This proposal seeks US$200,000 from the Community Pool to execute a comprehensive brand refresh for Travala.com. The project aims to assist Travala.com to continue its phenomenal growth in terms of booking volume, customer acquisition and member rewards.
Travala.com is perfectly poised for rapid growth. Smashing record after record in 2021, we're looking to build on that momentum by creating the perfect brand for Travala.com as we set our sights on reaching a million users and beyond.
Our current branding and design was initially conceived partly to create an association with major online travel agencies (OTAs) like Booking.com and Expedia. Now, it's time to step out of the shadows and rework the Travala.com brand in a way that is uniquely and definitively ours.
The brand refresh will allow Travala.com to highlight its unique position in the market, bring fresh recognition to our well-established brand, and help reinforce the company's vision, mission, and values in this rapidly changing landscape.
When we first launched back in 2017, the Travala.com brand was created when the community was in its infancy. In the five years since then, our community has grown to become our strongest asset and is an integral part of what sets Travala.com apart from every other OTA.
That's why we're asking YOU to help shape the new brand with us.
If this proposal is approved, we'll be involving you in the process. We will develop and present two distinct brand concepts to the community for review and feedback. Together with the community, we will then determine which branding to adopt and how to refine and finalise the elements of the winning concept, including logo design, key messaging and more. Together, we hope to create a brand you'll love for years and years to come.
We're requesting $200,000 from the Community Pool to contribute towards the cost of the overall brand refresh initiative. This will be used to pay for the hard costs of the project, mostly comprising third party vendors, contributors, and materials. Our lead agency partner will be Ragged Edge, a prominent London-based branding agency specialising in creating differentiated brands for changemakers. Some of their previous clients include Globe Trotter, Grey Goose, Northzone and Papier. The project is proposed to start in May 2022.

If the community votes in favour of the proposal, the company's cash reserves will be used to advance the funding of the project, given the immediacy of the project start date. Travala.com will transfer AVA equivalent to the fiat value of the project from the Community Pool to the company's long-term treasury holdings once voting concludes.
