Lovely place, charming town square nearby with amazing dining options & a great bolanguerie right below the room!
Séjour parfait en tous points.
La chambre était magnifique et très grande. Amplement d'espace.
Lovely room in a great location just outside of the busy centre
Top city break
Spotless well maintained traditional building in the Chatrons area, easy walking from river and main old town.
Great spot in fun young area
Great stay in a large space with excellent adjoining French restaurant. Margeaux was an great host
Great room with lots of character. Very nice and accommodating staff and amazing location.
Very disappointing. The room is almost 1/2 mile from car drop off so you have to drag your suitcase over cobblestone sidewalk. The stairway is narrow and steep with no elevator so you have to drag your suitcase up the stairs. The toilet seat was broken. There was less than 1/2 roll of toilet paper and no additional - inexcusable. The toilet paper holder was broken. The Kleenex box became empty and was not replaced. The housekeeping was rude. "Don't expect clean towels every day" The room was hot and if you opened the window there were swarms of fleas and flies - gross The decor was eclectic and interesting. The mattress was circular on a platform bed and bounced when you sat down or got up. The coffee machine didn't work properly. The breakfast "cakes" were cheap processed stuff in plastic. The neighborhood was charming.
Bordeaux by the River
Beautiful room in Bordeaux close to the river. Some might find the stairs a bit difficult but definitely worth it. Also connected to an awesome restaurant next door.
Great stay
Our stay at Chez Dupont was lovely! The location was wonderful. Everything was comfortable and easy. We would definitely stay again. Very comfortable bed. The restaurant below was great!
Spectacular!
Great hotel with large unique rooms
Great hotel in a nice neighbourhood less than 15 min walk to the centre of town. Their restaurant served the best meal I had during our Bordeaux. Lot's of other restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood if you are feeling lazy and don't want to into the centre. Margot was very helpful, with recommendations and helped us organise wine tastings and tours. The rooms are all unique and very spacious.
The property was very comfortable and I thought the host was a great communicator and very sweet. I loved how close it was to everything.
Totally disappointed due to unbearable flour smell because the room is above a bakery. Go away there is no rest and sleep expected... Une énorme déception, impossible de dormir ni même d'apprécier la chambre du à l'odeur insupportable de farine et de cuisson la chambre étant située au dessus d'une boulangerie. Passez votre chemin...
Amazing stay! Highly recommend!
Not what we hoped for
There is no front desk, if we hadn't bought an international chip on our trip we couldn't have communicated with the host. The phone number given in the site is not working, we had to google and find it elsewhere. The bathroom was a mess, the shower was clogged.
Had a very enjoyable 4 night stay here. Lovely clean room in a characterful hotel located in a charming area close to shops, restaurants & cafes. The hotel owner Pierre Jean was always on hand if needed and arranged a wine tasting tour as well as our taxi to the station.
Superb unique room with stylish interior and comfy bed. Bathroom was a bit quirky but great shower, lots of coffee making bits, juice etc. Superb location in south of Chartrons for the excellent restaurants, bars etc
Great location. Great room. Great host very helpful
Bordeaux was delightful
Bookers should be aware that this is not a hotel. It is a one-bedroom apartment located up 3 full sets of winding stone steps. If you have any mobility issues you cannot stay here. Also, the apartment is in what is probably an attack space, so no traditional windows. It has skylights. There are no fire exits either. Your only access to the apartment is the 3 flights of stone steps. There would be no way to get out in a fire. That being said, the apartment was adorable. It was large and comfortable and clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. Your only access to management was Pierre, who would answer text messages and provide some help with questions about the city. The location was ideal. One block from the river in a very nice area of the city just beyond the main tourist areas. It was 10 minutes to a lovely park, 15 minutes to the tourist info center and a great wine bar, and 20 minutes to the older section of town.
This was a very cute and unique place. Very quiet, close to lots of cute shops and cafes as well as the train. Great neighborhood. Pierre helped us book some wine tours in St Emilion and Pomerol. Highly recommended!
Wonderful time in Bordeaux
Pierre was in communcation with me multiple times to assure that I had everything I needed upon my arrival as there is not a mgr on site Sat and Sun. He gave me multiple options to get to the hotel from the airport and arranged a wonderful wine tour with a pick up at the hotel. I arrived Sat afternoon and the waitstaff at the restaurant across the street were very helpful, directing me to the correct door and carrying my luggage to the 2nd floor. Pierre carried it down for me. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and had a large shower. It was perfect in every way and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Merci, Pierre
Great Stay In Bordeaux
Fantastic trip, hotel was spot on in a great location. Very helpful staff, helped with taxi trip to train station and restaurant recommendations. Usually we stay in large luxury chain hotels but have stayed in a few smaller accommodations/ boutiques in the past...that said would HIGHLY recommend this place.
This hotel was AMAZING. We stayed three nights in Sanchez room that overlooked the Eglise St. Loius des Chartons- what a beautiful sight! The room was huge and beautifully appointed. We had more than enough room to spread out. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was huge by European standards. We loved that the room was equipped with a Nespresso machine, water, and snacks. Each morning we would have espresso in the room before heading down to enjoy a croissant at La P'tite Boulangerie Notre Dame. This room is right above the bakery, so you basically smell bread all the time- YUM! For a total locals scene it is well worth going to grab a glass of wine in the square near that Halles des Chartron and to grab dinner at Chez Dupont. That restaurant is absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I would without hesitation recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Bordeaux. Honestly, I doubt there could be a better hotel!
