The thermometer in my room was terrible. My room was so hot that I couldn’t sleep. I called the front desk and they told me to call back in the morning. Terrible service. By the morning, I would have checked out and it wouldn’t have made a difference.
We really enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed dinner in the bar and great service.
Love the amenities. Both Bloom and Ash Bar are amazing.
A Hotel with Personality
If you like a hotel that has a clear aesthetic that it commits to, friendly staff, and a great old-school bar, you will love this place. The decor has a really fun, kitschy-but-elegant midcentury aesthetic with a Greek theme, and the onsite bar has excellent martinis and charcuterie. All the staff were very friendly as well
Kayla was amazing. She made us feel like we were home every time we returned to the property. This hotel is a gem in Baltimore. From the atmosphere, to the staff, we couldn’t be happier with our stay.
The room was not ready! Till 8pm!
Safe easy walk to the lyric.
Long Weekend Stay - 3 nights
First, I want to commend the property for all the work they have done to renovate and modernize an old building. All the common areas have been very tastefully decorated and the attention to detail was evident in the flooring, the elevators, the scent throughout the lobby area. The bar was cozy and inviting. The room we stayed in was very small and only had a double bed, which is fine for the price value. It also was decorated nicely (both the bedding and the bathroom). Service was another issue. Upon our arrival, the electrical outlet in the bathroom was not working and there were two lightbulbs out in the light fixture above the sink. The electrical outlet was eventually fixed after 2 requests, but the lightbulbs were never replaced. The thermostat in the room was on some sort of master system that could not be bypassed. I would set the AC high (to 78 because I do not like it cold) and by morning it would reset to 68. This happened every day. I went to the bar all three mornings to get coffee. First morning was fine. Second and third mornings there were no 12 oz coffee cups or Oat Milk. Finally, I booked my stay through Hotels.com and the hotel did not honor the price I was quoted on Hotels.com. It took me almost a week of back and forth to get it resolved and even then, I did not get a cash refund, but OneKey cash credit with Hotels.com. I visit Baltimore frequently as my daughter is in law school there and I will not be staying at this property again.
Baltimore Cool
I had heard a lot about the Ulysses and wanted to like it a lot. I was disappointed. Rooms are small; service in the Ash Room at breakfast is terrible. I would not stay there again.
Instant brand loyalty
I will never forget the incredible smell of this place. I wish I had brought their products/candles home. Kayla was an amazing host. I’m staying here every trip to BWI from now on.
Weekend staycation.
I live locally but decided to do a staycation for my boyfriend's birthday. Stayed 2 nights from Friday to Sunday. Check-in was easy and Kayla was great. She shared information about happy hour and other events that were happening that evening. The decor and overall vibes of the hotel are nice. The rooms were smaller than I anticipated, but very clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. My only complaint about the room was the water pressure in the shower was low. Blooms was a nice place to grab a drink before and after dinner. I was provided 2 complimentary drink tickets. The drinks were well balanced and tasted great. Would definitely come again.
All good
Staff was nice. Pipes were very noisy and loud when people were using water. No parking except in an alley a block away and cost 17.00 dollars. Didn’t feel safe walking to hotel at night because there were bars.
Fantastic stay can’t wait to go back
Decided to get a room with a friend because we were going to a concert and wanted to not worry about driving home to DC/VA. What an absolute treasure we found! The decor was amazing. Before even getting to my room I had my camera out to show my boyfriend. The room wasn’t particularly large but it had a couch, king canopy bed, night tables, an armoire and leopard print carpet. If you are looking to sit at a desk and get work done this room would not have been for you. If you’re looking to feel like you’ve stepped into history but more whimsical definitely stay here. The bathroom was so cool. If you like doing your work where the people are there were ample places to sit at either of the two bars they have. There is a bar/drinks only bar to the right of the entrance that was just stunning. I got 2 drinks and while I wish the first one had mentioned that it had Midori in it (because I would have gotten something else) it was at least well balanced. The second drink was a classic and the bartender did a great job. The other side of the building has a bar/lounge which serves food and drinks. Regrettably I only got the olives, which as expected were delicious. The food I saw being served both looked and smelled good. We stayed on a Friday and could hear people in the streets at night but it wasn’t really an issue, unless you’re really noise sensitive. In the morning we walked around and had a great time. 10/10 staying here again. Bringing my best friend and also my boyfriend.
Ok
Front desk was always available and courteous, complementary water and a free drink as an Expedia member was nice. This hotel is right in the middle of the rich history of Baltimore.
.
