The room was clean, good for a one night stay The shower curtains smelled sour, made the whole bathroom smell funky
The employee came to let us know that we were going in the wrong door and showed us where to go. He saw us through the camera lthat watches around the Inn.
Easy check in, room could have been cleaned better, and easy to find your rooms
Very clean and cozy. Had a quick stop while travelling. Beds were very firm to my liking but not husbands. Three full beds room was great for the 6 of us. Would recommend to others.
Great
Decent , convenient property
Convenient stopover just off I 80. It is moderately priced and relatively clean and comfortable. The desk folks were quite friendly and accommodating.
Was not really thrilled? Really was not a great hotel. Save a couple of bugs
Worst stay ever!!!
The room was a king with hot tub (if you can call it that). Went to use the hot tub but as it was filling at about a 1/4 of the way, the water turned ice cold and stayed that way so it was not able to be used. Went to take a shower, the same thing happened...the water turned ice cold after about a minute and stayed that way. The thermostat doesn't work at all, could not watch tv unless i wanted to get up and change the channel from behind the tv as both remotes did not work. You could also hear the people above us loud a clear, stomping around, etc. The only good thing was the overnight girl(didnt get her name but she had purple hair) was very polite and tried so hard to help fix the remote problem but to no avail. Will never book here again...not sure if i will ever at Red Roof again!!!
Clean. No bedbugs. Just fine for one night. Walls are thin though. Slightly above average for a motel. Wish they had breakfast, but price is spot on
trashy
.
Was super clean
Horrible experience. Not only will i never stay here again, I'll never stay at any red roof.
Look the place is only good for just a quick stay. We stayed overnight for a gaming event which was down the street. The heater was loud as hell. Front desk never gave me the Tv remote that i asked for twice. The bed was hard as a rock but to be honest i actually had a good sleep on that bed. Cleaning could have been better . Overall i would grade it a C -.
For a lower cost place to stay… they exceeded my expectations. the property and room was updated, clean and brightly illuminated at night adding to my feeling security.
good
The check in was easy. Even though the front desk was confused what amenities were available. The room was nice, nicer than most rumors of “Red Roof”. The property was quiet. The heat worked well. The bathroom had a wrapper from the previous guest’s soap. And the shower was gross. It drained incredibly slow. To the point you get uncomfortable standing in it for more than a few minutes. The microwave wasn’t plugged in and we couldn’t access the outlet behind the bureau. For some reason the bedsheets made my eyes swollen every morning. The second night was interesting.. our key card would only unlock the hallway door but suddenly stopped waiting for our room. Which was insanely frustrating considering it was 11:30pm and we had to go all the way around to the front to fix it. My kids were crying, locked out of our room in the cold. The front desk attendant was no where to be found. And when he finally appeared he was rude and unapologetic and unprofessional. Accusing me of being the reason the card didn’t work even though I ensured him I had kept the cars away from magnetic disturbance. At check out he offered a half apology which would’ve been much better received at the time of the incident instead of leaving me feeling all night like I was in a place that didn’t care about my stay. I checked out two hours early and housekeeping was still rushing me out of the room.
Good
The floor in the room was very dirty, like it had not been mopped in weeks. Our feet were dirty and black within seconds after walking on the vinyl floor barefoot. We only noticed it because the sheets got black when we got into bed with the dirt from our feet. Also there were 12 cigarette butts outside our door and no one picked them up for 2 days. In addition, we could hear and feel every step the people made upstairs and it woke us up 3x in the middle of the night. The front door was also very drafty and did not shut evenly letting in a lot of cold air. The heater made a loud clunking noise every time the heat came on, and it often woke us up. We did not get much sleep or any restful sleep. We don't think we 'll be staying there again.
Checked in for one night while travelling with my wife. Was given room 121. The room dirty, very worn out, had an unpleasant and was inconsistant with the quality ive come to expect from a red roof property. It was 10F outside and the room was extremely cold because the heater was off. I told myself it was my own fault for assuming all red roofs were equal and to make the best of it. My wifr and I woke up at 1:30am because it was extremely cold again. Turns out the heater quit. I called down to the front desk repeatedly for 10 minutes, nobody answered. I got dressed and walked around the block to the front desk and which was unattended. I waited almost 30 minutes until someone showed up. I explained the situation to the front desk attendant and requested a room change, the attendant kept insisting he would come to the room to try and trouble shoot the heater. I told him that was not acceptable, it was 2:00am, my wife was in bed, I did not want anyone coming to try and trouble shoot the heater. I just wanted to switch rooms. The attendant agreed and gave us room 317. We packed our bags in the middle of the night and switched to room 317. To my surprise, practically brand new!! It was clearly recently refurbished. It had a new tv, new heater, it was very clean, no wierd smell. This was the type of room I had experienced staying at any other red roof. If rooms like this were available why wasnt I given it to begin with?!?? Very poor experience!
