The room very nice n clean. Host Mr Ahmet very wellcoming. He arrange taxi, 2 ways to airport Istanbul. The place nearest hagia sophia n mosque blue. But the area price for food bit expensive but ok for me. Highly recommended this place.

Lovely family run property run by a lovely family. The comfort twin room was very comfortable, the view from the breakfast room was fabulous and it was very conveniently located right in the heart of the old city.

We small rooms, couldn't even use the tiny wash basin in the bathroom due to an empty medicine cabinet just above it. Very rude owner, my wife asked him to see the place before we move in our luggage, and he threatened to call the police if we don't pay the full amount in cash. We stayed there because it was nonrefundable fees and just a short 2 days stay.

Das Hotel war zentral gelegen , ich konnte alles fußläufig erreichen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Der Transfer hat super funktioniert. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen , so liebe Menschen die einem sehr gut helfen. Bin sehr dankbar für die schöne Erfahrung.

The positive thing was the man who greeted me first, that’s it. The woman who runs the place is absolutely unfriendly and unpleasant. I paid almost 20$ to was 2 kilos of clothes and they were smelly because they half dried it. Her answer was that it was my smell and she offered 1$ discount which is a joke. The room is so small that the bathroom door cannot even close. That neighborhood is full of tourist traps and has zero authenticity.

Sweet place near Aya Sophia

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Tulip Guesthouse. Not only was my room exactly what was advertised, but the hosts, Esin and Ahmed, were very kind and went out of their way to be helpful. The property is close to restaurants, shopping, monuments, and the sea. It couldn't be any better, and I would definitely recommend it!

Very Satisfied

I stayed for four nights and was very satisfied with my stay. The room was small but very clean. The hosts were super friendly and helpful and answered every question I had. The location couldn’t have been better, literally 5 minute walk from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque and a street over from stores and restaurants. I would stay again and can recommend this property to any solo tourist or couples who wants a cheap and clean place to stay close to the attractions.

Service was outstanding. Everything was excellent for this price range, especially in this area. :))

Wonderful location, just steps from the main tourist historical attractions and restaurants. Very helpfull owners and we enjoyed Istanbul and our little hotel.

Ahmet and Ahset were amazing hosts! Very accommodating and made the stay great with their hospitality. Area is very close to historical sites, the sea and lots of dining options nearby as well. Would recommend

Un hotel pequeño, acogedor y familiar, muy limpio, estuvimos una semana y su ubicación es perfecta para caminar a algunas de las principales atracciones turísticas, además, a 5 minutos se puede tomar el tram y a unos 15 minutos también se puede llegar al Metro o el ferri para cruzar a la parte asiática. El staff fue súper amable en todo momento, nos dieron excelentes tips y ayudaban en todo lo que podían.

Everything was very clean and the mattress was comfortable and clean as well. In short words, the value of money is very good.

Very nice and quiet area with many restaurants nearby. Walking distance to places such as Hagia Sofia, Sultanahmet Camii and Topkapi Palace. Nice, clean rooms and the staff were very helpful when we arrived.

Clean, comfortable and friendly guest house

Tulip House was my first place to stay in my 3 month trip to Turkey. They set the standard high for the rest of my trip to compare to. My room was extremely clean, bedding comfortable, and had great WiFi. The shower had good flow and the water became warm within a minute or less. The breakfasts were tasty traditional Turkish cuisine and served with care and consideration. All questions were thoughtfully answered in a timely manner. Great suggestions for restaurants and activities were offered. This family run business is a great location with a wonderful friendly atmosphere. There are stairs, it is an old property. But the handrails are sturdy and throughout. The view from the breakfast room terrace is stunning. Take your earplugs as many guests do check in or return from activities later in the evening and are not always the quietest. This is a comfortable, clean, simple property where I would definitely stay again.

