!will not enter yr property again!no take away breakfast,as we requested, pay for two meals, only got one, left Monday morning 05H15!Shuttle service very good!
Hotel Convinience
7 nights stay was great, though some nights I was away however it was a convenient location for me. Thanks I enjoyed my vacation.
Poor Customer Service
Pathetic customer service hotel refused to owner the reservation.
Friendly helpful staff
I arrived at ten pm....late in Zim. Staff helped me quickly transfer my bags from the taxi to the check-in area. Found friendly, efficient check-in staff. Quick clean elevator to the fourth floor. Hall smelled of tobacco smoke but room smelled fresh and was clean. Only four channels on the TV but at least one was CNN. Would have been nice to have breakfast included but it wasn't (and this was mentioned on my booking confirmation).
sabbatical
I was not impressed with the noise coming from downstairs could not sleep well. Was in room 223, the room was not cleaned properly the next day
torn linen
The room was too small for a dulaxe room and bed linen plus towels were torn.
Bad experience
Rooms were not clean.Did not get breakfast for two of my family members as they left on 3 /02/16 am.The cleaner purposely didnt clean my elderly mom' s room. Its a shame because i will never use Cresta Jameson hotel again. My sister who was allergic to beef and told staff was given beef, when she reminded staff they just removed the beef sausage from her breakfast on the morning of 31 January 2016.I am very disappointed.
Hotel situated in town, easy to access.
I booked the hotel, was given a room with bird pooh, birds must have flown in and out as the windows were open.I saw bed pooh but ignored it as i just wanted to sleep.I had booked another twin room for my mother and sister. They were dumped in a noisy room where all the noises of the cars and passerbys could be heard. The cleaner wouldnt clean my mother's room! Its awlful that elderly people are discriminated against in their own country of birth. Also, take away for my mother was not prepared today.I had already left for Uk and she was upset because I arranged her breakfast last night.I am disgusted and would not be using this hotel nor reccommend it.
This hotel is better than a 2 star hotel
The staff was very friendly and helpful, very good
OK STAY
Average hotel, staff friendly, breakfast is good, rooms are very dated
The standard is poor looks an old building
The hotel is of poor standard
Decent, clean, comfortable, up-to-date hotel. Quite affordable. Centrally located - close to restaurants and shops. Has a good restaurant itself with a dinner buffet and free breakfast buffet in the morning with an excellent selection.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Fair
Good as it was closer to where I had business. Your waiters need to loosen a bit. It's not about serving only but they need to be friendly. The tall guy who helps with the luggage is excellent. Can't remember his named
it was good
Pleasantly Blessed by Zimbabwe
I am a preacher and stayed at the hotel with my assistant. We booked on the Hotels.com site and was pleasantly surprised by the deals. Our rooms was comfortable, everything worked. The rooms was cleaned continually and all special requests was catered for, they were quick to respond. I needed printing (although extremely expensive - it was available). The staff went out of their way to get us what we needed. We came in at all hours of the night and day and the staff was always friendly, helpful and it truly felt like a home. I was booked on the fifth floor but the room was not what I expected, front desk immediately booked me a great room on the fourth floor. I loved the dark décor of the room as it made one feel safe. Fresh water was always provided. As we are from South Africa we expected to feel a little unsafe but that was not the case at all. We wandered around the hotel and streets to find articles that we needed for the conference and not once did we feel unsafe. We will certainly stay there again next year. We could however recommend that the gift shop be managed by the front desk and opened on demand should a tourist wish to buy some memorabilia gifts. We did not have time to buy gifts for our family and assumed we could do it at the gift shop but it was never opened. Regards to all the personnel, chefs and specially to Tickey, Amanda and Martha. We will see you next year. God bless.
Good stay at The Cresta Jameson
Whilst time and lack of money has not been kind to the once proud hotel, The Cresta Jameson has great customer and concierge services.
Downtown hotel - Good value for money
Very satisfied. Initially we were booked in a room with a bit of a smoke smell. There was no problem switching to another room.
Business Stay
Good clean hotel in main street near everything. Really could not fault it. Yes, it may look tired and needs updating but very clean, very clean in fact and all facilities in room. Breakfast like any hotel, good variety. You cannot beat the price. Am returning for 10 days in 2 weeks.
Stay at Cresta Jameson
The shower didn't work and there was no hot water. There is a significant amount of damp coming through the wall between the bedroom and bathroom. Other than the reception area the hotel is in need of refurb.
Value for money.
Nice facilities, helpful staff. I am was satisfied with service. I would not say I had an out of body experience but they did many thing right
Staff were always willing to help. The hotel is old but very clean. It is close to all amenities and you can go to different parts of the time easily, walking or in a taxi. I would go back there and will recommend to friends and family. Secret trick; it's cheaper booking via Expedia than directly through the hotel. Expedia had competitive rates, almost half of what you pay directly to the hotel.
Great location, budget hotel.
Decent budget hotel, but mattresses need upgrade! Very uncomfortable bed!
A satisfactory experience
The gentleman who received us was very pleasant indeed, Petersen, I think his name was. He assisted my wife to settle when we arrived at the reception on the evening of 25 March. He even helped take our luggage to our rooms.
need to renovate...
They, sincerely need renovation of such a good property at an excellent location.
Below average
People are warm towards you but have no sense of urgency when it comes to service however when it comes to payment then... Food was terrible, waitress service was awful, Although the duty Manager seemed to care, waited too long to just transact with my visa card. Not coming back... Overpriced in relation to standard
Cresta Jameson | Hotel in Harare | Travala.com
The staff is very accommodating, but the location is bad and overpriced for the area.