Too many crack heads
Good
From the check-in process it was sketchy. The hotel is very much is need of a good rehab and cleaning. There were random hairs on the floor, in the shower/tub, and in the linen. Huge dust balls and dusty spider webs everywhere. Had to keep going to the office to reset the room keys and ask for simple toiletries like toilet paper and soap. Its definitely a case of "you get what you pay for"!
This was the worst hotel property I have ever encountered. I was booked for 5 days and did not “qualify” for having my room cleaned or service with clean towels or paper products, or have the trash in the room emptied. I had to go to the front desk and request clean towels and paper products , I asked for tissues and was given 3 white paper napkins that you would get from a napkin dispenser in a diner. I asked what I should do with the towels we had used and the trash and was told “throw it outside your door & someone will pick it up. The room was equipped with a light sensor so when you enter the room it goes on & stays on for approximately 20 minutes then shuts off if you don’t move. During the night if you turn in bed the light goes on, then you have to get up push the top of the sensor & run back to the bed and hope you don’t trip the sensor again. It was a very stressful stay, I left a day early due to everything I mentioned above. Don’t waste your money on this property, they should pay us to stay there..
Never again
My husband and i stay at red rood inns around Pennsylvania throughout the year. This was the absolute worst we have ever been to. We got doubled charged. Counter lady wasnt any help. Rude more or less. The tub curtain had scum, threre we leftover items left by pervious guests. No hairdryer. My shower was cold. Very little warm water. The bed was like sleeping on rocks. Guests upstairs were beyond loud at 1 in the morning. Then we left for breakfast at 8 am and they changed the locks so we were lo ked out of our room. Check out is at 11am and i even asked the man that works there just to make sure. Told him we were going for breakfast and we were coing back. And came back to our keys not working. So went to the desk gave the man his keys told him thanks for locking the door when you knew we were coming back. He just smiled. PLEASE RED ROOF INN WATCH WHO YOU GIVE THESE FRANCHISE TOO. Sincerely.. One pissed off guest.
The only thing i didn't like was that as soon as we checked in a few minutes later the hole town lights went out so we were in the darkness for some time..
Stroudsburg is such a nice little town. Fix this motel up a bit and you could attract more customers
Wifi barely worked, floors are falling apart, AC barely worked. However! It was cheap and did the thing.
we were able to have a jacuzzi in our room
The room was just ok for cleanliness. Precarious parking situation on a very busy street. Spotlights on all night without better curtains to block more light coming into the room. The room smelled like smoke and was excessively dry. The people upstairs were walking around and moving furniture (?) at all hours of the night. Wifi was spotty. No amenities to speak of.....had to keep going to the office to get lukewarm water because I was so dehydrated. Chain lock on the door was broken. The guy at the front desk and the cleaning staff were friendly though.
Could use a coffee maker in room.
Gross
Gross towels, bedsheets, blankets, and pillows. Water damage on the ceiling, blood, dirt, and yellow stains on the bedding, hair and a dead bug on the towels!!! The only good thing about this place is 24 hour check in.
Convenient location
Great customer service! Clean and quiet property. Would most definitely stay there again! And recommend them. Thank you
Beds were uncomfortable. Dog friendly room was on third floor. No area on hotel grounds to walk dog.
The sheets looked unwashed and had stains and hair, along with the shower which was really disgusting, brown tub and hair inside as well. The room wasnt cleaned, that's for sure. The man at the counter was very friendly though.
Nothing
There was two TVs one didn’t work at all the other one was all static hardly see a picture on the tv. And dirt in the drawers and freezer was all iced up inside
The room was so smokey, the smell penetrated all of my belongings. Room still had trash in the trash cans from previous occupant. No toiletries. Other guests were loud and obnoxious. I would not recommend and would never return.
Stay was mostly comfy
The check in experience went well, though we were a little disappointed that because we booked through Hotels.com, the front desk wasn’t able to give us the military discount because we pre-paid. The room was easy to get to from the front desk. The parking lots are well designed for ease of maneuvering your vehicle to be close to your hotel room. The bed was comfy and the air conditioner worked well. The tv was a nice size and well placed. Plenty of room for our clothing. We upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was nice and mostly operated well. Would have liked for the hardware fixtures to be more secure to the tub. The bathroom was my only complaint. The shower has next to no pressure and the water never got warm. When we went to turn the shower off, the knob didn’t seem to have the right connection behind the wall to enable the shut off unless you really turned the knob back and forth excessively 4-6 times. The towel rack is also completely broken and off the wall. I wouldn’t normally complain about these things, but the room was over $250 per night. At that price point, my standards are a bit higher for a properly working shower. Otherwise, the place was clean, updated, and comfortable.
