If you are looking for a great base for some walking in the Dales then this place is great. Good location, good food, warm shower, comfy bed and lovely staff who made us very welcome! Would certainly stay again!! Thank you!
Great Pub Stay
Great location, for our trip to Ingleton Falls. Warm friendly welcome, great pub food and selection of beers ooh and log burner going on cold December night. Room perfect for our needs with great breakfast, defo stay again👍
My wife, daughter and I stayed at The Wheatsheaf combining a work trip with some family time. We felt very well looked after at The Wheatsheaf; the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was a really good size for the three for us and we were all very comfortable. It is also a fantastic location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Lakes, with the beautiful Ingleton waterfall trail right on the doorstep. Thank you to the team! We hope we get to come back!
Loved our stay - we’ll be back
We stopped off at the Wheatsheaf after a very long day of driving. We were cutting it fine to get there in time for dinner but I phoned ahead and let them know we were coming. We arrived 5 minutes before last food order but we were made to feel really welcome and weren’t rushed at all. We had an excellent dinner before we even checked in! The staff were friendly and welcoming. I adjourned to the cosy bar area after dinner for a drink while reading my book. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and these days it feels like a bonus that it’s included in the room rate. We had intended to go up Whernside before heading home to Scotland but the weather was appalling so we’ll just have to come back!
Nice location, close to attractions , ample parking, dog friendly , warm host, hearty breakfast, definitely will chose this hotel if come back to Yorkshire dale next time.
Staff are friendly, can be a bit noisy until the pub closes, yes I know it's a pub lol. Parking can be very busy at times, breakfast I great. Room was kept clean but no attention to detail for example nobody replenished the shower wash in 5 days of cleaning
It was clean and we would stay again. But the food was not so good. We'd eat elsewhere.
Very loud
Food was good. Staff were very pleasant. Stayed in a family room, unfortunately there was a band on that were playing directly under our room from 9-10:30pm so it was ridiculously loud and therefore not family friendly. Room was ok but I feel very overpriced
Relaxation after the Waterfall Trail
Friendly and accommodating staff good choice of food and beverage. Comfortable bed and tranquil location.
Staff were brilliant food was amazing and room was really nice. As I couldn’t be there for breakfast they left me a very nice take away breakfast pack outside my room.
Great location and room,
Had a great one night stay here, the room was very clean and tidy and so was the bathroom. We ate in the restaurant which was also good. It’s a great location place to get to the three peaks, about 15 mins drive to Horton on ribblesdale. The only one slight downside to our stay was that there was a band playing in the pub below and typically we wanted to get an early night and start for the run the next morning. They were finished by 11 though and as someone who any other time would have been downstairs watching it isn’t really a complaint!
Great location in the centre of the village close to the waterfall trail and footpaths to Ingleborough. Pleasant rooms. Good pub style grub. Adequate car park. Beer garden. Very friendly & welcoming staff with a special mention for Kelly and Abigail.
Great place
Fantastic visit to this hotel. Room was lovely and clean, comfy bed, nice towels and even had toiletries. Nice decent sized tv and great variety of teas and coffees. We took our dog Barney and he was made very welcome, even getting a welcome pack. It contain 2 chews, a ball and a poop bag. There were even dog biscuits on the bar for a donation to charity. The bar was nice and with plenty of tables and drinks. A lovely log burner which Barney loved. Fresh bowls of water for him too. We went half board and was worth every penny. The food is amazing. Lots of choices for breakfast and all freshly cooked. The evening meals were delicious too. Being half board you got a choice of a main and a starter or desert. Again all freshly cooked. All the staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return and recommend.
A good weekend away with great food
A lovely room and a brilliant selection of food both for breakfast and dinner.
Comfortable stay - staff were very friendly and helpful.
Clean Room
The room is clean, bed was comfy and good tea making facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We both had full English. Coffee was filtered and not too strong.
Lovely but tired
Beautiful location, exceptional staff, overall a really nice location, needs a little TLC, but that didn't distract overall from a nice stay.
Mixed
We had booked the Cabaret suite, but something was causing a very loud intermittent noise, like a grinding sound. So was offered a different room, but bed was smaller & rock hard. I had booked the "romantic room" and ended up in the "cricket room".... no compensation offered. However, the food was bloody lovely!
Lovely 1 night stay. Great links to local sights which is what we were looking for. Great beer garden, lots of space and very dog friendly. Food was lovely especially the breakfast and staff were very friendly
Very expensive for what you recieved the room very dated with black mold on the ceiling also cobwebs needs a good dusting Above a pub so usual noise expected The beds were comfy and breakfast was very nice some staff were helpful others not so much We paid 122 for 1 night (discounted from 144)
Friendly staff, good choice of food on the dinner and breakfast menu. Comfortable room
Staff great
Lovely friendly place to stay prefect for what we needed.