Comfortable clean beds, great atmosphere, lots of ambient lighting- shabby chic
Charming hotel and great location
I wanted to really like this hotel. It’s charming in a historic building. My room was small, but adequate. I appreciated the space-saving details like a freestanding “closet” created using some rods and fabric. Furnishings and decor were unique and tasteful. Cons: stairs outside and inside the hotel are not “luggage-friendly”; I chose to make two trips to load my rental car. Also, it was not made clear that morning pastries and coffee were not complimentary. The woman who checked me in was not very informative. I arrived at 9 PM on Friday and the restaurant kitchen was closing. The bar was open but not serving food. I would stay at the Ulysses again, but I will feel more prepared the second time.
All good
Very nice explicit professional staff
Excellent location.Staff was friendly and accomodating. Interesting furniture all around and in the rooms. I would have liked to have had a phone, a clock, a fridge and a safe in the room.
The Ulysses was a wonderful place to stay, with a great location. Easy walk to many historic landmarks in Mt. Vernon, and walkable to the harbor/Fell’s point if you are okay with a longer trek! We enjoyed the unique and quirky atmosphere of the hotel, clean room and lobby, and welcoming staff. There were many great dining options in walking distance, and the train station was only a few blocks away, making it convenient to take a quick day trip to DC! Would certainly stay again and recommend to friends or family visiting the area.
Great attention to detail, staff at front desk are very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel was a good price and it definitely has a chill/retro vibe. I loved my stay and glad I chose this hotel!!
Property was adorable. Kayla, and the rest of the staff were super helpful and fun. Parking is convenient, less than a block away. Only one request, which would be a little fridge in the room to store leftovers, besides that, this place is definitely worth staying at!!
Incredible design. Gorgeous view. Most comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast. The shower products made me feel like a million bucks. Can I live here?
What an absolute delight. A romantic getaway. Staff was perfect! Vibe was chill. Room was sexy and deco was spot on. Two bars on site but delicious cocktails. Breakfast was available and scrumptious. Great location with various options for dining and coffee shops.
This was such a disappointment. My room was a shoebox with a large shower. The street noise was loud and the room was too hot. The windows didn't open and the staff, with the exception of Katia, couldn't be bothered to help in anyway. I paid for two nights, but only stayed one. The bar and restuarant were really nice though.
This is a unique hotel, the vibe is great! The bars were cool, the staff was great! The rooms are not a traditional but I was comfortable enough. I would recommend
The halls and elevator are not heated which was weird and with it being winter, uncomfortable.
The receptionists Kayla (i hope i got her name right) she was the best.... she went out her way to make sure i was accommodated... room is small but workable... and yes no fridge or microwave but fill up the ice bucket and put drinks in there to keep cool.. as far as reheating food all you have to do is go downstairs to the desk and ask... i will be back soon

Lovely stay with lovely staff - will return for sure!
My partner and I had a great time spending the nights here. The staff is very welcoming. Stopped by at the Ash-Bar and got a ham and cheese croissant. That was delicious, I needed that. Thank you :-) Would stay at this hotel again if we were around.
Loved my stay here!
The room was nice and cozy! O loved that I was able to control my temperature in my own room. The vibe and aesthetic of the hotel is fun and eclectic. Loved their drink menu at the Ash Bar and enjoyed the food at their venue called Swann House.
Very clean room
Worst first, everyplace was dark there including the rooms and bathrooms making it hard to get ready, no coffee maker, no little fridge and no iron. Now good, everyone was nice, food was good, room and bathroom were very clean and king sized bed was extra comfortable
Absolutely love The Ulysses Hotel. This was my second time staying here and this time was a lot better than the first. I came for a weekend staycation, alone and this is the perfect place to find peace and be able to zen. Everything was perfect. If there was anything that I would change, it would be either no longer calling the Ash Bar a restaurant or and more food options to the menu. Otherwise, it was perfection.
This is a cool and unusual hotel. If you have mobility issues...maybe this is not the hotel for you as the entrance steps are steep and there is a set outside and another inside to get to the front desk. This hotel is dark and moody and medieval in decor. It might not be for everyone but it was so quirky and different that we loved it. Our room had a canopy bed and we felt like princess and queen! The bed matress and covererings were extrememly comfortable and my daughter and I got a great night sleep. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was tiled in a bold pattern - all very different than the usual decor you find in hotels! The area is completely walkable and there are several really good independent restaurants (no chains except a Starbucks that I saw). The historic monuments are right near the free museum, the Walter, and we enjoyed walking the streets and seeing the beautiful churches and buidlings along the way. The only slightly dissappointing thing would be that the restaurant onsite did not have breakfast until 9 a.m. for cooked breakfast although they did have pastries and coffee for purchase when we checked it out around 8 a.m. This was hard for my gluten free daughter so we left and found a great breakfast at the Dashery at the Rival hotel - a short walk away. This hotel is a quick Uber/Taxi away from the train station and also the Inner Harbor area. It is also about 15 min drive from the college area of Loyola, JohnsHopkins and Notre Dame.