Hello . I had a terrible problem in this hostel . My friend came to my hotel to give something I wanted from him , and we decided to set for 15 min the go out . I opened the door for my friend to come inside , the person who should be 24 hours awake on reception , just woked up from her room , and started to shout on me and my friend for no reason , and I was very polite with her abd I told her that my friend brought something to me and we will set 15 min , she was very rude in her speech and she told me I will call police , I dont know why but she said this . After that she started talking that she worked in five star hotels and normal hotels and no one can enter hotel or be a guest without paying , I said : so you want money ? Thats the problem ? She got confused and she started her racism And she told me your turkish language is so weak dont talk like that . I ended the conversation then I took my friend and we went outside . Next day check out pretend to be on 10:30 , The manager knock the door on me at 11 o’clock and he told me that I have to prepare for check out , I said ok then I started preparing my bag , he started screaming and he told that lady that If any foreigner come to hotel to tell her . It was a very bad experience . Despite of this my fees was 50 dolar , It was almost 823 tl , I gived her 820 tl because I didnt have 3 tl , she told me no you cant enter your room without paying this 3 tl !!!! Please I reached what happened with me to you because I trust you

Cute and wonderful Tulip Guesthouse 🇹🇷❤️

Tulip is a great place to stay. It's 5 minutes walk from Ayasofya. The owners are wonderful people - so helpful, supportive and very kind. They speak really good English too. Room is small and very comfortable. I had my own, private bathroom, however it was not in the room, it was in a separate part of the guest house, but this was not a problem. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

The cleanest hotel ever

Our stay was great. The hosts are super friendly and easy going. Even though the rooms are not big, they are very cozy and, like I mentioned in the title, super clean. Me and my girlfriend have been to a lot of hotels, not only in Istanbul but all over Turkey. This gotta be the cleanest we have ever seen. The building seemed old, but we couldn't find any sign of depreciation. It was incredible.

I am a returning guest to this nice guesthouse. I stayed three different times here. I like the staff who are friendly and caring and help with any request. The rooms are not very big but they are clean and tidy and beds are comfortable with good fresh linen. Breakfasts served on the top floor with a sea veiw are my favourire. All world famous atttacions are 5 minutes walk and there is a tram stop to start travel to any remote place. Grateful for my comfortable stay!

A returning guest

I am a returning guest. I loved my first stay a lot and that is why i booked the guesthouse for my second visit to istanbul as well. The hotel is clean and quiet and very welcoming. A very pleasant bonus is breakfast with a beautiful sea view. Location in the heart of historical area is a big advantage too. A couple of minutes walk to all famous landmarks and local restaurants and mini shops.

Home away from home

The Tulip guest house was a really cute little place. It was clean and tidy and felt homely. The family that run the place were all really friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy having people stay with them. Next time I go to Istanbul I will stay here again for sure.

Small clean house

There wasn't tissue in the toilet, i think it was not at their service. The room was small and cold, but the host gave us the air condition control. The house and the host were very clean. The location was grat. The breakfast was very good.

Overall it was good, but the room was very small, private bathroom was far from home and TV was not available.

Tulip guesthouse review

Tulip guesthouse is a small place but it is worth every penny. It is a family run business and the family who run the business are very kind and trustworthy. The location is very convenient and is close to most of the major tourist attractions. Will stay there again for future trups to Istanbul. The place is clean and well kept. never felt like I was in danger no matter what time you come back.

You get what you pay for..but good value

Checking in was quick, although its wierd that this hotel does not accept any form of car payments, so I had to withdraw cash and pay later, and that is not good for me (but good only for them) because the exchange rate fluctuates everyday and since I was unable to pay that moment, the rate has good up a bit by the time I was able to withdraw Turkish Liras. Its not a lot, but definitely inconvenient. There is also no elevator. I am physically fit so it doesn't bother me, but what bout senior citizens? I hope they have some service provided to these people. On the good side, they allowed me keep my luggage for free as I go around the city while waiting for my flight. Likewise, the location is superb, just a few blocks from the main Sultanahmet Square with lots of good places to eat. Breakfast is typical Turkish basics and I don't mind. I would definitely check in this hotel again when I return to Istanbul.

Overall nice

Reception was helpfull and friendly. Room very clean and most important bathroom alwys clean. They even clean it when i went out in the morning. Nice place jst behind Arista Bazar and Blue Mosque. Near all main historical building. The service provided is exceeding my expectation for a guesthouse. It is better than a stars hotel in the same area.

WONDERFUL BREAKFAST!!!

the room is definitely "budget" size and quality, but perfectly clean! and the bed was comfortable. but the breakfast was the highlight and is not to be missed! you will not be disappointed unless you expect a heavy American style breakfast. for us it was it was absolutely perfect. so simply but perfectly prepared and everything just worked together so wonderfully. our host told us that it is a typical Turkish family breakfast.

Friendly guest-house in excellent location

Welcoming and helpful staff, spotlessly clean room and good choice for breakfast - all for a very reasonable rate. The location is excellent with a street of eating places in one direction & the entrance to Topkapi Palace and Aghia Sophia in another. The Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Basilica cistern are also close at hand.