Property was quick & easy to get to after I got off I-80 however, you can tell it has been there forever and rebranded multiple times. Surrounding area is kind of sketchy (at the 7//11 Sonoco next door) and there are some weird looking people stumbling around on the street walking right by. Also, DEFINITELY not worth $201 per night for two double beds. Considering the units themselves are kind of jenky. I'd say $99 would have been fair. Glad I only had to stay one night.
A decent place to stay. Quiet
It was a place to stay for one evening to avoid a long drive home too late at night. An attempt was made to make the room appear renovated via furniture which alludes to a nice place via the online pictures. Poorly laid flooring bows and dips when you walk on it. Musty, dank smell in the room was so bad we had to wash everything in the suitcase because it all smelled after one night. Sheets had holes in them; why you would even put them on the bed is beyond me. Dead bugs behind the toilet. Not sure what was used to clean the mirrors, but they were dirty and streaky. Broken toilet seat that slams down. Faucet to shower and jetted tub (not worth the upgrade at all) were loose and moved off the wall or tub if touched. Water barely gets warm, let alone hot. Air unit is ridiculously loud and kept shutting off. Riff raff hanging around the property makes you wonder what goes on there. We wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend.
Neighborhood little unsafe after dark. Smelled kinda musty
Front desk was awesome and very friendly
Okay for the price
The people were very nice and gave us everything we needed. However the air conditioner didn't work very well and was extremely loud when ever it turned on. The mini fridge was also very loud and woke us up throughout the night
For the most part, it was clean AC, which shut off in the middle of night wake up in a sweat no shower pressure other than that it was a place to sleep
This a a very quaint hotel with in a short walk of Main Street. The rooms are clean and it’s very quiet and private. We stayed here for a spur of the moment weekend away and have nothing but nice things to say about the hotel and staff
Property is very convenient for my needs
Parking is not enough. We went to an event and returned at around 10:30pm and the parking lot was full 😓
Very clean. Looks like it was remodeled recently
The floor was dirty
Nasty
Came in a day early so they accommodated us with a different room so that’s a plus. Next day our original stay in a jacuzzi room, was told it was ready. Switched rooms and didn’t really pay attention. That night went to use the jacuzzi tub and it was GROSS like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Went to the front desk with pics. Was offered a refund. 4 days later still haven’t gotten it. Even after double confirming they would.
Too hot. And I hope the red spots on the floor was paint or juice!!
Okay for 1 night
The hotel is newly constructed my only issue was the people just hanging out there. They brought the furniture from inside the rooms outside to sit on. And my toilet seat was broken.
Room was absolutely disgusting. Took us 3 minutes to turn around and walk out. DO NOT STAY HERE!
El cuarto olía muy feo, la cama súper dura y había muchos mosquitos y lo pero que hay bed bugs.me picaron
Shockingly bad in 2024
This place is a total dump. Stayed there last night 7/13/24. Room was dirty. A few dead bugs on the floor. Also NO BATH TOWELS! Did not notice that until I was in the shower. Also found a few little bugs in the bed after I woke up.
The room was extremely dirty.
Supposed to check in at 3 room wasn’t ready until after 5pm, therefore I booked with another establishment. I would never stay at Roof inn again
Do not stay
Gross check in was a joke they lost my reservation I had to prove I made the purchase The room was dirty there was blood in the blanket took them a half hour to bring up blanket and they just handed us the blanket we had to change the gross one Shower curtain was filthy And the door didn’t look secure you could see the out side thru the crack of it Awful experience
Not the best stay at all
We had to move to another room due to faulty ac & bad floors & we found roaches in are second room
Location is great— that’s all.
Great location….thats it! Old and outdated. Homeless in the woods across the street.
No good ramp for handicap. Alot of debris around. Looks cheap. We needed a TV and micro there was none. TV didn't work, had to be replaced also. Staff was pleasant. Tub very slippery.
Nope
I don't mind dirt and bugs when camping but I expect a clean motel room. Bathroom was ok. Good strong shower. No shampoo or soap. Noisy neighborhood. Did not sleep well. Won't be back.
I the easy accessibility to the highway.
Stay was excellent and staff was very helpful Only for room there is no iron on property, had to go Walmart and purchase forvuse
no hot water
I had NO hot water at all. I called the front desk on the first night and told them. The next night, as I had done prior, I let the water run and run and run. Finally, I could feel a slight warmth. In the shower, it accumulated as beige, dirty water. I got in anyway and the water was lukewarm. By the time I got to my lower legs, it was ice cold again. I complained. They said “let the water run”.