Lovely traditional pub atmosphere. Comfy beds.
All in all worth the money
A good pub with a beer garden Generally good Got what you paid for really!
The service was amazing but the room was not worth £100 bed was very uncomfortable we did not sleep well
Really friendly staff and made very welcome. Lovely breakfast. Room a bit ‘tired’ but end of season so probably a scheduled refurb due.
A lovely second pleasant trip to the Wheatsheaf. A great evening meal and breakfast.
Great place to stay
Food was good, staff were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be going back
Good stay
One night stay and had evening meal. Everything was good .
It was very good
Excellent stay in the centre of ingleton
Excellent value for money pub hotel. Free parking. Very clean room. Comfortable bed. Great location in Ingleton centre. Very friendly staff. We had an excellent meal and great range of beers. We would definitely stay here again
Absolutely loved my stay at the Wheatsheaf, ideally situated in Ingleton for me to visit all the area's I'd mapped out to visit.Staff are very friendly and helpful.Food was very nice & a lot to choice from for breakfast, good quality, would highly recommend a stay here.
Amazing hotel rooms were fashionable modern and up to date .
Best hotel
Good service and clean room.
Friendly staff. Had a lovely evening meal. Room lovely and clean. Great staff. Small niggle, having to pay £15 for the dog but most hotels do this.
Friendly pub accommodation in great location.
Lovely friendly hotel with comfortable, nicely presented rooms. So convenient for the Dales and Lakes. Staff were so friendly and helpful with decent breakfast. Great dog friendly pub and would definitely stay again.
A lovely Inn, free parking. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated. A great breakfast and we had an evening meal also which was also really nice. I would highly recommend.
Stair/Lift
Everything was first class, the only drawback was it was upstairs and without a lift. We are well in our 80’s and found the stairs difficult.
Good stay
Room excellent. Service excellent. Evening meal adequate. Garden good. Plenty of parking.
The upstairs had been recently decorated and was of a high standard. Our room was very comfortable and had also had had an upgrade. Staff very kind and helpful. We would recommend The Wheatsheaf to our friends and family for somewhere to stay in this area.
Bedrooms have all been renovated to a high standard. Lots of lovely touches. Bag of treats for dogs. Staff are very friendly. Good Covid safety practices. Reasonable rates.
Great location, enjoyed an evening meal & breakfast, the room was clean, bed was comfy, great coffee/tea making facilities in room. The staff were friendly, the check in/check out process was easy. Only downside was the bathroom door didn’t close but that didn’t affect our stay at all. Would highly recommend
Nice comfy bed A shelf in the shower would have been handy for shampoo etc
Good accommodation, service and food. Only stayed for one night, wished we had stayed longer. Located in a great area to do things, would use again
Q
Friendly staff and very accommodating especially in the current climate.
Nice helpful staff, clean and refurbished room. Excellent breakfast and very well organized.
Recommended....enjoyed our stay
Friendly and professional checkin Lovely well appointed room, comfortable bed, nice peaceful nights sleep. Ensuite facilities...only negative was thatshower cubicle was a bit tight...but sufficiently that it stopped you showering. Booked in on half board basis....dinner incuded any two courses from the menu and was excellent, served by friendly staff Breakfast, which due to COVID restrictions was ordered the evening before was excellent. All in all a great stay and somewhere wewoud go back to if in the area. Would recommend
Lovely room. Clean and spacious. Pleasant staff. Ideal location
Lovely spaceous bedroom, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, wonderful rear beer garden with lots of tables. Food excellent value, quanity and quality, and like the beer very reasonable prices too. Highly recommend.
Great location
Nice and friendly staff clean room good food
Perfect stay
Our stay was amazing, room was very clean, big bed. Breakfast tasty, and the staff very friendly. And location just 5 min from Waterfalls.
Loved the hotel, quiet little village, great food and good price
Comfy and quiet room and Ingleton was very conveniently positioned for our return home from the Lakes.
Cheerful place to stay
Such a cheerful hotel to stay in, definitely going back
Great weekend away!
Fabulous weekend away at the Wheatsheaf. Staff were very friendly and to top it all very dog friendly, which is a major plus for us and our four legged friend. Breakfast was amazing. We had an evening meal one night and cannot fault the food. Very local to the waterfall, which is an absolute must. There is another pub within walking distance for another meal out, Craven Heifer which can also be recommended.
Decent pub stay, clean and comfortable.
Ideal location for where we needed to be. Could have done with an over bath shower in the four poster room though, a bit awkward with the hand held shower.
Brilliant location, staff and size of room. Downside room and ensuite need a refurb.
