Great hotel, top marks for amenities however a little out of the way from everything

Great value and modern refurb.

Great price, easy access to building and room with single code. Excellent layout with many places to store belongings, we could even place out suitcase and folded pushchair under the floor at the end of the bed leaving all the floor space. Housekeeping was said to do a clean on the fourth day but this did not happen. Not central but easy tram 3 minutes walk away which takes you into the old town. (And free public transport with the included Basel card.

Clean, lots of storage room, comes with an oven! Location maybe a little out there from the city center but there’s grocery stores, restaurants, cinema and gym next door.

The value for these modern rooms is excellent in this hybrid hotel/serviced apartments/co-working space. Smart, well-designed rooms for individual travelers who don't need the extra frills and services of a hotel and feel comfortable with a location that's a bit outside of the main city center. No issue with public transportation and the Basel Card. To enter, you are dependent on mobile data/WhatsApp to receive the door codes and reception communication has limited hours, so if there are any issues or follow-up questions, you will have to wait (about 3 hours for a response). I'd skip the continental breakfast, which was pretty underwhelming for 22 extra francs per person and didn't match the photo on the website. There were a couple glitches/typos on some communications, which required a couple extra e-mails, but overall, if I come to Basel for 2-3+ days, then I would happily stay here again.

All good except for check in and no staff

Conditions at the hotel are great but it had a bad start. I wanted to do without the hassle and check in at the hotel but there was no one on Sunday so I was wondering why I can't get in the hotel. They should make it very clear that online check in is the only way to enter the hotel. I didn't like that

Far from central

I only stayed here because all hotels in area were sold out. Minimal amenities & lack of power outlets to charge devices were my two main complaints. For the prices they charge, this should have been better appointed. No iron / ironing board in the space, no coffee, sweetener, creamer or stir sticks. Kitchenette had no paper towels or napkins. Bathroom - no shower wash the first night I was there. They fixed this the next day. No tissues in bathroom, and NO face washcloths which I thought very strange. NO power outlet by the desk. Also, lighting was not good in the space. No late check out allowed. NO thank you… if I can avoid, would not choose to stay here again.

They were no clear instructions on how to get to the property. Specifically, in the garage. I had to call Customer Service a number of times finally, someone answered and helped me to find the door that will take me from the garage to the property.

Horrible Experience, not recommend!

I booked an apartment for 3 adults. In the online check-in page, it showed that the apartment has been booked for 1 Adult 3 children. Only one small blanket was provided.

I have stayed at this property more than ten times, and it has been a good experience which is why I have returned. On this last visit, however, I booked the Queen large apartment expecting the best stay, but reality was the complete opposite. The unit was not cleaned well, it was missing cooking equipment, and the one piece of cookware it did have was uncleaned with burned cheese stuck to the inside.

Lack of staff disappointing

We were locked in the parking garage after arriving late. There was no hot water in the bathroom when I wanted to bath and the bathroom lights would not turn on. There was no staff present and the self check in was very inconvenient. Was not for us.

The hotel is nice but it is a co-living property which was not mentioned or explained in your listing. As such it doesn’t have the amenities we usually see in a hotel, front desk help, coffee in the lobby, free breakfast, etc. that said, it seems great for young folks, not so much for seniors. We managed okay with help from some of the people staying here (all nice) and a few calls to the help line. It’s a nice place and probably a good model for less expensive, but still nice, lodging going forward, but not what we expected

It was an ideal place to stay. Close to pubic transport

This is an interesting place.... co-living apartments with a big community area and kitchen. Its nice overall. Being basically a temporary apartment type of living, there's maybe only one person working at any time. This isnt a big deal since most people live here (dont visit) and dont use the front desk much. My only criticism would be that the blankets are too small for 2 people to sleep under

Was really ideal location and super easy to pop to the shops if you want to cook in your apartment or the shared kitchen areas. Only thing to remember is this is not a Hotel so amenities are a little different, i.e. no hairdryer :-) But overall was a brilliant place to stay and will def use again

Newly renovated fresh looking and feeling rooms. Perfect for business travel. Quiet + comfy bed = good sleep. Not directly in the city center, but excellent/frequent public transportation, that is free of charge for those staying in the hotel. Good location for runners/bicycle riders.

The apartments are great. Very clean and spacious. The location is pretty easy to navigate the city from. There’s not always staff around which can be a bit confusing.

Very neat check in process and welcoming staff. Enjoyed the community spaces, the homey vibe and the bar!

I would use this hotel again

This was a stop over in my long drive through Europe. The hotel was convenient, the room was large and clean, parking was in the large Stucki car park was free through expedia, dinner in the hotel was great and the staff were polite. My only criticism would be that reception was unattended from 8:30 pm until the following morning. Breakfast was self service having a good variety of foods.