Very large room with tall ceilings and windows, clean and welcoming in a central location, walking distance to major attractions ( 15 minutes flat easy walk). Great restaurant across the street( same owner)
The room was lovely. The host was helpful, but, we had to seek her out. A bit of a mystery when we arrived. If booking, be aware of steep steps to rooms. We had heavy bags and were on the third floor-an unpleasant surprise.
Perfect
A beautiful place to stay, in an idyllic part of Bordeaux. The room was so well kept, airy, comfortable, with everything that you need for a cosy stay. The bakery underneath the building we stayed in was so delicious, as was the Brasserie that is part of the accomodation across the road. The team were lovely, super helpful, and you could spend hours enjoying the local area before taking a short walk into the city of Bordeaux. Will definitely be staying here again next time we visit.
All staff is responsive well and the property is clean and nice. I would recommend to new visitors.
Stylish, clean and great location! We stayed in room "Ferbos" on the 1st floor and situated above the bakery. We loved waking up to the smell of freshly baked pastries and bread in the morning. The almond croissant was phenomenal, had one every day during our stay! The room was well decorated, clean, spacious and comfortable! Location was great! Plenty of cafes and restaurants a few minutes away and plenty of local boutique stores for shopping. Easy access to 2 tram stops. Chatrons area is great with all of the above but still peaceful and away from the more touristy historic centre. Definitely recommend staying here!
Great room in a lovely location. Everyone was very welcoming and the food at the restaurant Chez Dupont is delicious.
Great pick.
Great service. Great atmosphere. Great room.
Charming room in a great location, 1 block off of the busy riverfront on a picturesque, quiet little street with nearby access to a neighborhood square full of cafes, restaurants, and shops. Walking distance to the river esplanade and city center. Pierre Jean, the personable manager, was most helpful in suggesting restaurants and destinations. Our room was spacious, furnished artistically, and had a very nice, updated bathroom. Our room was above the local boulangerie, and the wonderful baking odors started early. We would go back!
Thank you very much for accommodating us, firstly with an early arrival and for keeping our luggage after we have checked out. Our room was just amazing and the central location made getting around Bordeaux so much easier. Thank you again for making our holiday in your beautiful city so much nicer.
Stay at Chez
It was an amazing stay. It is very boutique 2 rooms to a floor up a curving staircase. We stayed in the room Sanchez. The round bed was so comfy and big. Very spacious. Great area within 15 minutes walking distance to all the sights. Jean Pierre was extremely helpful in check in, communication, and many local tips. The wine tasting he set up for us at Chateau Gaudet in Saint Emilion was unforgettable. Would stay there again without question. You won’t be disappointed. And their restaurant is wonderful.
Lovely Chez Dupont
We had a wonderful stay at Chez DuPont! Our room was spacious and decorated lovely! Pierre-Jean was a great host! I will stay there again next time!!
I stayed in Samilde on the top floor which is lovely and nicely decorated. My 4 star rating is because you are renting a room—-there is no ‘hotel service’. No one is on the premises and if you have needs or questions you must call. No one to help you carry your bags up or down 4 flights of spiraling stairs. And the cleaning of the room was so minimal...they only pulled the covers on my sheets. And it is a 20 min walk from everything. For this price it seems to me you can get something closer to town and with services. Nothing wrong w this place...just know what you are getting. You will awake to 6 am bread baking which is heavenly...and just down below.
Great area for culture and restaurants
Owner extremely accommodating and helpful. A lovely break in Bordeaux Will visit again
Nice room and clean. Expensive for this area away from the centre.
An excellent place to stay in Bordeaux
Excellent fun decorated room, well located with an exceptionally friendly and helpful manager Pierre!
Excellent room and stay
Excellent room in a superb location. Room is spacious and done to a really high standard and is one of 4 rooms within the building. There is a superb craft beer 'hall' 50 yards away with places for breakfast and of course the owners own bistro. This will be the place i come to should i return to Bordeaux.
A hidden gem
We loved this place. Across the street from the Eglise Notre Dame and the Marche Chartron sits this little hotel. Very individual and quirky - suited us perfectly. The boulangerie and L’épicerie fine were directly below and perfect for a take away breakfast. Lovely restaurants and markets in the Marche Chartron. Within walking distance of the Centre Ville, but the Tram is just on the other side of the Marche so easy to get that if you don’t fancy the walk. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be back.
Delighted with accommodation, central location to enjoy Bordeaux. Facilities were excellent. Would highly recommend and hope to return. Pierre was charming, and very helpful.
Room was great, fancily decorated, though impractically lighten. Neighbourhood is nice, walkable and connected. Host takes time to answer messages, which can be a serious inconvenient when already travelling.
Not as expected.
Communication was great, location perfect. The Sanchez room is on the first floor. We were informed that on day two of our stay the toilet seat would be replaced as it was broken, not ideal but it did get replaced. The shower drained really slowly which we asked to be repaired at the same time. The room is of fair size but its in desperate need of a good clean. Cobwebs are hanging from the ceiling, extractor filters thick with thick dust. The bed is round, it’s terrible, it tips from one side to the other and very uncomfortable. The room is above/side of a bakery, they start work early and you hear all the noise and the baking smells fill the room. This didn’t bother us but would some. Overall the room requires some love.