Great little place to stay
The wheatsheaf was prrfect for what we needed. The room was clean and the stay was great. We ate and drank there too an the staff were fab. Its only 5 min walk to the waterfall trial.
A good central position and comfortable stay. Evening meal and breakfast very good.
Great stay at the Wheatsheaf
We had a great stay at the Wheatsheaf. We had a large and comfortable room, with unlimited tea and coffee making facilities and good biscuits! The room was clean, as was the hotel. Over time, no doubt decorations will be renewed, when it's possible, but meantime we found the condition good. We ate twice in the bar from the restaurant menu and enjoyed everything we were given. Two cask ales were available, and the fire was warm. Breakfast was full Yorkshire (NB. yes the Wheatsheaf is in Yorkshire and a long way from Carnforth in Lancashire!) and very good. The black pudding was excellent. Alternatives were available as well. We and our dog were made to feel very welcome by the entire staff, and the service was excellent, and to us, perhaps even more importantly very friendly. The location is in the centre of Ingleton, who only Royal Mail seem to think is associated with Carnforth. We will go back I'm sure, both to Ingleton and to the Wheatsheaf.
Lovely stay
Lovely Pub in the heart of Ingleton, a great base for walkers and other visitors. Friendly staff very helpful and room was clean and nicely decorated. The pub food in evening was exalent as was the breackfast the following day. Would well recomend.
very friendly and great food
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was great, one of the best burgers I have had in a log time. The room was lovely and we could take the dog, plenty of room for us all. we were leaving early to do the 3 peaks so could not stop for breakfast but when we came back to our room in the evening there where 2 pack ups with porridge pots we could make before be left and muffins, yoghurts croissants and jam. Fabulous.
Nice!
Hotel is clean and comfy. The room is very nice with a good bed. Perfect as a base for walking!
Bathroom with free standing bath and very strange shower system, a stand outside the bath held the shower head which we had to hold over us, impossible to shower with unless we kneeled in the bath. This was very difficult especially as I have a back problem. Inside walls very thin, could hear everything being said in the next room.
Fantastic stay and great with the dog
Great stay. Room was clean and ideal for us. Food was amazing! Staff were friendly and great with the dog.
Nice pub with very nice rooms good food g
Only stayed 1 night but very nice pub in a pretty village. Room was big and comfortable, staff very nice and food very good. Breakfast was awesome
A warm welcome
As always a fantastic weekend in Ingleton. This is the first time we stayed at The Wheatsheaf although we made our decision after having a drink in there the last time we went and noting how friendly it was. We will definitely be back!
Ok on our way to daughters so just a stop over
Wheatsheaf
Our room had not been serviced. Bed clothes not changed were dirty, biscuit crumbs on bed side table and by television. Hairs in the shower. We waited 45 minutes plus to be allocated a different room as the manager was not available when we arrived. The next room we were given was a much better. Could not access the wifi connection.
Lovely Village Pub with welcoming attitude
From our first greeting and showing to our room, to our evening drinks and meal in the bar nothing was too much trouble. This was especially appreciated as one of us has mobility problems.
Fabulous place for walking
Lovely staff, comfortable rooms, excellent food we are planning another trip soon, we would highly recommend The Wheatsheaf.
Great breakfast bag.
We enjoyed a comfortable night's stay. We had a few quiet drinks in the bar and enjoyed the pub food (steak and ale pie and gammon steak). The room was a decent size and we slept well. It was mid-week and the village was very quiet. As we needed to leave early they provided a take-way breakfast bag for each of us which was absolutely brilliant. Many other, far more expensive hotels, could learn a lot from this simple but perfect gesture. If we are in the area again we would happily stay at the Wheatsheaf.
Friendly staff, clean and tidy and the food was nice. The only disappointment was that the matress was very hard
Hotel was good, nice food and welcoming staff. I would stay there again.
Friendly homely hotel exceeded my expectations.
Lovely hotel situated in a beautiful village. Perfect for a 2 night stay for visiting the Dales and The White Scar Caves
Okay good value for money
Only stopped one night as working nearby. Friendly staff, decent sized room although a tad tired. Bed wasn't the comfiest, if the mattress was as hard as the pillows and the pillows were as soft as the mattress it would have been fine
Nice country hotel, lovely shower, comfy bed and breakfast was lovely. We also had tea at the hotel which was reasonably priced and very tasty after a long walk around the waterfalls! Our room could have done with a paint touch up but otherwise good value for money!
One not to miss
Loved it. Stunning area, comfortable room. Lovely staff, giant breakfast. Will go back again
Good Value
The Wheatsheaf is well situated in the village centre. Staff are friendly and helpful. A limited menu but good food.
Yorkshire gem
good hotel in the village centre, parking on site.