Love the Hotel Stücki!

The stay was incredible overall and would certainly stay here again. The location is super close to the border (Swiss-side) and easy to get to. Parking is in the basement of the building and spacious. Stayed with spouse, two kids and two chihuahuas…no problems at all. The breakfast too was amazing…simple but very tasty with lots of yummy options for the kids.

This was the perfect place for our family! With three teenage boys, we had enough room for all of us to be comfortable. The boys each had their own bed. There were two WCs and the WiFi was fast and reliable. Breakfast was delicious!

Good choice for Basel

Hotel was nice and in a quiet location near the tram. Malll is next door if shopping interests. Good price and they have a restaurant which we did not try.

Thomas and Victoria at the front desk were excellent. We lost our luggage and they couldn’t do enough to help us get it back in time for our river cruise. They went above and beyond what we expected. Nice, modern and QUIET. Noise isolation towards inside and out rather good. Large construction site opposite one side of the hotel, if it bothers you ask for a room on the other side. Good breakfast too.

Overall nice hotel. Food option could be better but the mall next door with grocery was great. Floor needs better cleaning, lots of grime stuck to the floor and cleaning people only use a broom when mopping and scrubbing is needed.

Solid Budget Hotel

Solid budget hotel, but a little far away from city center. However, the tram is close by and it is fairly easy to travel anywhere you need in Basel. I would recommend this place, especially if you get a good price.

Very clean and quiet hotel. A typical European modern place. We just needed a place to stay for a night before getting on a cruise the next day and it was fine.

Fabulous staff, comfortable beds, great value

I stayed here one night, on my way home from summer holiday in Italy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, quickly responding to any question or request. They went above and beyond when my original plans to eat at the nearby steakhouse did not work out. The offered nice suggestions, in case I wanted to travel into the main city center. I did not try the breakfast, but juice, coffee, tea and water are always available for free in the lobby. On-site parking was easy to manage, and the rate paid for the room seems quite low compared to how I was treated at this hotel. The airco is set at one level (23C, I believe) for the entire facility, with only the ability to increase or decrease 3 degrees Celsius from this temperature. If I stayed longer, I would have requested a fan for white noise while I slept. However, I found the bed very comfortable and the room location very quiet. I highly recommend staying here, if the location is convenient for your plans.

Needs more smaller type meals for dinner. Not everyone wants a large steak, yet there is nothing close as an alternative. Enlarge the restaurant or have a better choice of lighter meals in the bar area

Outstanding staff. Very helpful. Hotel has free clothes washer and dryer. Provided excellent information useful to tourists. Nice gym. Breakfast a bit expensive for what you get, but typical for Switzerland. Near public transportation and a pick up point for the city tour.

Easy Access to the Tram

Prior to our arrival had great communication from the hotel. The hotel staff provided clear directions as to how to take the tram from the train station to the tram stop near the hotel. Worked perfectly. Hotel staff provided information on local shopping and restaurants and made taxi arrangements to get from the hotel to the river cruise line. We had a triple room which is arranged for privacy with the single bed separated by a wall from the main bedroom area. The room was larger than we anticipated and very comfortable for the three of us. Coffee, orange juice, fruit, and a few bakery items were a nice treat in the lobby area.

Only stayed 1 night there but very clean, my room was well laid out and functional. Very comfortable bed. Didn't get to explore local area but there is an excellent steak house next door to the hotel.

Hotel Stucki stay

Arrived at the hotel 10.30 at night and the reception clerk was very efficient. In our bed 11. The hotel was walking distance to the tram line and couple of restaurants. Overall great place to stay for modest tariff.

Had a great time. Trains available for lots of day trips.

We were welcomed by a friendly and efficient member of the reception team who answered all our questions about getting to airport the next day etc. The family room was very spacious and divided into 2 sleeping areas - one double bed at one end and 3 singles for the children at the other. Both ends of the accommodation had its own flat screen Samsung TV and own bathroom. Beautifully bright and clean.

Blah. Cold room, bathroom was fine, although hair dryers didn't work. Mostly clean but it all felt a little cheap. Noisy room not near any tourist sites.

Convenient for Basel Fair

Was there for a trade show and a convenient shuttle took us to Basel fair daily. Easy free pass on tram brought us back nightly. Nice restaurant attatchme and shopping center with grocery store, etc. Room was modern and nice, but pricey at $538.00 nightly. This wasn't a luxurious five star property!

Very quiet - good for business travel

We were in town on business and traveled back and forth to Allschwill. The tram service was convenient. We trammed into town for dinner. Hotel was very quiet

Excellent family rooms

Nice hotel with excellent large clean rooms to accommodate a family of 5. Check in easy and reception very informative. Given passes for the trams to travel the few stops to the city. Overnight parking quite expensive at 16 CHF + city tax 3.5 CHD per adult.