Nice people, good place!

Nice stay at Tulip. The family who runs the place are very kind, helpful people. The place is sparkling clean and the breakfast has great variety and comes with a view. The only downside here is that we found our double room very small. But I think it was just our room. Great place though!

Staying at Tulip Guesthouse was like staying at a family vacation house. It was very comfortable and homey. The owners Esin and Ahmed welcomed us with very warm accommodation. They're very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean, organized and peaceful although it was right at the heart of Sultanahmet which is the perfect area when staying in istanbul. It was close to everything especially to the main tourists destinations. They offered great breakfast with many options. Thank you so much Tulip Guesthouse and God bless you everyday. :D

Good for the money

The room was a bit too small and so was the breakfast area. What I totally appreciated, though, was the attitude of the staff. I got in at about 2:30 a.m. and the guy at the reception was really welcoming and sweet. When I missed a phone call later that day he actually called the person back so I could speak with him. The manager was also a darling and very helpful.

The small hotel is in a very quite street but is close to most tourist area. The stuff is very helpful, room is very clean. The facility is a little old.

Wonderful Stay at Tulip Guesthouse

Esim and her Mom were the perfect hosts. Esim gave us directions and recommendations on where to go and what to see and eat and all were wonderful. A fish sandwich under the bridge! Our first Turkish Bath experience, she advised the Bath House to go soft on my husband! The Guesthouse was warm and welcoming and very conveniently located to see all the sights. Breakfasts were very good with Esim's Mom making us a perfect Apple Tea!

Very friendly little guesthouse

The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and always eager to assist with any questions. They were always smiling and very polite, just very nice people. The location was perfect for seeing all the sights in Sultanahmet. The location was just off of a main strip of restaurants and bars, but was separated from all the street noise. The breakfast was not great, but enough to start your day.

Great experience

In the heart of Sultanahmet, this budget hotel is all you need to explore Istanbul due to its great location. Breakfast is served in a room with a sea view and is super fresh! The guys at the hotel were also super nice and helpful. Rooms were small but being Istanbul the great city it is, you won't be in the hotel much! You just need a comfy bed, which you will find in Tulip!

Close to all major sites - FANTASTIC

Fantastic place to stay, and incredible hospitality by the owners. Only 9 rooms and ideally located. Very clean, comfortable, and an amazing breakfast. Highly recommend this location.

Perfect location

Tulip Guesthouse is exactly where you want to be when visiting Istanbul. It's within walking distance of all the major attractions, and five minutes from the tram if you need to go anywhere else. Esin, the manager, went out of her way to help us and arrange many aspects of our trip including a day trip to Troy, and a Turkish bath.

Tulip Guesthouse was a really convenient and nice place to stay in Istanbul. The staff was really friendly and helpful. They help us to book a taxi with no extra cost for our morning flight. The guesthouse is close to many restaurant and main attractions in Istanbul. We had a short but great time.

Nice hotel close to the main Istanbul sightseeing

Hotel is situated in a small quiet street, just a few steps away from a lively and busy street full of small restaurants, shops and hotels. It is 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the Sultanahmet tram station and even closer to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. Hotel is very small, in a narrow two story house that may have been a family house before. Stairway is winding, and rather narrow and steep, but there are only two floors to climb, so it is not that bad, after all. Still, might be a bit too difficult for an older person. Rooms are small, but fully functional (with enough storage room, but narrow room between furniture). Everything is clean and well maintained. There is an air-conditioner for those hot days and nights. Staff are very kind and eager to help with anything that you need, from information about public transportation to suggesting the best hamam and organizing to pick you up and drive you back. Breakfast is served in a kitchen at the second floor with large windows overlooking the Bosphorus and the Asian part of Istanbul. While they do not provide other meals, there is an electric kettle, instant coffee and tea available until 10PM.

Oasis in the Tourist Desert

Esin bent over backwards to accommodate our needs and make our stay comfortable. She researched ferry schedules and helped us plan a complicated transfer. She directed us to a traditional restaurant that charged normal, not tourist, prices and in every way made us feel at home. She even made sure that we got some breakfast to eat even though we had to depart before regular hours. Would stay again in a minute.