Loved the uniqueness of this place, incredibly friendly staff, will be staying here again!
Attention to detail. Fabulous interesting rooms.
It was lovely and location is great. Regarding staff/service, it was a hit and miss. Most were lovely but some were dismissive and condescending. I found that quiet surprising since most hotels have excellent staff.
Nice hotel but poor service
My husband and I like to do staycations occasionally. We live in Baltimore, so we knew the neighborhood of the Ulysses would be great for dining out and very walkable to a show at the BSO. That did not disappoint. The hotel itself is very small and quaint, but nice. Unfortunately, the service was very subpar. On check in, we were only given one drink voucher rather than two as advertised. I did not question it because I doubted my own memory, but on looking back at my booking I see that it should have been two. But that of course was moot because the hotel has three bars but when we tried to visit the bars after the show at the BSO, one was closed and the other two were packed so full that we were not even offered standing room at the bar. So the one voucher we had went unused. We went out for breakfast before check out the next morning and returned to find our key cards had been disabled (both). At the desk they were rude and said they did not turn them off but we must have had them next to a phone. Not true because both were disabled and mine had been in my pocket while my phone was in my purse. Just apologize and reactivate them. As I said, we do these staycations regularly but likely won't be returning to the Ulysses.
Truly unique hotel, incredible staff.
This is a lovely boutique hotel that we enjoy everytime when we're in Baltimore. I highly recommend this place. The people are lovely and the whole hotel is authentic, welcoming, cool, and special.
Real nice hotel. Fun place to stay. Staff were very attentive
Another fantastic stay. Comfy beds, great staff. My go to in Baltimore
Bloom Tuesday night Jazz!
No phone or hair dryer in the room. The only way to reach anyone is to text and they took 15 mins to get back to you.
Unique experience. Bars were on point. Atmosphere was perfect. Would LOVE a coffee machine in the room.
What a creative, imaginatively decorated place to stay, with welcoming, helpful staff!
Second time staying here and look forward to staying here again.
What a cool hotel, we will definitely stay again. Dramatic and moody in the best of ways. We loved our room with it's funky style, and look forward to trying another room next time - they are all different! We loved the bar and brunch food too. VERY friendly staff.
Sexy and Funy Vibes
We were attending a wedding in the venue next door. The experiece was fantastic. Greeted with a welcoming professional staff. The please was very funky and cool. Loved the decor and how friendly the whole staff was. location was great, easy accessable parking.
Staff was very helpful and the room was great
Love it! Come
I love this hotel! So unique and cool.
Charming historic hotel. Friendly and attentive staff. Really cool bars. I would recommend.
Baltimore goes Boutique
Very unique and well designed hotel. Our room was cozy and very nicely decorated. A perfect boutique hotel experience.
Parking was a bit farther away than expected. The hotel itself is beautiful.
Ulysses did their Thing.
It’s a must to stay here. This hotel is absolutely amazing. It was so cozy during our trip here to Baltimore (Inner Harbor) and while the snow did dampen things a bit, the hotel offered top notch excellent service. Every single person working there was friendly and welcoming. Their bar, the Ash Bar was great and their food was good. Drinks were great as well. And for the price, you can’t go wrong. Most things were either within walking distance or a short bus ride away. Inside the hotel is also beautifully done, lots of character. We will definitely be back!
The staff was very helpful, we had a very late check in and they were very accommodating.
Hotel has a cool vibe Friendly and helpful staff
Chic hotel in a great location
We had a great time at the Ulysses. It’s in a great location with lots of food options and very easy to get anywhere we needed to go. We had a car and parked on the street and never had a problem. Very nice boutique hotel.
Very antique looking hotel, very dimly lit but I think that is part of the antique feel of the place. Very clean facilities and room, staff were incredibly friendly. Hotel bar is very different, old timey but very very cool! Looks just like the pictures!