Bathroom wall is translucent glass so it floods the room with light when turned on at night. Not good for a couple. OK for a single.

Excellent

Although outside the city centre it was very easy to get there. Car parking conditions were excellent underground i.e no worry about hitting concrete pillars ! It deserves a higher star rating than 3 but this may be due to its location. Restaurant was ideal for steaks but otherwise uninteresting menu

Would stay again

Stayed for a week, using Basel as our HQ to see various points around Switzerland. Hotel was located outside the central part of the city, but within a 2-3 minute walk of the trolley line. The hotel provides a free public transport pass which allows you to ride the trolleys and buses throughout the city. It was only a 15 minute trolley ride to the central train station. The staff were all very helpful and there is a shopping mall located next door that houses a grocery store so we could pickup snacks for our outings.

Modern and Clean Hotel

Having stayed in Europe for almost two weeks, we long for a modern and air conditioned hotel and we got all we wished from this hotel. Clean, spacious and well maintained, this hotel tops all hotels we have stayed including some 5-star hotels. We stayed in the 3-people family room which is the best designed hotel room we have ever stayed. We would not hesitate to come back to this hotel again in the future!

Short but enjoyable stay

We arrived late in the evening from the airport. Public transport in Basel is free if you are staying there so that saved quite a bit of money, but it meant we had to take the airport bus, a tram and then walk for 10 minutes to reach the hotel. Luckily the hotel was very welcoming and the room was exactly what we needed after our journey. I was particularly impressed by the bathroom facilities which were well laid out and very stylish and the family bedroom for 5 was more like an apartment. It was extremely comfortable and spacious. It was a nice to touch to have free water in the rooms with tea/coffee making facilities, but we also made use of the coffee station and fruit available in the lobby. Although we were not there for long, we were impressed.

Handy for Basel City

Stayed at the hotel during a business trip. It is upmarket and contemporary without being over the top. This is a very tidy and professionally run hotel. The steak house next door is also excellent.

Beautifully well kept hotel and front plaza. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Basel. With free fruit and coffee, tea and fruit juice. the hotel is only a tram ride away from the centre.

We had a short stay. It was a very nice place. It appeared to cater nicely to business, but our family enjoyed it, as well. The nearby restaurant was very good and it was only a short tram ride to the center of town.

Nice hotel in quiet neighborhood

Very clean hotel with comfortable beds and friendly staff. Just a short walk to the tram stop wher in 10 minutes you are in the city center. Free tram and bus tickets are included with every hotel so it is very easy to get anywhere including the airport or train station.

Great Hotel

Hotel staff was extremely friendly and professional. Additionally, they spoke English very well. The room was adequate and nicely set up. I put a slight mark down in room cleanliness due to a very small weird smell that went away after a short while. The hotel was extremely easy to find and parking was easy (which is a blessing anywhere in Europe). Lastly, the attached Steak House was awesome and worth the premium price.

Large, clean, bright rooms and new facilities.

Location is a bit far away by public transport from some other parts of Basel, but there's on site parking. Found a nice clean hotel with large rooms, big clean bathroom and in our room, a secondary room that our infant daughter could sleep in. We liked the coffee, juices, teas, fruit etc in the reception; it's a nice touch.

At last firm pillows

Although this hotel was far from Basel university hospital but tram was running every 7 minutes. Food around this hotel a little cheaper than downtown , and it is very close to Weil Am Rhein , German side where everything is cheaper. Take tram # 8 and you can get tax refund on your purchases :)

Great overnight stay

Very comfortable hotel with a large double bedroom, spacious bathroom, small kitchen. Excellent breakfast and gust amenities. Good but expensive meat restaurant close by. Expensive parking.

TOO EASY

Welcoming, clean. moderm, facilities terrirfic, coffee / tea and available at any time, I love this. I am sick and tired of having to pay for everything in hotels and I travel a lot. Close to airport - perfect. So helpful. They also give you a pass for Public transport. All other hotels should follow this concept - if I am back in Basel - I would go straight there.

Great location for the start of our river cruise

Best Western Hotel Stuecki is a very nice, modern hotel. Our room was large, very clean and was a very modern design. Loved it! There was a beautiful large bathroom with an amazing shower. We only stayed one night prior to our river cruise. Great location for getting to our boat - very short taxi ride. There is also a shopping centre right beside the hotel with a great chocolate shop!! Hotel staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Close to where river cruises embark

Loved the hotel. Very positively surprised by the quality for a Best Western. Great room. They give you a free tram token so you can get around the city. Friendly staff. Buffet breakfast good. Right next to a mall in case you want to go shopping.