Great location; poor service

I had arranged with the hotel to be collected from the airport. After waiting an hour, a Turkish Airline member of staff came to the rescue and phoned the Tulip Guesthouse. I was told by the hotel to wait by the information desk and I would be collected from there. Another hour passed and I asked the same Turkish Airline member of staff to phone the Tulip Guesthouse again. While he was phoning, I noticed my name amongst those being displayed by the meeters and greeters. I had been wrongly informed by the hotel. It would have cost me the same to have taken a taxi and arrived at the hotel at least two hours earlier. On the second morning of my visit in the breakfast room, I decided to finish off with a small piece of cake. The young Turkish woman saw me looking about for a side plate for my piece of cake, then suggested I used the same plate I had eaten my toast, egg and salad on. I refused. However, the main reason I would not recommend this hotel is because there is no outside rooftop terrace for breakfast. I looked enviously each morning at the hotel across the road where the guests were enjoying their breakfast in the cooler, fresher morning air.

Nice hotel close to historical sites

This is a very nice hotel very close to the historical sites of the city. In addition, there are lots of restaurants nearby to eat. Hotel staff (in particular, Esin) is very helpful. My room was small, but it was reasonably comfortable and incredibly clean. I will stay here again in my ned trip.

Nice place

Hey guys this is a really nice place, quiet and in a beautiful zone, near to all kind of restaurants and coffee shops, located in the middle of the old city you can go by walk to all the places. Good place for couples or singles.

Wonderful, friendly hotel!!

Just got back from a trip to Istanbul- stayed here for 7 nights. The rooms are small but have everything you need- even a hair dryer! The view of the river is beautiful. It's down a nice little small street away from the noise, but SO close to Sulthanahmet Square (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, ad Topkapi Palace). Literally a one minute walk. The staff is very accommodating and very sweet. The free breakfast in the morning is AMAZING!! It's huge and delicious and really helps keep your spending down (the whole country is so affordable already, so you can get buy spending very little). In all honesty the bed was uncomfortable and I had trouble sleeping but my boyfriend slept just fine- so maybe it's just me! One real benefit to this hotel on top of all the other great stuff is that it's right off an awesome street with restaurants and hookah bars. They will try to get you to eat there by kind of following you which is a little jarring at first but once you pick a place and eat there they are SO friendly and the food is awesome. All in all, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend the Tulip Guesthouse! Easy to get to, in a great area, nice view, friendly staff. The breakfast really seals the deal, too- makes it even more worth it considering the already low price of the rooms. Stay here!

good little guest house

Good little guest house near Hagia Sophia. Noise transfers easily. On quiet road, behind strip of hostels which that road could be noisy at night. Great Turkish breakfast !!! The only bad thing was obtaining directions via email. We were informed to "just ask around" when we get off at metro stop, even after asking for clarification. When we legally asked around, nobody knew where it was until we were one street nearby, and asked another hostel. Getting lost by "asking around" wasted over an hour of our overnight layover. Otherwise, entire stay was great.

Unbeatable Bang For Your Buck!

INCREDIBLE experience! Service was OUTSTANDING; staff went above and beyond to make sure my entire Istanbul experience was unforgettable (booked taxis, booked turkish bath, etc.), beginning with the moment we checked in and they already knew us by name. Breakfast spread was extensive and traditional; rooms were VERY clean and maintained every day. You could tell they keep the place clean all year long. Neighborhood was quiet, safe, and EXTREMELY convenient to all the tourist hot-spots, restaurants, and souvenir stores (we only used Taxis for airport service; we walked everywhere else). Rooms are VERY squeezy, but since we didn't go to Istanbul to hang out in a hotel room, that didn't make any difference to us. Upper terrace has great views of the water, and free tea/coffee all day. Five-Star Experience at a Two-Star Price!

Good clean room with ensuite, toilettries, hair drier. Nice breakfast room with view over rooftops to the Bosporus. Very good Turkish breakfast. Very friendly staff.

Small but adequate

Very well located with friendly staff and a good breakfast. Esin was very helpful. Rooms are very small and our floor sloped so we sometimes felt like we were on a ship. Steep stairs so be prepared. Would stay again.

A Small Gem for Families and Individuals

During our two week vacation in Turkey we stayed in eight hotels including two 5 star hotels. However, our best choice among all our accommodations during this trip is the Tulip Guest House for several reasons. The first reason would be the friendliness, helpfulness and positive attitude of the Tulip staff (Ensin and Mesut). The second reason is the location of Tulip and 2-3 minute walking distance to Topkapi Palace, H. Sophia and Sultan Ahmet. We also enjoyed the breakfast at Tulip. Although the sewerage system (like most small hotels in this historic district of Istanbul) was not up to modern standards, but we did not find that to be a major problem. Next time we go to Istanbul, Tulip Guest House will be the first place we contact for our accommodations.