Even they are famous with the smell it’s too heavy, nice area to stay rooms are extremely small front lady is so nice and kind very helpful bar staff is awful. Very clean and comfortable bed. There is no fridge or microwave in the room I guess they did not want to kill the vibe but it’s needy. At least little fridge
Gorgeous hotel with excellent atmosphere, attentive staff and comfy facilities. I wish I could stay longer
Nice room with view
The room was nice but small.
Good stay
It was a really nice place to stay, I would definitely recommend it!
Great location, interesting place to stay
Great location. Interesting decor. The shower was huge. The bathroom was the focal point of the room. It was almost as large as the bedroom area. Everything was comfortable.
Loved it
Cutest hotel with awesome bars and friendly staff.
Quirky Baltimore at its Best
This is a wonderfully quirky hotel. The decor is all over the place in a way that is truly enjoyable (if a little confusing). It’s a really nice taste of the charm of Charm City! It was clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Service was also friendly and helpful all around. The WiFi was great. I did an hour and a half on Zoom while my husband was also online, and we had no problem. Cocktails at Bloom and pastries and proper espresso drinks at the Ash Bar were on point. They are both a little overwhelming and delightful in their over-the-top decor - reminiscent of The Shining (sans ghosts) or being inside a jewel box. The neighborhood is one of the most fun in Bmore. We ate at one of the many restaurants within a few blocks and then continued on to a concert at the Lyric Opera House just a couple of blocks farther. Call the front desk to get a parking recommendation for about $17 for 24h. It’s very close
Great location. Very service and staff.
This hotel was like stepping back in time like, but modernized where it counts. I felt like I was in a movie from old days. Comfy bed, good shower, views, all good.
I absolutely loved the design of the Ulysses. The staff were all adorable and helpful. The place smelled amazing. And it was an affordable place to sleep in a fantastic area! I would go back for sure.
Incredibly charming and nice property. My room had a great view of downtown Mount Vernon and it was really cool being able to see The Washington Monument lit up without even leaving my room. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
Parking is a bit of a challenge Service in the Ash bar slow.
Very distinctive and immersive decor. Very nice staff. Note: no car parking here.
It is unique, not your cookie cutter hotel. Embraces the whimsy of its age and character within the rooms and decor. Front desk staff super nice and engaging. Good value.
Staff was awesome! Room was great!
Great staff. Very friendly. Bed was super comfortable
Funky, euro-feeling hotel. What the room lacked in space, it made up for in charm.
Staff was accommodating and went out of the way to help. The bed is so comfortable and I Will definitely be back.
The room we stayed in had a blue color scheme which was very nice. Every staff member was exceptional. The bed was not the most comfortable but fine for one nights stay. Water pressure for the sink was none existent, again fine for one night. The hotel itself was so unique and fun. Would definitely stay again for a short stay.
Best hotel I ever stayed at
Super friendly staff, everyone was delightful, and the whole place was immaculate clean. They also have the best salmon I ever had so check out ash bar and get you some. Seriously everyone was great and it was a wonderful stay. They even had a couple of events the first two nights I was there.
Love this hotel. Very nice atmosphere quite walkable to dining but a plus with on site dining and things to do.
Quirky and fun hotel with three cool bars and lovely staff. In a great area for architecture
It was very convenient to the stadium (there for the ravens vs eagles game). Friendly staff.
The property amazing. The decor and ambiance was unique. The friendliness of the staff was great throughout the property. We will definitely visit again!
Hidden gem
Hotel Ulysses is a little different. A little odd. A little old-fashioned. All in a very good way. I won't try to describe the decor except to say it is charming. We only had brunch in the restaurant but it was delicious and the setting is elegant. Staff was super courteous and helpful start to finish. Not sure what "star" rating this hotel is but our experience was five-stars!
Super cute hotel with great lobby bars!
KInd and helpful staff. Thank you.
I was very pleased with my room and the property. No parking in the area can be challenging.
Nothing
Funky little boutique hotel in a great location. Very friendly staff and great decor. Just lovely overall. The Ash Bar was great. The service at Blooms was a little slow but the atmosphere was great.
Amazing aesthetic, great service
No room fridge. No phone in the room. No iron / board.
Cute and unique environment! The staff was very friendly and helpful!
Overall standard hotel average amenities. Rooms very dark. Poorly lit throughout the building.
so uniquely decorated, friendly and attentive service, cute vibes, super comfy bed

interesting
It's an interesting property. The decor is lively and unique. Some amenities are missing: no room safe, only way to get ice, that we could find was to go down to the bar. There doesn't seem to be any way to contact the front desk without going down there. But, almost a ll the staff were genuinely helpful, polite & knowledgeable. They went out of their way to be accommodating.