Great place. Very close to everything
Would not recommend
From the outside it looks nice, everything looks new. But the linens and the towels were so filthy. There was hair on everything. Embedded in the towels, in the tub, on the sheets. Nasty.
Good restaurants nearby. Especially enjoyed the Cedar Grill that had Mediterranean food.
Beds was hard it was kind of creepy when people would just stare at you I had 2 kids with me and we ended up leaving early
They wont refund me any money after i found blood all over the sheets
It’s nice
Very clean and smells great very nice rooms just dnt like the showers but besides that amazing place for how it looks
It was really a great experience, we were the first guest after there renovations our room was totally bard new and I must say it was very clean quiet and safe best Hotel, highly recommended
Dirty, loud, doubled price. I complained and they said “you can leave”
Area loud with construction. Never asked to clean room or new towels. Key cards have to be refreshed every day. Wi-Fi problematic, water too cold for shower.
The hotel was being renovated and it was a fair enough place. The beds have metal frames and hardwood floors so it’s noisy
No hot water in the morning. Bad Wi-Fi told the do my work closer to the window for a better signal. Passcode change without notification. No coffee at least in the lobby.
I stayed one night by myself literally just slept there and left in the morning and had to put a 100 deposit that they never refunded.
Currently under renovations and the new rooms a very nice and comfortable and the older rooms are a little dated but very comfortable. The staff is wonderful from the front desk (Elizabeth) and the housekeepers.
Very nice room, just renovated. Missing some things that I'm sure they are working on. There are no hangers, garbage cans ect.
It took a long while for the room to get heated, heater was noisy - on and off, and I heard neighbor’s TV all night long
The property is currently going through renovations, and we were lucky enough to get a newly remodeled room. Excellent! The lobby is going to be so nice, too! Great location and the staff is sweet. Hats off to the front desk attendant, Elizebeth, she was wonderful!
Stay away.
Stayed here once before, so it was my own fault for going back. Newly renovated room, so they didn’t have a trash can, coat hangars, or batteries on the TV remote. (I understand those are difficult things to think of) 😆 But it was a jetted tub room and the hot water came out BROWN. So no tub. Anyway, the ice on the walk outside was slightly visible so I avoided stepping on it. (Rock salt is so expensive these days). Lastly, when I asked about the fact that they had no lore breakfast, they said there was still coffee on the morning. Wrong on that too. Comfy bed though. You be the judge.
The room was surprisingly updated compared to the exterior of the hotel.would recommend staying there
Stayed on 2/16/24. Currently under construction/renovation. Our room's renovation felt rushed and incomplete. No garbage can. No towels. Construction dust all over every surface. Bed looked and felt new, but was very uncomfortable. I reserved a room with a jacuzzi tub and that's not what I got. All that being said... this was probably one of the most inexpensive rooms I've ever paid for. All things considered, it wasnt terrible. But i wouldnt stay here again.
The current renovations look to be pretty comprehensive - the room I had was nicely updated, very comfortable - safe clean room for a night in town
Worst hotel I was ever at. Did not stay the second night.
The hotel was clean. Undergoing some renovations, but the room itself was fine. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel is under renovation
Staff tried to be helpfull, but will not stay there again, at least while this place is under the renovation process. Was on my way and not very expensive in compare to others, but did not worth that at all.
This property is a construction site. The inn is undergoing renovation. The property is full of garbage and debris. The actual inn and room do not look like the photos. The heating was inadequate. The only staff available were workers. There was no breakfast which was advertised in the description of the property. It was an unsafe environment.
Let's start with the basics: the room and bed were fine, normal, updated, except the stained ceiling tiles. But the whole property looks like a dump, literally: there was discarded furniture and fixtures, piles of construction refuse and materials, dumpsters piled with trash, and all kinds of junk everywhere! We had to step over cut up drywall and other trash to get to the office and then also to our room. Down the hall from our room were piles of stuff, etc, There was a sign visible from the road on the lobby door that said "closed", so I seriously thought it was closed, except for the fact that we could see people in some rooms. Then when I approached the lobby door there was a hand-scrawled sign written in orange letters, almost illegible and definitely not readable from the parking lot, that said, "Use window". So being a persistent person, I did, and everything was fine.
Late check in availability
Keep looking
Well, it was a place to sleep. Poorly done rehab of a older hotel, they skimped on everything, not modern, clean or safe. I did not unpack anything for fear of contamination.
First of all, rooms are dirty. They have bugs. The employees are very rude and disrespectful. Worst place I have ever stayed.
Property is undergoing extensive renovation. It advertised included breakfasts, but that was not the case. There were noisy kids and adults in the room next door.