Very pleasant family run guesthouse.

My wife and I ( pensioners on a budget!) stayed in a compact bedroom on the ground floor with shared toilet facilities. Cleanliness was impeccable including facilities. All staff were amazingly friendly and helpful with a pleasant simple but ample breakfast being taken on an upper floor overlooking the Bosphorus. Special mention must also be made as to how the staff willingly offered to look after our baggage on our last day - even though we had checked out 2 days previously. Our honest assessment is that of the 3 establishments we stayed at during the holiday the Tulip is the only one we would return to in the future or recommend to family. The guesthouse is situated at the end of a culdesac just around the corner from an area of pleasant eating establishments and is very convenient for visiting Topkapi and Aya Sofia.

Very good low budget option.

Very good hotel option. Low budget. Nice, clean and looks brand new. This Is a family run hotel so it's very cozy. Breakfast is ok, few fruits, bread, and typical Turkish options like cucumber, boiled eggs, olives and cheese. For beverages coffee and tea. There are very few rooms (about 6) and there is no elevator- max 3 flights of stairs (remember the luggage). It's located right beside topkapi palace, Hagia Sophia and the blue mosque and is also right beside a nice street full of restaurants to enjoy a nice dinner.

We liked it but !

We had booked our room for a week and we enjoyed very good turk breakfast, friendly helpful staff and super clean room. Room are however small and because we are staying longer in the area, we found bigger and better rooms with similar value at much cheaper rate in the same area of Istanbul. Being season travellers we would recommend this establishment if you don't wish or have the time to hunt for better deals which can always be found no matter where you travel. Tulip guest house is a good place to land on first arrival in Istanbul

Great location

I highly recommend Tulip Guesthouse. The location was close to all the major sites, public transportation and restaurants, with great views of the city. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and I felt safe walking by myself at any hour. The staff could not have made me feel more welcome - I feel like I have a family in Turkey to visit. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Rates include a generous Turkish breakfast buffet. The staff arranged a fabulous visit to a traditional haman (Turkish bath) that was one of the highlights of my stay.

This Guest house has lovely personnel, the room was clean and quiet. It is near most of the historical places which you can walk. I will recommended this place.

Clean room, attentive staff, above average breakfast. Hotel is close to sites. A few blocks down there are cheap grocery stores. There's also a free "hidden" Roman ruin at the corner, below a cafe. 10 minute walk to Aya Sophia/ Blue Mosque/ Basilica Cistern/ Sultan Ahmet tram.

My room was small, but clean and tidy. The service was lovely and it was a quick walk from Sultanamet/Topaki Palace/the Blue Mosque. The breakfast was fine, but basic. I'd stay there again.

Perfect Location

Perfect location in old part of Istanbul. Very helpful manager. Room was quite small and no shower cubicle.

Breakfast room very hot as it faced morning sun with no blinds or aircon. Staff were in and out of our room whilst we were not present and not just for cleaning. Had to ask for blanket for the bed as it had none. Good location but would not stay again.

Tulip Guesthouse - Great room, service, & location

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Tulip Guesthouse and can't say enough good things about it. Very friendly staff, great location, excellent breakfast, good size room, etc. and all at a good rate. The staff was very helpful in directing us about where to go, what to see, and how to get around. We will definitely go back to the Tulip Guesthouse the next time we are in Istanbul!

Hotelin konumu gerçekten harika. Sultanahmet ve topkapiya sadece 2 dk yurume mesafesinde .Hotelin mevkisi gayet temiz ve sokaklar guvenli.Herseyden cok memnun kaldık. Herkese tavsiye ederiz

Accueil sympathique hôtel pas facile à trouver Belle petite salle pour déjeuner mais très ordinaire et ne vaut pas les 10 euro demandé

Un seul détail , nous avons demandé l’aide de la responsable de l’établissement pour un appel téléphonique , elle nous a répondu que cela lui coutait. Nous avons préféré nous débrouiller autrement , sa réponse nous a choqué .

we only stayed one night, and for that it was a good accommodation. A small room, a clean bathroom and very friendly staff! we got some tips about the Bazaar and airport transport via bus, very helpful people.