Charming
Friendly staff, lovely local pub with old charm (beams, open fire), but also modern facilities sympathetically installed. Good parking, and easy access to the village and its amenities. Food was ok, a little disappointing tho.
Hotel good value, staff very friendly and helpful.
Bathroom needed updating but otherwise the hotel was acceptable. One vegetarian meal was awful the first night but the second was very good the following evening. Breakfast was excellent for veggies and meat eaters.
Lovely stay
No problems checking in. Lovely room - clean and quiet. Very homely. Breakfast was served between 8-9am and catered to your needs. Everything you need for staying in Ingleton.
Pleasand stay and good location.
The Wheatsheaf is a typical village pub offering en-suite rooms. Car parking adequate, room clean and comfortable. Full English breakfasts cooked to order and excellent. Bar and restaurant areas generally clean. Wi-fi did not work in bedroom. Located on a one-way street so a little frustrating to have to drive round the block whenever approaching from the Hawes direction.
Review
Hotel was good, pleasant staff. Room a bit pricey (£125)for the one night
Satisfaction.
The staff where very helpful and friendly, breakfast was good and so where the choices, hotel room was clean and comfy, the hotel is in a good location for exploring ingleton and the surrounding area.
pub stay in village
pub in village with two other pubs, very nice.
Lovely, friendly stay in Ingleton
Fab little pub in the village of Ingleton. Really friendly bar staff and manager, even though they were really busy as we arrived on New Years Eve. Arranged a table for our evening meal and the food was worth the money. Room was comfy and lovely and warm, had everything you needed. My only comment would have been that breakfast on New Years Day could have been extended as this was served only between 8-9am - a little early for the New Years celebrations but I do appreciate they cater for the hikers and walkers who want to be up and out early. Breakfast was cooked to order and was made of all local produce - great full english to start the day. Would highly recommend as the rate was very reasonable
Cosy stay with friendly staff
The rooms are named with the falls from the Waterfalls Trail which is really cute, we stayed in a twin room named Pecca Falls which face the beer garden (wake up with a great view!). Plenty of parking space, very friendly staff (Bar & Hotel staff), quite quiet overall but at times you can hear people talking or closing the door. Great choices of food - lovely vegetarian choices :) the dinning area cleanliness can be improved (glasses with lipsticks, sticky table, dirty knifes/forks ect), shower not very powerful, a little lack of space to put things in the bathroom. We enjoyed our stay :)
A friendly place to stay
Very enjoyable. Good food excellent service. Will definitely return for another holiday.
wish they told us about the dogs and dust.
Been to Yorkshire many times, decided to give this place a go. It was reasonably priced (not cheap and not too expensive). The website looked good and the place looked clean from the photo's. Unfortunately our room was very dusty and doggy. Annoyingly for me I am allergic to dogs and dust and I don't remember any mention of it on the website. The beds were comfortable and clean, but the room had obviously been done very quickly and was used to dogs staying. The bar welcomed dogs as well. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was pretty good, just unfortunate about the other things.
My only complaint is that the Wheatsheaf is not in Carnforth but a 25 minute drive away in Ingleton so it took a bit to find it.
The Weatsheaf -excellent food, standard accommodat
We arrived at The Wheatsheaf after booking a family room for the night. There was a mix up over paying extra for a travel cot which wasn't the best start, but was resolved fairly quickly by the manager. Our room was a fairly spacious ensuite, and provided everything we needed but was let down by a couple of things -a missing cupboard handle, a hole in the wall, no bathroom light and food in the drawers. We got unpacked and stuck the kettle on but had to share a cuppa as there was only 1 cup. We ventured down to the bar and were surprised to find it had a great menu with kids options for our 18 month old. The food was excellent as was the service. We had a comfortable night's sleep (just a shame it was 2 singles pushed together...) Overall a standard stay. We wouldnt be rushing back for accommodation again but we will definitely be back for the food.
overnight stay
room was fine for what we required, beds were comfortable shower room was clean breakfast was fresh cooked but even so given the amount of people in the dining area (3 tables plus ours)the service seemed a little slow we stayed in twin bedroom.Yes we would use again 0
Ñice hotel,excellent location
Excellant, fabulous sevice throughout.Staff very trendy, food fabulous and location spot on
Two nights stay touring by motorcycle.
Hotel in good location for getting about, with good selection of beers & pub grub. Rooms recently updated, quite roomy & comfortable.
Good base for a weekend of walking.

Ingleton stay
Overall a good stay, free parking. Great staff, friendly, helpful and informative. Nice cosy warm large room with all facilities you would expect and a few extras (biscuits, water) Includes breakfast which made costs reasonable. Restaurant was excellent, food high quality, again reasonable price.
